The rooms were spotless and of a really good standard however the standout feature of the hotel was the staff. From the very smiley and welcoming receptionist to the bar staff, everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful - it’s rare to experience such consistent high levels of service.

Sorry found the pool area too hot and very noisy from the water jets on and the acoustics. It would have been nice to have an outdoor area by the pool with sun loungers.
All the staff are so polite and well-trained, and this seems to be across the group. You should all be very proud of this, and we will be back.

The staff could not have been better. My daughter left a gold necklace in her robe pocket at the spa and they found it and returned it. We had an early start and they provided a lovely packed breakfast. Reception staff were so kind and the check in process fluent. Parking was simple and the room beautiful. We hope to return.

Great stay!

The lovely Magdalena (Mags) on reception was very welcoming offering a glass of champagne whilst checking in. She upgraded our room, helped with our bags and showed us round the room. The room was beautiful with tea/coffee facilities and fresh milk in the fridge. Toiletries were very nice. The bed was huge and super comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Me my wife and 7 month old son have just spent 2 nights at Rookery Hall Hotel and it was amazing. The staff were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Even getting a cot, bottle steriliser and blankets for my son. The spa treatments are also amazing and well worth the money. Highly recommend the hotel and look forward to staying again in the future.

From start to finish the level of service was absolutely amazing. The spa was clean and welcoming, with even a last minute treatment booking slot for both of us which was a lovely treat. The seasonal menu option looked amazing but we opted for more casual dining in the bar/lounge area where all the staff were super attentive and went the extra mile for my girlfriends birthday surprise. Feature room was amazing! Everything so clean and comfortable with the extra added view of the garden.

Definitely recommend to anyone considering but maybe book some treatments in advance if you don’t have the same luck as we did.

Absolutely wonderful hotel and even better restaurant. Having stayed elsewhere in the area recently, I moved to this property the second week of my journey. Even though both hotels were rated similarly, I can tell you there is no comparison. The attention to detail here is top notch in everything they do from the grounds, rooms and common areas to the staff cleaning your room. In my opinion he restaurant is worthy of a Michelin star for their creativity, quality and service. Try the tasting menu with the wine pairing for an amazing culinary experience.

The hotel takes full payment in advance

The hotel room has the rear of the building had fabulous views across the Cheshire countryside. The quality of the service was excellent and the food, imaginative, beautifully presented and a really good standard. Breakfast was good but let down by airline standard pastries but the service again was professional and friendly.
The TV in the room was standard hotel fare with no HD channels - disappointing given the price point of the room.
The hotel take the full payment in advance - with Hotel.Com having nothing on their website to this effect which felt very misleading.
The spa facilities were good, clean and well maintained

Lovely hotel. Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Service at breakfast was a bit lacking in basics on the table and having to ask to order and for ask for toast 3 times. . Swim times for children very restrictive as by the time had breakfast we only had half an hour to swim with our little boy on Sunday unless we waited 4 hours. Overall nice stay.

Rooms were very nice. Beds are very comfortable, overall very clean and well presented. The only thing that wasnt right was the air conditioning was on automatic and would not be set lower. The bedroom had the heating on all night which made it difficult to sleep.
The food and breakfast was nice however the service was a little slow. We waited 30 minutes for eggs on toast.
The spa however was lovely. My pedicure was amazing and Karen who took care of me for the hour was lovely and so friendly. The facilties here are great. I wanted to stay longer.
Overall quite happy with the hotel but small things just could have made it better.

The hotel looked great on arrival and even the room was large. But when i ran a bath hair floated from the plug so i abandoned that and went to the shower to find more long dark hair. After my shower i was sitting on the bed when i felt something on my shoulder i moved to bat it off and it stuck to my wet hand. It was a large clump of dust debris which had beencollecting on the top of the headboard so when i saw where it came from and how dirty the room was i started to notice ore and more dirt.

Lovely setting and very nice building with lots of old features. There are separate buildings meaning that some rooms need to be accessed by going outside, as does the spa and pool. This is fine unless it's cold or raining. The food was very good and beds comfortable, everything to a good standard. The thing that was not was access to the pool for children which wasn't made clear to my husband on enquiry before booking, despite asking. When we arrived and found that children weren't permitted in the pool from 5pm and only allowed in the following morning from 9-11, that basically ruined our evening. The whole idea of us having a stopover with our daughter here was a treat for her too, and this was a great let-down. The pool wasn't particularly busy, we were with one child, and there was one other couple with the same complaint and one child. If you have a policy like this please make it plain at the time of booking. I don't appreciate spending a couple of hundred pounds for this kind of experience, and had we known, we would have either booked elsewhere or not made the stop off at all. While the reception was very apologetic, there was no offer to make up for this inconvenience. Hence the average review, which is a shame.

Midweek break at Rookery Hall

Staff on arrival very friendly. Given room \"october\" but on entering there were cases already there. Went down to reception and we were given complimentary coffee while it was quickly rectified.

The room was very nice, spacious with great views. The bed was very comfortable. The amenities were good.

The first night we discovered the room was directly over the kitchen and was very noisey through the floor until about 11.30pm and again from 6.30am. There was also an air conditioning unit outside the bathroom window that was pretty noisey all the time. Overall though this did not detract from our stay.

The breakfast was good on both days. Although Thursday morning had more choice on the buffet than Friday.

We used the spa facilities on Wednesday evening and all day on Friday. It was nice and relaxing. However when we arrived on Friday morning we were surprised to see the end of the pool where the loungers were being jetwashed. There was water overspray blowing into the pool and over guests. This should be something undertaken when the pool is closed for health and safety surely?

My husband booked champagne afternoon tea for Friday. It was very enjoyable. Good selection of food and great champagne and good coffee. A little difficult to find a member of staff to pay at the end though!

The cooked breakfasts however were disappointing. We had to return both our cooked breakfast back after waiting for 3/4 hour for it on the first day .. We did inform them at the time and they did agree our breakfast was indeed not cooked well , that evening we found a nice bottle of red wine in our room as way of an apology. However my husbands cooked breakfast on the second day was still not up to scratch ..I stuck to continental breakfast which was nice,

Great for a spa trip

The hotel was beautiful, so peaceful and the spa facilities exceeded expectations. The pool area was clean and not overly busy, even though we stayed on a Friday, and the gym was well equipped, although the range of weights were a little on the heavy side.
We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it looked incredibly busy and the bar area, although small, made a lovely cocktail, sadly no Aperol though.
Overall we had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel.

The service at the hotel was excellent. All the staff were very professional and courteous. The bedroom was in the main building. It was a very comfortable bed however some of the furnishings and condition of furnishings were a bit tired. The breakfast was excellent. The downside was having to walk over to the spa outside. The bathrobes were very worn, as were the spa towels and slippers are not provided.

Very good overall

It was booked as a birthday treat for my partner. We had a very nice night there overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately with the rain all day and night it meant we couldn't enjoy the local scenery much.
Although i was fine with the comfort of the bed my partner found it to be very firm and didnt sleep too well.
The food was excellent quality and taste but quite small portions for what it actually costs in my opinion.
