Rooms are clean & the staff are a lovely family. I had FUNominal cute of Cusco from my room & it was a short walk to shops & town.
Though there are no baths & they aren't happy with what Expedia advertised about them.

Affordable, friendly and perfect location

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Perfect location to walk to the square. Affordable. They have a small breakfast with toast, freshly made eggs, ham, cheese, bananas, juice, and coffee. Coca and muna tea was always available, which was really nice when we got in. Fresh towels. Very quaint, full of character and the breakfast area had a view and small patio.
I would recommend using WhatsApp for communication.

Be aware, there is no heat in the rooms.
They will do laundry. One load of laundry cost 50s.
Across the street from a school - causes traffic problems dropping kids off.

Nice people run it and they accommodate odd hours.

They had no records of my reservation. When I arrived at 8:30pm, the front desk said all rooms were booked and I would be unable to stay the night despite physically showing my Expedia reservation on my phone. Instead, they told me they were having ongoing problems with Expedia would be unable to room me for the night. When I asked how long they had this problem (because I booked weeks in advance), they stated this was an ongoing issue with Expedia and indicated that they have not attempted to resolved it. Additionally, they did not help me find alternative accommodations and I had to independently locate and walk 3 hotels on my own to find a last minute rooming situation. I would strongly not recommend booking with this hotel due to their prolonged technological issues and poor resolution strategies. I am now seeing previous reviews that this has happened in the past but I didn’t think this would happen to me. Good luck if you book with this hotel.

Terrible experience

Arrived for check in late at night after hiking for the prior four days, only to discover that my reservation was cancelled. I had not received any warning or notice of this change. It was extremely inconvenient to try to find taxis and a place to stay at 9pm last minute. I believe the hotel is not charging me for my stay; however, they should also owe me fees for taxis and the difference in hotel fee that I had to pay for that evening.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. We had a room with Mountain View and it was lovely to wake up to that view every morning. The bed was comfortable and there were lots of storage space for our stuff in the room. The room and bathroom were very clean. We liked how they would come make up the bed, change our towels, take out the garbage and tidy up our room every single day. The breakfast provided was not a lot but just enough. They always had hot water and coca leaves or tea available for their guests, As for the staff, they always greeted us with a smile and tended to any request we had.
We have had bad experiences with hostels before and was very hesitant to stay in a hostel again. We booked this place because it was a good price. We arrived there with low expectations but this place exceeded them. We recommend staying here, and we would definitely stay here whenever we go to Cusco again.

We love our stay at Hostal Qolqampata as we get all the necessary help for the arrangement of the tour from the host. The location has a great view of the city and walking distance to Mirador de Plaza Sán Cristobal.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating and treated us like their own family. The facility is quaint and in a great location. It would be nice to have more than one towel, a towel to step onto out of the shower, as well as some basic toiletries in the bathroom such as shampoo, conditioner and soap. Also the breakfast is super simple and only consists of bread and eggs—would be nice to have fruit and yogurt.

Affordable, friendly staff, great location.

Excellent location. At the top of the hill with a view of the city. A short walk to Plaza De Armas. Walk down the old stairs past shops and restaurants. Free breakfast is very nice overlooking the city on a inclosed terrace. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are small but comfortable. Beds have nice warm blankets. For my boyfriend and I who are both 6 feet tall, we needed more space. But other than that this is a very affordable, great place.

Nice location, good view, very helpful and friendly staff. Try to avoid rooms 301 and 304 if you are a light sleeper as they open into the reception area and have windows at street level. The staff were very accommodating, and moved us to another room when one was available.

Went in winter and it was freezing cold. We had to rent heaters that barely worked. The floors were ridiculously slippery that we all fell down at one point (we're not that clumsy). We went and stayed at Don Bosco next door for the same price and it was wayyyyyy better in every way.

no room available; need to move to the next hostel

we were there 3 times traveling outside between (machu, amazon). the second time, they have my name in only 2 reservation list they have. consequence no room for us. they move us to a hostel close to their place. The new place had friendly people but the value of the room was twice less than we pay for the fist place. No deal at all for us!!

Overpriced hotel. We got a room near reception so it was very noisy.
The room is tiny and don't believe the pictures.... Tiny bathroom, bad breakfast. Overall: bad bad bad....
After one night we added 10$ to get a much better hotel best conditions.

For the price it was fine, but not excellent

Pros: they let me store my bag when I went to Machu Picchu. Cons: scratchy blankets, tiny room, and breakfast was simple breads and coffee. I was surprised considering the excellent review! Fine for the price, but if you can afford a bit more I would stay elsewhere.

Pleasant but chilly accomodations in Cuzco.

I visited the hotel in Cuzco's \"winter\", and it's cold - really cold - in Cuzco. The hotel doesn't have central heat, but relies of using small oil filled space heaters. One will take the chill off the room - a little bit - but it's still very cool in the room, and the window, at least in my room, was drafty. The bathroom sink has only one tap - cold. That's the bad part.

The good part is that the shower has hot water, the bedding is warm, and the place is clean. Oh, and the location is hard to beat. The hotel is just a short uphill walk from the Plaza de Armas in Cuzco. It's only the uphill part that's the hard. The owners were helpful and helped arrange two tours for me.

Would I stay there again? Probably not. I think I'd want to stay in a place that's warmer, but if you are a trekker and have plenty of warm clothes, the price is right, and the accommodations are clean and the owners are friendly and helpful.

Very clean hostel!

It's a walking distance to the center, it's clean, and the staff is very helpful. It was a bit cold in my room and the front desk had someone bring up a heater without me having to ask. Very accommodating with the breakfast in the morning and the anytime tea. Love this hostel! I'd stay here again.

Nice stay in Cuzco, Peru.

I traveled to Cuzco with my niece and overall was pleased, only a few glitches. The positive is that our hostel paid for our taxi from the airport. Our room served it's purpose, a bed to sleep and a private bathroom, and coffee/tea, toast in the mornings. Nothing fancy but it is a hostel. Alvaro, the (owner I think) was always very helpful, he helped us to order food for delivery one night and also call a taxi as needed. In terms of amenities the room was not always \"cleaned\" it was just tidied up, but that was fine. Our sink had no hot water and on occasion the water would shut off but it would be turned on as soon as we would let Alvaro know. The location was very good, just about 7 minutes from the main plaza. It was a bit of a hike, but not bad at all. I enjoyed my stay here and was really able to experience Cuzco and I enjoyed it. I visited Cuzco to explore the city and everything else that I could in 10 days and would come to our room only to sleep and shower and then do it all over again the next day.
Overall, it was a nice experience. I recommend it.

Short walk to Sacsayhuaman & Plaza de Armas

Not luxury but neat and clean. Completely in line with the good price. Good location if you want to get up early and walk to Sacsayhuaman before the crowds get there. A 4-5 block walk to get down to Plaza de Armas. Also, the most exclusive school in Cusco is just across the street. Not many restaurants close by but Kusikuy Restaurant is just down the hill and down some steps. They specialize in whole guinea pig. I didn't try it (takes about 1 hour to prepare) but what I ate was good. I asked a couple who had tried the guinea pig and they said it was good.

I spent 5 nights at this hotel, room #402. Location is great, close to La Plaza de Armas. The view of the city (historic center) I've had from my room or terrace was truly spectacular.

Nice common room- uphill trek to the hotel

It was a bit of an uphill walk from Plaza des Armes to the hotel, Jose Almaru speaks good English and is hospitable. The other man and woman does not speak English, and they were there to greet us. The room and bath are very small- ie you cannot sit on the toilet with your legs forward. Hot water was good. The TV room and balcony are beautiful, for breakfast, which was also ample, and buffet. The bedroom next to the reception tends to be noisy, but convenient. Coca tea provided all hours.

Noisy, but clean with hot water

Booked two nights here, but had to leave after one because it was close to a number of churches that were firing off cannon shots every hour throughout the night to celebrate independence day (so we are told). Besides that, the rooms near the entry hear every doorbell ring (as the guests don't have a front door key), and every check in. We didn't get any sleep and left for another location and had to forfeit the cost of two rooms for a night. The hotel staff person was friendly (no English speakers at the desk though), the beds were okay, each room had a space heater, and the showers were hot. Didn't make it to breakfast because we were so tired.

We stayed in this Hostal from July 13 ... Staff , breakfast, few from the hostal was excellent. Only one thing I could change is location of our room. We were staying in the room downstairs just in front of the entrance and welcome desk..It was so noisy that we could not really relax after whole day of walking....Sometimes you can hear people coming to the hostal and talking aloud late at night.

Comfortable place at reasonable price

Our stay was comfortable and at reasonable price. Hotel is up the hill for a walk with shady neighbourhood on the walk, but rooms are equipped with private bathroom and hot water which is very important. Rooms are very small but cosy. There were few spiders in the room, but room was very clean overrall. For the price and comfort seems like really nice hotel for stay. Stayed there for 3 nights with excellent breakfast and loving staff.

We contacted them a day before the arrival in Cusco for airport pick up, which is very nice service. The hostel is very cute and cozy to stay. It has great view of the town. Very friendly staff. Since this is a hostel, you need to bring own soap, shampoo and conditioner. There were some towels in the room and you also can request hair dryer at the front desk.

At first they said they do not work witj expedia, when I told them I just booked them because i had an issue with another hotel booking, they were empathetic. Check in go on and attention was good. As it is close to Plaza de Armas, can be a bit noisy.

Faltava água o tempo todo, tivemos que ir para passeios sem tomar banho por quase 2 dias pq nunca tinha água! Peguei uma água na recepção para lavar pelo menos as partes íntimas e ainda cobraram a água rs
No primeiro dia teve algum mal entendido que fomos acordadas e “convidadas” a fazer o checkout relatando que tinha mais pessoas no quarto, porém não tinha! Era eu e mais uma amiga, o rapaz da recepção entrou no nosso quarto sem nem bater na porta nem nada, total falta de respeito!
Para chegar tem que subir uma ladeira que é mto mto cansativo!
Café da manhã muito ruim, sem opções, café aguado!
Não costumo fazer reclamação dos hoteis que fico, pq entendo que alguns imprevistos podem acontecer, mas esse foi demais! Não indico para ninguém!

Esse hotel foi escolhido a partir da aplicação do filtro: estacionamento grátis. No entanto, após indicarem o local para estacionar o carro não informaram que seria pago. Ao retirar o caro tive que arcar com os custos sem estar preparado para isso. Há informação de estacionamento grátis na apresentação do hotel não é verdadeira. Tentei argumentar com o hotel, mas o proprietário afirmou que não sabe como essa informação foi incluída. Ou seja, sai no prejuízo.

Las fotos no hacen para nada realidad a las habitaciones. Son muy estrechas. Reserve este hotel porque tenía tres insumos que busco por lo general, desayuno, WiFi y estacionamiento. El desayuno es bastante regular, el WiFi no funcionó casi nunca mientras allá estuve y el estacionamiento es afuera del hotel en la calle por lo cual lo considero nada recomendable.

Notre séjour s'est bien passé. L'hôtel est à 5 minutes à pieds de la plaza des armas et plus calme que ceux en ville. L'inconvénient dans l'annonce hotel.com j'avais le parking gratuit et cet hôtel ne fait pas cette prestation, donc attention. Il y a un parking privé pas très loin mais payant.

De bom para razoável.

O hotel é próximo à Praça das Armas, em Cusco. Porém para chegar lá precisa-se subir um morro que na altitude torna-se um desafio moderado. A recepção é 24h e o pessoal é muito atencioso. O café da manhã nao tem muita variedade, mas é bom.

O hotel é muito bom! Fomos bem recebidos e atendidos pelo staff. Ótimas condições e limpeza. Café da Manhã é ok e de acordo com o padrão local. No período de 4 dias, ficamos sem energia por algumas horas, mas nada que atrapalhasse muito. A única questão é estar preparado para acessar a praça das armas através de uma ladeira e subir novamente. O táxi custa 5 soles (julho/2018) até o hotel, para evitar a subida.

Ótima opção para conhecer Cusco

Ótima recepção pelo senhor Jose e sua esposa, bem como por toda equipe que trabalha no hostel. Todos muito gentis e amáveis, dando todo suporte necessário para conhecer a cidade da melhor forma possível.
Excelente localização já que possui uma vista privilegiada da cidade e está a cerca de 500 metros da Plaza de Armas.

Bom custo benefício.

O hostal é bem localizado, fachada bonita, interior brega (típico do Peru), possui quartos amplos e limpos, aquecedor portátil, banheiros pequenos, chuveiro excelente, wi-fi ruim, sala de estar e cozinha (incompleta), varanda com vista pra praça de armas e café da manhã modesto, mas suficiente. Os funcionários são bem atenciosos, em especial Cindy e Maria.
