Hallways did not smell good. Musty smell and could have been old cigarettes smell.

Our shower didn’t drain we had to remove the drain out. A lot of water came out of the shower. Do to lack of proper glass panel.

Staff was very nice and polite. The views from golf course and sunrise was beautiful.

Firstly this hotel is in a lovely setting with the golf course, and view down to the sea. It's quiet and peaceful, with a good restaurant, spa and pool area. Ample parking right outside. There are a few parts of the hotel which could do with a freshen up (woodwork, carpets, paving, fencing) but overall its a good place to stay.

The resort was very nice. I little far from things though. The biggest issuebthat i have was that ther was no elevator. There are also bottles for you to refill during your stay, bubi only saw 1 refill station while there.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Step into tub was very high with no grab bars. Floor of tub very slippery and unstable(floor deflected a great deal). We stayed in the Colombier wing with no elevator. Manageable but getting more difficult for our age group. Great location for visiting Normandy sites. Breakfast buffet was excellent, dinner night before was less so.

The hotel had great staff. The common areas are nice and very well done. The only thing that prevented a 5 star rating was the very small and dated feel of the room we had. It felt more like staying at an aunt’s house than a hotel. It was our first time in the area, so I don’t know if that’s standard for the area. Given the very limited options in that area, the proximity to Omaha Beach, and the friendliness of the staff, would recommend, and stay again.

Very friendly staff but our room was tiny and had an alcove on one side which we both accidentally bumped out heads against. Dinner was good but service was a little slow. It was quite serviceable for our needs but nothing special unless you are a golfer or with a large group like the Roads Scholars we meet there.

Please note you need a car if staying in this area. It was very hard to get taxi’s (especially in August) and there are no Uber’s in the area.

Over priced tiny room!!!

We went with friends, we paid for 2 same comfort rooms however our room was a very small pokey room with no room to relax as everything was so squashed in where as our friends room was so much better and even had a balcony with a nice view over looking the pool where our poky window overlooked the car park. I feel very upset with our stay as even the reception staff let slip the room was normally used for 1 person not 2!! Even the bed sheet was ripped and torn!

I loved the scenic nature of the property. I love the multi-language nature of the staff. I loved the breakfast with several options depending on how hungry I was. I loved the restaurant when I could eat there.

I did not like the fact that there were no clocks in my room and very few around the property. I do not like using my cellphone as an alarm clock. I also did not like the fact that half of the television channels were not working during my stay. It was not a large deal, but combined with no clocks, it was hard to keep with things in the States.

Overall, I loved my stay, will recommend it to others, and will be back to stay again...bringing my own clock!

Needs a lot of TLC

We have loved Mercure hotels we have stayed at in the past and that is why we chose this one. This hotel did not live up to the Mercure name and is in dire need of repairs. The WiFi was the worst we had our entire trip (6 different hotels) and would barely load a page, the faucet in the shower was coming apart from the wall, the safe was locked when we arrived (thankfully was a quick fix), the soap in the shower was empty when we tried to shower, there were no towels or robes in the room for the pool, and the fitness room had broken machines, even through there were only 3. The service from the front desk was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. It appears the hotel needs a lot of extra help to get back up to a good standard, maybe after being closed for a while.

Very nice hotel minutes from all of the area attractions. Wonderful breakfast daily. Restaurant on site with a good menu and open until midnight daily. Nice pool (although we didn’t use it). Seems to be a great golf course on the grounds, but my wife and I don’t play. My only negative comment was that the AC didn’t work in our room but simply leaving the window open left it comfortable. Would definitely recommend and worth not hesitate to stay again if we visited the area in the future.

We initially stayed for a night but because of the weather we decided to come back and stay with them. The first night was amazing, the hospitality of the check in staff was impeccable, the room we had was upstanding!

However the next day we were put in a room that was on the second floor, the shower head was broke, the drain stopper was popped out and we had to ask for more towels since there was not enough.

But over all the staff was amazing as always, we will definitely recommend and come back to stay here!

Prestige room was good size but bathroom a bit shabby around the edges. Room had an unpleasant smell due to the plastic coated flooring. Should have had proper cups for hot drinks rather than paper cups! Service in the dining room was good given they looked understaffed. Dinner was awful, undercooked and cold in places, but immediate credit given. Breakfast expensive for what it was, miserable undercooked bacon, and no English breakfast tea! Staff were very helpful and service good.

We arrived around 8:00-8:30pm - and was told we could not eat in the restaurant - they had no space. They said the town was about a 15 minute walk away, but that things would be closing there. So our only option was room service. The selection and food was OK. We asked if we could eat it outside on the patio and were told no - it had to be eaten in our room. Not a very welcome arrival. But staff were helpful the next two days.

Very nice hotel, great location. Great because it’s close to all the d-day activities but also a beautiful town and countryside. The staff was friendly. There’s a spa and restaurant on the grounds, there’s also a golf course. The restaurant made me a yummy vegan meal too. Breakfast was good but not a lot for vegans but the view was so pretty. They give you robes and slippers, I used the slippers because the flooring in the hotel is very hard, kinda like indoor outdoor carpet, that’s they only thing I didn’t like.

The staff were pleasant however, the room itself was in need of updating. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, scuff marks on the paint and curtains not even hanging on the curtain rods. This hotel is way out in the middle of the countryside on a golf course. Was not in a convenient location. Would mot recommend to people wanting to stay closer to Bayeau.

Not for D-Day tourists— great otherwise!

I think 4 star is a little exaggerated, but we did enjoy our stay here. Do note that the hotel is far from restaurants and other spots and taxis in the area are rare.

If you’re looking to relax and get away from things, however— this is a great spot. Amazing breakfast, lovely dinner restaurant, and the golf course is beautiful. The spa was also quite reasonable.

Although we enjoyed our stay, we’ll likely stay in Port-en-Bessin or Bayeux next time just because those towns are so enjoyable and convenient. But, if we ever need a golf weekend, we’d surely come back!

The hotel is a little hard to find but with GPS its a breeze. We were upgraded to Chambre Privilege because it was actually a relocation service via Hotels.com because there was problem with my reservation in another hotel. The reception was very pleasant and warm, when we arrived it was already 10PM and asked if we already had dinner and that she will be giving me an upgraded room for no additional charge.

Room ok, but mould on silicone around bath and coir type floor felt sticky under bare feet (can't be easy to clean).
Staff friendly enough and location good (for golf!) and D-Day beaches/museums which is why we were there.

My wife and I had a three night stay at this hotel while visiting the Normandy beach landings, hotel very easy to find, staff where great, rooms nice and clean with everything you needed, nice pool area with a heated pool, also has a spar etc but we did not use as out and about in the lovely surrounding French country side, on site restaurant was very good also and food and wine though a little expensive was also very good, would defiantly go back again 😀

Great location to see all five landing sites and in land movements. I believe the longest drive we took was 30 minutes to get to the Utah Beach Museum. All others were closer. Hotel staff was superior. Heated pool, full spa, and golf course. Hotel breakfast for all tastes and diets Quiet location..

Good location for Normandy tour

Booked this hotel for two nights for my wife and me at the start of a ten day visit to Normandy. Ideally located for visiting all the WW2 tourist sites along the coast. Hotel is easy to find if you stick to the D514, follow the AA or RAC route directions and you will find the route rather circuitous.
The welcome at reception on our arrival was first class; the receptionist went out of her way to explain various tourist sites, the facilities at the hotel etc. and directed us personally to our room. The room was a good size overlooking the car park and 18th fairway of the golf course. The wall coverings needed attention, lifting off the wall surface in places but the room was clean and tidy. Surprised at the absence of toiletries in the bathroom, shower cap, shampoo etc.
Restaurant was very good in both atmosphere and quality of food but pricey if you are on a limited budget. I left clothing at the hotel but the staff did their best to find it, and eventually mailed it to my home address some time after the holiday. Value for money: Not a cheap hotel, but then you pay for the location.

This place was a great little stop while traveling through France. It was easy to get to, which was appreciated, as we were finding our way for the first time from America so the street signs leading us to the hotel were perfect. On a golf course so that was nice and quiet. The room was clean, spacious for France, and bed was comfy. Front counter was helpful. The restaurant staff was meh. I think that was more the golf clubhouse than the hotel but noneven he less it should be noted since they are the same property and it's about the only thing to eat out there. Otherwise, I would go back. Great place!

Stay here only if you're a golfer. It's not in town, so no strolling or local restaurants or sights. Our room was made even smaller than it was by a sloping ceiling over the window. The restaurant offers no vegetarian options; it's basically a golf clubhouse restaurant.

NIce but confusing

I parked and entered the reception with dragging my luggage to later find out I had been upgraded to the golf suites so I had to get back in my car with luggage. The entrance in the back area was not clearly marked. Finally ; I Was not advised that my unsolicited upgrade to the golf villas 4th floor had no elevator (I had 2 pcs of luggage in plain sight) So I had to hand carry my +60lbs of luggage up stairs.
