We had a pet friendly room. The decor was unique one of a kind rustic. It had a dog bed, dog treats, and dog waste bag. It had a keurig coffee maker with decaf and regular coffee. There was a small fridge and microwave. The room was clean. You received two free drink tickets, and a free gift ticket for their gift shop. There is a small casino and a nice restaurant. We enjoyed our stay.

A pretty nice hotel as long as you don't mind a bit of casino smell permeating throughout the building. You should know they do not have an elevator. There is a Mexican restaurant in the casino section with good hours so late night or early morning meals are available, but not included with your room. Even though I don't like the smell of casinos, I found the atmosphere pleasing. They have a variety of artifacts and artwork to walk around and view. The room was comfortable and clean with a good refrigerator with a freezer section. The shower has an insufficient barrier to keep water from leaking and puddling on the bathroom floor so do beware the slippery floor.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room is well equipped - free water bottle , toothbrush and toiletries., refrigerator. Microwave, the hot water is hot and the AC works great. The bed was very comfortable.

Very nice staff and fun eclectic vibe. The Mexican restaurant inside was excellent. The only con was how smoky the small casino was. Very noticeable through Lobby and casino. We will look at other sleep accommodations next visit but still come to the restaurant. The fried ice cream was almost too pretty to eat

We've stayed at the Prospector at least a dozen times! We travel with our dog, and we love how pet friendly they are. It's also great they have a restaurant on site. We're tired after driving all day, and it's nice we can get food right there. The rooms are spacious, check-in is easy, and we highly recommend staying there.

Picked this hotel, even being higher priced than others in the area due to great reviews of the pool/hot tub. Which of course were closed. I wish these places would note that on the reservation site as it is a deciding factor for us always. We were very disappointed after a 9 hr drive to not be able to soak. That being said, the folks there were very friendly, rooms dated but comfortable. Feather pillows. We didnt have one of the rooms that looked newly rennovated on the website. Last but not least, Margaritas restaurant on site had outstanding food at good prices. Also, they did give guests a complimentary drink coupon.

Love the Prospector Hotel & Casino, our go to place when we travel to Ely NV. The staff and everyone are so friendly and will go out of the way for whatever you need!

Rooms are very rustic, county feel and love the picture in the hallway of what Ely once was!

Highly recommend staying at the Prospector even if just passing through!

We have stayed here many time and really enjoyed our stay. We were bummed that the pool was closed for renovation. It’s bothersome that there was no mention of that on their website nor did Expedia mention it during booking.

I will not stay here again. I didn’t want to take my shoes off because I felt like it wasn’t clean enough. I wouldn’t sleep with the comforter. The hot water wouldn’t work at first. They had to reset it and even after that it was warm water at best. They put us in a smoking room and it was bad. It is very run down and could use a remodel. We got to breakfast at 7:45 and were told that they would not be refilling anymore items. Apparently breakfast is really early for most who stay here. We were not the only ones who were disappointed by this news. Other guests were touching the food with bare hands. The gravy was burned. We left without eating. The traffic is really loud all night long on the streets. Honestly I am embarrassed we stayed here. This is like a 1 star hotel. Luckily we just needed a bed but honestly it would have been better to stop on the side of the road and sleep in our car. It was not worth what we paid for this property. Let me just say pictures can be very deceiving!

This quaint little hotel was great. Staff (especially the check in Staff and bar matron) were very helpful and courteous.

Currently the hotel is renovating so there maybe a little noise, we were right next to the stairs and never heard a peep from anyone.

Room was very clean, no smells and even had a welcome note from Staff explaining a few details (resturant, room service and about the renovation)

Lots of interesting things in lobby.

Resturant is Mexican/American food. Great food for breakfast and dinner.

The casino/bar area was under construction during our stay resulting in crowded conditions. Food at the restaurant was good but our waiter completely ignored us after he served our meal which was very frustrating. Room and cleanliness of the facility is always above average. My room was beautiful. My daughter stayed in another room and it was just as pretty. The whole hotel is high class and I’m from Las Vegas. I went to Margaritas in the casino for dinner and LOVED it. I would l say a negative if I found one but I could not find one negative thing to say….. I will be back, I will make sure I stay here when I am in Ely.

Yes, the service was very good and the room was very nice.
The bathtub does not have handles for assisting users to access the shower. A necessity for older people.
The lighting near the sink and mirror is a little dim.

When we arrived, their internet was down, but they didn't hesitate on getting us into a room. They took the brunt of the issue and said, \"We'll worry about the details in the morning.\" Everything was clean and comfortable. The lighting in the room was a but dim for working, but fir a simple night's rest, it was fine.

The room amenities, furniture, and bed were all good, but it was kinda cramped. I could not get into the bed against the wall very easily.

The only other issue was the odor in the casino - seemed a little strong and maybe the air could be filtered?

Overall our stay went well and would consider staying there again.

The staff was nice. I was thoroughly disappointed that the pool was closed as I come to Ely to have a sleepover at there and take my Grandkids swimming. I didn't even think to ask... will be staying elsewhere next time.
also.. cash only at the restaurant, my grandaughter threw p all night after eating at the restaurant and the didn't have any to go cups.

The Pros: staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. They seemed to genuinely care about assisting their guests.

The Cons: The WiFi in my room was inoperable. I was offered a replacement room but I was already settled in for the evening.

The restaurant is filthy. There is food in the creases of the seats that has been there for ages. I honestly was afraid to eat anything after seeing that.

The coffee they served in the morning was cold and tasted like it had been brewed the day before. I really expected better. There’s no excuse for not providing a decent morning coffee service.

Not a place I would recommend if asked.

Stayed here on a road trip to Great Basin NP. Our room was spacious and clean with a confortsble bed. Nice toiletry items, including toothbrush and toothpaste! The room included 2 bottles of decent wine for purchase (although we didn’t purchase). At checkin we were each given a coupon for 1 glass of complimentary beer or wine from the casino bar… a nice perk! The casino also had a decent Mexican and steak restaurant. Would stay here again!
