The hotel’s historic building is a treasure.
Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Unfortunately during our stay the elevator was not working, the restaurant was closed (indefinitely?), the bar was closed due to a ceiling leak from an upstairs room and the ice machine was broken. The staff was able to give me ice.

Beautiful historic hotel. Restaurant, bar, and elevator were all closed. I did not appreciate that they allow ghost seekers and history buffs to not only come into lobby but also up all levels of the building. Some were respectful; others plain rude, loud - swearing and telling guests and desk clerk that they would never stay in this f@@ haunted place. Did not appreciate them and took away from our experience of a beautiful old historic hotel. Room was clean. Our party had 3 rooms and two of them were mixed up but corrected. Clean room. I would recommend the hotel. Hopefully these problems can be fixed.

The hotel is a historical hotel so I know there might be some limits to what they alter but it was an uncomfortable experience. The air unit was excessively loud, the windows did not work (ropes they were attached to were broken), we couldn’t close one of the curtains and the television kept blipping on and off. The continental breakfast was also disappointing unfortunately

Room was ok. The bed was a so soft mattress you sunk clear in..not good. Check in was not good. We booked two room thru expedia and they only had us down for one. Thank goodness they had an extra room but it was not as nice as ours. Bathroom needed work. The man that checked us in was not nice at all. Glad we are here only one night. Wont be back.

No longer vintage, just old and rundown

Elevator unusable. The hotel ran out of towels and washcloths before check in and never was able to give them out until the next day. The carpet has large bubbles throughout and needed re-stretched as it was a tripping hazard. No one around to restock the continental breakfast so only bread and butter and one box of cereal available 30 minutes into continental breakfast. The shower slowly ran all night. The shampoo was actually just the hand soap and no washcloth to use the liquid soap on your body. Very difficult to find anyone to talk to for help and no one was able to assist when we did. No longer a vintage hotel, now just an old, run down hotel. One star only as it was just nearly better than sleeping in our car.

There is zero customer service at the Copper Queen Hotel. It is strictly a novelty hotel. Our family was celebrating our mother’s 83rd birthday, we made dinner reservations at the hotel 30 days in advance. When we checked i. for our dinner reservation they had given our table away and then lied to us about it, they told us since they gave away our table they could not accommodate us. Horrible staff

The front desk staff was great but for $200+ per night I was expecting more. The hallways and rooms were kind of grubby. In our room the seal around the toilet was cracked and there was water on the floor. That said, you can’t beat the location so we might give it another chance.

Do not go here! We were unable to checkin because there is NO parking. You are expected to park somewhere in town on your own. The advertisement says self-parking, free self-parking on site. We've traveled a lot and this was an impossible situation. We finally found a spot about 1/2 mile away, but it was raining and there was no way we were going to leave our truck unattended in the crazy situation in Bisbee. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING! For the price of the rooms, they should at the least provide a shuttle service to and from a designated parking area. We lost our money, but I hope you don't lose yours.

Older property (obviously) so lacking some conveniences. Street parking in hilly location. Was not told the elevator doesn't work until we were trying to bring our luggage up to our room. So had to haul it up the stairs. Thankfully our room was only on the second floor. But I've since learned that the elevator not working is common so be prepared for that.

This property is historic, that's the only reason we considered staying there.
I don’t know where to start…. The property is so ran down….. carpet is so dirty it needs to be replaced, hot water in the shower took about 5 minutes to get to the shower head. The Bar on Friday night had 1 couple in there. The Dining room has 2 sets of people at 6:00 pm….we decided to eat elsewhere.
The owners should be embarrassed….

The front desk guy was rude and clearly didn't want to be there. I think the room had been cleaned somewhat, but it didn't look quite ready for a new guest. I could not get hot water in the shower and could not get cold water in the sink! It appears they have done some updating, but as cheaply as possible. Sadly, I doubt that I'll stay there again.

Checked in and learned both the restaurant & bar were closed. Room was small, and it was an \"upgrade\". Dirty bathroom - LOTS of ants!!! Took too long to get hot water for showering. Mattress needs replacing. No elevator - no handicap access and lots of stairs. Will never book there again. AND. . . just learned today that on 8/29/25 (a day after we left) they used my CC to take $287.63 !!!!!!!!!!!

Check in was disorganized due to computer going down. We were placed in someone else's room, found out after a couple of hours. Hotel straightened out the problem with no disruption to our stay. Beautiful, old hotel. Elevator was out of service, inconvenient for handicapped person staying on the 3rd floor. Hotel had us park out in back which was better accomodation for our room. After dark that path was unlit and not very smooth. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

The elevator is broken and apparently the hotel does not plan to repair it. So, if you are not able or willing to climb stairs to third or fourth floor rooms, this hotel is not for you. If your balance is not excellent, you may also find the charming clawfoot climb-in tub showers hazardous.

The staff worked very hard to fix room assignments of a couple of guests at check in -- so don't count on whatever your confirmation email said or even a telephone confirmation. I did inquire in advance about an elevator and was not told it is out of service.

Finally, this is a magnificent historic hotel with, sad to say, signs of neglect everywhere.

The hotel is beautiful and it has so much history in the building. It is a queen that is being neglected. I know it is up for sale but they could at least continue to love it. I was excited to stay here and still enjoyed the nostalgia. The room was over priced for what it was. The pool appears to be in disrepair. The bar and restaurant were not open. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The carpet in the room was stained and appeared dirty. Could easily rip it up and put down area rugs. The common areas were decorated with antiques and I loved that. There was just a level of neglect that was heartbreaking. The hotel building itself is just gorgeous. I wish the owner loved it more. The staff was a skeleton crew. The lobby closed and they turned off the lights so the lobby was literally dark which is weird. All in all I wanted to love this place. I wanted to sit at the old bar and have old fashioned drinks. I wanted to sit and be immersed in its history but it just felt empty. Please love this property again.

The hotel room was as advertised. It's an antique hotel. It has It's issues but not in a bad way. The window A/C unit was a little loud so we had turn the TV to hear it.The toilet had an issue but staff fixed it right away. The one thing I didn't like was the elevator didn't work. Unfortunately it was something I needed due to health issues. Staff was great and attentive!

Three of us were in the spacious, comfy, clean and gorgeous \" Houdini\" room. When we opened the door we were in awe. The whole place is a step back in timeless grandeaur. If you look for wear and tear you will find it, it is the oldest consecutively run hotel in America! Never closed ! But, you will also find grand sitting rooms, a gem of a porch with a stunning view and a lil hidden oasis of a pool. The history is spectacular and Louis at the front desk was knowledgeable and personable. We already hear the Copper Queen beckoning us back!

Needs cleaning and better customer service

Our check in was smooth and the desk person friendly. We were a little early and spent time in the hotel bar. The staff was friendly and timely with service.

We made our way to the room. The carpet on the stairs looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the hotel opened in 1902. Our room was clean and tidy. The pool area had trash on tables and access stair railings were loose. The Continental breakfast did not have a staff member available to assist with refilling the coffee pot or managing trash left by other patrons.

Our room did not have cleaning service in spite of a multiple day stay. This was only an issue because we asked for more coffee and was told we could have two pods only because \"other guests need coffee too.\" While I understand the need to not be greedy, I did not feel like I was out of line asking for enough pods for me and my husband to have two cups each in the morning. We also did not have access to pool towels as the cabinet outside was empty except for several Miller Light beer cans.

Please understand, we knew this hotel was built in 1902. We stay in historic hotels frequently. Cleanliness and customer service has nothing to do with the older architecture and typical things that go with being an older hotel.

We will be back to Bisbee, but not to the Copper Queen.

Beautiful historic hotel right in the heart heart of downtown Bisbee. They give you an actual key! How cool is that? My room had beautiful antiques and the sheets and bed were top notch. The window ac was very efficient and easy to operate. The pool is very nice and refreshing ona hot day.

If you’re staying in Bisbee and want the old west feel… this has that. Only problem is when you book two separate nights, back to back, and the staff can’t manage to figure out how to bill it. Ended up being charged for missing my second night (while I was in the room 🙄) and then having them not see that charge when I called to dispute it. Yeah… not good.

So frustrating that I can’t talk to a manager. Are window air conditioner quit working around midnight. We were on the 4th floor. Room was so hot we could not sleep. Complained the next morning and given the option a room with a rollaway bed. Definitely not. Gave us 2 rooms. I go to my new room, not cleaned. Another trip down from the 4th floor. Got another room. The girl at the front desk said I we would be compensated for our first night. Well, morning of check out, we sat for 1/2 hour waiting to talk to someone that would be there at 8am. Didn’t happen. We left at 8:30. Next day. You know all those phone numbers that they have at their check-in to call??? First number, rang, rang,rang then nothing. Second number, VM is full. Third number, a person answered but hung up on me when I was asking for a manager. 4th number, rang, rang,rang. Nothing. Finally, googled more numbers. After the 3rd person I got, was very friendly and he actually worked there. Told me the manager would not be there until Tuesday. Took my number and said that manager would call me. Never heard from anyone. It’s not about money, it’s the principle of running an historic establishment.

Stayed on 3rd floor room 313 - Pros: friendly staff, good location, clean linens and bathroom. Cons: Broken elevator, very old/worn out window air conditioning unit that worked, but was extremely loud (continuously squeaky fan, loud banging sound when cycling on/off), no after hours onsite staff, broken furniture and railing on front balcony, VERY uncomfortable mattress that sagged in the middle.

There were signs saying that they are doing renovations, however we didn’t see any going on. We could have overlooked a lot (it’s an old historic building,) but the air conditioning unit and mattress were terrible and we got very little sleep. I wish we had paid better attention when we dropped our bags off at check in. We immediately went out for the evening, when we got back late there were no staff at the desk. We stuck it out since it was only one night. Spoke with the staff at check out and played a video of the air conditioning racket, she said she would pass our info to the manager- we haven’t heard from them.

I wish I could write a better review, the people we spoke with there were amazing and they obviously work hard to keep the place very clean, even the older antique furniture pieces. We really enjoy staying at historic properties and can overlook the lack of modern conveniences and their limitations. However the issue with the air conditioner & mattress just made our stay a real bummer.

The ad on Hotels.com states the hotel has free onsite parking. IT DOES NOT! You have to find a spot on the street to park. The ad says \"the front desk is open Monday - Sunday (7:00 AM - 11:00 PM)\" It is not. They have a list of 4 or 5 different phone #s to call if no one is at the desk. When we went to check out, there was a sign saying the clerk would be there at 8am, it was 10 am, even the housekeeper said there was no one when she came in at 9am. There are 4 floors. The elevator does not work and there is no mention of that ANYWHERE until you check in! In several different websites it states restaurant and bar, \"Guests can enjoy lunch daily at Copper Queen Café and dinner is served on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Beer and cocktails are offered at a saloon on site\".
Both were closed when we arrived on Thursday afternoon. Was told both \"may open\" on the weekend
There was no cable TV but lots of streaming but no instructions on how to use anything. No phone in room. Bed was so soft,and leaning toward the head. Shower was so small my 5'3' 155 lb body could barely put my arms up to wash my hair.

Historic and beautiful but not at all accessible.

This is a historic property, so you give up some amenities for the experience. No elevators (lots of stairs) window a/c units and no parking. The location is fantastic, right in the downtown area, steps from shops and dining. So the parking situation gets crazy. When we checked in, we were told we could park in the lot down the street. But that isn’t the hotel’s parking, it’s open to anyone. We stayed three nights and had to park blocks away each night. This is a great hotel if you are going to stay in downtown Bisbee, park your car once and leave it there.

Very disappointed. Especially for the price. Floors up the stairs were dirty you could tell it had not been vacuumed walls had grime and the railings for the stairs. Our bathroom still had not been flushed from either the staff or the last person that stayed in the room, room smelled but I would expect that being how old it is. . Saw 1staff member the hostess at the desk. Will never stay there again

-We only had one chair in our room, and it needed to be repaired

Staying at a property that is part of Bisbee's early history is awesome. We loved being able to walk down the steps across from the hotel entrance to get to the main streets and shops. Having a restaurant on property was also very convenient (I had previously heard that it was hit or miss as to whether or not it was open, but during our stay it was open). Parking is a nightmare, so be prepared. We had to park up an extremely steep hill (even further than where the small 'parking lot' is). I'm not sure there is really anything they can do it about it because that's how the town was structured, but it's just something to be aware of, especially if you have a harder time walking.

I never write reviews but felt an obligation here. Historic, character hotels are appealing to me but Copper Queen was simply old and dirty.
Staff was borderline offensive...more concerned with telling us what liability we would have if we trashed the place than welcoming us. No dedicated parking...had to find a place on the street.
Room did not even have a chair and only a pedestal sink in bathroom with no place to place toiletries.
Stains on carpet in hallways and room. One filthy window with portable air conditioner that would not open to alieviate the musty smell.
Really terrible experience.

Ghost

It was a pleasant stay, bed was a little uncomfortable but that’s the only bad thing I got to say. I honestly wish I got to experience a ghost or something because that’s what the hotel is known for. Would stay again
