Très bon séjour, le cadre est vraiment calme et reposant, l'appartement est assez grand et équipé, l'hôtel dispose d'une laverie. Nous y sommes restés 3 nuits et tout s'est très bien passé. Je recommande.

Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and rural. As well as a well-groomed golf course and pasture area with roaming cows. Units are 2 story with a kitchen (no oven), and 2 bathrooms on each level. There is also a patio overlooking the property great for evening dinners or coffee in the morning. Unfortunately we couldn't use it due to the weather. This is not a typical hotel establishment, there is no housekeeping. You're required to make your own beds and clean up when leaving. Even bring extra toilet paper for you only get the 1 roll supplied.
Clothes washer/dryer (at a charge) are community and not in the unit. The area being rural there are no eating establishments locally. Only 1 food truck that comes by in the evenings for a limited amount of time. They also ask you bring your plates from your room when ordering food at the truck (ODD). The reception area has coffee and some breakfast items in the morning (at a cost) and again they ask you bring your coffee mugs from your room. With all this being said, I would recommend this establishment to others and would consider staying here again now that it's clear what to expect.
Even though there are some oddities this was a great value for the price.

Make sure you communicate with the property before you arrive on what time you will be arriving. There is not a normal reception like most hotels/places to stay. When we called the number because we couldn’t get through the gate, the lady was speaking to someone else and laughing. Very unprofessional and rude. The place itself was nothing special, I selected a double bed, twins and a pull out for 5 of us staying and the bed upstairs was just two twins put together & they kept sliding apart, then my teens slept on the pull out couch and my youngest had a pull out mattress on the floor. Very uncomfortable. Will not be booking with this property again. Nothing like described on Expedia.

Really cold in winter

Pierre & Vacances Residence Le Green Beach is a summer holiday rental, not a hotel, and this distinction should be more transparent during booking. Unfortunately, this lack of clarity significantly impacted our experience.

When we arrived, the unit was unheated and incredibly cold, with an indoor thermometer reading below 10°C (50°F). Despite turning on all available heaters and leaving them on while we went out for dinner, the temperature only rose to 11°C (52°F). We contacted reception, but the technician who came simply confirmed the heaters were working and left without addressing the issue. The heating system lacked the capacity to make the unit comfortable, forcing my family to sleep fully dressed in multiple layers. Even after running the heat all night, the ground floor remained freezing, and we left the next morning due to the unlivable conditions.

Other issues included a non-functioning dryer and small, frustrating extra charges—€1 for a second facility map and €0.20 for a splash of milk in a €1 coffee. These fees, while minor, left us feeling nickel-and-dimed.

The property is also remote, requiring a 10-minute drive to the nearest town, which may be inconvenient for some travelers.

While the residence may be suitable for summer stays, it is wholly unfit for winter visits due to inadequate heating and lack of comfort. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend it for off-season stays.

Disappointing accommodation

This is a really lovely place except it is very let down by the tired and rundown condition of the accommodation. The pools and surroundings are beautifully kept. It is a shame that the same level of care is not given to the interiors of the properties. In particular the bathrooms are in dire need of updating and everything in the kitchen looked like it needed a good scrub. Do not be fooled by the photos of the accommodation shown. The staff are friendly and very helpful and apologised for the general condition of the houses. Another positive is that despite having no restaurant or shop on site they have a bakery that visits most mornings and different meal suppliers in the evening's, which are of an excellent quality. Brilliant spot for all the D Day locations and lovely beaches.

Reception was not available to check in for 2 days. Had to find another hotel. Tried to arrange check in by phone and they never answered my calls. Reception hours on website, emails and phone line message did not match actual posted hours. Only good thing is by the third day someone was finally there on site to issue me a refund. Hotels.com was no help at all.

The complex is very nice and the surroundings are lovely. Port en Bessin which is just a short drive away is very nice with lots of restaurants and places to walk. However, our studio was very disappointing, although well equipped it was not in good repair. We had a broken shower that had to be fixed, we had a hotplate that didn't work and on our third day we had no hotwater. The reception staff were very nice and quickly responded to put right the problems but the studio was not fit for purpose and needs to be renovated.

Check in was at 17:00 where we were greeted warmly at reception by Thomas who spoke excellent English (mercifully as my French is embarrassingly bad). He gave us the full low down on the property and local area which included a map. If you've reviewed the property properly then you'll know that it's fully self catering and you're responsible to keep it clean and make your beds. The interior was perhaps slightly dated compared to other 4 star hotels but it was very clean and everything worked. The kitchen area had 4 ring hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and dishwasher as well as a plentiful supply of utensils, pots and pans. No condiments so if you plan to cook either come prepared or head 2 minutes by car to the supermarket in Port En Bessin. Local baker calls every morning at 9am too. There was plenty of outdoor space between the hotel and the golf course to make use of and the hotel pools were heated. If you plan to explore the area we'd recommend bringing or hiring a car as Bayeux is a 10-15 minute drive. Great location to explore the D-Day beaches and museums with Omaha and Arromanches both only 15 minutes away. This is a great place to stay for a family (4 of us). We stayed for 8 nights and would definitely check this place out again if back in Normandy.

Perfect Location

Good location to explore the local area and D-Day beaches, quiet with great views and plenty of parking spaces, and a easy walk to the nearby town. Good facilities in the house accommodation with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room, indoor and outdoor dining tables, clean bedding and towels in packs, and good wifi connection. The outdoor swimming pool is heated, which was the better option, especially when the indoor pool was busy. Other activities include a children's playground, volleyball and golf. Also has a free holiday book swap (various language books), and children's colouring etc. activities in the reception area. An easy walk into town with information at the reception for things to do and see in the area. We called in advance to notify reception of our late arrival, and they were very friendly and helpful in arranging our key collection when they were closed. A great place to stay if you want a self-catered house to yourself, rather than just a hotel room.

The check-in ladies were not very pleasant. No real greeting, hurried behavior, no explanation as to how things worked and where to find access to things on site. The unit smelled a bit musty and sour smelling in the bathrooms. No toilet paper to accommodate a family of 4 (only 1/4 of 1 roll), no soaps, and having to put sheets and duvet cover on the beds we were sleeping on, wifi was horrible

Pros - Beautiful location & heated outdoor swimming pool.
Cons - Taking into consideration this is a large self catering complex there are no facilities on site to buy anything not even a bottle of water. There are no shops within at least 2 miles, the shops in the town close at around 7.30pm - 8pm be prepared if you do not have a car.
We booked to take 2 small dogs but our apartment was on the first floor not ideal if dogs need letting out in the middle of the night. Had no idea that our dog friendly accomm would be upstairs. Upstairs room is up a very steep set of narrow stairs not great for small children
Accommodation was well equipped but very tired and grubby. Some areas of our apartment looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for months. The towels that are provided are very small and thin.
Hairdryer and iron available on request - as this was advertised on he website I did not take my own, asked several times for these and they were not available and the staff did not know when the would be available. Seems there is no time limit on returning the items once you have secured them so it’s anybody’s guess when you will be able to dry your hair!!
You are required to make your own bed on arrival, clean kitchen area and empty bins on departure. Not something I expect to do when I have paid all that money to go on holiday.
Lack of hot water early in the mornings, as reception doesn’t open until 8.30am you are unable to sort this if you want to be up and out by this time.

Check in times are very limited. We arrived at the property at 7:15 pm , front desk was closed. when we called the number that was left with instructions it said the number did not exist. Thank God I saw a maintenance man who came to lock the pool i think and laundry facilities. He did not understand me at al , but i was able to convey to him that we need the keys to our property. He was very helpful, open the safe with multiple keys and booklets of other residents who did not arrive yet. he pointed in the direction of where to look for our unit.

My family and I really enjoyed our 4 nights summer holiday, it is so great for kids, my son enjoyed the facilities especially the pools. We visited Festyland Parc, which was just about 46mins drive from the hotel, the hotel was clean, spacious for my family, but it had a bit of spell. We had to use dettol spray on the sofas and surfaces.

This was the PERFECT place for our family! We were traveling with my brother-in-law and our whole family and the \"house\" option gave us plenty of space for everyone. The location was perfect for visiting the Normandy sites. I loved that it was not directly inside a city but still had the conveniences close by. We really felt like we were \"away from it all\". The staff was ALL very helpful. One of the BEST things I will remember is the AMAZING bakery available in the lobby area. It was the BEST bakery/croissants we had during our entire 3 week vacation. If we make it back to the area, we will DEFINITELY come back to stay here.

Arriving late was a nightmare. No clear instructions had been given to access our key to the unit and it was very dark. The clothes dryer malfunctioned and when we tried to dry at the facility at the near the reception area, we needed euros to insert. The reception desk had no coins! We left with wet clothes in our car. The people in reception we’re either not well trained or not very friendly.

This is not a hotel, it is a timeshare rented out like a hotel. There is inadequate staff coverage to run the property like a hotel. Check in window is only two hours in the afternoon, ending early. If you arrive late you have to call a property management company to try to get your key. The pool is only open from 1000 to 1930, basically unusable by anyone touring or sightseeing during the day. The rooms are generally dirty, aside from being dusty and stuffy from always being locked up and not used regularly. The beds are not made, guests are expected to make them (not something you want to do in a three bed room after 12 hours of sightseeing). There is no restaurant on the property, we had to drive to a different hotel to eat. This is a timeshare on a golf course, we didn't see any guests under the age of 60 on the property.

Good for a Family Stay

Spent three days visiting Bayeux and the WWII sites in the area. This was a nice, centralized location to reach most of the sites within a 20-25 minute drive. Our family of four adults and two children, 10/13yr old, were able to fit comfortably in their two bedroom apartment. We utilized the fridge, freezer, dishes, stovetop and dishwasher throughout the stay. There is a Supermarket in town to stock up food to cook at reasonable prices should you not want to go out to eat for every meal. Breakfast at the resort is a one hour visit from one of the Patisseries between 0830-0930 (and not on Mondays) so it's a good idea to stock up on cereals, breads or eggs in town, as we did. Little things like salt/pepper, sugar packets for coffee, etc. are a good thing to remember to bring. We had no issues with the towels or sheets provided for the three day stay, although we did bring beach towels for pool activities. Wi-fi in the room does get a little iffy at times, but we only used the basic services and it wasn't the reason for the visit! The TV is mainly all-French, with the 3-4 German channels not always coming through on the satellite (weather related, perhaps). All in all, we'd certainly go back and stay here again as we enjoyed our stay.

The apartments where nice and provided plenty of space. The issues we had where that the office closes at 7pm. The laundry and pool closed by 8pm and the office didn't open back up until 8:30am. Their credit card machine didn't work and it forced me to go into town to get euros to pay cash for taxes/crib that weren't covered in the expedia booking.

Overall, a great value for the money! I would stay there again for sure. Three complaints: the \"free wifi\" is only free for three days, then you have to pay. Our free period ended the night before we left, so this wasn't a big deal....but if your customers book four days, just give them four days of wifi!. The pool was clean and nice, but the water was a little cool, and it is only open until 7:30pm. After a day of sightseeing, this didn't leave much time to swim. The property grounds were beautiful and well-maintained, but VERY dark at night. We were using cell phone flashlights to get to and from the residence from the parking lot. More lighting in the paths is needed. I felt safe the property, despite this. Good location, just a few minutes from Bayeux. Everything we wanted to see was within 40 minutes by car.

Quiet and picturesque location

Pleasant stay in historic and idyllic location of Normadie. Apartment was small but fine for our family. Toilet was a bit small and little smelly but not a major problem. Pool was good and a nice temperature. It's a 15 minute walk into Port en Bessin which is a quant little port with nice restaurants and market. All of the WW2 sites nearby are essential and moving visits. Pastries delivered on site in the morning were lovely!

This is not a hotel but a resort where the expectation is to stay for a while. We had to make our own beds, not enough towels, but overall it was ok. Has a very nice pool. We arrived around 4:30pm and no one was at the lobby. We got lucky and found an employee who was outside otherwise I'm still not sure how we would have finally gotten to our room.

Beds are Hard as Rocks!

The place was clean except a smell coming from the downstairs bathroom. The beds were all HARD. There was no comfort, no give in the beds. By 3am I back hurt so bad it took awhile to get back to sleep. The kitchen was fine except you need to know there's no oven. Somehow we missed that. The place echoes so it's hard for kids to get to sleep if the adults are still awake. This isn't really a hotel so you have to strip the beds and empty the trash and make sure the dishes are clean before you checkout. They do NOT have free cribs/portable cribs for you to use as a hotel does. You have to pay 10 euros a night to rent one. And, when you get there you have to make your own beds. So, if you get in late, keep that in mind. You also need to put the trash bags into the trash cans. I'm just letting people know. I reserved this off of hotels.com so my thought was 'hotel'. It doesn't have the same services as a hotel. It's was an okay stay. I just wish I had known all of this before I came so I would not have been surprised by it. My main complaint is the beds. I will not stay here again because of that.

Nice resort, but not 4 star.

It was a nice place for a weeks stay, however I wouldn't have liked to stay in peak season as I don't think the pools would have coped with the volume of people. The apartment wasn't the cleanest and it could do with a new coat of paint. The beds were also incredibly uncomfortable, so much so that I dreaded going to bed every night. New bedding and mattresses are badly needed.

Port Bessin and the surrounding areas including Bayeux are lovely. I would love my own holiday home in this area, I can't fault it at all.

Not a typical hotel in that these are more like an apartment rental but there is a reception/staff to assist you if you need help. The location is beautiful in the French countryside near a golf course. There are bikes to rent and three pools one indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools. The lobby had a handful of games and toys for kids to play with. Our family (4 kids ages 18 thru 10) really enjoyed our stay. You would need a car to get around to visit the area to see the WW2 memorial sites Etc..

Perfect for a family holiday

We booked a two bed apartment for a family holiday (us and the in-laws) and it was perfect for what we were after. As it was an off-season, we enjoyed swimming in a nearly empty pool everyday though we hardly had any sun but as both pools are heated, we didn't mind that too much. After a day of site-seeing, it was a great way to wind down. If you are going to swim, I suggest you bring a spare towel as the hotel only supply a towel a week and you might want to keep one to use only in the apartment.
You do need a car to get to places but as long as you do, the hotel is well located for all the site-seeing places.
We had all our lunches out, and dinner at the apartment. They supply with a box of washing up liquids and dish washer tablets, but I suggest you bring basic condiments i.e. salt, pepper, oil, tea/coffee, sugar so that you don't have to buy a big bottles/boxes just for your stay.

Great location for Normandy Beaches

We had a relaxing 4 night stay at Pierre. It was quiet and had wide open spaces for the kids. It offered swimming, volleyball, ping pong, and a playground. Good wifi was low cost at 15Euro for 3 days. Tv didn't offer anything for English speaking people. Shower was awesome. We had to make our own beds though, didn't like that part when on vacation. Pool needed to remain open a bit longer, closed at 7:30. No food options around either,except some croussaints you pay for in the mornings only. Staff was good and checkin and out were easy.

My family and I chose this facility for its price and ability to fit our family comfortably. We all fit nicely and had a little room to store snacks. The room upstairs would not be suitable for anyone who has mobility issues due to the stairs. The showers upstairs had the slopes ceiling, so watch your head. The room was clean and had a nice balcony over looking the playground. There is not a lot of parking so we had to park pretty far from our unit, which wasn't too bad until the rain moved in. All in all we were satisfied with this property.

We were looking for a room where all of us could stay together near the Normandy beaches, and this fit the bill. More: it was lovely that the kids could run around on the green and play ball sports with the balls freely provided by the hotel, and swim in the swimming pool (they require supervision for small children) and that we had a kitchenette to compensate for the lack of vegetables of those lovely French restaurant meals. Every unit has a little patio where you can eat your picnic of French bread and cheeses without having crumbs all over your apartment, just perfect. you can rent bikes to get around, but one really needs a car to visit the beaches other than Omaha
Only thing: be aware you have to make your own bed upon arrival, and you will need to make a stop in the local store (closes at 19u30) to get basics, including pepper, salt, coffee, milk, paper towel, napkins and the like, none of which are provided by the hotel (though there is a little welcome back with dish soap and so on). Also be aware the reception closes at 19u. Towels/sheets provided are not quite as the 4-stars might lead to expect, but all in all very functional. We enjoyed it better than would have a hotel.

Perfect for families

We have five children so finding a place to stay where we didn't need two hotel rooms was nearly impossible. This place was perfect for us - simple, clean, and close to lots of sights. Having a mini kitchen was very helpful and the laundry machine on site was also great and worked well.

The only negative was that the pool closed very early every day. It was very difficult to go see the sights and be back in time to let the kids go swimming (which they really wanted to do, but that wasn't our purpose in going to France so it only happened once).

The position was the only positive. Your bedding is in a plastic bag and you make and unmake your own bed. You might as well stay at home as you have to do everything yourself.

Good location, close to Normandy beaches. Beds are not comfortable and stairs are steep up to second floor bedrooms. Challenging when traveling with elderly and small children. Walls very thin and we could hear everything going on in neighboring units.
Good pool for kids.

Nice hotel very quiet country location

Great hotel with lots of room in the apartments. We arrive between noon and four to find reception closed. Also you have to make your own bed with sheets provided. I was with my son and a room with 2 bed would have been more comfortable.
But otherwise an excellent spot and I plan that go back in September. Great staff fantastic setting. Inside and outside pools. Everything nearby.

This is really a timeshare, not a hotel.

This is a timeshare, not a hotel. There is no 24 hour desk and you go to a market to purchase your own toilet paper. You cannot even get to from the desk.
The area and the grounds are lovely and perhaps this was just our unit. The first day we find' t have hot water. We took cold showers and went about our day. The shower leaked into the upstairs bedroom, hence the mildew smell. We used all our towels cleaning it up. That evening they promptly came a d fixed the hot water, however as soon as we had hot water, the toilet no longer flushed. After a night with no toilet, no 24 hour front desk, we had then come to fix the toilet but then the hot water no longer worked the shower.
The maintenance man was always prompt and kind. The front desk staff was kind and helpful. Our unit probably doesn't represent the entire property but we couldn't wait to leave.

Out in the middle of no where....

There in not enough parking to support the number of guest. Each room is given a parking spot that matches the room number. We were only able to use this spot 1 of 3 nights. The closest we were able to park when someone took our spot was a half mile away. This is a barebones place. We had to make our beds upon arrival. We had to purchase everything for the stay (ie dish soap, bath soap, eat). The internet is not included (25 euro) and difficult to connect your devices. The staff is only available from 8:30 to 20:00... Hard to ask the Staff for assistance if you are making the most out of your time in Normandy.

\"This is not Hotel!\"

Oh where to begin... The quote above is from the staff. It was the explanation given to me for why my party of 6 couldn't have another square inch of soap after I'd been staying with them for 5 nights. I'm not sure they had the worst attitude I've ever experienced, because I felt no real disdain, just a general lack of caring and the presence of some weird system I couldn't grasp in English. People say that Americans are spoiled by the concept of \"customer service.\" The lack of basic hotel amenities combined with a a staff that was there only 6 hours a day made my stay difficult and eventually grating. NOT TO MENTION that we were booked and CHARGED for 4 ROOMS via Hotels.com and given one one-bedroom condo. The explanation being: \"It features 4-5 beds.\" Sure, except that we BOOKED four of those. Let's just say, unless you don't care about getting what you pay for, PLEASE stay somewhere else. Oh, and how could there be so many bugs? Where did you find a spider that large to put in my room? And, can you really not afford to have any coffee in the lobby in the morning? I guess it doesn't matter since the lobby will be closed anyway. Good lord I could go on for hours. I've got to go back to work. Thanks for the memories, Pierre et Vacances!

Odd \"resort\" in the middle of nowhere

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while touring the D Day sites. We booked late and couldn't stay in Bayeux so ended up here. It is what I would consider European in terms of small living quarters, shower etc. if you are seeking an American style hotel this is not for you. Also it is more of a resort for french families who come and stay for a week or longer. It is not really a night or two \"hotel\" that most Americans seek. There were two narrow twin beds in the upstairs bedroom up a narrow stairwell. We elected to sleep on the pull out sofa on the main floor so that we did not have to navigate the stairs at night.

It is located in the middle of what is essentially a farm. Thus it is very quiet and surrounded by lots of green grass. You can even hear the local cows mooing. It has a pool but we did not use it. There is no food or drink available not even vending machines so plan ahead and bring anything you need with you.

Normandy Visit

This is not a hotel in the sense as I know it but it is a resort complex with multiple townhouses. It is about 2 kilometers from any town and they have no food service on property. Staff is very friendly but don't do anything for you. You have to pay for internet and it is not cheap. It is a great place if you want to drive there and see Normandy but for a visitor on foot this is a very inconvenient place to stay.

Great location - disappointing service

The houses are quaint and very French but I was expecting more services to be provided. Thank goodness we agreed to the upgrade to the deluxe houses or we would have had to rent towels, linens, etc. The in-unit washer/dryer was well worth it, though. Be prepared to provide all basics including washing up necessities.

We had higher expectations

Great location and concept but poorly executed. Condition of unit was fair due to poor maintenance and cleaning. Our first unit was infested by ants and based on the larve they have been there for a long while. Second unit had similar concerns, but spiders instead of ants. Condition was similar to first unit. Ala carte menu for services. Expect to pay up for everything normally expected. Big push at desk to upgrade unit.

Not a Hotel

This is not a hotel, small rooms with a dangerous stairs with winding stairs at top and bottom and also very narrow. Shower upstairs and toilet downstairs. There is no daily cleaning so you are just renting the room with nothing else. Have to clean yourself. Apart from a pool there are few facilities on site. Port-en Bessin is a long walk 20 to 25 minutes if you want to eat out. The nearest supermarket is in Bayeux which is a 10 minute car journey. There is a 8 to 8 in Port en Bessin like a 7-eleven staff there very nice. Recepection is closed in the afternoon so if you arrive you will have to wait til it opens. Any self catering we have stayed in before had room cleaned daily. This is not a relaxing place to stay. Dont know how it could be a 4 star. They are also selling each house if they had better service they may have a chance.

Not a Hotel!

I felt like we were staying at a motel instead of a hotel. The room had a very displeasing odor that required me to go out just to buy candles to mask it. Walking into the room, we were immediately met with a set of bunk beds, which I did not like having right next to the entrance. The pull out couches and bunk beds were not comfortable and the cushions on the couch were disgusting. The only good thing about this place was the one and only staff person that was there. She was informative and helpful. I do not recall what our other choices were when we were making reservations, but I would never stay there again, much less recommend it to fellow travelers. It was in the middle of nowhere and certainly not worth the drive.

Normandy visit

Overall, stay was poor. Bathroom upstairs was only a shower, no toilet. Toilet alone was downstairs, no shower, and it smelled of urine. The pullout couch in the living area was comfortable, but unfortunately, the linens also smelled of urine. You have to pay for the internet, which is really slow (almost unusable). The internet went off one day and I could never get back on. Of course, the front desk could not help with this because it was provided through a third party which did not speak English and could not help me. The hotel grounds are beautiful with the surrounding gold course, but it is far from anything else. I would suggest staying in the city of Bayeux if you are there to visit Normandy.

Great idea & location but apartments not great

Lovely location, beautiful outdoor and indoor pools. Really friendly staff in reception. However, the apartments are really small, and from the outside look like prison camps. They are very basic inside, and ours was also a little smelly. It was not filthy but a bit grubby in places, i.e. the fridge had a horrible smell when you opened the door, marks on the walls, and the floors were a little sticky as if they had not been washed properly.The beds were comfortable although small, and the bedding was very clean. We would not stay here again, which is a shame as its a great idea and a lovely place

Quiet and efficient. Relaxed and family friendly.

House orginally allocated on arrival was not ready when we arrived we waited an hour at local restaurant and returned and still not ready. it was past six at night and we had shopped before arrival as it was self catering. we explained we had two small hungry children and to be fair they gave us a different house in a better location straight away. Pools are great including cleanliness and only a minute to walk to from our house garden. Staff mostly helpful. House well stocked, bed could of been more comfortable but nice size. Wifi we purchased as an extra did not work. Bathroom very very small but water always hot and pressure good. Few Brits here, many French families. Young families with children but all very well behaved and well mannered. No drinks and food at pool so you spend good family time at your house at lunch time eating together.

Expect a short term stay facility !

We think it was a good option for a large family likes ours (2 adults + 3 Kids). You get a small two floor town house with a fully equipped kitchen. We actually missed bringing more food with us to leverage the in-room facility as you will find no restaurant. This is where you begin finding out this is much more of a short term stay location than a hotel. No towels in your room & you'll find the blankets so that you can set your bed by yourself. No gym or spa. You do find a basic pool (in and outdoor) and a small sauna.

Great family hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights on our family of 2 adults & 2 kids. We liked the location for visiting D-Day sites with our car. The 2 bedroom house was great for our family after several small hotel rooms. We enjoyed using the pool and having a kitchen. There was a grocery store a short drive away. Because this was just a short stop for us on our two week France & Germany trip we did not have extras like pool towels or supplies for dishwashing that we needed and we had to pay extra for bath towels (6E/pp)

Not impressed. rooms were clean. furnishings were as basic as you can get. no sheets in our room on arrival, had to go and get them ourselves. no towels provided. Expedia rates said extra towels provided at a charge, but it cost €6 for one towel, and none were provided. with 5 people and kids who wanted to swim this was ridiculous.

Not a hotel

This place is more like renting a condo. You make the bed with sheets provided. You \"rent\" a towel for 6 euro ($8). Pool closed at 7 pm. Hot water only in the mornings...ours was on some kind of timer and couldn't take a shower after swimming. There was a fireplace, but a small bundle of wood was 18 Euro ($25). It is in a good location relative to the D day invasion sites. Out from town, so you have some space around you. Pretty setting on a golf course.

Pretty good...not what we expected

It's in a good location to visit all of the Normandy sites. However, it isn't near a town so stores, restaurants etc. are a drive away. The units are small and not extremely comfortable, but okay. Units didn't come with towels either, which wasn't mentioned in the hotels.com information. All in all, it was pretty good, but we probably wouldn't go back there.

It was Okay

We went with the intention of visiting Omaha Beach and taking the train to Paris, which we did. Omaha Beach was close and Utah is not much further. There an American cemetery close to the beach which was neat to visit. It is a 2 hour train ride from Bayeux to Paris. Parking at the Bayeux train station is free for the first 24 hours.

We had to make our own beds and clean the kitchen before we checked out, maybe that's how they do it in France, I just didn't know.

No towels, no internet, fee for toilet paper

The hotel does not provide any towels free of charge. You must rent the towels. I suggest you bring your own. We paid for 3 days of high speed internet and received about 4 hours of low speed internet. The internet is provided by another company. When it does not work, the hotel workers do not care and will not call the internet company on the behalf of patrons. Water heater only runs once per day. When you use of the hot water, you have to wait until the next day for more. Not conveniet for families with young children and must wash clothes. We stayed for a week. The hotel would not provide us any additional toelet paper other than the two rolls provided upon check-in. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Great location just bring your own towels

Five people were comfortable in the two bedroom apartment. It was especially nice to have two bathrooms. The location was close to all Normandy beaches and Port en Bessin was a lovely little town. We had the best pizza there out of a truck on the street. Golfers would especially love close golf course. Pools looked nice but we didn't have time to swim. Only drawback was they charged for towels and dish detergent to wash dishes. So bring your own towels and dish soap, otherwise we had no complaints.

Need more information.

I wasn't aware that this was like renting a condo than a resort style hotel. We arrived around 6:30pm, not knowing they closed guest services at 7:00pm. We were not informed that we had to pay extra for towels and had to get them at the front desk. By the time we got of our room, the front desk was closed - no towels!!! Found out towels were 6 euros each!!! They also were not knowledgeable of the area restaurants and made no mention of checkout time and we were leaving early - 7:30. They would not be there until 8:30. Later they sent us a text wanting us to pay a 4 euro tax.

We had booked a small house (self catering). It was very small but OK for us (but there was only three in our group and the house is supposed to sleep 4-5 people). It was clean and adequately equipped but no towels were provided (we had to hire some from reception) and there were no dishwasher tablets/washing up liquid, tea towels, etc. This seems rather mean. It would have been no problem if this was made clear when making the booking and then one could bring such things.
The site is very tidy and when we were there it was very quiet. We would stay there again (now we know to equip ourselves with our own washing up brush!).

Nice place but BEWARE!

The townhouses making this resort are located on a golf course in close proximity to all the major sites of the D-Day landings. The rooms were clean and the surroundings very pleasant. However, if you are planning a stay at the Pierre & Vacances make sure that you consult the staff before hand. The townhouses are not your typical hotel. They come equipped with a kitchenette and a fire place but none of the essentials are provided, and that includes towels! Those essentials will be provided but at a substantial extra fee (EUR 6.00 per towel, EUR 18.00 for firewood, EUR 10.00 for kitchen items, etc.) Furthermore be prepared to take cold showers in the evening as the water heater only works during the night (if, of course, like us, you shower in the morning). BEWARE!

We enjoyed one of the small apartments for three nights. It was attractively furnished and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The location was good for accessing the D-day beaches and memorials and Bayeux.
