Stayed in a premium king room for 3 nights. The lodge and room were well maintained and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was a keurig in the room or you could purchase coffee in the lobby store along with snacks, sandwiches, salads etc. The jackalope restaurant was mostly good (except for the chicken breast that was pre-made and heated to add to various items on the menu.) The pool area looked nice and there was live music and s’mores in the evening along with other activities that we didn’t partake in. It was about 1 to 1.5 hours to get to Yosemite Village. The Lodge was awesome but I might stay in the village next time to be closer to the action. The village, however, was very crowded.

I originally selected a cottage, but those are very outdated and outside of the main lodge, which made it extremely inconvenient. We asked to be changed to a new room and we were lucky to get transferred to the main lodge. The rooms in the Lodge were updated less than 2 years ago and they are very well kept. The amenities throughout the resort were very good and the overall experience was great. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly at all times and all the restaurants and bars on premises were very good with good dishes for every taste. I will definitely return to the Tenaya Lodge next time I'm in the area. Another perk is that the resort is about 5 to 7 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite National Park; if you are looking for an upscale experience, the Tenaya Lodge is the best choice. The Ahwahnee Hotel inside the Park is historic and very beautiful, but the prices don't add up to the confort and cleanliness of the Tenaya Lodge, which is lower or comparable in price; hands down a better choice if you don't have to stay inside the park.

Property is only five minutes from Mariposa Grove / south gate of Yosemite, but be aware it is a 45 minute drive to the major attractions in Yosemite Valley. Food was very good but could use a lower price option. Make your own s'mores firepits is a nice touch

We chose this property based on others’ recommendations. They were not wrong! :)
Tenaya is perfectly situated just south of the Mariposa entrance to Yosemite. Easily identifiable from CA 41, it offers plenty of parking. The resort offers inviting grounds to explore while you visit. The main Lodge is straight out of your imagination - an inviting fireplace in the great room, family-friendly activities and quiet, spacious & comfortable guest rooms. There is a great selection of food available onsite, refillable water stations, even a pool-side beach bar. The staff is courteous and completely responsive to your needs. We definitely endorse Tenaya!

Unfortunately, we got put in a cabin that was in a construction zone. The walkway to our cabin was blocked by construction items. The construction workers parked in our parking spots and were smoking near our cabin. The construction noise wasn’t too bad because we were really only at our cabin in the evening, but it was really not ready to be rented. It will be nice when it’s complete. We had no warning that we were going to be in your construction or that there was construction going on.

This property is beautiful and has everything a family could ever want! They have a big indoor pool, a kid's splash area, a pool for adults only and a family pool, hot tube, yard games, fire pits, game room....great. The only negatives are there are no microwaves in the rooms, the parking lots get full and you may not be able to park anywhere near your room, after being at Yosemite all day, and there is VERY limited options for reasonably priced food for kids.

Worth going. We got a cabin. Super secluded.

Only bummer is everything and I mean everything shuts down at 10pm. They need the bar to go till 12. Especially on weekends. Kinda stupid.

Other bummer is pool bar opens at 1pm. Should be open at 11-12 latest.

I didn't realize I had picked such a nice place since I did it based on location. But when we had terrible weather, it was great to come back from Yosemite drenched and stand in front of the roaring fire. And get good food in the hotel and not need to get wet going out again. People even made s'mores and swam in the rain! If I go back I will definitely stay here again!

Mixed feelings about this hotel. The main lodge is great. Updated property, friendly staff, large pool, good restaurant, plenty of sit down areas to relax, and some nice amenities. Problem is I did not stay in the main lodge, I stayed in their cottages, and this is where the review suffers. The cottages are advertised as a private option a short walk from the lodge. This is false advertising. Each cottage has one main entrance that leads to three separate room doors, so the cottage has shared walls and parking with other guests. One of the rooms is upstairs so chances are you get to wake up to kids stomping around in the morning. The rooms themselves are about the equivalent of a $100 motel. Carpets are gross, everything has that sticky feeling to it, squeaky fans, water that takes five minutes to get hot, and the patio was a mud pit with a couple chairs in it. I might stay in one of the lodge rooms if the price is right, but the cottage rooms are a huge disappointment.

It’s a beautiful location. We came in June perfect weather. The pool is amazing. The food is ok not the best. The breakfast buffet is not that great. And the service in the restaurant was not the best customer service. The front staff was not as welcoming or informative as I wish they should’ve. The shuttle drivers were the kindest. Over all I would come again perfect place for kids I came with 5 kids they loved the pool and the activities offered. Just wish they had better customer service

Cool way to sorta experience a cabin/lodge/cottage without paying the expensive prices of Airbnb. The best way to think of the lodge portion of this property is a cabin split up into 2-3 different sections and no kitchen/living room. Our cottage had 2 rooms upstairs with 1 private room (queen bed), 1 restroom, and 1 king bed in a common area.

We had camped the night before and spent the last 2 full days at yosemite so we were all very tired. So we booked into our room, enjoyed the cabin feeling for a while, took a well needed shower, got a shuttle to the main hotel to have a nice late dinner (great but expensive), and all got a great night sleep. No need for a full cabin.

The property is beautiful and surrounded by even more beautiful land. The room was immaculate and even came with two refillable aluminum water bottles. I loved that they had water bottle refill stations including one that offered flavors and electrolytes which is very convenient when your trip revolves around hiking like mine did.
S’mores were offered for free each night and all of the arcade games were free as well. We ate at the onsite restaurant, Jackalopes, and the food was very good. Service was a tad bit slow but it was a busy Friday night when most guests were just arriving for their stay.
This hotel is only about 20 minutes from Oakhurst which has amenities like grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. Yosemite is only about 10 minutes away as well. I am eager to come back!

Tenaya was a beautiful lodge with a wide range of excellent amenities. We would absolutely stay there again in the future. We especially appreciated the convenience of having restaurants, a general store, and a water refill station with clean, great-tasting water all on site. One thing to note is that housekeeping services are available upon request, so you'll need to ask if you'd like your room serviced during your stay.

Jackalope's restaurant inside the main building was great. The deli across the hall had hot breakfast items and late night pizzas.

(The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the pizzeria by the cottages. Food and staff didn't rise to the level of everything else.)

Excellent experience, having travelled much of the world and stayed at high end hotels. The room was spacious, well equipped and had a gorgeous fireplace. Staff were exceptional. Quality and service at the restaurant was great, enough to overlook the maître d' being somewhat disinterested at the beginning.
Free smores every night, bonfires, and a virtually endless selection of activities makes you want to not visit Yosemite and stay at the hotel instead.

Serene cabin with a balcony in the woods. Enjoyed our morning coffee with the view and sounds of nature. The room was clean with a super comfortable bed, mini fridge, coffee maker and a fireplace. The main hotel was not too far and had beautifully maintained grounds. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The deli/coffee shop had great coffee and ample choices of snacks and breakfast items to go! After a long day of hiking I wish the sauna was open till later! Did not get to use!

It was the most beautiful hotel/resort I have ever been! Everything is very tastefully decorated. The amenities are gorgeous with an outdoor pool area, and a fantastic indoor pool. If you have kids it’s the perfect combo of being surrounded by nature and enjoying great entertainment options. I’ll be back!

Pretty property in the perfect location to visit the park. There are no restaurants around so you're limited to restaurants there. Staff is so helpful and the ambiance at the lodge is relaxing.
A microwave in the room would be nice.
Mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable. Staff put in an order about it, however it was not resolved.

Parking is bad when the hotel is busy. No parking spots close to the main buidling or a second building behind it after about 6pm. If you are out enjoying the park or the small towns in the area you will have to park in their lower parking lot which is a bit of a walk to your room.

Great lodge with all amenities close to Yosemite National park. We stayed mid May to see the park. Restaurants on site are great so you don't need to drive 22 miles down the mountain. One fine dining was out of our budget range. The other was very nice with great service. Unfortunately the pizza restaurant was closed so we needed to eat at the one restaurant available. Enjoyed the outdoor seating to eat, listen to live guitarist and fun fire pits to make your own smores .

Beautiful hotel, very comfortable bed. Great staff. It takes about an hour to get to Yosemite valley from the hotel. Only criticisms are that the prices at the grille seemed a bit excessive and I’ve never been a fan of the bathroom door being an unlockable barn door style door. Otherwise, great place to stay.

Overall, we had a good stay at Tenaya at Yosemite and would recommend it to everyone! The resort itself is nice and the amenities were great.
However, we did run into a couple of hiccups. First, there was a miscommunication with the activities. They had moved to a different location, but nobody told us when we checked in, so we ended up following the map to the wrong spot. A heads-up at check-in would have been super helpful.
Second, the free breakfast is provided through the Deli, and unfortunately, the staff there were pretty rude and acted like they didn’t want to be at work. Since the free breakfast voucher is worth $15 per person and the buffet breakfast is $25, I really wish the hotel would offer an option to just pay the $10 difference to upgrade to the buffet. It would be a much better experience than dealing with the deli for a decent breakfast.
Aside from those couple of things, it’s a really good resort and we’d definitely come back!

The room was clean, although the drainage system is extremely slow. This is. Family friendly resort with plenty of activities for the children. I appreciate the free bike usage for guests. I would suggest they update their restaurants as the food is pretty bad. The kids pizza was good, everything else is just passable.

It seems that there are no available staff at 6am to direct you to the gym or anywhere you’d need to get to. Upon arrival the concierge table was more interested in keeping their conversation versus doing their job. We were left standing there, without much assistance, I grabbed some flyers from their desk as they just looked up at me without even asking how they could be of assistance.

I appreciate the property is pet friendly.

We really loved Tenaya! I have 10 and 13-year-old children, and they enjoyed the activities the hotel offered so much, such as rock climbing, archery, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and nature walks! They also offered mountain bike riding, which we couldn't do because my 10-year-old doesn't know how to ride a bike yet. The best part is they provide marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers for s'mores every night! It was so much fun.

Every staff member was very friendly and helpful too! A special thanks to Brittney, who taught us archery and also led us on the nature walk. She was very knowledgeable and fun to be around. We want to go back there next year!

Just a beautiful place to relax and enjoy Yosemite. About a 50 minute winding route into the lower valley but well worth the trip. Stay away from the traffic and crowds to actually enjoy your surroundings!
