It was extremely noisy. The bar next to the hotel (in the same building) had VERY LOUD music EVERY NIGHT during our stay. I complained to the front desk staff and did not get any help. The music did not stop until after the mid night (2am to be exact). The shower are in the hotel room is practically unuseable, although we had a Business Class Room.

Cons: Our room overlooked the courtyard outside, it was extremely loud at night time when people would gather after bar/restaurant closed for the evening. Parking was $20 for an indoor spot at the hotel.

What a view and wow breakfast

Wonderful hotel right on the harbor with an incredible mountain view. And that breakfast is fantastic--huge breakfast buffet with something for everyone! Would highly recommend. And it's centrally located and walkable to restaurants and attractions--many tours pick up right in front. Loved it!

We booked a Twin Room and they upgraded us to a suite with 2 bedrooms, a living room and small kitchen in the new wing. Everything is nice about the rooms, we chilled by the living room every night with TV casting possible from your own devices. Breakfast spread is very good as well. It's supposed to be the best place for weekend brunch according to the taxi drivers. Location wise is convenient, the pier area just next door and walkable to a supermarket nearby. Will definitely stay here again if revisiting.

The hotel was in a great location for walking along the pier and the staff was very friendly. We ran into two issues. First our room was 339 and it was in a separate building which requires some navigating and also 2 sets of stairs AFTER using the elevator, which was kind of awkward. Then the odor from the garage permeated into the elevator and into our vehicle. There must be some other place to keep the garbage or at least a way to keep the smell down. Other than that we had a great stay and the breakfast buffet was wonderful!!!

What I don’t like - the terrible parking arrangements, although the hotel has its own underground parking it has limited spaces apparently, and if their spaces run out there are very limited options in its vicinity.
The furniture in the rooms are showing signs of wear and tear.

What a fantastic hotel, beyond my expectations. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful from the front desk to restaurant staff. The breakfast is fantastic even with piano being played! Dinner was really nice again with piano. The room was spotless, super clean, with kettle, coffee maker, fridge even a pair of binoculars to look out in the harbour. The view from my room was amazing. Location is perfect for meeting excursions and close to every thing

Stayed at a number of Thon hotels in our 5 week trip around Finland and Norway. They have all been excellent but this one is the pick of the crop. Right beside the Hurtigruten terminal , close to everything in town , variety at breakfast out of this world and lots of little extras eg umbrellas to walk around in the rain, cakes and pastries available in foyer. Absolutely excellent hotel.

Stayed here with my wife for 3 nights and the hotel was very good for our needs, great view over Svolvaer from the bedroom, super convenient for Trollfjord boat trip and fast ferry service to Bodo. The breakfast was the best i've ever had anywhere and the lady playing piano was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend The Thon Hotel Lofoten for a stay in Svolvaer! Genial!

This hotel is lovely! The only issue we had was our booking thru Hotels.com did NOT match what we got when checked in. The “family” room is a small bed and a pullout couch. NOT what the photos showed. In spite of that, the hotel is funky, clean, in a great location and wonderful.

Ideal situation, excellent all round

Situated right on the main square, a spit away from the Hurtigruten ferry terminal, the bus twrminal and the mooring of the tour boats, it couldn't be better placed. Reception friendly and helpful and found me a room even though I was early for check in. Thw room was broght and airy, spacious and clean. In the modern way there were enough pillows for an army! Breakfast was a huge display of tasty items. Free fresh coffee was availble 24/7

Wonderful view, comfy bed, the best breakfast.

Beautiful rooms with an amazing view. Best breakfast buffet I had in the 14 different hotels I stayed in during my trip to Norway. Room was clean, staff were friendly and it was a good location. Parking is tight in the garage and is about $20usd/night. Bed was comfortable.

I would highly recommend this hotel, if only for the beautiful view.

Location was excellent. Pay extra for a room with a view and large windows. Its so worth it! Staff were the best! Oh and the breakfast was the best free breakfast with a room you'll ever encounter. Piano music is so soothing! Excellence! Beds were very comfortable!

Loved Thon Hotel Lofoten

Great views

The hotel is clean and modern. The superior room we stayed in was large and had floor to ceiling windows with a great view. They have a excellent breakfast. We had to leave early out last day and they provided a breakfast to go. Would definitely recommend

Excellent Breakfast, Room and Services

We really enjoyed our stay with this hotel. From breakfast and room to services and location, everything is so perfect. Our room had beautiful harbour views. Size was ok and bed was comfortable. What impressed us most was the wide selections of breakfast buffet. They are both sumptuous and delicious. When we booked the hotel months back, there were not much photos on the breakfast, especially warm food which hindered our hotel selection as warm breakfast is important to us. This hotel really has a wide spread of bread, cereals, warm food, cold food, juices, fruits, smoothies, coffee and tea. The food really was very delicious. The hotel even offered service of informing customers when Northern Lights appeared, though we did not have the lucks of seeing it. One breakfasts staff also shared with us what are the nice places to visit in Lofoten. Noted the hotel had already put up some breakfast photos, I shall add on.

Good Resturant, close to port.

We loved the hotel, easy to the seaport with beautiful scenery.
We enjoyed the Resturant for two nights dinner and breakfasts buffets, good food there.
