Excellent location, very good staff and superb buffet for breakfast and dinner. Three restaurants on site and plenty of restaurants less than a minute walking. Located right on the village, near the lift for the ski slopes. Only drawbacks are that you can’t use a/c and is a little noisy if you open the windows; also small room for the high price paid. High clorine odor in the floor where spa is located. Would stay again.

Uncomfortable Stay at Hotel Melia Sierra Nevada

Food overall was very good. This was the best element of the hotel.
The wait staff and cleaners were very good, friendly and helpful. Male supervisors in restaurant only moderately friendly, this is my second time there and they haven't changed.
Reception staff ok, not particularly friendly. When I was checking out they didn't even ask me if I enjoyed my stay!
Nobody at any stage asked could they help with anything which makes me think they have become too comfortable and need a serious staff refresh.
Obviously a great location to the slopes.
Worst part was I had booked a family room. This was my choice, however I did explain that it would be myself and 3 children aged 20, 19 and 17 and that they were tall people. I was told the room would be adequate. This was not correct. They converted a couch into bunkbeds which were not particularly comfortable, not for adults. The room is the same size as a room for 2. I asked did they have second room. I was informed on my first night March 1st they did not. It became very obvious that many rooms became available on the following nights ( Plastic stickers on doors) but we were never offered one even though I was willing to pay the difference.
So we had an uncomfortable stay at the Hotel Melia which unfortunately took away from what should have been an excellent holiday and as I was not even asked how our stay was when checking out I was unable to give them this feedback.

Positives - breakfast choice was amazing, spa great, rooms lovely size, staff friendly, parking on site and location for the slopes perfect.
Negatives - check-in process was about 30 mins and I’d checked in on-line. This may well have been due to extra precautions of our group and COVID ! Mask were an absolute must.

Stayed for a week over February half term the hotel is great, very central with great facilities. It does get quite noises especially with unsupervised kids and teenages wondering around and screaming ruining the evening entertainment and making it hard to get to sleep.

Great Hotel, Dated Rooms

We stayed at the hotel in February for a long weekend skiing. The location of the hotel is amazing, perfect for the chair and cable cars. Overall the service was excellent: super check in staff, great bar & restaurant staff and check out was seamless (including a curtesy room so we could shower post skiing). The reception, bar, games room were all excellent and the Wellness Spa was very very good (although the surcharge for swimming cap and flip flops was annoying). The reason for the low score is the rooms – they were more akin to a 2 star than a 4 star. The rooms are very dated and very tired (but they are kept really clean) and the quality of the pillows/sheets/mattresses was low. Would recommend this hotel for everything apart from the rooms.

Room and bathroom need to be renovate. Even the hairdryer was from the 80:s also the toilet wich leaked Can´t belive it´s a 4 star hotel. no bath-robes or shoes in the room. No service I asked for a bath- robe twice and they should bring it but nothing happened. Dinnerbuffe very low quality, breakfast excellent except the coffe wasen´t warm.
Only the location was Worth the very expensive price

Nice Hotel, odd hours for Breakfast and Dinner

Used the Melia Sierra Nevada as a based for our ski trip. Great central location, near gondolas and amenities. The spa was a welcome treat after a hard day's skiing. Food was fine. The only downside was the peculiar eating times, break and dinner are both 8:00 to 10:30 (am for breakfast, pm for dinner). This is far too late if you want to hit the slopes early, and if you have young children. We were all falling through our trousers with hunger, where there was inevitably a queue for dinner at 8pm. Hotel please bring it forward an hour, and we will definite return!

4 points to improve.
1. Cooked breakfast,notably eggs and neans should be served warm/hot
2. No prices for mini bar drinks.
3. Why are swimming hats and flip flops mandatory?
4. Double bed would have been preferred.

Bad experience. To pay more than £600 for just one night and after having arrived to the Hotel about 7 pm, in a place like Sierra Nevada ski resort which almost no snow in that time due to high temperatures and many cancellations was previously made by other customers, it seems indecent!

They have charged us what many people earn in Spain in a month. This was humiliating, showing great lack of considerations. In addition, it took me long time with the receptionists to confirm my booking. I am sorry but I can´t give good references to relatives or colleagues about this hotel.

Went to Sierra Nevada twice this year and paid extra to be close to the slopes at the media. Terrible decision as the hotel was run down the staff were rude. The dining was good but this hotel is a 2/3* at best

As per other reviews hotel location, breakfast and spa are great. What would be good is if they turned the temp down a few degrees as had to rearrange furniture to wedge open door and were woken in the middle of the night by the bar behind the hotel. The only other improvements i would recommend are mattress toppers on the beds, more Sunbeds in the spa and maybe a film channel in English on the TV (for tired nights after skiing). But despite this we did have a nice time and the staff in restaurant and bars very good

The main reason I don't rate this hotel very high is because it really is not good value for money. The rooms are ok, the breakfast is good but not 150+ euros worth. 40 euros per person for the evening buffet !!!!!! no way, I was expecting Dick Turpin to be the waiter. The other melia hotel just opposite is even worse value for money. Look elsewhere and save your money is my advice

we had a busy day and late arrival at the hotel and were very pleased to learn that dinner was open until 10.30pm, great buffet with a huge variety and also plenty of healthy and fresh options. hotel is just around the corner from the sky lifts and we enjoyed the proximity as only had 1/2 for skiing next morning. breakfast was equally good buffet and we had few bad experiences with half board or breakfast at larger tourist hotels in spain... overall the room was comfortable and quiet and the hotel lift up to what we expected from it.

This hotel has the best overall faculties in the village as I have tried all the others over the years! The spa is more 5 star than 4, & the lounge areas are very comfortable an well attended by very professional staff.
Only downfall is that there front desk staff do not have the local knowledge that you might expect when it comes to restaurants.
Overall.... Very good.

Great hotel for Sierra Nevada Skiing

Rooms spotless - two wide-ish single beds with an en suite bathroom (no extractor fan but this didn't seem to matter too much. Restaurant was buffet style - breakfast all you can eat with lots of different styles for E15 each. Dinner was also all you can eat buffet with lots of excellent food to choose from (E90 incl a 1/2 bot of wine for two - it would be cheaper if you pre-booked on check in). There is a bar and games room with pool and air hockey. The spa is very nice after a hard days skiing - the pool is more for paddling in than any serious swimming and fills up quickly when a few \"stand in the pool and call it swimming\" guests have arrived. Jaccuzzis, sauna and a steam room all very welcome. They insist you wear a latez cap and flip flops and sell you them for E7 if you don't have them. Very nice Kristian Kiel watches in reception at discounted prices (I have two now!). Staff very polite and attentive - all rather pleasant really. Very well located near the central square. We parked our car in the main car park on arrival but there is a car park under the hotel which would work better - don't drive into the main public car park on arrival but drive to the hotel and then the car park has its own entrance.

The ski lifts are a short walk from the hotel.

Staff is kind and speak excellent English. They helped my friend arrange a taxi and he wasn't even staying at Melia! I once asked for a power adapter and it was brought to my room within minutes (for free). My only complaint is that my room lost power during one of the nights.

Tips

The hotel room was too hot to sleep in. We turned the radiator off and opened the balcony door which meant the person sleeping next to the door was cold. It also meant we heard all of the loud noises from outside throughout the night. We agreed we would rather be too hot than too cold but it was quite challenging.

The hotel bar and meals were as expensive as you would expect from a Melia.

Don't expect to swim between 4 and 6 pm. Lots of families/kids.

Great hotel, brilliant service, pricey.

Although the common areas are slightly tired, the room was really clean and comfortable, especially the bed, can not fault it. The view was amazing, and the staff overly helpful and honestly trying their best. The bar on the second floor is very comfy and contemporary, although you may notice the add-ons from the tired 70's interior to make it what it is today. Great service and would return any day. Pricey, but it is due to its perfect location.

Melia Sierra Nevada - I wish I could stay longer

I stayed in Melia Hotel during Christmas Eve.
I must say the hotel was really nice. Clean, friendly customer service and quiet room.
The room had a wonderful view of the City.
Located actually in the center of all the restaurants.
There was this Italian restaurant just beside the hotel, also nice.

The one minus I should say was the small size of the swimming pool, the sauna and the steam room. And they were always crowdy, so I never entered them.

The food was absolutely great ( not only at the hotel but in Sierra Nevada overall).
You are also able to speak in English. The hotel staff will understand you.

The hotel has a kids room, an arcade room, a huge and I mean really huge lounge area just near the bar.

The cost of cocktails are about 10Euro,
(Blue Lagoon, Cosmopolitan, etc - all around 10E), but they serve them really nice and the staff is very impressive.

And Good internet connection (even on the 8th floor where my room was).

I would definitively recommend the hotel to anyone.

Só não dei 5 estrelas por conta da falta de comunicação com o hotel. Tivemos um problema pois a estrada estava fechada devido ao mal tempo. Tentamos subir 3 vezes e continuava fechada. Não consegui contato com o hotel nem por telefone e nem por msg.
O hoteis.com conseguiu contato, por a recepção informou que estava tudo normal, mas estava um caos a estrada. Tivemos q retornar para Granada e arcar com mais uma diária.
Queríamos ao menos uma posição sobre o que fazer e não tivemos.
Chegamos com um dia de atraso e o hotel não falou nada. Tivemos que chegar por um outro caminho por causa da quantidade de neve na estrada. Paramos em um estavionamento publico longe do hotel. Comunicamoos isso na recepção, pois clmo faríamos para carregar as malas na neve e por um longo caminho? A recepcionista simplesmente não nos ajudou e fez uma cara de ok!!!
A sorte é q um Sr do hotel viu o nosso desespero e nos ajudou qto a passar pela policia que estava travando a rua devido a neve, e nos orientou a parar no estacionamto do hotel.
Achei um absurdo um hotel dessa categoria cobrar 26 euros por dia para
estacionar!
Absurdo tb cobrar 8 euros por chinelos e touca p o uso da piscina.
Absurdo cobrar tb para usar sinuca e jogos.
Além disso, quando fiz a reserva comuniquei que estaria comemorando meu aniversário lá e eles nem responderam. Sempre comemoro meu aniversário viajando e todos os hoteis swmpre deixam um “mimo”. Achei uma indelicadeza nem responder…

Reservamos una habitación normal y estaba muy fea, no iba de acuerdo al hotel, la habitación estaba vieja y con poco mantenimiento. Tuvimos que hacer un upgrade a las habitaciones level y esa si estaba bien mantenida y moderna. Considero que es mucho lo que se paga por la habitación normal para el estado en la que estaba. El upgrade fue de 85 euros por noche lo cual se me hizo mucho

For more than 400 euros we expected at least nice views and not a wall right outside the window, mountain decoration and not old furnitures and a relax eviorenment and not something similar to a hotel in Eurodisney with thousands of nosiy kids around the hotel.

La chambre fournie ne correspondait pas aux spécifications mentionnées lors de la réservation, et la photo présentée était trompeuse. Lorsque nous avons signalé ce problème à la réception, ils nous ont conseillé de réserver directement auprès de l’hôtel à l’avenir pour garantir une meilleure chambre. De plus, il y avait un niveau de bruit élevé émanant de la buanderie de l’hôtel. Quant au lit d’appoint destiné à la troisième personne, il s’agissait d’un clic-clac trop petit et inconfortablement disposé.

Rent och fräscht rum, kändes nyrenoverat. Hela hotellet kändes fräscht men de bör göra något i matsalen på kvällen, alldeles för upplyst så den mysiga kvällskänslan man önskar vid middagen blev istället en skollunchkänsla. i efterhand hade jag inte bokat med kvällsmat utan ätit ute på fler olika restauranger.

Super lækkert hotel, med perfekt beliggenhed, god service og fantastisk morgenbuffet. Selvom vi havde barn med, var det en super idet at det rigtig fine spaområde lukkede for adgang til børn kl 19.00. Lidt ris var værelset hvor vi havde betalt (næsten fuld pris) for en opredning til en stor knægt i et alt for lille værelse, efter nogen dialog blev vi dog flyttet til et nyt med mere plads. Også lidt undren over at den eneste restaurant kun serverede buffet til 40€ så skal man altså være pænt sulten ;) Der er også parkering til hotellet, hvilket vi desværre ikke opdagede før vi havde parkeret i den ellers fine store offentlige parkeringsplads.

El alojamiento está muy bien, cuenta con un buffet excelente tanto en la cena como en el desayuno. Las habitaciones cuentan con todos los detalles y las camas y almohadas son muy comodas.

Lo único malo es que las puertas de las habitaciones no encajan bien y se oye ruido desde fuera de la habitación.

Nuestra experiencia en el hotel Meliá Sierra Nevada fue única. Mejor imposible. Recibimos un espléndido trato por parte de los empleados, en especial por parte de Carlos el recepcionista y las demás chicas. También por parte de Andrés y Mónica, que nos atendieron estupendamente en el buffet del desayuno, además de todos los demás trabajadores. Y sobretodo, el mejor trato que recibimos fue por parte de Laura, la masajista: una estupenda masajista que además nos recomendó los mejores sitios para comer y cenar en Sierra Nevada y nos atendió con total cercanía y amabilidad. En concreto recibimos el masaje muscular profundo porque lo necesitábamos después de esquiar (una maravilla, nos sentíamos totalmente descargados), pero si hubiéramos podido hubiéramos elegido otros masajes que ofrecían y que en ningún otro sitio he visto.
El desayuno en el buffet fue inmejorable, todo buenísimo. El spa fue una experiencia muy reconfortante con cada uno de los servicios y con unas vistas preciosas de la Sierra (nos relajamos con los distintos chorros de agua caliente mientras admirábamos el paisaje).
Las limpiadoras fueron muy amables en cada trato que recibimos.
En el bar cenamos muy bien y estuvimos disfrutando de un magnífico concierto. Además, la comida en el restaurante que está anexado al hotel era una de las mejores en toda Sierra Nevada.

Virkelig dejligt hotel, med pool, saunaer. Husk dog at medbringe badehætte og badesandaler - ellers koster det 7,5 euro pr person at købe dette.
Tæt på skilift og virkelig god morgenmad.

Ett toppen hotell med bästa läge, fantastisk frukost och ett fint SPA.
Om man reser utan barn så bör man välja de tider i SPAet då barn ej får vistas där.
Skidåkningen perfekt, breda backar, inga liftköer (vecka 09) och lite folk i backarna.

Hyvä sijainti, mutta ylihintainen huone

Hotelli on hyvällä paikalla kylässä, ravintolat lähellä ja kohtuullinen kävelymatka hisseille. Erinomainen aamiainen, todella monipuolinen eikä hälyisä, niinkuin useat isot aamiaissalit ovat. Muutenkin hotellin yleiset tilat ovat ihan viihtyisät, mutta huone oli pieni ja pimeä ja sisustus vaatisi päivitystä. Meitä oli kolme ja huone oli normaali, muutenkin pieni kahden hengen huone, jossa varavuode parisängyn ja seinän vieressä kiinni molemmissa. Netti oli todella huono eikä huoneissa ole lainkaan koneellista ilmanvaihtoa; pidimmekin ikkunaa auki koko ajan (helmikuussa). Sivuston kuvat antavat huoneista kyllä ihan liian hyvän kuvan.
Jos haluaa edullisemmin laskettelemaan, niin Granadasta pääsee bussilla näppärästi päiväksi rinteeseen ja siellä voi yöpyä kolmasosahinnalla paremmassa hotellissa. Myös ravintolat ovat Sierra Nevadalla huomattavasti Granadaa kalliimpia.

du går till den hissen, stannar den vid S, genom hela lokalen som bara var lekrum, över till nästa hiss som tar dig till ditt rum. Rummet mitt emot hissen, så ett d-j liv hela tiden. sedan går du ner i garaget igen hittar ditt skåp med ditt rums nr där du kan du förvara din skidor o pjäxor. för att inte tala om garaget små tvättrång platser. mycket vårt att parkera, efter att kört 6 runor och äntligen åkte någon iväg. Tuvimos un problema de disponibilidad en un hotel que reservamos.... hotels.com me lo arregló muy rápido e incluso alojandome en un hotel muchisimo mejor al que reservé inicialmente.
El hotel en sí es espectacular, en todo el centro de pradollano y el desayuno absolutamente de todo.
Spa gratuito y muy bien con unas vistas a la sierra impresionantes.
Todo el personal muy amable.
Gracias hotels.com por el fin de año tan especial que pasamos.

Bra hotell nära skidbackar, café o restauranger. Skulle önskat badet öppnade något tidigare för alla som inte åker skidor. Finns inte så mkt att göra som icke skidåkare
