- Its price point compared to other 5 star major hotels in Seoul versus competitors like Shilla, Intercontinental, etc.

- For runners, there is a nice running trail looping a lake near-by

- The elevator experience took so long that it was ridiculous. It took us at least 40 minutes to get to the ground floor during the peak hour.
- Their infrastructure simply could not handle a high traffic season. We stayed at floor 17. we waited for 10 minutes just for one elevator to arrive, only to find out its full, so we had to wait for the next one and all took a ride up to floor 32 and head back down while the elevator stopped at every single floor. What’s worse was you then have to switch to get another elevator from floor 6. I joked with my wife and said let’s just jump off the building from floor 6. I got a PTSD afterwards and avoided going back to the hotel as much as possible.
- For the avoidance of doubt, I have also stayed at other hotels during the peak holiday season, e.g. Shilla, Intercontinental. This issue really is specific to Sofitel.

We reserved a family prestige 1 bedroom suite and were pleasantly surprised that it came with a powder room as well as a full master bathroom perfect for a family of four. The sofa bed in the living room was large enough for our 12 year-old and eight-year-old children to share, and the staff set it up so nicely for them to sleep in. Cannot speak highly enough of the bed, comfort, cleanliness of the room, robes for amenities, slippers, and all the toiletries that were available for use in the bathroom my son enjoyed the tub and we enjoyed the shower.
The location was very convenient to the subway, convenient to breakfast places even when you were jetlagged early in the morning, and easily walkable to the latte mall for shopping and or eating. Loved looking at the beautiful lake across the street morning and night.
Would love to return back to the Sofitel in Seoul again very soon! Thank you for a wonderful and pleasant and luxurious stay!

Excellent when I say a five star hotel, I mean a five star hotel!!!! From the moment I arrived till the moment I left I was treated like a welcome and honored guest. The concierge service was phenomenal. They went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was as easy and as convenient as possible, they were ready with recommendations and were very attentive. I had never stayed at a Sofitel before I usually stay at Andaz‘s but I wanted to stay at a five-star hotel in Seoul that was so iconic. Literally next to the lotte world mall, it was extremely refreshing to be in such a luxurious hotel: my view, my room, the restaurants, the swimming pool, the spa the gym, the breakfast, the guest It was absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend this property enough.

Amazing hotel that is located steps away from Lotte World Mall (Avenue L, Lotte World and the Number 2 and 8 subway lines). Breakfast has a large variety of options, including both Korean and Western food. The Residence has a microwave, stove top and washer/dryer combo unit. Rooms are very large and our King bed unit had 1.5 baths. Staff is very friendly and helpful and a French team is visible throughout the hotel.
My two areas for improvement would be 1. the wait for breakfast (3 seating times seemed to be pretty full, but especially the later times). One morning, there were no seats, so they moved us up to the 32nd floor lounge (smaller, but still a great selection). 2. The elevators are always full (especially around checkout time). If you need to go from the 1st floor to the room, there are always 2 elevators you need to take. I understand security concerns, but it can lead to long waits. We had a room in the hotel for our kids and we stayed in the residence, so different elevators to go up to our room.

This is the nicest hotel you will ever stay in. Walls are entirely glass with beautiful views. Services 110%. This hotel is new. Workers open the doors and guide you everywhere. Don’t make the mistake of not staying here. It’s a little far from temples, nothing a uber can’t fix. The room service was the best food we ate in Korea, crazy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I stayed here with my two kids for a week and every single day when we come down to breakfast .. it’s the same problem. Room was booked for two adults and 1 kid. My son is 11 which falls under kid who stay for free. Everyday staff asked me to pay for the third party… and i have to explain and repeat myself . I think as a 5 star hotel it is needed to train staff to take note. It’s the same two staff at door everyday too. I just find it is very inconvenience for customer. Last day… we were rushed to leave after being seated for 20 minutes! Very disappointed with this service

I stayed at this hotel last year and came back this year because of the good memories from that time. However, because it was a holiday season (? I'm not sure)and there were a lot of guests, the service speed, waiting in front of the elevator to get on, and the drain problem in the shower room were the worst. I always use the Four Seasons Hotel and Sofitel Hotel when I come to Seoul, but now I think there is no reason to stay at Sofitel anymore.
