We booked a 3 night stay at the Tenya explorer Cabins, the overall experience of Yosemite views and waterfalls was Spectacular, the food at Jackolopes grill 2 out of 5 (disappointing )we ordered chicken alfredo, and the lettuce wraps, very poor in flavor, stick to the basics buffalo wings clam chowder and fries. The cabin prices vs their service and amenities is very poor the cabins are NOT stocked with utensils, or coffee mugs, there is no stove and they are building the club house so we were woken up by hammering and forklifts Monday Tuesday and Wednesday! They promised me free breakfast delivered to my room but I did not receive it unless I drove to the deli used the grabbed and go service.For the inconvenience They could of accommadated me alot better i went for oeace and quiet and was in the middle of a construction site

The room was very clean, staff is very friendly and professional. I love that we had 2 restaurants on site and a deli, making it easy to plan either eating there or taking something for our hike! Location is very convenient for us. The whole lodge is beautiful! We definitely will be coming back :)

The hotel was inside the national park amongst a number of similar properties. It has a popular bar and restaurant which gets busy as it is also used by other hotel guests. The rooms are very functional no frills. Self check in is helpful although you will likely need to find a member of staff for direction to the lodges.

Worth noting all non US residents have a park tax which is essential to enter the park and as this hotel is inside the national park it is not accessible without paying $100 dollar per adult to access.

Great location. About 10 minutes to Yosemite South Gate. Pet friendly- offers our fur babies their own menus. Very kids friendly. Spa is a bit on the expensive side but well worth it. We we’ll definitely stay there again.

Beautiful location and excellent pub restaurant.

The building is on the older side and we had to change rooms after not sleeping during the night due to a clanking noise in the ceiling. The front desk agent Noyal was great and changed (upgraded) our room immediately.

The Spa was very clean and i had a fabulous massage.

Overall, a very nice hotel if you want to visit Yosemite National Park.

I had such high hopes for my stay at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, especially given the beautiful location and everything it promises but unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to that at all.

From the start, things just felt off. Service was inconsistent, and it often felt like basic hospitality details were overlooked. There were multiple moments where I had to follow up or figure things out on my own, which took away from what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway. For a place that markets itself as a luxury mountain retreat, I expected a lot more attentiveness and care.

The environment itself is undeniably beautiful ,Yosemite is stunning ,but the experience inside the lodge didn’t match that energy. When you’re paying for a certain level of comfort and service, those little things really matter, and unfortunately, they added up.

I’m sharing this not to be negative, but to be honest. I really wanted to love this place, and maybe others have had better experiences, but mine just wasn’t it.

If you’re planning a trip, just go in with realistic expectations the location is incredible, but the stay itself may not match

Overall a really disappointing experience. This was supposed to be special, but ended up being the worst two nights of our 12 day trip. First, our reservation was wrong. The hotel blamed the website? We could not get the two queen beds nor mountain view that was the literal draw for us. We were offered a room in the lodge but would still be one king so no point, declined it. Went back to the cottage and found the carpet was ripped and stained and it looked like mold around the window frame. In mountain lion territory, we had two chairs in a tree filled and dark dirt patch as our “mountain view”. The following day we were offered a room in the lodge with 2 queen beds but by the time we got back from the park it was too late to pack up and move, especially since we were leaving early the next morning. Also the hot tub in cottage area was unusable and laundry room was dingy.

The staff was accommodating but I was upset they couldn’t remedy the mistake. They didn’t offer a reduced rate or even a dining credit.

The food, though, was great and the overall condition of the lodge itself was nice. I would not ever come back though.

We have stayed here before and noticed some subtle changes. We do like how they provide some water bottles as a complimentary gift but noticed that there is no more taffy or trail mix offered as a snack in the lobby. Also, for your birthday I did receive a welcome gift last year but no gift was offered or no discount for the Jackolopes restaurant. Thanks!

The hotel was outstanding and truly went above and beyond in every way. They accommodated my request for a cabin with a balcony without hesitation, which I greatly appreciated.
The entire staff, from the front desk to the shuttle drivers and restaurant team, were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay.
The cabin itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and offered amazing views. The amenities were absolutely worth it and added to the overall comfort of the experience.
I highly recommend this hotel 100%. It’s especially perfect for families looking for comfort, great service, and a memorable stay.

The room was clean and I loved the option when we checked in to have daily housekeeping or not. I love to sleep in on vacation-not be waken up by housekeeping. There were some areas in the walls that looked like they need replastering and the toilet seat would not stay put no matter how often we tried to screw it still.
However, the ambience of the room was wonderful. Loved the cozy fireplace with the sitting set outside for evening viewing.

We spent 3 nights and 4 days during spring break and with our family and friends, everything was so convenient and onsite. Yosemite was just a couple of miles away and a lot of fun activities in the lodge itself for the kiddos and family. They give out bikes for a trial behind at no cost. If you have a 4-5 year old, take a small bike along. Rest they can provide. Also had fun activities like rock climbing. You can still drive down nearby for fun food and restaurants or DoorDash (glamping). But still get to spend all day hiking at the falls or the trees. Overall, well worth it. Our friends a few years ago did a whole cottage. We just got rooms next to each other and kids were able to hang out in the evenings. Staff was very considerate and accommodating. All in all, highly recommend! I’ll probably go back again to explore more.

My wife and I try to visit every couple of months…. 280 miles from Los Angeles…. About 5 hours with One Stop! 13 miles away from the resort us Oakwood and they have everything!

Game room was mainly for younger kids. Indoor pool water was cloudy , and didn’t look clean. We tried the pizzeria , and quality of food was not that good. Location was pretty far from grocery stores and restaurants. But it was pretty close to the national park entrance. What I liked was that our teenage son had his own room in our cottage.

We have stayed here several times and it’s always great. The most recent was right in the middle of a huge snow storm and the property lost power and the generator died. The staff was really kind and informative about it all and provided a buffet meal of cold cuts and such. The generator was fixed after a few hours and power was restored. Very smooth and efficient given the crazy storm. We will surely return.

Hotel is quiet old, and out experience was disappointing. We stayed for one night and unfortunately did not have a good stay. The pillow had an unpleasant smell, and the carpet also smelled musty.

The breakfast was also disappointing. Overall, the the hotel did not meet our expectation, especially considering the price.

We've always wanted to stay at Tenaya so we finally made it happen for Spring Break. Stayed for 5 nights.

Pros:
Pet friendly - we reserved a Patio room with 2 queen size bed. I couldn't splurge on a cabin so I was hoping to book an oversize room but those were not allowed with pets. Traveling with 2 bulldogs with their crates can take up some room but we managed. The room given to us was right by the outdoor pool which had some grassy area, perfect short walk for our senior dog. They have doggie bags and trash bins all over the property.
The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy.
Laundry room with free washer and dryer! Just have to bring your own detergent or buy a pack for $2.
Free smores stuff - chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers.

It was misleading. The pictures and amenities they advertise were subpar at best. I won't be going back. They should really let people know that the rock climbing station will be down, and the breakfast is way overpriced. They get enough through the price of the room that you would think you can have a free breakfast. Also the bathrooms have no lock. There is no extra room outside the bathroom to change like most hotels have. Pretty much it was a let down and they play off the fact that your so deep in the woods and raise prices your forced to pay. The bar closes at 9pm. My wife and I decided to go have a drink and relax. It was 8:55pm and we didn't realize we showed up to last call.

We had a great stay at Tenaya. We stayed in the Cottages. It was nice. It's a short walk away from the resort so it was easy to access. We shared a building with two other units. One of those seemed like maybe they were sleep training a baby so we had to deal with that every day and it was a little annoying but we have kids so we get it. Parking next to our unit was very easy and we had a nice patio so that was great. The AC/Heater was very loud which we didn't love. Luckily we didn't really need it and there was a fireplace that was quieter to heat. The staff was great. The amenities were good - we only used pool, game room and smores stuff but that was fun. And they had a bunny scavenger hunt for Easter and the kids loved it. The location is close to Yosemite Park entrance which is handy!

There were activities for all ages. My teenage boys enjoyed the free arcade room, bike rentals, and archery. To top off the evening, We truly enjoyed the complimentary smores kit. Overall our stay was pleasant and relaxing, We look forward to visiting next year.

This is a very nice and clean hotel. The entire staff is really friendly and accommodating. We had a concern with a fear my wife had and they immediately made changes for us. They have an indoor and outdoor pool as well as an indoor and outdoor spa. The restaurant is good, but if you are on the go, they have a small deli with premade sandwiches and other snacks and drinks. They also serve Starbucks drinks. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Right next to the hotel, there is an easy and scenic hiking trail that takes you to a small waterfall. It's a beautiful trail, Big Sandy Road Trail. There is no doubt we will stay here again.

We loved our stay. There were lots of things to do like make s’mores, game room, indoor pool, archery, bikes, nature walks. Some of the amenities were shut down due to weather and renovations, but we still found plenty to do. Food choices are very limited here as only one small store was open and one restaurant. Other than that we loved it and will be back soon.

We chose this hotel because it was listed as “dog-friendly,” and we were traveling with our small 15 lb dog who is very calm, well behaved, and mostly sleeps throughout the day. The property itself is actually very nice, clean, and in a great location,especially if you’re planning to be close to Yosemite.
However, our experience was heavily impacted by the pet policy. While the hotel advertises being dog-friendly, the rules felt very strict and, at times, intimidating. We were told that pets could be removed if there were any issues, and that possibility created a lot of anxiety during our stay. Leaving without our dog isn’t an option for us, so the uncertainty made it hard to relax.
Because of this, we ended up staying in the room more than we planned and ordering room service, which was quite expensive. Unfortunately, this made the trip feel like a waste of money since we couldn’t fully enjoy the area as intended. I would strongly recommend that the hotel clearly outline all pet policies upfront so guests can make informed decisions before booking. For travelers with pets,especially non-service animals, it’s important to be aware that even though the hotel is labeled “dog-friendly,” the policies may feel restrictive.
Overall, the hotel itself is beautiful and could be a great stay for guests without pets or those traveling with service animals, but for pet owners like us, it may not be the best fit.

The room needs a lot of updates, thorn carpet, missing hook in bathroom, chipped bathtub and loose metal step before you get into the room which makes a lot of noise while disturbing other guests. We’ve stayed at Tenaya multiple times and just feel like it’s going down in quality. When we checked in the lady was a bit rude and that was our first impression of the resort. Not a great start. Food at the main dining is awful and the price is $25 per plate for a 2 star quality.

The Tenaya at Yosemite is heaven on earth. We stayed in an Explorer Cabin and couldn't have been happier. Our cabin was clean, roomy, updated, comfortable, private, and included all of the amenities we could have possibly needed. The location of the Deluxe Cabins are about a 7-8 minute walk to the main resort. We didn't take advantage of their free shuttle and either walked it or drove ourselves. The main resort is absolutely beautiful, warm, and inviting. The food at Jackalope's, where we dined every evening, is delicious and the prices are affordable. The concierge (Angela and Karla) is extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the archery range and the instructors were wonderful. We very much appreciated the complimentary grab-n-go breakfasts every morning at the Parkside Deli (to make up for the Explorer Clubhouse currently being under renovation). It was a very generous offering that saved us a ton of money. We look forward to returning to this lovely paradise in the future.
