We saw from the photos and knew it would be lovely stay but when we checked in, from the warm greeting at the reception, to the unit we had, the view it offered right to the dining experience, the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We would love to revisit and spend at least 2 nights here

This was one of our favorite places we stayed on our trip. The staff was incredible, they all provided great tips and were very kind. The breakfast was great and the bar upstairs has a beautiful view of the ocean. They also have great recommendations for Akevitt! The site even has laundry for cheap which is great after weeks of travel! We were also able to charge our electric car on site! We will absolutely stay here again.

This was a lovely place to stay and I highly recommend it! Beautiful little cottages on the water close to plenty of hikes and stores. The only problem we had was it wasn’t available in the cottages only in the main building.

Wonderful houses in quite an exceptional location. Everything was perfect, from the sea-facing, well equipped, modern house, to the exceptional breakfast and service. The restaurant also offers lunch and dinner, and with a sauna, and an aquarium, museum and gallery 3 minutes away on foot, you could easily stay onsite and enjoy the views and fantastically clean air.
We, like most others, had a car and toured Lofoten. Having a kitchen meant we could self-cater and could keep our own hours. Parking was free too.
I cannot praise this hotel/cabins enough. It was just lovely. Everything in our house/cabin was functional, beautiful and comfortable. It was beautifully decorated and styled and had a boutique feel. The service was exceptional.

Lovely property— we had a unit with direct water view, which we highly recommend. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Excellent breakfast with many options available, from frittata to Mollers cod liver oil shooters. The bread here was the best we had in 2 weeks in Norway. The main building housing the restaurant is a wonderful common space, so beautifully and quaintly laid out. Units have a second floor, where both bedrooms are. Stairs up are short but steep and narrow. Kitchenette available in United washer and dryer available for about $6 per load in a dedicated laundry area. Front desk staff we met were not particularly warm or welcoming and no water sports available onsite, despite spectacular location right on the water.

This place embodied what we expected from the Lofoten islands…amazing place to stay in a stunning area. The hotel had n incredible spa and sauna facility that allowed us to experience the full sauna to polar plunge experience and the restaurant was DELICIOUS. The aquarium is also literally steps away which delighted our children and us. We did not want to leave.

I loved this property. The location is tough to beat, on a secluded bay that you feel like you have to yourself. The rooms have an authentic-feeling rustic charm and are very comfortable. The public areas, including the terrific restaurant, scenic outdoor seating, sauna, and the 2d floor aquavit bar are all impressive. That is my only complaint-that they didn't tell us about the bar on checkin. We only discovered it our last night at the hotel after it had closed. Don't miss it. Staff was uniformly great.

Lovely place to stay!

With so many Rorbuer choices in Lofoten, it was hard to narrow down which ones to pick but I’m happy we went with this one for 2 nights. Compared to a few others we stayed at, this one stood out for cleanliness, spaciousness and the breakfast. For a place with fewer cabins, the breakfast was outstanding for all the guests! A lot of variety, healthy choices and delicious options. Overall, a comfortable and relaxing stay with great service.

Spectacular location. Beautiful little self contained rorbuer (traditional red fisherman’s cottage) with a view across the water. Easy to prepare a meal in the cottage. Equally easy to walk over and have an excellent meal at the hotel restaurant. Much quieter and calmer than Svolvær which we really liked.

Very interesting museum and art gallery a very short walk away.

I must call out the reception manager Madeline. She was friendly, cooperative, helpful and went over and above in efforts to make our short stay special. We were there less than 24 hours but felt like it was home. We would consider returning someday for a variety of reasons, but Madeline's friendly welcome and smile is certainly one of them.

Lack of...well...everything

Some of the failings had to due with weather, but also a lack of communication. Before booking, it would have been nice to know that the facility considers itself off season meaning the restaurant is going to be closed when you are there and staff reception is limited. When I look for a hotel, I look for access to food on property. As it were I went a day without eating due to the restaurant being closed. I also had a lack of heat in my cabin. Reception only stated different people like different things. I turned on the heater on the main level of the cabin and it took a day for it to heat up. While that was going on, the area was having gale force winds and pouring rain. The entire cabin was shaking, so much so that I was seasick on the upper level of the cabin and retreated to the lower level. I had no idea if I was safe or not, but the reception phone only rang. Later I spoke with a local who stated,\" Oh yeah, those cabins can take a beating in weather like this.\" She also went on to say that there had been a report of a tourist who also felt concerned and ended up leaving a fisherman's cabin ( did not say where) and that cabin ended up blowing into the sea.So my fears were founded. Worst of all, twice the staff walked in on me when indisposed, once when I was naked. I shouted I was still in the cabin as it was not checkout. Next time an hour later again! I was on the toilet and they came into the bathroom anyway and literally stood there watching me with my pants down.

Postcard-perfect landscape stay

Beautiful property between Svolvær and Henningsvær. Two-story cabins by the sea provide a sense of tranquility and makes the whole stay truly unique. Breakfast was amazing. Served by the sea offers great view to start your day. Staff was very friendly. Cabins are quite spacious and were more than enough for a family of four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom, kitchen and lounge area. We recommend paying a little extra for the seaside units. This was definitely a highlight of our trip in Norway. Get a car though, do not plan on using public transportation. If you're visiting the Lofoten Islands, even though there's other nice properties throughout the area, we recommend this one 100%

The location and water and mountain views were spectacular. The cabin was cozy and unique, offering a comfortable sitting room and kitchen and perfect ambiance. The restaurant where we had dinner and the included breakfast was excellent. Friendly staff, welcoming and available. We had a wonderful stay and were only sorry that we could not have stayed a week.

The only drawback to our cabin was the narrow stairway to the bedrooms; they were not a problem for us, but booking sites should make clear that some cabins are not suited for those with mobility issues.

Did not like the narrow steep steps to the bedrooms and we only had twin beds. If you have mobility issues please see if they have bedrooms on lower level . Furnishings were adequate but more dorm room like... It is good for one night stay. Breakfast was great and included in our stay. Staff were excellent!

This was a really good stay. These cabins are very nice, very cozy, very private. I really enjoyed the layout of the cabin, it was a great place to call home base while traveling in the area and was great to be able to make my own food and set up a work area with my computer and other equipment. The only drawback would be the location, is fairly far north from some of the spots that are further south along the Lofotens. I underestimated some of the driving time from here to some of the areas like Reine. The breakfast offered here is really good, was a great start to the day. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the views from the water were really great. Parking was also super easy and convenient.

The hotel is fantastic. The rorbu are well laid out and cozy. Much better than others we have stayed at. Only negative was bad water pressure in the shower. Beautiful location, great breakfast, wonderful staff, and unbeatable sauna (after a cold plunge in the ocean). Would definitely stay again.

Nice place close to Svolvaer

We stayed at Nyvagar for four nights and were very happy with our stay. The hotel is nicely located next to the sea, but only 10 minutes drive to Svolvaer. The roburs are comfortable with equipped kitchens and lots of space. Breakfast is OK and has everything you would expect. The staff is very friendly.

Cozy great cabin, away from it all!

The cabin was very neat and clean and a great place to stay. It would difficult to get to or around without a car. I loved our view, we saw the Northern Lights from our back door! The cabin was very cozy and wonderful. It would be nice if there were staff to check guests in later than 330PM.

Middle of the Lofotens

The Lofoten Islands aren't to be missed and this is a great place to stay right in the middle. Quiet, off the beaten path, but close enough to everything as long as you have a car. If you are looking for a five star hotel, this is not your place. If you ar looking to stay like a Norwegian family in a Rorbu, this is exactly the place to go. We would come back without a question. One last comment, the breakfast Buffet was awesome! For us this is a place we would highly recommend.

Wir hatten einen großartigen Aufenthalt!

Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Sauna mit Meerblick – absolut entspannend und ein echtes Highlight. Auch die Aussicht aus dem eigenen Zimmer war fantastisch. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, mit einer großen Auswahl an frischen und regionalen Produkten.

Praktisch für E-Auto-Fahrer: Es gibt zwei AC-Ladestationen direkt vor Ort.

Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung – ich komme gerne wieder!

Beautiful hotel with nice staff

We booked two bedroom oceanfront cabin which got a very nice view. The cabin is clean but kitchenette facility is a bit short (e.g. cover is missing for pot).
We don’t expect rooms are actually in the loft. So it may not be a good choice for those carrying large luggage as it is difficult to carry to luggage to go up to the rooms.
Staff are very nice and helpful.
Hotel restaurant is cozy with good breakfast.
Overall speaking, we are satisfied with the stay.

Bua var iskald da vi ankom. Termostaten på badet var satt til 8,5 grader. Temperatur i oppholdsrom var ca 18. Etter ca 1 time valgte vi å forlate bua for å oppsøke et varmt lokale.
Jeg forventer at et overnattingssted som tar såpass høye priser har rommet oppvarmet når de vet det kommer gjester.

Otettiin toinen yö ja jouduttiin ymmärrettävästi uloskirjautuun ja sisäänkirjautuun sekä vaihtamaan mökkiä välissä. Olimme suunnitelleet päiväohjelman niin,että pääsemme tekemään heti ruokaa klo 15.00 uuteen mökkiin. Jouduimme kuitenkin odottelemaan 1.5h ennen kun saimme avaimet. Hyvitystä eikä pahoitteluja saatu. Nälkäisenä pitkä aika odotella.

Leider entsprach diese Unterkunft überhaupt nicht unseren Vorstellungen. Sie war sehr teuer, dafür sehr einfach und bot wenig Privatsphäre, denn auch in der ersten Reihe wohnen bedeutet nicht, dass nicht dauernd jemand vor dem Fenster auf und ab läuft. Es gab keinen Fernseher und am Ankunftstag war das Internet ausgefallen, was uns jedoch angerechnet wurde. Das Frühstück ist ausgefallen und sehr liebevoll, auch wenn mir einige Basics wie Haferflocken und Körner für mein Müsli gefehlt haben.

Badet kunne hatt et avlastningsbord, slik at en kunne hatt toalettsaker på dette. For to par blei detonere kronglete. Trappa var bratt og egner seg dårlig for gamle folk….og som må opp en tur om natta.

Et nydelig sted. Nok blant de dyreste rorbuer i Lofoten ,men for vår del var det verdt det. Gode senger,rene og pene rorbuer. De reklamerer med Spa avdeling. Som bortskjemt østlending hadde vi nok litt andre forventninger til hva det innebærer, men vi hadde boblebad og spa-avdeling for oss selv,og det er få steder noen plass i verden som kan måle seg med utsikten! Grei,om noe enkel frokost. Hadde ventet mer fisk som pålegg siden vi tross alt er i Lofoten. Nydelig mat i resturanten den ene kvelden vi spiste der. Alt i alt et nydelig sted.

Fint, men mye rot

Koselig og idyllisk sted. Dessverre så var rorbuen svært dårlig rengjort siden forrige gjest. Urin på toalettsetet, ikke kastet søppel og det var ikke toalettpapir.

Samtidig så hadde vi sen utsjekk, noe renholderne ikke hadde fått beskjed om så de kom innom to ganger for å vaske mens vi var i rorbuen. Den ene gangen stod jeg i dusjen, så det var ikke greit.

Stedet hadde riktignok en fantastisk bra frokost.

Très joli site

L'hôtel au calme est dans un très joli site au bord de l'eau. Les abords sont coquets et soignés avec une décoration dans le thème de la pêche. Les appartements mitoyens (rorbuer) sont confortables et le buffet du petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Salle de restaurant typique et bien décorée.

Veldig gode senger og renholdet var bra. Servicen til personalet kunne vært bedre og den deling av badestampen med fremmede syntes vi ikke noe om. Så vi leide ikke badestamp.

Sai mitä tilasi

Lokakuussa ravintola oli suljettu. Aamiainen tarjoiltiin aamiaiskoreissa huoneisiin, se oli monipuolinen ja runsas. Sijainti hieman syrjässä, mitä me haimmekin. Paikasta pääsi hyvin Lofoottien tunnelmaan ja näkymä huoneesta oli ihana!

Flott opphold i koselig rorbu. God plass, rent, fine utendørsfasiliteter. Hotellets restaurant serverte nydelig mat. Kort vei til andre fine serverdigheter.

Nyvågar bare leverer. Vi var der i fjord og hadde et glimrende opphold, samme i år.

Beliggenhet, service og selve rommene, er tipp/topp. Vi hadde en utmerket 5-retters middag med alt tilbehør til en helt fair pris. Sauna med tilhørende \"is-bad\" i sjøen og besøk i relax-avdeling er et must.
