Good stay at practical location

Nice stay at practical location. Short walk to city center, casino in-house. Staff were friendly. Taking the dog was no problem, but there was an additional fee of CHF 30. Parking at CHF 25/day also quite expensive. Room was decent and clean, although not very modern.

Check in lasted half an hour as well as the Check out. Corona Virus was clearly not much important as they gave me the same pen as the used. The room was tidy but not that clean and also we couldn’t get breakfast as there was a line of up to 20 people waiting for breakfast

A very nice, clean and quiet hotel located slightly outside the main business area. It's a good 20 minute walk from the main train station or a short taxi ride. The staff was very helpful and my room on the business floor was very quiet and comfortable. No problems with Internet, it was quite fast. Breakfast was OK, pretty standard. There is a casino on site which I did not get a chance to visit. The \"old town\" is close by and there are several good restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel was very nice, room very clean, and they offered a free transit pass as part of the deal. The one thing to know is that it is also a casino, which didn't interest us, but might some other folks. I might add that the breakfasts were awesome but the menu for dinner very limited and expensive. Food was excellent, but very few choices and pegged towards a casino special where you got chips with dinner. We don't gamble, so this was a negative.

Friendly staff, good quality room

Staff were friendly and helpful, especially with our 5 yr old son, whose new toy they helped to fix! We didnt use the restaurant facilities. Hotel is a 15 min walk from the main train station. Our family room was clean and mainly comfortable, although rather hot even with no heating on! We had to leave window open all night in order to sleep well. The shower was powerful, yet strangely had a half-transparent window which faced the bedroom. This meant that if one of us used the bathroom at night, the bathroom light shone through and awoke the others.

We used his hotel as an overnight stop-over as we travelled through Switzerland. The word I can only describe this place is Average. Check-in was sub-par (almost forgettable) and the room itself felt like it was going down the route of a cheap hotel (I.e. furniture, ambience, etc. was on the verge of being outdated).

The devil really is in the detail; nothing was quite what it is was. The coffee “facilities” were basic sachets, the wine bucket has didn’t have enough room for ice, there were scratches and all sorts on parts of the wall. The room was spacious; so much so because, other than the bed, there was only a single, small chair with what looked like an old-beside table that the hotel tried to pass off as an actual table. The bizarre glass panel providing more than peak into the bathroom from the bedroom will become a terrible nightmare if anyone requires to use the bathroom at night. The so-called “gym” is equally outdated, providing 3 pieces of equipment, one of which if you’re over 6 foot, you would be hitting the ceiling with you head. Within the gym is also a relaxation room; I cannot think of anywhere worse than in the basement of a hotel to relax.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone - even if you’re you’re staying overnight - it really isn’t worth it at all. Spend a little more money, and go somewhere else.

Perfect location for a trip to St Gallen

Cleanliness and comfort characterize this hotel. Located (0.4miles) from the Marketplace and slightly further from the train station, the location is perfect.

The room was ultra clean, and the bed was the most comfortable I found in Prague, Zurich or St Gallen. The hotel offers a casino, but I never saw much activity associated with this feature, and the hotel was very quiet and peaceful.

There is a window that looks righti into the bath from thr main part of the room. It is frosted glass up to mid chest then clear. Bath light shines onto the bed. Hard to describe but weird. Also there is a post obstructing the walk to the bath. In the dark one could bump into it and get hurt. No way to leave a small
Light on somewhere without disturbing a sleeping person. The mattress was soft and uncomfortable. The staff were wonderful

I had high hopes for this hotel, and everything looked as nice as the pictures, but you didn't want to look too close. There were several small things broken in our room that would be quite obvious to the maid service, but for whatever reason, they hadn't been fixed. This hotel was probably top-notch 10 years ago, but I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed with my stay. I'm usually not picky, but the small stuff adds up. Could be so much better.

Good hotel for a brief stay in St. Gallen

We were passing through for one night and this hotel worked well. A short walk into the city, comfortable room, very helpful staff. My only complaint: I do not know why hotels insist on putting glass walls in the bathroom leading into the bedroom. It offers no privacy and is certainly inconvenient if you use the bathroom at night with a light while someone else is trying to sleep.
Otherwise, very comfortable and modern room and nice stay.

Very close to the Olma Messen

The staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately I paid a lot of money to stay at this hotel in a non smoking room and it reeked of cigarette smoke, our neighbors were smoking. Even though it is a non Smoking hotel there was a ash tray in our room. In my opinion they are encouraging people to smoke in their nonsmoking hotel. I won't be coming back to this hotel.
It is way overpriced.

The hotel is really clean and welcoming. The food in the Olive restaurant was delicious, although a little pricey - but then it is Switzerland. I couldn't fault the service it was prompt, efficient and the staff were really friendly and helpful, which really helped make it a pleasant stay. The room had a lovely shower and comfy bed, there is also a really good sauna and free, fast wifi. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Badly designed room with a column next to one side of the bed (hazard in the night), no wireless in the room, connection through a cable only (in the age of IPhones and IPads), the 'gym' is the size of a cupboard with 3 machines only, the shower has no water pressure whatsoever (and if somebody uses the tap, then it virtually stops), toiletries provided are an absolute minimum (one small shampoo between two people), breakfast expensive, staff were friendly and helpful.

The major disappointment was that we were given a 'NON-SMOKING' room - but the smell of tobacco smoke was quite strong. We were moved to another room, but had to ask for extra towels, etc, as it wasn't set up for two people.

Spent a very nice 5 days at the hotel where a welcoming smile from staff at reception went a long way to getting rid of the stress of a long journey.
There were smiles from the staff at the reception, at the bar and in the restaurant and if i were to return to the area i would not hesitate in re-booking this hotel.

Clean and comfortable. But, I booked for 3 adults and thought it was expensive. At check out they hit me with another charge for the extra bed which I needed to sleep 3. What they do is this: if you book 3 adults with 2 beds they will give you two single beds (not 1 single, 1 double). When we could not sleep two adults in 1 single bed we ask for another bed. This is an extra charge.

I normally stay slightly out of St. Gallen but wanted to be in the heart of the city. The hotel is connected to the Swiss Casino which had no impact on my staying there. Everything was first class - almost like a small boutique hotel. Restaurant was also excellent. About 5 minutes from railway station by taxi - a bit too far to walk. Even the stone floor in bathroom was heated.

We had a very relaxing stay at the hotel. They were very helpful and efficient and communication was easy ( we don't speak much german but there English was very good which unusual in most hotels).

The room was immaculate and had everything we needed including power adapters at reception.

We would definitely stay there again as we didn't get a chance to try the highly recommended restaurant.

Accommodation rate was a bargain but the extras !!!

Considering extremely expensive hotel prices in Switzerland, I booked this hotel at a real bargain, esp for a triple occupancy. The room was a bit cramped though considering that an extra bed was added (I actually asked for a room with one KING BED, not being very tall people we would have managed with that!) but the bathroom was superb. I liked the SECURITY aspect of the hotel, and the staff were really friendly. Very busy though at night due to the Casino in the hotel, nonetheless, it was quiet inside the rooms. Surprised though that we had to pay for parking and Breakfast was horribly expensive!!! Also that no Goldplus points were awarded because I had booked using EXPEDIA!!! That was very disappointing and Expedia should actually challenge this...

The Radisson Blu in St. Gallen was a real find. It is within easy walking distance of the Ton Halle, Theater and historic district. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accommodating -- offering dining suggestions and providing umbrellas for our use during our stay. We could not have been more pleased with this quiet, convenient and comfortable hotel.

I was in St. gallen on a business trip (20-21 Aug 2010). I booked the Radisson blu hotel through Expedia and I am very much happy with the service provided by Expedia. The Hotel is in excellent location, good maintenance, clean, cozy. I like the hotel. However, the front office staff was reluctant to help. I expected a little warmer welcome after a long flight Mumbai-Paris-Zurich-St. Gallen!

Unbeatable Hotel

We used The Radisson Blu as our hub while visiting in Appenzell and Urnäsh. We were just 8 minutes by bus (#3 put in 3 FR) from the train station and a 10 minute walk to the Old Town. The staff is most helpful, most cheerful and appreciates our efforts to speak an European language. The Radisson Blu is \"the\" hotel for you if you are looking to experience a very modern, convenient place to stay. The price, negotiated through [...] was a bargain!.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Raddison Blu in St. Gallen and I am very impressed with all of the accommodations of this hotel. The rooms are modern, neat and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel service from the front desk to the restaurant is excellent. The restaurant is also very nice. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet in the morning and serve very good standard Swiss dishes in the afternoon and evening. I can't say enough about the friendly and helpful personnel at this establishment. Great location and outstanding hotel. Highly recommended.

Not A Great Family Hotel

I booked this hotel because I wanted to stay in St. Gallen, this was the only hotel available for the dates of our stay. While it was a lovely, modern business-style hotel and the staff was kind and attentive, it was definitely a businessman's hotel (which it's geared for). The rooms have no drawers -- just surfaces! So, for a family vacation, I wouldn't recommend it -- but for a business trip -- yes. The on-site restaurant was pretty good -- but I would have liked for the breakfast buffet to be complimentary.
