Stayed every time we are in Fond du Lac
Kenneth
Unique, historical place. But smaller rooms than most modern hotels.
Steven
Beautiful hotel with great amenities. Looks like a brand new 1950's hotel. Staff was very nice and the rooms are big and have beautiful carpets and tile.
Dustin
Nothing but great things to say about this property.
Jessica
This was such a neat hotel to stay at. Love how cozy and comfortable the rooms are. Shower has a rainfall shower head. Very nice touch. Fancy looking in lobby, loved it.
Teri
Great location
Suzanne
Love this property. I have stayed here in the past, in fact in 1991 for my Wedding night! Love the mix of vintage and modern. The A/C unit was rather loud and I would appreciate lotion in the room
Joseph
Restaurant was nice. Did not dine there as I had other plans while I was in town. Cafe and gift shop had odd hours and were never open while I was in the hotel. Rooms were nice, but the king bed rooms were very tight, and there was not a lot of space for suitcases and walking around. Granted, I did not select the upgraded rooms, which were larger.
Access to self-parking was easy and covered. Lots of food options within walking distance.

Always receive great service at the front desk.

Loved this hotel and will return. If the rest of FDL is like the Retlaw we'd move here.

Beautiful building and room, however NO HOT WATER!! Even asked for another room and still, Luke warm at best. Also coffee/water was limited. I really wanted to love this place but the basics need improvement.
Victorine
Was such a beautiful historic hotel. Everyone was so nice there too. Will definately be back!
Robert

I love the Retlaw, beautiful hotel and the rooms are beautiful. I have stayed there 4 times and every stay has been amazing, except this time. We stopped into the onsite bar. The bartender was unbelievably rude. She made us feel super uncomfortable along with the other patrons. One patron got up and left and rolled his eyes at her behavior. We didn’t even want to sit at the bar to have our cocktail, we took it to the room. If I was her manager I would dismiss her immediately. The gentleman the time before that was amazing friendly and super accommodating.

Amber

Thomas
A beautiful hotel located within walking distance to restaurants and bars. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Catherine M.
Beautiful property. LOVELY staff. Fantastic restaurant with the most professional and welcoming and graceful bartender/waiter. Amazing value over all for such a sprawling room in such a pretty hotel. So much love has gone into the Retlaw and we'll be back soon!
don
Our two night stay was very good. Hotel was an older renovation but still in good shape. I wish they had free coffee in the lobby. Location was excellent. Parking was good. Bed Very Comfortable and the tv in the footboard worked well.
Ron
PERFECT
Karen
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful to anything (within reason) we asked. They do need to take \"pool\" out of the equation. It is not usable
Kelly
Lovely room, good location, convenient parking.
James
Room and bed were comfortable, but thermostat was a little hard to manage, finally got it right. Otherwise, it was a nice stay.
Vanessa
My boyfriend and I stayed in a suite and it was a lovely experience. The room was beyond our expectations. Staff was also very friendly. Highly recommend this place.
Kathy
Super clean and the staff was extremely courteous.
Barb
Great downtown hotel. Everything is easily walking distance. Home was beautiful!
Jen
Beautiful hotel. Awesome location: walking distance to restaurants, bars, bakery, and shops.
Very clean—however, I am picky, so I’ll point two things out: the velvet valances need a good vacuuming and the bathroom floor, around the toilet was kind of gross-there were dry droplets.
I also thought it was weird that the bathroom doors didn’t lock and there was a huge opening between the two so someone could see directly in.
But, those things aside. I would 10/10 stay again and have suggested to may people!

Front desk Shaun was great. Bartender at bar in the lobby was nice but didn’t know how to make any of the fancy drinks. Which is why we went there first lol. Room itself was beautiful especially for the price. Nice and quiet, would definitely stay again!
Nikki
Easy parking with no extra fee.
mariah

Really nice place
Tara
The hotel is nicely renovated. The restaurant and bar are very nice with good food and drinks. The coffee shop had excellent coffee.
The housekeeper I spoke with was lovely and so was the barista in the coffee shop. The front desk people on arrival and departure were pretty awful. Neither cracked a smile. They acted like they were miserable. The bartender was rude to another guest and criticized his drink choice. The service was poor enough to make me not stay again.

Very cool renovated “old” hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return for sure. Fond du Lac was amazing also, as well as Lake Winnebago area.

Jami
Beautiful hotel , very nice room and house keeping was great. The area around the hotel was very safe and quite also Many places to eat with in walking distance! The only problem for me is the hotel staff was never at the desk it was like a ghost town almost always and the bar didn’t open till 4 and closed at 9 they also had a restaurant but I never saw it open!
Timothy
Clean. Quiet. And staff were very helpful.
Trina

Check in went smoothly. Room clean and comfortable except air conditioner was loud. Bartender was efficient. Cafe was lacking. Employee could use better training.

Beautiful Hotel in Downtown Fondulac
Hotel was BEAUTIFUL, charming and historic
Raymond
The bed seemed to peak in the middle and then slope down toward the sides which, of course, was where we were sleeping. The pillows were over large and, after being compacted by my head were very hard.
Katherine
This hotel is always a great place to stay at when visiting Fond Du Lac. Close to everything! The staff is always very helpful

Stayed For AirVenture
Nice place, clean rooms, parking is easy, safe area, dinner was good. Will stay again for Air Venture.
Gordon
We have stayed in the Retlaw Hotel four times in the past few years. The rooms are nicely layed out, clean and spacious. The adjacent parking garage is convenient and well-lit.
The bartender could use an attitude adjustment. He was extremely rude to my wife and frankly, we were not interested in listening to his whining about his problems. A grown man should act like a grown man and not like a twelve year old.

Lovely Hotel
The Hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. My family have been guest many times over the last 40 years and we are never disappointed.
Jill
Very friendly desk clerk. The lobby is stunning! Marcus the bartender was fun and friendly. The sole chef on duty cooked a delicious steak and sides. (4th of July!) The room is historic yet modern amenities. And the bed … wow. Like heaven. This hotel is a true gem!
heather
great hotel

This place is great

Beware of rooms facing south as there is an open air bar across the street that plays loud music late into the night. Staff apologies for any inconvenience, but seemed unwilling to do anything.
Jason
Regular repair / replacement of critical items major issue. Examples during my stay, A/C stopped worked on Saturday, maintenance unable to fix and had to sleep with a 80 degree room, multiple other rooms had the same issue (clearly fix when fail policy). One of two small elevators not working. High traffic doors difficult to open due to parts literally falling off. No managers over the weekends to address gaps. Pictures might look nice, but go somewhere else.
Julie
Fancy, marble, pop up tv, but not impressed. There was construction out front so after traveling for 4 hours, had a hard time finding the place. They could have emailed. When we finally find it I go in to get check in. At first there was no clerk at the desk but she came quickly. She gave me the instructions to park, etc, but it was detailed since it involved going in to the ramp, taking the elevator, going through the courtyard, winding around to the elevator, etc. I asked if there was a map - no. Get to the room - no microwave. There is nothing in the room to help you navigate the stay - nothing about the hotel except it's history, nothing touristy of things to see, no welcoming papers, nothing about the restaurants in the hotel or the area. Ice bucket, but did not see a place to get it filled unless you went down to the bar. They had lights around the bottom of the bed, but when you woke up during the night it was too bright and didn't know if there was a way to turn it off or down - since there was no information. Can't get my makeup on in the bathroom - too dark even with the special light up mirror - I may have gone in the closet with a flashlight. Often times, coming and going, there was nobody at the front desk even if it is to give you a cheerful \"hi!\".
We hadn't been in a hotel since Covid and even though this one looked nice, It was a disappointment. We knew there was no pool and that was ok. It just felt cold and not much contact with any staff.

Great price.
Great price.

It was a wonderful atmosphere and experience for our 50th wedding anniversary. We appreciated the upgrade to their Dillinger suite, at no increase to cost for us! We will be back and certainly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for an elegant and accommodating stay experience.
Dennis
Construction every Morning started 7am and lasted into evening 8pm the hole time for our stay
Marsanna
Great value. beautiful property

Very nice historic hotel.
Brandon J
Wonderful hotel. We were lucky enough to have a small haunted episode. We will be back!
Benjamin
Very good comfortable place to stay does suck that they don’t have breakfast and at night time you have to buzz inside
Barbara
Great place need better staff
Front desk staff did not provide any information about the property. Pool? Fitness center? Available? Hours? Nothing just here is the key. No direction to elevator, or rooms, complementary water? Drinking water? Nothing!
Barry
Beautiful hotel.
Thomas
The Hotel Retlaw has a ton of charm and personality. Check in was fast and friendly. The rooms were clean and the decor was unique. Highly recommend, would stay again.
Claire
Great stay at the Hotel Retlaw!
We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the attention to detail by the mixologist bartender!! The only thing we would suggest is having more availability to fresh water not out of the tap.
Huda
Everything was good
