Floor wasn't clean, had dog hair and popcorn kernels on the floor. I paid for a full ocean view room which is the most expensive and the TV in the room was not a smart tv so we weren't able to stream Netflix or prime video. The desk said some rooms didn't have smart tv, but I think the most expensive rooms should.

I expected much more from Hotel Tybee, especially for the price. We paid over $700 for a 2-night stay, and unfortunately, it didn't feel like a good value.

The biggest positive was the location. Being just steps from the beach was exactly what we wanted, and that was definitely the highlight of our stay.

However, the hotel itself could really use some renovations. The paint was peeling on the bathroom door, there were rust stains, and the toilet seat had gray stains that appeared permanent. The room just didn't feel as clean or well-maintained as I expected.

We were a party of four but were only provided two sets of towels, so we had to request additional towels after checking in. There was also no housekeeping during our stay. Since we spent most of our time at the beach, sand tracked into the room quickly, and having the room refreshed at least once would have made a big difference.

For the price, I also expected a few more amenities. There was no complimentary breakfast or other notable perks to justify the cost.

Overall, the beach access was excellent, but the hotel itself didn't match the price we paid. Unless the property is updated or offers more value, I would likely choose a different hotel on my next trip to Tybee.

I booked 2 rooms and 1 room was not cleaned. The floor was filled with animal hair and the bathroom had sand all over the floor. The balcony also had hair all over the ground and the window on the sliding glass door was filthy.

For the price, the hotel could offer more in the rooms. Complimentary water would have been nice. Did not see any staff members, except for check in. The Wi-Fi was horrible. I had to go outside to send emails and messages. My family uses apps for television watching and there was constant disruption with Wi-Fi service. Very disappointed with room. The area is nice, but will choose a different hotel next time.

It's a great hotel if the beach is your goal. Beach towels, beach chairs in the room. Other than that the room is outdated and too pricey for what it is. One side of the hotel is hotel parking and the other side it is public. In the middle of the night on the public side we had some teenagers in a car with blaring music. I am sure it was not a common incident but kept me awake nonetheless. Overall it was good.

First of all, the location is hard to beat—especially if you’re oceanside with a view. That part is excellent. The views and proximity to the beach are really the main selling points, and on that front, the hotel delivers.

Unfortunately, after that, the property starts to fall short. It’s not dirty, but it does feel dated, worn down, and a little rough around the edges. The hotel could really use a significant renovation. The finishes need to be updated, the common areas need more polish, and the overall experience does not quite match the price point.

For one, the hotel would benefit from having a real bar or lounge—something more inviting and elevated than the janky tiki bar by the pool. A proper coastal bar, lobby lounge, or ocean-view cocktail space would go a long way toward making the property feel more modern and worth the money.

The rooms are a good size, which is definitely a plus. But for what they’re charging, the rooms and amenities leave something to be desired. The bones are there: great location, good views, and spacious rooms. What’s missing is the kind of thoughtful updating that would make the hotel feel like a true beach destination rather than just an older property coasting on its location.

With the right investment, this place could be transformed from an aging beach hotel into a modern coastal gem. Updated bathrooms, better lighting, refreshed flooring, more comfortable furniture, improved finishes, and upgraded common areas would make a huge differ

We enjoyed our stay. The floors could have been swept and mopped a little better, but overall the room was nice. Being on the beach I do understand the sand though. The hotel is older but still the room was nice. Good view of the ocean. I would stay there again.

The front office staff was nice, the room was clean but sand all over the floor. The buildings are VERY old and really need some updates. Location is amazing to anything you want on the island. Was hard to find a spot on the beach because the back of the hotel is also a huge paid public parking lot. There were more cars in the public parking lot than at the hotel.

The property had two pools. They didn't open until 9 am. The room had flooring, which is so much better than carpet. Maid service tended to the room daily, however, it was inconsistant. One day only towels and garbage tended to while another day that plus beds were made. Beach was amazing. I would recommend saving money and gettin partial beach view. I had two rooms: one full view and one partial view. Since the land in front is hilly with sand and grasses, the views are really about the same.

Rooms not cleaned very well at all. Hotel is run down. And in one of the rooms we rented a hole in the wall to the outside that was covered slightly by a piece of thin flooring. Way over priced. The parking lot between the hotel and the ocean was a pay to park so it was very noisy all night with car horns, racing, and people yelling!

The room was basically comfortable but a bit over priced. Hand and bath soap dispensers were totally empty but a call to the front desk remedied that. I’d prepaid for my stay along with resort fees, but an additional fee was added at the desk that hadn’t been mentioned previously.

Convenient location for beach goers but very expensive compared to the quality of the rooms. Interior does not meet expectations compared to exterior. The allure of the exterior is the huge window for the grand view, but access is limited. Out-dated and in need of some restoration and modernizing. I would stay again because of the conveniency but only if the price was less or options were minimal.

We had two gigantic cockroaches in our room. We packed up and immediately left. The front desk offered an “engineer” to take a look at the room or change rooms. We left immediately. The building and rooms were very run down, and way overpriced for what the building was.

The staff was very friendly. Room wasn’t the cleanest but wasn’t horrible. The view was nice but the foliage needs trimmed back. Our room was never cleaned even though we had the do not disturb sign off the door. Asked for extra bath towels, never came. Went back to registration building, was given washcloths but never did get more towels. Bed was very comfortable.

The room was very clean and well stocked with beach towels to be used and plenty of toilet paper.Which is always a concern.The balcony was clean.The chairs were clean, only one slot issued.There was some grid on the floor when we took our shoes off, we could feel it, and we had not been out of the room.But no biggie, this is a great motel friendly staff and they even let us check in early.I would recommend it highly and we will stay there again.Thank you .. The staff was very unfriendly when we entered the property at 3 pm. They said come back at 4 pm. We had our emotional support animal and had to wait in the hot sun for an hour. No decent lobby and no outdoor shading.

The resort fee is $18 per person but with two pools it is not much of a resort. I think it is a hidden additional room fee. I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

Staff & Amenities were great. I was disappointed that when we arrived at 3:50pm, we were told the room wasn’t ready, that it should be ready by 4:00pm (10 mins later). We went to get something to eat and came back at 5:00pm and they still wasn’t sure if the room was ready, it didn’t show cleaned in the system. Someone had to go and look to make sure it was clean.
The rooms could have been cleaned better. The bathroom smelled like urine, and when I pulled the chair away from the lamp that was against the wall, it was trash & dusty in all the corners & along the baseboards. The rooms were really in need of deep cleaning. Look like housekeeping only perform surface cleaning. A real good cleaning needs to happen at least weekly. This would make the property better. While we were waiting, a couple came in and said the room they were given was so dirty they couldn’t stay and said they were leaving. That scared me for sure. Especially with the items they said was left in the room. I was just praying that we didn’t have the same experience.

Have you ever seen the room given to you being flooded with dirt water? Well, have you been given a different room only to be flooded the same way when you’ll wake up next morning. Also broken toilet at night when you need to bathe your kids and you have to wait till 10pm for parts. Honestly, this place has seen no maintenance for over a decade and belongs on Hotel Impossible.

The room was clean, but the cleaning staff left their broom and dust pan in the room. There was no bath soap, I called the front desk and they said they would have someone bring some up. That was on our first night, we never got bath soap.
The location was nice. The beach and restaurants were all within walking distance.

I realize this is an older hotel. The maintence on the building has not been kept up and it shows. When we arrived to register for our stay. I went to open the lobby door, the glass was filthy and I used a napkin on the handle to open the door. I accidently through the drapes back from the sliding glass door in our room and in the corner was a nasty mess of dirt, trash and cobwebs. I threw the drapes back in place. We left the next day.

Location is perfect. We had a very positive stay. This hotel is supposed to be only for the stay that offers immediate beach access, so it doesn't have any restaurants or food service on property. Our only complaint was that the body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom had all finished and we found out about it too late to inform the staff. They should check on such things before new guests check-in. Otherwise it's a good option to stay in Tybee.

The location is great, with direct access to the beach and some great restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself was clearly once very nice, but it needs some TLC and deep cleaning. The main room was fine, except the floor needed a good mopping. The bathroom though needed some things replaced and a deep cleaning. The soap/shampoo dispensers on the walls were rusty and the ones in the shower had rust runs leaking from them daily, the vents had visible crud in them, and floors/baseboards needed scrubbed. Overall, it’s what you’d see in a Motel 6, which I personally won’t stay at, not a $300/night hotel. Aged is fine - just clean it and replace things if they are rusty, etc.

There was no hand soap in our room or bath soap and a little tissue. The nice lady at the front desk brought some after four hours of waiting on housekeeping who never came.

We got no sleep. They had some kind of machine rugged to the air conditioner which made loud horrible noises throughout the night.

The place needs a good cleaning and update. Within 15 minutes of being there everyones feet were black from the dirty sticky floor. I went and got cleaning supplies and cleaned myself. The towel I used to clean was black when I was done. The neighbors down the hall from us had the same experience. The place is just dusty and dirty. We had the ocean view. The beds and towels appeared clean. The pee smell went away after I cleaned. I will not go back.

I was surprised by the state of our room considering we have stayed here before and it was great last time. This time however, there were strands of hair EVERYWHERE. On the floor, in the shower, on some of the towels. Considering we both have extremely low cut hair (buzzed), we knew it wasn’t from us. Other than that, it was okay. The view of the ocean was nice.

The room was mostly clean other than a used bar of soap left in our shower. We also had no shampoo and no body wash.

The room view would have been nice but there was lots of construction that went on till almost 1am and a festival that was starting the next day so they were setting up a a stage and tons of barricades. It definitely wasn’t ideal. I feel like we got scammed for the price we paid ($370)

we had an ocean view, the entire place smelt like weed and booze. there were parties all around the hotel both inside and outside as its also a party beach with public access. there was vomit in the elevator, outside on the balcony(s), vomit on the outside walkways from people vomiting off of the balconies, and vomit in the hotel hallways. i really wish i was joking, i brought my family with 4 kids here and it was a wreck. worst experience ever.

Great location. Room and bed were clean. Bar at pool was convenient and nice. View from room 224 partial view was good with a cool little balcony. Can't see the beach but ocean and pier is nice. Bad timing on our part, party weekend for seniors so drunk teens slamming doors and talking excessively loud intermittently in the hallway directly in front of our door until 3am was a little frustrating but I was young once, didn't try to spoil it for them. Will check events in the area before going back. Would stay again.

The hotel needs a makeover. For $250+ a night it should’ve been better. The cleaning staff need to step up their game. I pored water in the coffee pot n ran it thru and the water came out nasty. There was even a hair in it. The floors need mopping. The bathroom needs lighting and an overhaul. The mini fridge leaks inside. Water all inside. The bathroom door would not shut. The bed slept great and the TV was nice. The location is great. Right on the beach. Near the pier and stores. I would return simply bc of the location.

Room was very clean and I felt at home. We had everything needed and for it to be hotel coffee it was really good. Staff was at registration/check-in were ok they didn’t have the happiest or most friendliest demeanor but they were still very helpful. The walk to the beach wasn’t far at all, literally right at the beach of course so it takes no time to get there. Overall a great stay.

Hotel Tybee is in a great location. It's very nice having access to the beach and then also to Savannah a short drive away.

The room was well maintained. We always love having a microwave in the room (dining leftovers). Many of the hotels we've stayed in as of late have no microwave.

There was an issue with one of the elevators not working. However, when we mentioned it to the front desk staff they were very attentive and the maintenance technician took care of it.

We definitely plan on returning to this hotel. We love the location, plus ... BEACH!!
