They forbid you from charging your devices when you are out of the room

We made a late-night booking at a highly inflated rate to arrive after midnight with a 20-month old baby. To our surprise, we were welcomed with the person at reception repeatedly shouting no no no no no, maximum 2 people and babies are no exception. I have never been to a hotel where babies under 2 are not an exception and I have travelled extensively. In the end after some arguing, we were blackmailed for another inflated extra charge, the person at reception even said pay that otherwise, otherwise what? Throw us out with the baby on the street at 1am? He kept saying it's hotel policy, then they should state all their strict policies on Expedia, it is too late to say that when the guests have already arrived.

The next morning, we were rushed out of the room with a phone call to 30 minutes before the check-out time. Again, I have stayed at countless hotels around the world including South Korea and this never happened to me before.

The included breakfast practically looked like a pre-packaged meal box you find at 7-Eleven, and they rang the door at 8am waking us up just for that. The room does not even have a table for eating.

I don't normally write reviews, but this is an exception.

Pros:
- A very short walk away from the Seomyeon station and tons of famous restaurants and bars. Overall it's a SUPER great location for the price.
- The female staff member who checked us in was absolutely lovely and regularly asked us if we needed towels and water and if we needed our room cleaned.
- Breakfast was brought to the room every morning at 8am, and although portions were child-sized, they were delicious.

Cons:
- AC seems old and kept randomly turning off minutes after we turned it on.
- The room wasn't super clean when we checked in, likely because the window had been kept open before we checked in so the floors and surfaces were covered in a thin film of dust and dirt.
- There is no lock or curtain on/in the bathroom for privacy and the sliding bathroom door kept sliding slightly open even when we tried to put things to hold it closed. No matter who you stay with (in my case, my mother), it made for very awkward pooping time. 😅

It is a great place to stay, in room air conditioner was great during this heatwave. The bathroom is huge! Lighting around the sink is not very good which makes shaving a bit tricky. You can get ice filled cups and sugar from the 7 11 down the street. There is a custard tart place called Rere down the street that is delicious with a cup of coffee. There is a \"burger shop\" that makes good cheeseburgers with thick patties that rivals Whataburger and Five Guys. There are a lot of steps to climb at the subway station and the bus doesnt allow big luggage during rush hours, plan accordingly.

Really well placed for transport, eateries and convenience stores. A Korean breakfast, brought to the door every morning, was a great ‘Korean’ start to the day. Lots of building going on in the area, so will be transformed when finished.

Top class service

A no-frills hotel with top class service. An excellent choice if all you want is a place to shower and sleep while exploring the city. Room is spacious. Location is great as it is near two supermarket/mall and a metro junction. Being an Asian, the room service Korean breakfast is perfectly acceptable. As i had to go to the airport at 5 am, the staff woke up specially to call a taxi for me and gave the driver instructions. You cannot find service better than that!

Excellent stay!
It's my second time at Residence Mumum, and it's still the same warm care from everyone at the hotel throughout our 2 weeks stay, especial thanks to Miss Jung, Mr Kim and Mr Park, it's literally a \"home away from home\"! :) It is so thoughtful of them to have a drying rack already prepared in the room upon our arrival for our long stay even before we asked. The in-room washing machine is definitely a big plus for travelers, nice! Miss Jung even took the initiative to send an extra chair to our room considering there are two of us, and a second chair will relieve us from having to share one chair during our long stay. Thank you so much!
Absolutely loved the powerful hot shower every day when we were back to the hotel after being out in the cold for a long day. And not forgetting the warm breakfast prepared for us every morning, yummy!
Residence Mumum is definitely my choice of stay again for future visits to Busan. Thank you, and see you all!

This place is clean and quiet. I didnt have a breakfast option so I dont know about the food. Very close to a subway station and a lot of restaurants are in walking distance. If you stay in Sumyun area I recommend to stay there.

Location of the hotel is great. Convenient when hungry at night.
First night there was no hot water for shower, changed the room after request.
The phone was not functioning at all.
Cant comunicate with Housekeeping department. They come and clean the room at 12:xx which is too early for me, however the front office department help me to solve the problem.

The room was spartan but roomy and clean. The lighting system was quirky. It went off when we wanted it on. It went on when we wanted it off. We wasted a lot of water waiting for it to get hot. The location was extremely convenient. At times during the very early morning hours, it was noisy due to workers or revelers.

Budget-y accommodation, clean and spacious room and bathroom. Deluxe rooms apparently have facilities for some cooking and washing machines.

Breakfast can be something to get used to if you're not used to Korean style breakfast.

Hotel is located along an inner lane which is pretty quiet area in Seomyeon, but there are food options & convenience stores nearby.

Seomyeon Station exit 12 is your choice if you have luggage as it has an elevator, while Exit 10 has an escalator that goes up from the station to the street level, exit 8 is probably the closest but it is only staircases at that exit.

Staff were friendly and helpful and they have some recommendations for eats nearby on a flip stand near the (single) elevator.

If you forget or your travel adapter doesn't work with the recessed power sockets, you could borrow one from the hotel for a (refundable) KRW1,000 deposit.

They were prefectly fine with depositing luggage before check in and after checkout. Early check in's can cost KRW10,000 per hour as do later check outs for a similar rate.

Checking out at noon (an hour past their 11am check out time) is ok on request. But charges apply for later.

The location is good. Right at Seomyeon district and easily accessible to airport, busan train station and other tourist sites. Walking distance from Bujeon market. The service is good and the reception staff is very polite.

What I did not like is that you have to rent the cutlery set for 10,000 won. I think they should not charge. They can ask for a deposit but it should not be rented for a fee.

Overall this was a very good value for the price, and in an excellent location in the city. Staff were extremely kind and helpful - and I mean extremely! I only had a few small issues. Firstly, while the hotel page on Expedia listed \"laundry facilities\" under \"Family Friendly Amenities\", it turned out that only the larger rooms had washing machines in them, and no laundry services of any kind are offered for guests in the smaller rooms. This forced us to change our clothing plans a bit. Secondly, the room had several of what I would call \"lighting issues\". The bed was located right next to a window with a thin shade on it, so that the room becomes very bright at sunrise even with the shade closed. This made it impossible for us to sleep much later than daybreak, which this time of year was in the very early hours of the morning. At night time, the room was very dimly lit, aside from a super-bright light in the entryway which can only be activated temporarily by a motion sensor. That meant that the room was seldom as well lit as we would have liked, and that it was also impossible to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without tripping the light sensor and waking up one's partner. Overall this hotel was still a very good value and I loved the location. I may even consider staying again, despite the few areas that I felt could have been improved.

The small hotel is located behind a small alley which took us quite a long time to find. We would like to thank the high-school student who gave us immeasurable help and brought us to the hotel from the Seomyeon station. The hotel service is nice. As Asian, we love the Korean style breakfast very much, especially the soup of the day (everyday served different type of soup). The hotel room has all the basic supply.

Just 1 word - Superb!! We stayed 4 nights here. Just walking distance to/fr exit 12 of Seomyeon Station. Not on the mainroad of Seomyeon so it's nice and quiet throughout the day. Plentiful of local food just downstairs. Don't forget to try the fried chicken on the other lane. Run by a Chinese lady with her aging mum. Breakfast on the hotel 2nd floor is sufficient with frequent refills. Don't expect 5* spread but it's good enough to nourish the body. Front desk recep is very friendly & would call u a cab if required.

Great location with two subway lines

Our family of three stayed in Residence Mumum for 4 nights. The room was clean and sensibly designed. The shower was separated with fixed shower screen which kept the floor dry outside. Pretty much the only complaint about the hotel was the lack of places to hang a coat (we visited in summer so not a real problem) or a towel (a real problem, although towels were changed daily). Also the beds (one double, one wide single) were pretty hard. Wifi and AC worked, fridge was cold, and the window was small. A building just opposite the entrance was taken apart but we did not notice any noise coming from the work site. Breakfast was Korean style with rice, different kinds of kimchi (different kinds available on different days), eggs and some fresh vegetables.
The location of the hotel is great next to Seomyeon subway station with its two subway lines (Exit 8 closest to the hotel, 10 with escalators). Bujeon train station is a short walk away in case you need to reach for example Gyeongju. There are lots of restaurants in the immediate area and quite a lot more to the east across (through the underpass, exit 12->15) the big road, below Bujeon Market. That said area (on the map immediately north of subway) with its older clientele and more shabbier restaurants is also an interesting contrast to the area south of the hotel across Seojeon-ro road with its more youthful vibe with high street shopping and stylish restaurants.

We booked a standard twin room. The room we got is the blue room shown in the photos. The facilities inside the room is actually quite old. For standard rooms, there is no washing machine and have to go out for laundry, around 10 mins walk. The room is big enough to have all our luggages opened and the bath room is also big, but there is no where you can hang your clothes and towel. And the most important problem is the lightening, the lights are ones as in a motel, it's dark, if you need brighter lights, the room only have a blue light which makes everything looks blue. It really makes girls hard to do her make up.

Unpleasant stay at Mumum Hotel room 802. We lost an expensive USED black neck pillow because we left it at the room when we checked out. Before we went back to the place, we emailed the hotel staff but they took very long to reply. We told the staff that we will go back to retrieve it. We went back 2 hours later to retrieve it. IT WAS MISSING and the staff cannot find it. The cleaner insisted that there was no neck pillow in the room where we were 100% sure it was in the room before it went missing in room 802. Though the staff let us check the CCTV but we were unable to determine as the cleaner came out with one big black plastic bag and there was no way we can accuse a person since we don’t have any concrete evidence. Utterly DISAPPOINTED with the staff or whoever took the neck pillow. DISHONEST. I am NOT going to recommend this place to stay since a USED neck pillow can go missing, what about other belongings? Customer at hotel room 802, please let me know if you have found or seen the black neck pillow. I don’t believe the customer will take the neck pillow.

Excellent location, but the rooms are ok.

We arrived at noon, and the man at the reception was kind enough to offer us the room right away, without waiting for the 2 or 3pm policy to check-in. This was highly appreciated.

The hotel is about 1-2 minute away from the Seomyeon, exit 12, in an excellent location for food, bars, and shopping. We loved the location which was very central, and the Seomyeon subday is on 2 lines (including the line that comes from the bus terminal as well as the line that goes to the airport).

The room is quite big as well as the bathroom. We could sense that the hotel used to be a love hotel, especially by the blue neon lighting in our room. Although the size was big, the walls had some stains on it and the furniture had better days. Also the mattress was quite hard. Like most of the hotels and restaurants in Korea, the lighting was kinda cold and blue. They could change the light bulbs, it would really upgrate the atmosphere in the rooms. Except for that, the room was ok.

The hotel location was right smack in the middle of a local wet market and shopping centre. It has a variety of BBQ outlet around for late night food choices. The nearby train station adds to the convenient of our travel.
You can walk to the nearby citizen park in the evening to view the water works with colourful led lightings. The park is about 2km away from the hotel. Along your walk to the park there's a shop selling duck bulgogi which is pretty awesome.

Great Location, budget hotel

It was a bit of trouble finding the hotel even when the Korean address was provided to taxi driver.
Eventually we found that the hotel is really close to a metro interchange. 5 min walk and lots of eateries nearby.
Hotel staff were really friendly, but the housekeeping was really not up to standard. First day they at least put the blanket over the bed. Second day onwards, housekeeping just meant putting new bottles of water. Aircon was really a mystery since it's all in Korean.

Small,close to Seomyun station in a smaller street

Overall stay was 3/5. Quality of the place is more like a 2 star hotel or an upgraded motel. Clean, good maid service, and breakfast service was also very good.
The quality of the room is so so. Not terribly comfortable bed and cheap/thin blankets but all seemed clean. The washroom was so weird where the toilet was inside an opaque glassed cage with the top not enclosed and the shower booth in a same setting with a sink in the middle connected to the room. Very very odd and uncomfortable.
The check in process was a bit annoying. I was asked to present my passport and when I asked why, they couldn't answer me.

We are vegetarian so we booked a deluxe double room with kitchen facilities as well as washing machine is in the room itself. It's like an apartment style of hotel room. About 5 mins walk to Seomyeon subway station, Exit 10 with elevator Up only, Exit 8 walk down/up to subway station. Exit 12 with lift facilities useful when departing to Airport.

A great place to stay

I enjoyed staying at Residence Mumum. The staff were helpful and friendly. The beds were super comfortable and the ammenities were top notch. The only downside was the complimentary breakfast which was unappealing and basic and did not cater to their overseas patrons. So it was great to be close to the main shopping district which had many places to eat, drink and explore.

Finding hotel is quite difficult as no english sign of hotel name show for us. Walked around 15 minutes and fry to find the hotel name.By chance we saw a sticker of hotel ^_^. We booked triple room , room was clean and big enough for 3 people. But the extra bed too close to the toilet.
Breakfast provided were in korean style (we got soup ,kimchi with some small side dish(all vegetables),egg,rice ,bread). Because its too cold so the hot dish needed for us. We ate egg rice soup then check out.
Recommend to stay if you r finding clean big room notnfar from metro just prepare hotel 's information in korean to ask the local people if you can not find correct location. Our pocket wifi run out of batteries that night so no help from google ^_ ^ .

Just few mins walk to Seomyeon station exit 8 with many eateries around. Hotel staffs are helpful. They let us check in earlier so that we could charge up after a night flight, wonderful! By the time we left, they help to arrange taxi right to the hotel front, thanks a lot!

The hotel is great for the price you paid. Free breakfast, near to the subway station and have a washing machine in the hotel room. The room is rather big, at least it is bigger than what I had expected. Staff are nice and friendly, even wished us a safe trip when we check out. The only thing I need to complain is the lack of closet. Since I request a deluxe double room with an extra bed for 3, I don't know if they had remove the closet in order to put an extra bed in it or they just don't provide a closet in the room. But overall, it is a really great hotel for a price range from USD50-65/night.

Overall, the stay was fine. Check in was quick and staff friendly. The breakfast was okay...I love Korean food, but try as I might I can't get used to the same food for breakfast. But there's coffee, eggs and toast...can't ask for more than that. The location of the hotel is great, a few minutes walk to a a central metro station and surrounded by plenty of shops, convenient stores and food. The room was fine as well. Clean, more than enough space for 1 or 2 people. The bed was on the hard side and pillows on the soft. The bathroom was clean and shower had good pressure. The lighting in the room needs to be brighter and could use a few more hooks to hang clothing.
I would stay here again.

This hotel was able to hold all of our luggage as we prepared to move away from SK after 8 months of living/working. Even with all of our bags, the room was still very spacious. Staff was polite and friendly, accommodating about giving extra pillows and assisting with morning breakfast. SUPER Clean, best smelling hotel I stayed at in SK.

Little GEM in the small valley

This hotel located near the Seomyeon station (exit 10 with travelator, exit 12 with lift). Location might be a little hard to find at first as it is located in the small valley surrounded by motels, KTV room and a few convenience stores. There is a DIY laundry nearby around 10 minutes walk just in case.
(Tips: Seomyeon underground shopping street with its endless shops is a place must visit for shopaholics. Also not to miss out the food street near the exit 1 at Seomyeon. Try the Toppokki and Korean fish cakes.)

Internet speed is quite fast. However, the wifi connectivity might lack of some stability. I experienced some auto disconnection and reconnect issue while I was just right next to the wifi point in the room. Other than that, the wifi connection is fairly good.

I stayed at Deluxe Double Room and it is quite spacious and clean. We are a group of 3 and the room is just adequate enough for our staying with relatively free spaces around. Room is equipped with hair dryer. Toilet and shower room are separated, so it might good idea for parallel on-going business to save up some time. Shower room is equipped with body shampoo, hair shampoo, and conditioner. Meanwhile, the toilet sink is equipped with essential toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shaver and comb.

Most of the staffs can speak few English and able to communicate. They are very helpful and will attend to your request at their best. Special thanks to the General Manager, Mr. Han as he is really helpful a

The room was clean and room service is available on request from the front desk. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful.
Home-cooked traditional Korean breakfast is available at the hotel cafe every morning. I liked that the dishes and soups served are alternated every day.
The location of the hotel is another perk - just a five minute walk from Seomyeon Station exit 12. Seomyeon Station is great for shopping as well as transit between multiple lines.
However, I would appreciate if the toilet and shower doors were opaque (instead of frosted glass). Using the bathroom would have been a more comfortable experience.
Overall, the stay at Residence Mumum Hotel was pleasant and satisfactory!

Hotel closed to Metro and Market

It is quite difficult to locate this hotel although near Seomyeon MTR station, where lies a underground shopping centre linking to Lotte Mall. There is a karaoke a few blocks away and the street has nasty smell, but safe. Nearby are small resturants, where seafood is provided. Opposite the MTR station is a big market for vegetables, fresh fish, fruit, etc.

Nice Hotel for a longer stay

Staff is kind and speaks sufficient English. The room is sufficient large. Generally the hotel is good and I would go there again.
There are no dark curtains. If you need to sleep longer, e.g until 9 a.m. bring an eye cover with you.

Considering that it is located in Seomyeon it is quiet in the night, the double windows help a lot.

The breakfast is Korea Style, but they provide eggs and salad sauce which helps to twist it enough to become Western Style.

Here are things that need a change:
There are not hooks for towels. If you are used to taking a shower in the evening then the wet towels eventually will become a problem for the 3 iron hooks (becoming rusty) which are actually intended for the coats.

it is difficult to find the hotel at night, as there is no bright hotel name in English. We have a standard Korean's style room. It was a great experience for us. Korean style breakfast is interesting but we do not ready enjoy it. Hotel staff was polite and provide good services.

There are not electrical outlets。 Hotel is in a neighbourhood of pubs and nightlife. it is centrally located. Shortterm luggage storage is at lobby quite unattended. long term storage is on 2/F at the staff office.

Pretty average hotel but you pay for what you get

The pricing is pretty low for this hotel so we cant really expect much out of it.
Its a pretty decent place to sleep in, and a washing machine is also available.

The hotel location was within a few blocks of shopping and restaurants. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, even though there was a language barrier. The hotel is not a tourist type hotel, but one designed for longer stay residents. Rooms included a washing machine. The free breakfast was Korean style, not western. I would recommend the hotel for anyone staying in the area, it is located a few blocks from the Metro.

room is small, but it's acceptable
I can tell that korea hotels are normally tiny. I think this is a family base motel, breakfast included, same dish everyday but it's pretty good. Room is clean, the only thing is there's basically no one can speak any languages other than korean there,,, makes things harder. ktx is about 8-10 mins walk, you got the climb a long ladder, nice area that you can shop around, and restaurants close before 9pm which is not very convenient. in conclusion this is okay hotel, maybe ill try some other hotel next time.

Nice hotel with reasonable price

i like this hotel very much...very close to exit 8, we dont have to waste time...
obviously the area is a good place to live in!!with underground mall so i can go shopping easily
and there are many stalls selling local snacks near exit 5...and the hotel locates at residential area which is quiet and safe.

the hotel staffs are very nice. they even give me a GOT7 EP as a gift.hahahha!
and we got big fridge in our room, so we bought family size BR ice cream and enjoy it very much!

the price is not high, and i think i get more then i pay. I do enjoy living in this hotel and i hope u do as well.

Comfortable and convenient stay in Busan

We visited Busan in early winter time. It's really cold outside, but the hotel is warm and cozy. Their conditioner softens my hair well. (yeah~) I don't even need to use my own treatment oil.
The hotel locates in a very convenient area of Busan. 10 minutes walk to Lotte Dept Store. Banks, underground shopping street, Not so easy to find for the first visit. But once you found it, it takes you only 2 minutes walk from the underground exit. Take exit 12 of Seomyeon subway station, go straight and turn right on the first street, then turn left and go straight again, then turn right again on the first street, and turn right again. You should see the hotel sign right in front of you.
The deluxe twin room that we stayed in has microwave, washing machine, and kettle. If you want to cook some instant Korean noodles like you saw in the TV dramas, it's perfect!
A traditional wet market is just across the road, where you could find deep fried chicken, soy sauce raw crab, all kinds of Korean snacks and they are cheap!
The area is also full of restaurant, open till mid-night (maybe even later). So we shop, then have dinner next to the hotel.
The bed is a bit hard which you may not like if u enjoy soft heavenly bed like Wextxx. But it's ok for us.

Overall rating is good!!
