I stayed here for 5 nights. The location is very convenient to the main square. Only a block away. Breakfast is served buffet-style with a variety of selections. The room is not big, but it is adequate. The room is equipped with a heater, which is a very important feature. I had altitude sickness, and the staff was very nice to provide me with oxygen and some kind of liquid to relieve my symptoms. I will stay here again.

Very pretty hotel that was clean and well maintained. Staff were super helpful, one even helped me learn more Spanish. 🙂 They made me special scrambled eggs without jambon for breakfast because I don’t eat meat.
Hotel Rojas has portable heaters for comfort. And hot water!. I had two rooms, one before the four day Inka trail and one after. The room on the second floor was spacious with a lovely opening window. The room on the first floor was more basic but coat less. Both rooms were very clean and well maintained.
The hotel is close to the Plaza de Armas, restaurants and services, San Blas, and Sacsayhuaman ruins.

I left a previous glowing review for this hotel 2 days ago. I loved it so much, that i cancelled my other hotel to stay here again. Wow, what a mistake. We arrived after an excursion at 8pm and the front entrance was chained shut - finally a guard arrived then checked us in, but had to keep letting other guests in so took longer than necessary (not his fault, bad staffing). Restaurant/room service was not operating- but it claimed it was online and i was counting on it. The room was 207 and it was a far, far cry from the previous room we had (312?). The bathroom was not even close to as nice as the other room, nor was the bed. Previously our room was so quiet. This one we didnt sleep at all.... the bars right outside were competing for loudest between karaoke and a discotheque. At kne point, someone was setting iff fire works right outside our bathroom window (directly over the shower). Breakfast was supposed to be ready at 6 am, and they did not even have coffee ready. So disappointed- really wish i hadnt switched my hotel to come back here

Customer service was great! There are really helpful and friendly. Few things to keep in mind are:
a) Location is very convenient, close to restaurants and downtown Cusco
b) They use a hard pillow, so for some persons who prefer soft pillow are a bit inconvenient. Maybe you can contact them before.
c) Many (most) of the hotels offer touristic packages. If you try to find the cheapest package, do your work before your trip, otherwise you won't have time once you arrive.
d) Many tours start very early in the morning, like 4am or 5am. We only enjoyed their free breakfast 1 day (it was very good, btw). When you book your tour, try to figure where are you going to take breakfast.
e) Ms.Soraida was responsible for the tour packages. She was very helpful. Our trips were very smooth and the instructions really clear. I recommended her.

Overall a good hotel for a night or two in Cusco

The Hotel location is great - right near the plaza de armas, walking distance from everything. The room we got has a window which did not open and was on the street with steel bars. Felt like a Dungeon cell. The ventilation in the room was scarce but they provided a fan. The walls are thin so you can hear everything happening around. Also, the street has many bars/pubs around which make it a bit noisy to sleep at night.

The Staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great.

Check out time is 10am but they did not rush us out as we had a late flight out in the evening.

Overall a good hotel for a night or two in Cusco.

the room was small but clean and the bed comfortable. The room I was given however, and true of most 1st floor rooms, was that it was right next to the breakfast room. Anyone having convo's at night there or as they started preparing at 5:30 am made for a noisy room. Nice hotel but avoid the 1st floor.

They even gave us a boxed breakfast to go at 4 AM when we had to go for the Macchu Pichu tour. One word of caution -- the music from the bar next door can get a bit loud at night, but this is easiy solved with earplugs. All in all, great place, and I would go again.

We have stayed in three hotels in Cusco and comparatively this was by far the best. Comfy clean rooms. We had a lovely wooden balcony with some good views. Only issue I had was with the kitchen staff who didn’t regularly refill the breakfast buffet items unless they were told to do sony customers. Other than that I would highly recommend this place

The walls are thin then I can totally hear everything from lobby and next room until late night. There is no running hot water and sometimes even water, maybe the hotel has small tank for water. I was said that breakfast is from 6am, but when I went to the restaurant at 6am, only coffee and bread were ready. I had to leave hotel at 6:30am but I could have additionally only fruit and juice. They were still cooking hot meal like scrambled egg, then I couldn’t have hot meal.

Excellent service although the concierge came on a bit strong in the beginning. Soraya ( I think that is how it is spelled) was simply trying to be very cordial helping us buy our train tickets, getting entrance passes to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley and she ended up be a great help! The staff woke up at 5:00a.m. the day we trained to Machu Picchu to prepared us breakfast before we left. Awesome! Although the room was a bit small, (we are a family of 5), the location, service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Hot water, internet service, hot coffee every morning, and a knowledgeable and helpful concierge, I would highly recommend this hotel!!

One block from Central Square

Hotel Rojas has a wonderfully welcoming staff that wanted me to have a pleasant stay. The room was small but clean and excellent for the price. Maid service was superb. The breakfast included many items but a cup of coffee and croissant is the way to start my morning. I was satisfied. The hotel environment and staff made me feel safe. I booked a tour with American Fox Tours (AFT) which is across the street from the hotel. The owner of the AFT arranged every thing for our journey to Machu Picchu (MP). If you are not from Cuzco, have someone like AFT arrange the travel from Cuzco to Machu Picchu. AFT had people greet us at the train station and take us to the hotel and/or transportation. It was concierge service at a budget price. I have traveled all over the world and I have fair Spanish language skills. Normally, I arrange all my travel and make my way. The journey to MP is much more pleasant with a guide. Must also mention a restaurant that I frequented in Cuzco. It is on the way to the Central Square. Carpe Diem: Italian cuisine prepared by Argentinian staff. The chef highly is a trained and pays attention to details. The food was excellent at a reasonable price. One can get laundry done across the street from hotel in 2 or 4 hours. The only thing that I found negative in my experience of Cuzco was the large number of young women who approach me offering a massage. Apparently, there is quite a brisk massage business around the central square.

simple and well located

for the price and location of the single it was good. had a great hot bath and slept like a dream. the bed was soft and warm, the lighting was great, the room a bit on the small side but no problem for just one. extreamly well located especially if you want taxi to door service and dont feel like lugging you baggage up lots of stairs or inclines. the only thing really was the breakfast is cold everyday, i would recommend heading out for breakfast in the morning if you want warm.

Our flight did not arrive as scheduled and our luggage was dropped off on our way to Machu Picchu. We arrived late in the evening and our luggage was in our room. It has the feel of a guesthouse with the dining area in the courtyard with a glass ceiling. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly. We were taken to the airport to depart on schedule.

I stayed for a few days and was really happy with the hotel. It is one block from the center of town, Plaza de Armas, and just a few blocks from San Pedro Market. The beds are comfy and the rooms are warm at night, which is definitely a factor to consider in Cusco as the temperature drops quite a bit at night. The full breakfast every morning was tasty and the lobby always has comfy couches, hot water and a selection of teas. The water in the showers was always hot and had good flow. Really a great place.

Cozy rooms at the heart of Cusco

Hotel Rojas is a small Inn that is located just a block from the Plaza de Armas, the main square, in Cusco. The locality is very safe, with many tourists and constant tourism police patrols. It is well connected to different restaurants and is known among most tour operators who offer a pick-up service from your hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and will help you with any request at odd times too. The rooms are small, but cozy and well provided. The entrance is by a key, not an electronic card. There is no room heating, but they provide a radiating heater. Some of the rooms have windows that open to the streetwalk, but these can be closed with curtains. It is very safe. I left my baggage in the room overnight and stayed at Machu Pichu and came back to find it intact. The hotel staff also personally care about each guest. Breakfast options are standard with cereal, juices, local fruits, breads and meats. Its a very cheap, comfortable option to stay in Cusco

Nice room provided a close location to most of Cusco's attractions. Within walking distance of a lot of great food, it was easy to immerse yourself in the culture of the region. Good breakfast buffet and helpful staff. Good but small bathroom, ok bed, good bedroom storage and a safe. Some street noises were noisier than expected but not bad overall.

This hotel is very thoughtful and friendly.

We arrived at cusco and was about to stay for 7 days there with 4 days hiking for salkantay trek.

Since we are not used to the temperature difference, we felt very cold at night. We then asked if there are any electric heater. The staff there was very nice and went all the way into the storage to put up a new electric heater just for our use!

Another issue is that we need to leave our luggage in the hotel while we were away for the trekking event. They are so nice and are willing to provide help for storing our luggage.

Lastly, they are not very fluent in English- but you will appreciate their effort in trying to tell you every bits that you want and need to know.

Friendly hotel and would recommend it to anyone going to cusco.

This was a great hotel and we actually stayed here two different times. Great location and yummy breakfast. My only complaint is that it can be a bit noisy and the walls are very thin. We heard people coming back late after partying, and those up early in the morning. Sorta felt more like a hostel because of that, but overall a good price for a good hotel.

Though the location was excelent, unfortunetly it seems as if the hotel has been trying to expand in order to receive more guests in a rate faster than they are capable. The tripple rooms, which seemed to be originally doubles expanded, had cheap infrastructure. Our bathroom had an opening which connected directly with tha main lobby, restaurant, chill area. So anything you did; was heard and smelt by the entire hotel.
Also they seemed to run out of gas on the first day on our stay and we were forced to take horrible cold showers with outside freezing weather.
The supply of toilet paper was one (already begun) roll per room, and was not restocked. Towels got smaller by the day.
Unfortunately, the price for value of this hotel was disappointing (110 usd per night for triple room). Staff though, was very kind and helpfull, so they had that going for them which was nice.

Super Comfy Bed

Great location... just about 3 blocks to the Plaza de Armas and 15min to the Airport. Bed was super comfy... bathroom a bit outdated but for one night was great value, Quaint Spanish hotel décor and continental breakfast was good...

Sweet spot!

The hotel is charming and exceptionally located.It's walking distance to the town square which is circled by churches, restaurants and shopping. The plaza is great for people-watching. We were there on a Sunday when a festival with colorful costumes and music materialized right before our eyes. If you need tours or a driver, call Nino @ American Fox Adventures. The hotel staff can hook you up.

Great place

We stayed 3 nights in HR and loved it. The beds are great.. very comfy and clean. We especially liked the breakfast bc they had more than just bread and coffee. Lot's of fresh fruit every morning with yogurt, avocado, local cheese, warm fresh hot milk and coffee. Very quaint as well, and was very quiet in our room, even though we were only a block away from a street where a bunch of very YOUNG locals like to party. I'd stay here again.

Good location but low comfort and poor service

The staff clearly has more important things to do than repond to your requests, such as reading magazine, talking with friends on the phone as if they think you don't understand spanish. The hotel description mentioned a \"complimentary airport shuttle\" but that's not true, I had to pay for my taxi. When they \"clean the room\" all they do is bring fresh towels and make the bed, no cleaning of the floor or sink or whatever. The doors aren't \"sealed\" so you hear everything that's going on in the inner courtyard, including the staff singing out loud while getting breakfast ready at 5am. Breakfast is just fruit and dry toast. The only good thing is the location, close to Plaza de armas. I would not stay there again and would not recommend.

All in all

Great place. No complaints at all. Close to town square. Close to market. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to. Nice rooms and bathrooms.

Hotel in the old city

The hotel is a block and a half from the Plaza de Armas and is roughly 300 years old. The old city is Spanish and the square is quite stunning. There must be 20 or more restaurants within a block (some very strange) and nearly as many tour agencies.
The staff tried, but few spoke any considerable English.
The gas cylinder ran out one night and there was no hot water for showers next morning - a serious matter at over 11000 feet. Otherwise I had no real complaints. I had to ask for a heater but it was brought promptly. Wifi was about as one would expect, but generally useable. I'd probably stay there again.
