The hotel is in a very neat area with lots of dining options a short walk away. Parking is extremely limited. Rooms in the front part of the hotel are extremely dated and small. We were able to book a room in the garden area which has been remodeled recently and looks much nicer and has air conditioning. Definitely would go back if I could guarantee one of the nicer rooms.

Hotel Eisenhower is tired and needs some updating. The shower room we stayed in didn't have a working fan so shower room was a little mouldy also the plug in the sink was broken so stayed in. Both lights by the bed did not work, probably just need the bulbs replacing but this should be checked before the room is let out. However the hotel is in a great central location and there is parking which is free. We didn't see much staff but when we did they were very friendly and helpful. Its just a tired hotel really but is ok for a night.

Basic Hotel in the heart of Port-en-Bessin

This is a very basic place to stay but it was fine for two nights, and clean. It’s close to the beautiful little downtown and the walk along the harbor and in the middle of all the Normandie sites. There is no elevator which could be an issue for some visitors and also there are only two or three parking spots at the actual hotel, if those are taken you have to find one somewhere else in town - which are free but it could be a walk away.

This hotel was very difficult to find because they have NO SIGN!
Very basic accommodation.
This facility has two buildings which meant climbing two flights of steps and then two more flights. Not ideal for luggage.

I was drawn to this hotel because of its connection to General Eisenhower, but what I found was a hotel in great need of an overhaul. The location is fine, the neighborhood is fine, and there are some nearby restaurants and attractions that are fine. But, the hotel has seen better days.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. As it is a 2 star we expected very little but received far more. It was exceptionally clean, the room was very clean and spacious, staff were very friendly and the location was perfect.

I stayed at the Eisenhower Hotel for one night during my visit to the Normandy region. It’s a great hotel if you are just wanting a nice place to sleep at night. It’s within walking distance to all the shops and cafes you could ask for. My room was on the second floor and it opened up onto the (shared) balcony. The room was spacious with a large bed. The room was exactly what I was looking for, a spacious room close to all the action that wouldn’t break the bank!

I would definitely stay at this hotel again

A run down hotel with no facilities or lifts. The room was shoddy with ceiling damage and a broken shower attachment. The staff decided to refurb the room upstairs at 1am,I thought the room was being raided as the noise was terrible, they even threw two beds from the window onto the grass from about 29ft.

This place isn’t the ritz. It’s basic but it’s a very good basic. If what you want is a roof and a bed and a door that locks then this place is excellent. Clean and tidy and a no nonsense room for the night. If you want all the whistles and bells then keep looking.
Port-en-Bennin is a beautiful spot too.

For the price I was really happy. The staff were friendly upon check in and helpful providing somewhere to leave all 3 bikes.

The room itself was basic and clean and good value for money with towels and basic toiletries provided ...

It was in a good location and seconds from some good restaurants in a small town.

We were originally given a small room for three people that was too cramped. We asked for a larger room and we were offered a six person room but in the back part of the hotel that was not remodeled, but it was fine with us, since we didn't want to be packed into a tiny room with three people.
The TV never worked but the beds were fine. Nothing fancy, as it is just a 2 star. Breakfast was better than expected with traditional European rolls, ham, cheese, yogurt, and croissants. Location was pretty good, as it was just a short drive to Omaha beach and a lot of the museums.

Was just about OK but beware - parking for 4 cars only first come basis - overflow public parking about 300m away and hard to find; two steep stairs, one outdoor timber construction more like a ladder than a stairs, to get to room - no lift. Room clean and comfortable. Did not eat so cant comment. Very centrally located.

limited parking but the person checking us in showed us where to park, very close to the hotel. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was good, i would have liked more of the delicious croissants for breakfast, and maybe more warm drinks, both are served , one croissant per person and one can of warm drink per person ( a 2 cup can). the service was very nice, beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and clean, bathroom was on the smaller side, that means if you are a big person you may have problems. breakfast price was 7.5 euros which i believe was a good price. I did not see an elevator but the hotels had rooms on the ground floor. location was great, close to many attractions 15-30 min by car, many war museums.

A noisy hotel in the middle of town.

We had a very plain room on the ground floor and got little sleep because of all of the street noise. The ad said there was no on site parking but plenty of free parking nearby. All of the parking near the hotel was full but the receptionist found us an off street spot to park near our room. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and the town is very nice to visit. However I
would not stay here again.

A good stay

For just a one night stay but we encouraged by the positive reviews and were not disappointed. While parking at the hotel is obviously a problem in this type town, after unloading the car there are a couple of good car-parks close to the hotel. The welcome was good - very friendly and relaxed with a quick check-in. The family room was really clean and a very good size. We would certainly book again if in the area and the hotel would make a great base for the beaches.

Pretty spartan hotel. We had twin bed room. It had two twin beds, small table, small TV, shower, sink and toilet. Not much else. Great location to beach that has millions of shells, and also to local shops and restaurants. Nothing was open for breakfast except for the best bakery we've ever visited anywhere; just follow the line of locals walking away with baguettes! Wifi service was quite poor, as it went in and out and was weak even when working. Free parking was available right outside the hotel, although we got the last spot and not sure where we'd have gone otherwise.

Not having stayed somewhere based on other peoples reviews I was unsure as to whether hotel would be OK. We are a family of four, our two children 13 and 19. The room had twin 2'6\" beds and a set of 3' bunk beds. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the room size and cleanliness. Whilst basic ( which we assumed it would be as only 2stars) it was more than adequate for our needs. We just wanted a base to sleep so we could visit nearby attractions of which there were many. The breakfast was basic - typical continental breakfast - but you could eat as much as you wanted. All the staff were very helpful and spoke English. Only downside was lack of parking, though you could park on the street.

Kings Hotel - now called Eisenhower Hotel

We arranged a late arrival (midnight) and there was someone waiting for us (not 24 hours). The room accommodated 6 people and had 2 bunk beds with 2 single beds. They were clean. They were great to sleep on & had no complaints. Shower was great. The room had no cooking facilities but could have done with a kettle for tea/coffee. The staff were very helpful and got hot water to make own coffee. The hotel is located in a small fishing port with great views near the sea. There is a local shop and supermarket nearby (within 5 mins walking distance) which helped to keep costs down and did our own breakfast. Plenty of restaurants but were expensive for a family budget. We had free parking on the hotel car park but plenty nearby (free). The hotel has changed its name since our visit. Now called the Eisenhower Hotel. Great place to stay to visit the American War Cemetery (open 9am-5pm)

Really convenient location, close to the sea.

Cheap and cheerful. Recently refurbished so clean but definitely budget end of the market. Suits me perfectly for diving and biking trips to Port en Bessin: they're always accommodating when I go.
If you want to waste your money on lobby music and soft furnishings go to another hotel. There is no shortage of ones who will take your eyes out simply for brearhing their air.

Nice but be warned if disabled

Bed was terribly hard and did not provide a rollaway bed as requested. The hotel said that they were accessible but not really. Only had one room available for accessibility. No elevator. Also getting around was difficult with a wheelchair. Breakfast was reasonable and pretty good overall. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was attached was good and fresh fish and seafood. We brought a blowup single bed just in case and it really saved my wife's back.

Everything about the hotel and the staff was good except the bathroom had a shower in a tub without any curtain or glass doors. There was no way to take a traditional shower without flooding the bathroom. Other than that, I would consider this hotel to be a good value.

Good central hotel for larger families/groups

We stayed 1 night at King Hotel with 2 adults, 2 kids aged 5 & 7 and a baby. The room was very central, had parking right outside and was a good base for us. The room was basic but very clean and huge - 2 twin beds, 2 lots of bunk beds and ample room for the cot. The price was okay but breakfast was an expensive extra so we visited the local bread store very close by which was even open on Sunday!! Overall not luxurious but very convenient for what we required as a pitstop on our way to the ferry back to UK.

Das Frühstück war reichlich.süss bis herzhaft,alles dabei.Sehr guter Schlafkomfort.Personal freundlich , man sollte schon etwas englisch oder französisch können.Die Lage war ideal .2min zum Hafenbecken und den Restaurants. Parken drei Meter vor der Zimmertür fand ich super.
