best hotel downtown for a motorcycle trip stay. great room, food and location
Leanne
Great hotel, excellent location. No elevator but helpful staff if you need your bags carried up. Building is older, which is charming, but not super quiet.
Kelly
Fantastic place and staff. From check in to meals to check out. It was lovely! Thank you!!
Charles
The hotel is in a great location. The restaurant and cafe were very good. The parking was very convenient.
Kenneth
This is the 9 or 10th time staying at The Adventure other than the one visit that i could hear the Bar 2 nights every other stay has been great
Veronica A.
We had a nice clean and quiet room.
Amelia
Very clean room, had a queen and twin above (bunk bed). Thick door so couldn't hear much from the hallway.
For the price it was pretty good and fresh coffee in the common room in the morning was nice.
Only thing I'd change is to have a reading light for the top bunk as well as enough parking for your guests as if their parking lot is full then you have to pay for parking.

No fridge in room, out dated room for such a high price
Robert
Helpful front desk staff, provided useful information about the area and special events.
Sunil
The room was clean and the staff was very helpful but as with some historic hotels the sound travels and you can hear full conversations in other rooms late at night which kept me up. There is also no elevator. Parking is also first come first serve so you may not be able to get a parking spot especially on weekends.
Montana
Very cool set up. Amazing restaurant and coffee shop just below
Gerald
This is an old hotel that has been refurbished. The room was small, but clean and updated. All the rooms are up at least one full flight of stairs, and there is no elevator.

Nicely renovated downtown hotel with very helpful staff. The rooms were very clean. Location of hotel is excellent right in downtown of Nelson. Parking was adjacent to hotel for free. Very good proximity to restaurants. Very good coffee shop next to the hotel for breakfast, which is not provided by hotel. Coffee available at hotel in morning hours . There is also good restaurant in the hotel.
Carlie
Parking wasn’t great very little guest parking and then you have to pay to park on the street

Only limited parking but besides that a great place to crash for a night or 2
Michael
Everything was great...but...when we decided to call it a night and wanted to watch a bit of TV you scored a big zero. Most hotels have minimum TV selection...but they do give access to a streaming service like Netflix. This hotel did not give us the option. We had to watch the minimum selection. They would have received a perfect score otherwise. Thank you.
Benson
Great stay!
Kendra
Great hotel and great location with parking right downtown. Can walk everywhere. Very clean and quiet. Staff were awesome.
Rosemary
Hotel was in a great location. Had a great vibe and loved the kitchen. Staff was very helpful. Reminded me if my days travelling Europe
Doug
Checking in and checking out was easy. The rooms were clean and simple and we slept well. There is a great coffee shop with amazing fresh baked goods attached to the hotel, as well as a nice restaurant (steak house) and sports pub.
The hotel is located right downtown and has a great price point. We were very pleased and would stay there again.

Despite there being no elevator, the young man on the desk carried my suitcase up to my room. 😊
I liked the decor with exposed brick and wood, and the location was excellent!
There was, however, a silverfish in the bed, but getting the rooms dried out should solve that.

They have bike storage! Staff is incredibly kind to dogs.
Mark
Clean room, comfy bed, quiet, bar and restaurant and coffee shop
Jennifer
A great price. The amenities like kitchen and patio are a great addition. Central to everything.
Sevrin
Guests in the adjoining room checked in ate with kids. Lots of yelling and then parents stepped out leaving kids alone with loud television. Perhaps a reminder to those checking in late to be mindful.

This is a great hotel. Always clean and convenient. Stay here every time we stay in Nelson.
Jill
Coffee was excellent and room was super cute!!!
Nicole
Staff was great
Michael
Location was walkable to everything.
Brian
The hotel and staff were great! Just a heads up for dog owners, there were no places to take your dog to pee. You have to walk at least 10 minutes to find a place. Otherwise, a great spot!!
Kenneth
I have stayed here many times and have been told that the rooms above the sports bar can be loud. I have in the past stayed in them with no issues to report but Thursday trivia mc and microphone was annoying , Karaoke Saturday was a nightmare So advise all to avoid these rooms but not the hotel itself as everything else about this place is great
Alexis
Super clean and cozy! It’s great you can bring your dog too for a small extra fee!
Janine
Party people in the hallways till 5am. No noise control.
Laura
Very clean and wonderful staff.
Tim
Great clean and tidy hotel. Right down town.
Dianne
It had an ugly plastic camp chair for a seat and a home built bunk bed that looked unfinished. Way too rugged for that price
Wendy
Clean, retro modern vibe. Fun place to stay- great location.
Pamela
The hotel overall is great, just lacking parking spots
Graham
Very friendly place to stay
Cameron
Room was clean and hotel was unique. Loved the atmosphere.

Pros:
- staff were excellent - friendly, helpful, prompt
- free coffee and tea is a nice touch
- location
Cons:
- the noise…it was absolutely impossible to sleep before midnight on the weekends due to the pub noise. Even with ear plugs, you will be feeling the vibrations and able to hear each and every word from the karaoke night which runs from 9-12 on Saturdays. This was briefly mentioned to us at checkin (but at this point it’s too late we had already booked and arrived with nowhere else to stay!) but is not very clear online especially if you book through a third party website as we did. Somewhere you can find in small print that some of the rooms are right above the pub and *might* experience extra noise but it is truly insufferable. There should be a pop-op or something when you try to book on a weekend with a disclaimer re: this situation as I did not feel I was adequately informed when booking.
All that to say I would stay again on a weekday but never a weekend.

Clean, modernized, well-appointed, but it is an old, creaky building. Friendly people, nice bar, great coffee shop.
Justin
Everything was great! We love Nelson and this hotel is a perfect spot to stay.
Cristina
Great service nice rooms! Appreciated that they were pet friendly and had a nice little kitchen for us to use.
LISA M
Stay was good. Unfortunately our room was above the pub and pool room. So a bit if noise until about 1130 pm
Katie
Everything here was excellent, the room was super clean, bedding was so cozy, staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and we loved the convenient location and connected restaurant, bar, and coffee shop!

Disappointing Stay – Poor Sleep Due to Constant Noise, Faulty Heater, and No Real Compensation
We checked into The Adventure Hotel in Nelson on January 10, 2026, and checked out the next morning after a very frustrating night. Upon returning to our room in the evening, we discovered the TV wasn’t working at all, so no chance to relax and unwind as planned.
The real issue was the lack of sleep. The wall-mounted heater/cooling unit produced a loud, intermittent buzzing noise that went on all night – impossible to ignore. The floors were extremely creaky; even walking to the bathroom woke up my partner every time. To top it off, around 4 a.m., someone in the room above us started moving furniture or chairs, creating even more disruptive banging.
When checking out, I politely explained the issues to the front desk staff and mentioned I hadn’t slept at all due to the constant noise. I was hoping for some goodwill, like a significant discount or a future credit, but all we received was a generic apology and a note that the room would be added to the repair list. They also mentioned we could have called for a room change (they had availability), but who wants to pack up in the middle of the night, move, and try to settle back in just to get a few hours of rest?
We’ve stayed at the Hume Hotel several times and always had excellent, quiet, comfortable experiences there. We decided to try the Adventure Hotel this time for a change, but it was a big mistake.

Very accommodating staff. Great food at both restaurants
Leah
Great location, clean and simple rooms. I really like the coffee shop, bar and restaurant just downstairs. Great for our hockey weekend!
Tom
Clean convenient and comfortable.
Lisa
Perfect for two ladies having a girls night out. It was about off having only a frosted glass door to the bathroom though, thankfully we are good friends.
Stacy
Nice clean room, very friendly helpful staff and close to where we were spending our Halloween night. The only things I didn't like was the lighting in the bathroom, pretty dim. Other than that, great place.

Was very loud people next door were fighting , music blaring , got woke up at 6am from neighbours playing music very loudly again . Hardly got any sleep and was there because my husband was in the hospital so I just needed some rest and be relaxed and it was the complete opposite:(
Jason
Location was good. Rooms were small, the “fireplace” didn’t give off heat, definitely just for ambience. Room was considered deluxe but seemed pretty standard. Not many cable channels but we were able to stream Netflix through our phone which was good to drown out the noise of the pub that was directly below.

I was here for work, hotel is in a great location to walk to several restaurants. The hotel pub has good food and several TV to watch sports!! Rooms are clean and comfortable.
Madeline
We loved our room, location, and cost. We will definitely be back.
bridgette
Great to have a quality restaurant and a bar on premises. The communal kitchen is fun also.
Georgina
My husband and I stayed for one night in an economy Queen. It was clean and well planned out. Staff at the front desk were very friendly, kind and helpful they were really nice to speak with. The bar and restaurant attached were fantastic. We arrived late so had dinner in the bar. Pizza was incredible as were the little pork ribs bites. Overall the hotel was great and I would definitely stay there again but next time I would get a bigger room. It’s a beautiful heritage building right downtown walkable to everything.
Stephanie
It was clean and close to everything.
Tanya
Upon check-in we were told the room I booked was over the bar and there was karaoke until midnight. The room was booked over a month ago with no disclosure about this. There was no other rooms we could move to. Very disappointing. We were up early to get on the road with very little sleep. Disappointing as the hotel is in an excellent location and the rooms were clean and updated.
Douglas
Check in was very good, hostess was very friendly and knowledgeable
Jerry
Multi story had no elevator. Disabled unfriendly. Nice room and great bathroom. Watched a small drug deal go down in the ally, but saw police presence late night.
cameron
Older property that has had some upgrades to the rooms.
Positives:
Room was clean, comfortable bed and nice new shower. No coffee, microwave or fridge in the room but these can be found in the guest lounge. Coffee was much better than most complimentary hotel brew. Patio area is a nice spot to relax, though it is set up for smokers so might not be for everyone if you’re not fond of the smell of cigarettes. Front desk and cleaning staff were quite friendly. Great location close to pretty much everything you want to see in downtown. Lots of nearby dining and shopping options.
Not so positives:
Parking at the hotel is very limited and the area around the hotel can be extremely busy, so be prepared for a walk to get to the hotel. Not sure if there is daily parking somewhere close by because all street parking is metered during the week.
This is a noisy property. The bar below is open until 11 most nights and is especially loud on karaoke nights (Saturday) which go until midnight. If outside sound is an issue book through the hotel and make sure your room is away from the bar. Unfortunately there is no escaping the extremely squeaky floors. If you’re not alone, it’s impossible to not disturb the other person if you get up early or get in late.
Lastly, the bathroom window is not frosted or tinted so if anyone in any of the nearby condos has a voyeuristic personally you’re somewhat exposed. Not a comfortable feeling. Highly recommend the hotel invest in some tinting film.

Great help from the staff when needed. Went above and beyond for accommodating our needs and a forgotten charger. :)
Lauren
Top location. Rooms were a good size. Gorgeous view of the mountains.
Donna
This hotel is a bit of a gem. It's an older hotel that has been somewhat updated which actually makes it a little eclectic. I really liked that! The rooms where clean, but our windows where not. I basically kept the blinds closed. The bed and linens were very comfy. The hotel has a pub, restaurant and a cafe. You couldn't ask for more. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great location. Walking to shopping, restaurants and the water. Parking is limited. Rooms are nice and clean but could use a mini fridge. Hotek restaurant, cafe and bar were all good. The bar had truvia nights on thursday. That was fun.

The front staff were all so friendly and the restaurants attached were yummy, that’s about the only good thing about this hotel. The rooms were super outdated, the beds were not comfortable at all, and the parking situation was ridiculous. There was very limited parking or you had to pay. I paid nearly $700 to stay there only to also have to pay for parking, or just not be at the hotel until 9pm at night and make sure I’m out before 9am so I didn’t get a ticket. Don’t even get complimentary breakfast for the price it is to stay there.

Very tiny room

Great Receptionist
Ashley was at the front desk when I arrived. She gave me the room key early since the room was ready, and she offered excellent suggestions on places I might enjoy going for a walk. Ashley made me feel very welcome, and greeted me by name every time I walked by the front desk.

Pedal Biked to the Hotel
It was nice to be downtown, was told by the staff there would be bike parking inside when made the reservation, not so much when we arrived and had to put bikes in our room. Was quiet and communal area with refrigerator was nice.

Would be super fun to stay there with a group.

Nelson Hotel
Good location. As advertised it is a backpackers hotel, and may be aimed more at that clientele . We missed there being no fridges and procedure to turn TV on defeated our group. Staff was good and condition of rooms were good

For the price, the hotel was awesome!
Clean, good service, awesome restaurants at the bottom, super cool lounge area with a sauna!
Only problem was the super hard bed, mattress could be replaced ! And pressure on shower and water a bit stronger!
Great for 1-2 nights if you recover from back soreness quick!

Fantastic downtown spot with all the conveniences needed when traveling!

The location is perfectly centred right in the town. The building is old and has character which I like, but best of all it’s very clean! The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s my second day there and I would certainly stay there again!
