The hotel was lovely but the rooms were very hot as no air con. There was a fan but this circulated the hot air. We had to have the windows open and there was vey loud music and noise from the bar opposite until 4am. I felt that the propert was very expensive for what you got

The hotel was just what we expected from the pictures provided. The room was clean and we had plenty of room, which is needed when traveling with a young one. The reason I didn't give a better rating for our overall stay was because the beds were VERY firm. I was so sore the next day, my husband was slightly sore and my son didn't seem to be effected in any way. My son slept on a roll-away bed so his mattress may have been different from mine and my husbands. The hotel location was great if you want to go down by the water... we didn't get to go as it was raining, cold and late. Breakfast was okay, a selection of eggs, meat, cheese, breads.

Romantic getaway on Lake Constance
Great combination of a family owned and operated hotel and restaurant. The restaurant is well known for its quality and gourmet chef. We were here to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. Beautiful old town, hotel is a 5 minute walk from the boat landing where you can board a boat to cruise the lake.

LOUD, very limited breakfast
Very loud at night when people leave the local bars. This went on for many hours (4am!!!). Then the first church bell chimed at 5am (close to the hotel). It was also very hot, not the fault of the hotel, but we had to have the windows open and there was no fan to help circulate the air.
The breakfast offered very limited selection and of that very limited supply; we were offered one cup of coffee but no refills; at all other hotels we were offered a pot of coffee and/or refills and also eggs cooked to order but nothing was offered here. This was very surprising for the best rated restaurant in town. This was the worst stay of our 13 day European trip.

Good stopover in Switzerland.
We stayed one night on our way to the Zeppelin Museum across the lake and on to the Black Forest. The hotel is classic Swiss! No frills, but every amenity covered. Very comfortable beds! Good shower! Absolutely fabulous food! It wasn't cheap, but was worth every penny (or franc). Arbon is a nice little town and we were past the tourist season so it was quiet.

Amazing hotel in the old town of Arbon
We were warmly greeted by the owners on our arrival and shown to our room. The room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and the meal was delicious. The Malaysian curry was to die for!!

Impressive 450 year-old building
No receptionist or other staff when we arrived; they do, however, have a fool-proof key system which worked for me. The building is almost 500 years old. Everything at the hotel was stylish, functional, comfortable, clean and with an exciting amount of flair only a historic building can provide.

We stumbled upon the Römerhof and were absolutely thrilled. The room was simple, beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed, and breakfast was exceptional. We also loved the neighborhood and strolling along the lake in the morning.

We stumbled on Arbon while vacationing and it is a very charming town however not set up well for tourist. The hotel is a very nice remodeled very old building and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful and the dinning in the hotel was exceptional but pricey.

Only stayed 1 night. Rooms were lovely, staff pleasant and wish we could have stayed longer! Ate out at a nearby very good Italian so only had breakfast at the hotel which was lovely. We would stay here again.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. The building is historic, centrally located and quiet. It is staffed with the most friendly and knowledgeable group of people I have ever met. Parking is convenient, and the building is secured at night. The food is professionally prepared and excellent. Delightful hotel next to old town and shopping, 10 minute walk from train station and lakeside park Dates back to 1300's, but fully modern interior and scrupulously maintained. Ample parking, but no elevator. Good internet and breakfast included.

A gastronomic delight
Arbon was just a chance stop over on a long driving trip round the alps but we struck lucky with Romerhof . Owner chef, Gerald and his staff were most welcoming and charming. The room was pleasantly in keeping with the age and style of the Inn but with a modern twist and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. The high spot was the dinner. We decided to splurge and had the7 course asparagus tasting menu. I don't know how this restaurant has escaped a Michelin star up to now but it certainly deserves one. The meal included asparagus soup with grilled scallop, a delightful risotto, Wagu beef with Aberdeen Angus tournedos and a sublime lime Pannacotta. An experience not to be missed.

Das Hotel ist in sehr zentraler Lage in Arbon gelegen. Das im Hotel befindliche Restaurant bietet eine phantastsiche Küche, sehr bemerkenswert und super lecker. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen, aber für 1 oder 2 Übernachtungen absolut OK.

Charmates Hotel in der Altstadt
Ein kleines charmantes Hotel in der Altstadz, das nicht sehr ruhig gelegen ist. Ich hatte ein Zimmer zur Strasse und es war ziemlich laut. Das Zimmer war geräumig und bot alles was es braucht. Das Restaurant ist wahrscheinlich gut, auf alle Fälle hat einige Auszeichnungen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war auch einwandfrei.

Un séjour de charme à Arbon
Très bel hôtel situé au centre de la jolie ville de Arbon, près de Constance. A quelques minutes à pied du lac, très calme. Bon petit-déjeuner, malheureusement nous n'avons pas pu tester la cuisine du restaurant à cause du Covid, mais nous y reviendrons très certainement ! Les gérants sont très accueillants, les chambres simples mais très propres et joliment décorées. Rien à dire, cet hôtel fait partie des hôtels au charme discret où les clients reviennent régulièrement.

Alles in allem erlebten wir einen gemütlichen, genussreichen Aufenthalt, welcher Corona-bedingt einen fast kontaktlosen Check-in bedurfte. Das Zimmer war strassenseitig, womit die Lärmbelastung etwas erhöht war. Ansonsten sauberes Zimmer mit etwas durchgelegenen Betten, geräumig und tolle Annehmlichkeiten. Sehr gutes Frühstück mit herzlichem Service.

Diesmal leider sehr enttäuschend
Wir waren schon öfter Im Hotel de charme Römerhof, es hat echt Charme und Charakter, aber leider muss ich sagen, dass dieses Hotel im Sommer bzw. bei Hitze eher nicht zu empfehlen ist. Die Zimmer heizen sich dermaßen auf, dass sich die Wärme in den Zimmern staut. Leider gibt es keine Ventilatoren, die evtl. für etwas Luftbewegung sorgen, und somit ist die Hitze im Zimmer nahezu unerträglich und ein erholsamer Schlaf, trotz der weit geöffneten Fenster, unmöglich. Somit ist der Preis von 235€ fürs Dz. leider total überzogen und für diese Art Zimmer nicht zeitgemäß, sorry.

In meiner Buchung steht u.a. kostenloses Mineralwasser, ich bekam es nur am ersten Tag, darauf angesprochen kam als Antwort: Gibt es nur am 1. Tag ausserdem können sie aus dem Hahn trinken. Dann sollte man es auch unmissverständlich in der Buchung so kommunizieren und trinken aus dem Hahn kömnen Sie sich schenken, zudem finde ich es sehr kleinlich für eine Kapsel Kaffee auf dem Zimmer 2,5 Franken zu verlangen. Entweder nix verlangen oder weglassen, sonst gibt's immer Raum für Kritik.
Dass das angebotene Rührei an einem Morgen misslungen ist kann passieren, hätte man besser neu gemacht als ein total wässriges hinzustellen das dann keiner nahm. Davon abgesehen verdient das Frühstück ein Lob, alles vorhanden.

Ich würde die Besitzerin nicht als Gastgeberin sondern eher als harte Geschäftsfrau bezeichnen. Schade, das Gebäude ist alt und schön......die Deko mässig, Preis Leistung stimmt nicht!
