Fantastic hotel and staff. Very clean. Breakfast was a bit meh, due to a lady sticking her grubby hands and fingers into the salad bowl also the area/suburb at night is like a ghetto. The junkies and beggers are really bad. Absolutely no reflection on the hotel though.

Overall stay was good, is a nice place to stay if you just plan on sleeping and the going out exploring around the city. Not much amenities in hotel. (Surrounding area mainly back alley or street kind of sketchy) Would of been nice to have fridge stock with water since was a staying and paying guest. Shower stall leaked qater out to bathroom floor and shower ha d held handle dod not stay up on the wall.

This is a downtown European hotel with all the issues that downtown European hotels typically have. Parking is non-existent and space is at a premium. In this hotel, the room was sizable enough, but the shower was too cramped to adequately shower.

The staff was perfect. They knew the restaurants to go to and they efficiently took care of all of our needs.

We arrived super early and the woman at the front desk was happy to check us in so we could rest. It was a great surprise since we assumed we’d have to find something to do for a few hours. Room was super clean and comfortable. Location looked sketchy but wasn’t too bad. We walked everywhere we wanted to go. Front desk tells where to go and where to stay away from. Exactly what we needed for our 2 night stay in Athens.

Convenient central location, clean and adequately equipped accommodation. One friendly staff member but the others not. Good breakfast. I asked for a room at the back to avoid road noise. This wasn’t available and I was kept awake throughout the night by very loud traffic noise. The pillows also were lumpy and uncomfortable.

Great hotel, slight caution on location

We enjoyed the couple of days we spent in Athens. Every one at the hotel was more than helpful. We wanted to see Deadpool 2 in English and they helped us find a movie theater to attend in English. It was above and beyond. This hotel although very nice and had all of the expected features it is in a rougher neighborhood. My husband and I felt fine and had zero issues but we are city folk who are used to homeless people and transient folk. If your not comfortable with that environment you may want to think twice if you plan to be walking alone at night. During the day is no issue but at night you notice it more.

Flattering photos and certainly not a 4*

No AC, tiny rooms and even tinier lift, dodgy area of Athens and average breakfast. Overall I think hotel would struggle to be a 3* let alone the 4* that it claims. The hotel is however close to the center of town and walkable to most of the attractions.

Unsafe area of Athens

Chic hotel does not deserve its 4 stars. First of all, it is located in the Omonia neighbourhood, which is not safe and it is not recommended to go out at night in that area. Rooms located on the boulevard are very noisy, even with windows closed. Terrible lady at the reception. No parking. Poor breakfast.

Double-charged me

Staff is wonderful however my main issue is that they double-charged me. They took out my room fee a full day before I arrived in Athens and then insisted they needed to re-run my card upon departure. Now I have two of the same charges taken out of my account. If I was going to be charged $180 I would have stayed at a better hotel. The room was not that clean; dirty floors and the glass desk had a crack in it. I really hope that one of the charges gets reversed. If they are going to pre-charge the card they should know how to then put that through without double-charging.

It was modern and updated, which made it more attractive, and the buffet-style breakfast was a nice bonus, as it was included in our price. I'd definitely recommend staying there!

Small but comfortable room with very comfortable queen size bed. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Despite advertising free bottled water in room, this not the case. However, free breakfast was provided, and this was excellent, although this was not advertised. Easy walking to major attractions, but also close to the seedy part of the city, with some lanes best avoided for personal safety. Staff excellent and friendly. Tariff during September was very reasonable.

It's an okay hotel in a bad neighborhood

Stayed with a group. The hotel staff was friendly but the showers in each room had a unique problem. The bathrooms are tiny. And you have to walk through a very seemingly unsafe neighborhood to get to the tourist areas. If you're a busy-body and won't be spending much time in the hotel then this is probably fine but I am a busy-body and I would probably look for an alternative accommodation.

Also, in my opinion, the breakfast is not worth the additional fee.

We stayed at this hotel just for 1 night. We are a family of 4 with children so had to book 2 rooms. We checked in late (around 11:30 pm) and checked out next day for an early morning flight. This hotel is not 4 star, maybe 2. The airport cab driver scared us when he said this hotel is located in the red light district. I had no idea while booking. I did see suspicious characters walking out of the hotel late night.

The hotel is conveniently located from Monastiraki (10 min walk), which is a popular place for shopping in Athens. The rooms were tiny, the shower and bed were barely 10 feet apart. Staff members were courteous. I would not recommend this place for family.

I was satisfied with what I was looking for, a basic hotel centrally located with daily breakfast and free internet. The breakfast variety was good and I had no problems with the Internet. My room was up on the 3rd floor away from the lobby, internet was fine. Room was clean however my only complaint is that the room smelled bad. Room had a modern sleek feel to it so that was a plus.

The hotel was clean and small. The young lady who was at the front desk in the mornings was very friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff were very brusk. The room was very small especially the bathroom. We were advised by the staff and taxi drivers not to go out at night. The area is flooded with refugees and drug addicts that live on the streets. The streets are very dirty and smell strongly of urine. The area is very rundown. There are many pickpockets and thieves in the public places and on the subway.

This hotel is NOT HI TECH. More like LOW TECH.

This experience was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect in relation to the distance from public transportation and taxis. However, there were no attractions to go to without getting on the subway. The time me and my partner were there, there was public discourse and a fire was set right outside of the hotel. The hotel beds were not comfortable at all and the table was too small and narrow to eat on. The rooms were very small. The hotel claimed to be a \"Hi Tech\" hotel but the WIFI did not work AT ALL in the rooms even though the hotel advertised that WIFI was available in the rooms. The only place where WIFI was available was on the Lobby. The only thing that was good about this hotel was the fluorescent lighting which seemed to be the hotels best quality.

This area seemed in transition to a better more upscale area, but not there yet. Facility was very nice and contemporary. Good breakfast, glass walled bathrooms, refrigerator in room. I found the Chic hotel to be everything I look for in a hotel clean friendly and efficient. The hotel is not in the tourist section as such the prices of food and basic needs are much lower. Chic Hotel very near Omonia Square, very convenient for central Athens, major tourist sites and metro for airport and Piraeus. Neighbourhood is a bit down at heel but no problems, went out on arrival night to nearby cafe, very friendly. Lots of refugees milling around, especially near Omonia Square but certainly not threatening in any way. Hotel and staff very adequate, stored luggage until our late day departure.

We walked in and the place was in the darkness he had turned all the lights off and was sitting in the dark. than we get to our room its tiny and old. its VERY loud and the balcony doors dont shut properly , either does the shower door. Free wifi is a lie we got there and he said we only have wifi in the breakfast room which there was no wifi in there. Breakfast was terrible all tasted worst than airplane food. Front desk was rude and very unhelpful . Hotels also located in the ghetto so bad that you dont want to go out at all in the dark . Awful hotel , awful trip , just never again .

The Wifi didn't work throughout our two day stay. We informed the front desk on the first day on our way out, and he said he will reset the router. Upon our return in the night, it still didn't work; and the next day we asked them if they did indeed reset it, which they claim they did, but for some reason the front desk (same guy) didn't proactively see the need to test this. He then said due to it being a Sunday, he now couldn't find someone to look into it. Very poor service and poor wifi.

Morning breakfast was so-so. Enough to get you up and running, but nothing to get excited over. Neighbourhood can be a little shady, but by and large would say it's safe. Lastly, the room size wasn't entirely the biggest, and barely sufficient for two people. Wouldn't recommend unless you're desperate for a place to lay your head for the night.

From heaven in the Peloponnese to awful Athens.

The area in Athens was the worst I have ever experienced. It would probably be kind to compare it to Afghanistan and downtown Islamabad. Never again will I stay in the centre of Athens.
This overnight stay could quite easily have ruined our holiday.

The room was mostly clean, the floor was dirty though. Shower head fixture was broken and kept falling off. Breakfast was basic and the bread/pastries were dry. The door lock for the room wasn't secure - had to slam the door to get it to shut and house keeping left the door open.

Clean and modern hotel, a bit out of the way.

This was a very clean, comfortable and modern hotel. Though not the most charming, all the rooms and facilities were of a very high standard. The location was fairly convenient. It was close to one of the main metro station, with easy access to the airport and port. It was about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the main sights around the Accropolis, and 10 to 15 minutes walk to the a few nice night life areas with bars and restaurants. Getting to those area at night however did require going through some empty streets near the hotel before getting to the busy ones closer to the Accropolis. While I'm sure the area was perfectly safe, guests planning to go out at night may want to bear in mind that the area immediately arround the hotel can be a bit desserted at night.

Not a friendly staff. The young lady was too loud.

It is shrouded from all sides so they don't allow you to see the streets and neighbourhood around. No lounge at all, which is very strange. Reception looks like an immigration counter. Breakfast features boiled eggs and I did not dare to break them out of worry for a foul smell as I had noticed that at Minerva Hotel in Thessaloniki. They need soft-spoken, reassuring and helpful staff. Lights are too dim and one worries about falling down. Won't stay there again. The tv remote control did not work.

Twice the charm! Stayed w wife and son

Stayed there for the second time and it was as pleasant as the first time.
I know its not on the best of the areas in Athens but nevertheless worth the stay and a 10 mins walk from Monasteraki, Acropolis and all the other worth seeing sights of the Athens.
Breakfast buffet was satisfying even for the \"non fan\" of Breakfast buffets.

Terribly noisy, bad neighborhood.

The room is nice, the service is good, they are very helpful at the reception BUT is was terribly noisy, we couldn't sleep because there is noise ALL NIGHT long! In addition to that, all the streets behind the hotel were not so secured even a policeman told us not to go there. I would not recommend this hotel, sorry!

Nice hotel within walking distance

I arrived two days early before a tour group staying in the southern part of Athens. I wanted to experience a different part of town and different sites not included with my tour group. This hotel is in an urban area with buildings 4 stories high, graffiti, homelessness, and a lot of police interspersed with a lot of business people, everyday residents, and other tourists. It is within walking distance, maybe 15 minutes to the National Archaeological Museum if you walk to the right outside of the hotel (follow directions on map for more detail) and around 20 minutes to Kerameikos Cemetery, a straight shot in the other direction. Many people in the area speak English. You will pass many shops in either direction, including the Hondos Shopping Center. You are also only about 5-10 minutes from the Metro line. There is a coffee shop a few minutes walk to the right which has sandwiches and gelato as well. The staff at the front desk of the hotel were extremely nice and helpful. They provided me with a very good Metro map. Having that map with a visual of the streets was very helpful when the street signs were not translated and did not match the map. Also, while careful about who I asked, everyone I met was very helpful with directions. I pulled out my map, told them where I was headed, and asked if I was going in the right direction. It was nice to speak with locals for that type of interaction. Ask for extra room key to keep A/C on while out. Chose not to venture out at night.

Hotel staff were very friendly and eager to talk with us, which was great. Also organized a wake-up call and a taxi for our departure the next day. I most often expect these requests to turn our poorly, but I was happy to see they did not this time around.

Chic Hotel was a good choice

Outside isn't nice but the hotel is nicely hidden. I stayed next door at first at a hotel that was just ok but was beautifully surprised when i switched into the Chic Hotel. The bed were super comfortable and they had nice slippers as an added bonus. The staff helped me get my luggage to my room and they had a weighing station in the lobby to check ny luggage for my flight. It's close to the metro and the free WiFi was great. Everything was amazing! !

Great value for money

Small compact hotel in convenient location. Hotel situated on a noisy street, sound proof windows but noise could still be a bit of a problem if you are noise sensitive. Everything else great. Comfortable bed, good facilities & exceptionally helpful staff.
