Very nice and comfy little place with basic creature comforts, you check in with a code the property manager sends via email, no front office or desk to check in, I loved the place, centrally located in Mackinac city, walking distance to everything, the parking lot is dark at night but the place is safe, left the motorcycles in the parking lot with on issues what so ever, if you are looking for basic accommodations for a really reasonable price, this is the place

Clean room, adequate. Not good communication.

I gave it a mostly good rating as the room was newly updated, clean and the bed was very comfortable. There are some things they can do to make it look a little nicer but it was perfect for what we needed. The worst part was the communication. We never got the email to give us our room number, code or wifi password. We had to call and even then they said the info needed to check in would come from where I booked it (hotels.com) which was odd as the chat I got from the hotel said it would come from them. They also said parking was included, well the lot was full so I had to park on the street in the \"3 hour parking zone\". Luckily we didn't get a ticket. I messaged them asking about parking and they just didn't reply. Wish they would have communicated better.

I did not like that the sign did not match the name of the hotel. I did not like that there was no one on site at the motel the entire time we were there. The parking lot and outside of the motel needs maintenance and the bathrooms need to be updated.

The young man who cleaned the rooms was incredibly helpful and saved me, twice. The room was recently remodeled so don’t be put off by the outside. A couple minor inconveniences…tough to plug things in and I think our remote needed new batteries. Other than that, I would stay there again.

The passcode didn't work; our message to host received no reply. Next door neighbor couldn't get our passcode to work either. She was also waiting for host reply since there was a strong smell of gas in the small house they paid for. The whole place is not cared for. We had to book a different hotel, and there's no communicating with them now.

I selected a bedroom with two beds as described on the picture. They only put me in bedroom that only had one bed. They had to transfer me to a different hotel that had a bedroom with two beds. Kinda like a tourist trap.

PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE!!!!

If I could say ONE thing about this place, it would be \"JUST DON'T!!!!!\"
This was, without a doubt, the worst place I have ever been. The name is Welcome Inn, not Apple Blossom Boutique. We arrived at night, and there are NO LIGHTS. There is NO ONE that actually works there and you have to TRY to call and get someone to respond. Once you FINALLY get in, you immediately regret your decision. Filthy is an understatement. Broken window, NO HEAT, disgusting tub/shower, and the list goes on. Worst of all, THE BUGS!!!! They were everywhere in the room. After many calls and angry messages, we left and went to another hotel... at 11:30pm. We just wanted to get out of there. Please, if you are considering staying there, JUST DON'T!!!

I travel for work and I’ve never in 14 years, been given a room that wasn’t cleaned. There was used towels still on the bathroom floor, trash cans not emptied, wads of hair in shower drain. Looked like they came in and changed the sheets and left. It’s an older motel in a great location to the ferry and someone is obviously trying to update it. It’s unmanned, they just give you a code for the door which I actually like but there is no excuse for not giving your guests a clean room.

It’s troubling that Hotels.com even lists this place as an option. If it was a low-price hostel, it might be passable. The amount of misrepresentation, however, is startling. The rest of the reviews pretty much cover the details.

Total dump! No thermostat for heat (50 degrees outside). No deadbolt on door (broken, chain missing) No on-site personnel, check in is remote on line, super shady. No sign at property, so hard to find. So bad we couldn’t stay there, and refund was refused.

There is nobody at location for service when you call it rings to another hotel. That hotel told me they email you a code for the door. The office was not an office it was full of \"stuff\". The air conditioner was on it's last leg, very loud, had to shut it off. The smoke detector was beeping. Told the person that happened to be there. He took the battery out and said he'd get a new one tomorrow. We spent no time in there. When we came back to sleep, we thought we should use our sleeping bags and sleep on top of the horrible mattress. Pulled back the cover because the bed spread was stained. a few minutes later I looked and saw what appeared to be a bed bug on the end of the bed. WE HURRIED OUT AND ATTEMPTED TO SLEEP IN THE CAR! The next day we let Expedia know and the property would NOT refund our money!

Rooms are very nice and clean, you get a code to get into the room, no front office to check in, the parking lot is spacious but dark at night no lights, other than the parking lot being dark at night I felt very safe around the area and very convenient, everything is walking distance, loved it

While I knew that the property had no front office, I was not expecting anything else that happened. First, the name of the motel was not located on any sign outside, and the address was not posted either. By the time of check in, I had not received the email with the room number, access code, and internet password, so I had to call Expedia. They contacted the motel office, and Expedia provided me with the room number and access code. The code did not work, and only then did Expedia provide me with the phone number for the motel office. I was given a code that did work, and only by midnight of the first night did the email arrive with the information I had already been provided. Despite a few calls to the office, I never was able to connect to the internet; the password was incorrect. The motel room looked like the pictures online, but there were many dead bugs in the bathtub when I arrived, no mirror in the bathroom, and on the second night, when it rained, many spiders came in through window/AC unit and door frame. I ended up leaving after only two nights, even though I reserved four.

The location was great. The cleaning guy was great and very friendly. The motel has nice knotty pine walls which makes it feel cozy. Now for the worst part there was flip flops in the room from past tenants and the floor was caving in in several areas, myself having bad knees if you forget where all the soft spots are it can twist your knees, so that was painful.

I realize that this is a new management takeover. Interior updates present-exterior in process.
Safety issue: Hot water too hot and the tub has to fixtures with no mixing valve. Child could get scalded.
Switch next to the exit door operate an outlet where not only a room light is plugged in, but also the tv-spectrum box-microwave and the mini fridge. Solution have a notice posted next to switch; or remove switch and make a direct connect to outlet and install blue tooth switch for lamp.

We were booked for a total of three nights but only stayed one night. The carpeting looked dirty and the room smelled musty. There were spiders in the bathroom and rusty water when we turned on the shower.

The only thing good I can say is the bed looked clean so we stayed for only the one night.

For an older motel, I thought our room was very nice. It looked exactly like the photo & was very clean. I loved that I could park my car in the lot & easily walk to the bakery, downtown & the ferry all within one small city block. Everything to get registered & the code to the locked door is online if you have Expedia. Yes, they have hot water, just had to let the water get from the other side of the building over to our room. The owner was very gracious. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! As an older woman with 2 young grand daughters with me, I found it very safe & convenient. Thank you!!

The outside of the building had spider webs all over, the building its self looked like it needed upgraded. The inside was a total suprise it was all redone and looked amazing. The celing needed to be fixed tho it was sagging. Need nore plugs as well. Thier was no one thier to help if needed any questions, nore a phone number to call.

I did not have a stay at the Apple Blossom Hotel because it DOES NOT EXIST! The motel at the supplied address is called the \"Welcome Inn\" and the building is similar except all of the paint is peeling on the exterior and there are no flowers (Nice job Photoshop artist). There is no on-site staff. Word has it that hotels in Mackinaw city are all owned by the same company. Can you spell \"Monopoly\"? Make sure you check your booking details when you reserve a NON_REFUNDABLE room. My mistake, we arrived a week before our booked date and were forced to get another $200+ room in another \"Shitholea\" hotel. Hotels.com was unable or unwilling to give us a refund since they \"couldn't get hold of the property owner\" I'll never stay in Mackinaw City again or use Hotels.com.

God, oh god, book something else

Hands-down the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Bathroom floor was broken and showing bare wood. Bathroom mirror was broken. Bed was old and had huge troughs, sheets were not clean. The entry door was an interior door. There was a power strip full of cords running everywhere. Lamp near the bed went on and off as it jiggled. The TV did not work. The room smelled musty. A stairway to the apartment above was 2 feet from the bed and loud all night. Office was closed and I had to drive a mile down the road to a Days Inn to get the key. Phone number for service did not work.

1970s Everything and mold...At $270 a night!

The location of this (apparently) adorable motel couldn't be better...A block from the beach and the hub of tourism of the city.
We got there to find a note on the \"office\" window to drive to the Days Inn about a mile away (through the middle of previously mentioned tourist hub) to check in.
Once we got in the room, it reeks of mold and quite literally everything is out of the 1970s. All the way down to the alarm clock and high flow shower head! Mold in the tiling and in the corners of the bathroom, and in the window. The shower curtain was even torn and there were cobwebs behind the night stand...
A room a few doors down from us had no cable, and the people in the room next door had mold in their room as well. This place couldn't pay me to stay again.... but with a little BASIC effort, it could be a great motel.

Check in was a huge pain. They lost the booking we had made over the phone a month earlier. Had to scramble to get two available rooms. What they fail to mention is the Welcome Inn seems to be the over flow motel or where the help stays. Water pressure sucks. Everything had to be plugged in.

My Fiance and I chose this venue for 1 night to save some money. All surrounding hotels were at least $200 a night and we weren't willing to spend that knowing we would be there only a few hours prior to traveling to our next destination. That being said $80 was not well spent here. We were unable to check in on site, however, the hotel to check in at was down the street (not across town as some people stated in reviews). Check in was easy and we had a place to sleep. However, I was very thankful that we read the reviews prior. We saw that many people said that the rooms were somewhat dirty. Since we traveled by car, we brought our own pillows and blankets to sleep with. I am SO THANKFUL we did this. The sheets were stained and I honestly am not sure if they had even been washed. Given the current COVID outbreak, this was very concerning. I would not recommend staying here, but if for some reason you have to, bring your own sheets.. and perhaps some shower shoes. Was very disappointed by this establishment's lack of cleanliness during a time when it is more important than ever.
