Its a beautiful chateau in Normandy. It is everything you are hoping for. We will stay here again if we ever get back to France. I had dreams of living here. 😁. It is just up the road from Omaha beach and in a great location. We are so happy we stayed here vs in Bayeux. Bayeux is nice but this was perfect.

It was a wonderful stay in a French chateau in the countryside. We rented a car so there was no issue with transportation but I’m not sure how you would get around if you didn’t have one. Our room was on the top floor but they helped carry the suitcases up as there was no elevator. I was worried about not having air conditioning but there was a fan in the room and when the windows were open it had a nice cross breeze so it wasn’t an issue. The gardens were amazing and well kept. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant as well. The pool and hot tubs were ok. The sauna was not working. I would have liked to have known the history of the Chateau but I couldn’t find anything (like a brochure or even on the Internet) that could elaborate on it. I really did love our stay there. I loved our cozy little room. The bathroom was a good size and every window had a stunning view.

We had a very enjoyable stay, spent a lot of the time at the pool which was heated and in a nice location. Room was large considering it was a standard. Staff friendly, clean hotel, lots of parking, short drive to town, nice location and surroundings.

We didn't eat at the restaurant as didn't like the menu.

Our room was a Superior room with large windows looking out to the front of this impressive chateau. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and we slept well.The bathroom was good but was let down by a very lame shower. We ate dinner there both nights but I hadn't noticed at the time of booking that it was a Michelin restaurant. The food was excellent but of course very expensive. We did not have breakfast but it looked good. There is a swimming pool which we made a little use of but the area lacked sunbeds and was quite uninviting.

We traveled with a group of 8 family members. This boutique hotel is not centrally located in a town, but is very conveniently located to visiting the various attractions in the area. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet. The spa and pool areas were also very nice and we would definitely return for a longer stay.

Truly an interesting property with past history and beautiful grounds. The rooms are outdated and cluttered… It is convenient for visiting Bayeaux and region. The most dissatisfying aspect of the Chateau de Sully is the front desk staff. Unfortunately they act as if they are providing exemplary service… they are too busy to respond to simple requests by the guests.
As a reception desk personnel; you must be attentive and have a friendly welcoming attitude. Stop the fake rigor and act professional! Would I stay here again? The answer is no due to the reception desk attitude.

We had a wonderful stay and wish we had planned to stay one more night. The hotel is beautiful with top notch service. It’s a few miles outside of Bayeux, but they offer a shuttle service (for a fee). The breakfast was superb. The hotel has a restaurant that’s not cheap. So if you want to get dinner that’s not expensive, you have to go to Bayeux.

Very nice stay at the Chateau. Beautiful property and the spa was welcome. Gourmet food too mad it an easy option to stay for a couple of nights. Shame the restaurant is closed Mondays. Loved our swim in the pool and hot tub, sadly the sauna was not warm enough or convenient to use.
Main issue is the rooms are a little tired but still, a very good stay in the countryside.

Property around the Chateau is nice, and the countryside setting is OK. The building itself is old, with horrible wallpaper in the rooms, no AC, and no elevator. Bags have to be carried up a lot of stairs, with no railings for the upper floor. The lack of AC means the rooms get very warm, unless you open the windows - but there are no screens and plenty of bugs come into the room (mosquitoes, various flies, moths, and spiders). The staff was very friendly and helpful, the massage was good at the spa, and the food at the restaurant was excellent. It was isolated from town, with no available transportation except our car and no food delivery available.

Very disappointing. Hotel has been bought and they are going to start renovations in the fall. Hotel has probably not been updated for 40 years.
Our sink was cracked, the felt welting on closet doors was falling off. A light in the hall blinked all night. The carpet behind the front desk was taped down due to wear.
Staff was very kind. They are embarrassed by the state of the hotel. My kids had better dorm rooms!

We spent a few nights here while on our honeymoon. What an absolutely beautiful and relaxing hotel! We enjoyed everything about this place. It is charming, quaint, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and hospitable. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner there one night and it was probably the best meal of our lives. I hope to come back some day!

The chateau is set in amazing grounds with well kept gardens within easy reach of the Normandy coastline. The service was excellent all stall were very attentive friendly and helpful everywhere was spotlessly clean the food in the Michelin starred restaurant was amazing.
We booked a standard room and was expecting a king size bed and was disappointed this was not the case with no mini bar and the shower was very cubicle was vey small.

Big Hotel, small room

We spent the last couple of nights at this hotel, following a 2 week road trip around Europe. The building and grounds are beautiful and the hotel staff friendly and helpful. Like most of the hotels we stayed in during this trip, all booked through Hotel.com, we found that the room was much smaller than the ones on the hotel website. I am starting to think they keep those rooms back for the customers who book direct with them and not through Hotels.com, to whom they always give their customers the smaller rooms!
Our roof was on the top floor with sloping ceiling under the eaves. It was decorated in a certain 'style', which we found a bit oppressive in that all the walls and soft furnishings were in the same floral design. Being a small room it was a bit too much!
That said the Hotel was nice, in a great location about 10 minutes outside Bayeux and we would go there again (as long as we dont get the flowery room).

The view driving into the chateau is beautiful however, our enjoyment ended there. We had booked our stay at least 8 months prior to our arrival. We checked in at 6 PM and were given the last remaining room. The room was not what we had booked and we were disappointed. The chateau has a nice dining room however we were so disappointed with our room and the response from the front desk that we chose to eat elsewhere. In the morning, my husband attempted to use the pool however it was not open.

Serene and elegant chateau ideal base for Bayeux

Super relaxing to be in the quiet of the countryside though also not far from Bayeux. It was difficult to find in the dark with our satnav not quite picking it up. Really spacious room and period decor but also all expected facilities for a quality hotel. Breakfast was continental only. The chateau had a calm feeling. the spa pool, sauna, hot tubs and gym were all good. For our short stay we couldn't make the most of them but it is definitely a place to revisit. we came to see the Bayeux tapestry but there's a lot more to do in this area than we expected. A great holiday destination for those interested in WW2.

The food was excellent, the service was good and the staff were very efficient. However, the drinks in the bar were extortionate ( a single shot G&T was €18). The hotel did not resemble the pictures shown on the website. The whole complex was very “tired”! The sink in our room was cracked (definitely an old crack as it was very discoloured) and the shower leaked under the bath screen leaving the floor in pools of water. Whats more you couldn’t even open the fridge that was in the room.

It was fun to stay in a Chateau. We were there in the off season and mid week so for one of the two nights we stayed, we were the only guests. The first night there was two other people. So, it felt a bit awkward because we were the only ones. Otherwise, the location was good for us as we explored the D-Day beaches and spent time in Bayeux. The Chateau itself is lovely. They could update the the room we were in with fresh paint but overall it was a nice experience.

Hotel Staff Very Rude

Cons: Unfortunately, my husband and I had a horrible experience with the front desk staff during an incident when my husband’s wedding band went missing after our room was cleaned by the maid. They were rude and unwilling to help. They blamed it on us and said they weren’t responsible. (There was one female receptionist that was pleasant).

We stayed in the Junior Suite which was a beautiful room but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. No air conditioning. They advertise having an exercise facility however there are 3 pieces of equipment that are very outdated and dysfunctional so don’t count on using this equipment like we did.

Pros: Beautiful grounds. Great location near Bayeux (cute town with beautiful cathedral and an array of shopping and restaurants - our favorite restaurant was Le Marsala).

Nice hotel near Normandy

This hotel is a real chateau near Bayeaux (about 2 miles away from city center). The property is well-maintained and full of French countryside charm. Our family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms in one of the buildings on the property close to the main chateau. The rooms are not air conditioned, but it was cool at night with a nice breeze. We did not eat on-property but drove into town both evenings.

There is an indoor pool and 2 hot tubs that we enjoyed one morning. Just be aware that they are only open between 9AM and 6PM, so we were only able to use them by heading out late one morning. This property isn't really targeted for tourists to use as a home base for touring the Normandy region. It is suited more for couples who are going for a spa or romantic retreat in a quiet location.

If you are contemplating a visit to Normandie, this is a perfect place to stay. It is absolutely lovely in a great setting, and very close to Bayeaux. I would probably recommend it more for adults, than for families because the vibe is simply more \"adult.\" Very short trip to Normandie. Service was terrific, very quiet.

Beautiful grounds and main Chateau. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a separate building with two rooms and a shared entryway. It was quite pretty but a little run down (dirty carpet, grunge around bathroom fixtures). The laundry facilities must have been located in the rear of this building, as both mornings we were treated to the voices and loud laughter of the staff just outside our bathroom. Bed was very firm and not comfortable. It was quite hit during our stay and the pool was unusable (water was very warm and the facility was hit like a sauna). I suspect it might have been nicer to stay in the main Chateau. No question that the grounds make you feel as though you are in a fairytale!

Really lovely chateaux.

We stayed here last week for four nights. Such a beautiful hotel in a really beautiful setting. The staff were wonderful, always happy and willing to speak English as our French isn't good!! The food is out of this world and I definitely recommend having at least one evening meal in their restaurant as it's a fantastic experience. Port en bessin is just down the road as is bayeux and both are worth visiting. Our rooms were fine, beds really comfy, we didn't need for anything. Will definitely return someday. We didn't use the pool or spa so can't comment on them.

Stayed 3 nights. Quick check in, staff speak great English. Very efficient and welcoming. Room was spacious with excellent shower. Dined in the Michelin starred restaurant, food was excellent, good value and service was timely and pleasant. Breakfast was very good. We used the hotel as a base for our visit to the D-day beaches. Indoor pool area was clean, although there were quite a large number of flies in the pool when we used it. Would definitely stay again at this hotel if in the area.

Beautiful property located 5 minutes from the city of Bayeux. This city has some nice reasonable priced places to eat, the famous tapestry that is 70 feet and a large cathedral. D day beaches about 30 minutes away max and of course the museums. Utah,Omaha,Point du hoc.
Prices on site are very high but if you don't mind driving into town it's not a problem. Front desk gentlemen when we checked in spoke good English and was very accommodating.

Best without little children. The staff was accommodating, yet my brothers children are 5 and 4 and it was a bit nerve wracking that they would break something. The pool and room where the pool was were cold so it was not appealing to swim.

I asked for a triple and they charged me a 100 euros more for it,. I was expecting to have a bed for each of my children for that price. There were only a double bed and a roll away. I don't call that a triple

Located near a major road, you can hear the cars all night
Our room was on top of the kitchen the smell was bad.
and I found bugs
I was bitten on my leg

No lift, and nobody offered to carry our suitcases upstairs

Would not recommend
You are better of with a chain hotel at Bayeux

Lovely

Beautiful grounds & very clean room. Wifi would not reach our room we had to go to the bar area to connect. Breakfast was delicous. Chateau is @ 3 miles out from the town centre. We took an Overlord took which began at 8:15. I asked for a breakfast box to go & was told no by the staff. As a result we did not get lunch until 2 pm when our guide stopped for lunch. I would recommend that a \"to go\" breakfast be available in the future

Absolutely lovely

This is truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The ambience and grounds were so beautiful and we felt immediately relaxed. The food was AMAZING. The rooms are a good size for Europe standards and the staff was top notch. The only recommendation would be to have outside tables for dining so we can enjoy the fabulous grounds even more!!!

This is the place

Unless you need an elevator to get upstairs don't stay anywhere else. This was a great place to stay. Easy access to Bayeux, quiet, secure - food was OUTSTANDING!
Somehow they had a double booking for us - we only used Hotels.com for our travel and they had two booking from Expedia; one matched our confirmation email one did not. Staff at Sully took care of the problem instantly.

Beautiful Chateau in quiet surroundings.

Overall stay was lovely. Dinner was amazing, & our waiter, Stephen was superb. One miner problem was a broken shower that kept falling off & hitting us on the head. It was not fixed after we notified them. one management person was pretty abrupt, especially with a waitress, but the rest of the staff were impeccable! Would definitely return.
