The staff were very helpful and kind. The room was very small and there is no elevator. The desk attendant did show us to our room and did volunteer to carry our suitcase up the staircase. Luckily I was traveling with my husband, so he did the heavy lifting. Believe them when they say the restaurants nearby are only open for a short time for dinner. Most stop taking new customers after 8:00. And there are no other dining option nearby. Overall the hotel was nice and is in a great location to explore the historic beaches nearby.

This was a dream come true. When we drove up we were transported to an earlier time in history. We were looking for the complete French country experience with all the comforts of a modern hotel. This exceeded our expectations. The rooms were lovely and when I opened my window in the morning, there were sheep grazing right outside. It was a very short walk to Gold Beach and about a 10 minute drive to Bayeux where we caught our tour. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was delish. After we walked back from dinner we would sit in the bar for a last glass of wine before bed. We just loved it.

Quaint, quiet Inn

The hotel was just outside Caen in a quiet little village. The drive to Caen for our tours was lovely and scenic. There were several restaurants and shops within walking distance. The rooms are simple but spacious and have large baths with great showers and it appears that they were recently renovated.
While we did not have breakfast, there is a bright breakfast room with a lovely spread. There is also a small sitting room where you can enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine.
The staff was quite friendly and helpful.

A very nice hotel, close to the beach and town centre. The swimming pool and sunbeds are well kept. Our room, on the third floor, was comfortable but a little on the small side. It was really only suitable for a short stay. Breakfast was plentiful but, at 18 euros was overpriced. The reception staff were all friendly and helpful, and spoke good English.

Adequate room, rather small with small double bed. Needs modernisation. Breakfast fairly good, but not enough fruit. Scrambled eggs very poor taste, unsure if made from fresh eggs. Jams and coffee machine not regularly refilled by serving staff. Location good and friendly reception.

My sisters and I had the absolute best time staying here on our girls trip! The staff was so welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean, and our view was amazing! Easy, beautiful walk to the downtown area. This was one of our favorite stops. Can’t say enough good things about the entire experience!

Top notch service. Well appointed, modern, and immaculate rooms. The room was so nice that I felt bad messing up the sheets to go to bed. The site was walking distance to the beach.

Site itself was stunning. Even though it was not beach front, the grounds and greenery were pristine even off season.

I enjoyed the fact that it was a much smaller hotel and had lots of refinement and personality without seeming stuffy.

The service staff was stellar who showed us our room and offered to help with our bags.

Even though our receptionist didn’t speak English fluently. She tried her very best and it was much much better than my failed and laughable attempts in French. Even then she remained unflustered, professional and friendly. The hotel does have a sign up front that states they speak English but I feel I should at least try to blend in with the culture.

This is not a big chain hotel with cookie-cutter amenities and sterile facilities. It presents as a family run, quaint, quiet and comfortable place to stay while exploring Normandy. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. The facility is not brand new, but is well-maintained. I would and will stay here again.

Room spacious and shower was lovely. Room fridge was appreciated and used. Cold water in room was a nice touch and enjoyed. The on site bar was well stocked with a great variety of top shelf options at reasonable prices. Front desk gave excellent advice for restaurants and even called ahead for reservation. A pleasant stay with super friendly and attentive staff eager to make arrangements for special requests. It’s within walking distance of town (10 minutes at most) but secluded from tourist traffic. The only drawback is the stairs are narrow and winding, which made it challenging to carry our suitcases up two levels (there is no lift). Of course, the staff offered to do it for us, but we declined. The room had a great view of the town and ocean, and was clean and relaxing. Even got to enjoy the pool despite it being a cool, windy and cloudy day. The water was heated, but not too heated, and was able to get a decent swimming workout in, even though the smaller size made for frequent turns. Overall, I would stay here again

To start off. The gentleman who we checked in was kind and helpful. It was so confusing to find the reception. We go to the correct hotel and the restaurant server (female 7pm) basically kicked us out and was no help. We called the number to the hotel and the nice gentleman helped direct us to the reception area, which was at the Pollard hotel. See why we were confused? We now have the code to the door to enter. The same rude females waitress tells us we can not be served. We did NOT want a meal we wanted to find our room. She was so rude: Our room was lively up until 5am when there was on going noise. Plates and carts being towed across cobblestone and conversations from the ground level. No sleep after 5am. I would not stay at this hotel or on Saint Micele again

Nice location. Nice hotel rooms are slightly small. Also no air-conditioning. We had a hot week. Issue with Expedia trying to adjust the before cancellation date. Expedia says they couldn't do it because the HOTEL had to do it emailed HOTEL. They said they couldn't do it because Expedia had to do it so had big issue at the front desk changing from three nights to two nights they wouldn't relent at first, then they finally came in, but will have to check our bill at the end of our trip

Great stay for 4 nights in Normandy after having arrived on the ferry from Portsmouth. Hotel was ideally located for Arromanches, a nice seaside town famous for being the centre of the D-Day landings by the British on Sword beach and the location of the Mulberry B harbour which still dominates the sea horizon. The hotel was just a five-minute walk into the centre of town and the beach. Rooms were clean and modern, but a bit warm as there was no air conditioning – the hotel gave us a tower fan. Breakfast was good, but there was no room service or evening meals available – which was not a problem as there are plenty of restaurants in Arromanches. The hotel staff were very helpful during our stay, helping with car hire and a tour we booked. Would return based on the location and friendliness of the staff.

Very friendly staff; spotlessly clean room; perfect location for exploring the D Day beaches, etc.

Whilst there isn't a restaurant at the hotel, they provide a very good breakfast which sets you up for the day.

It's a five/ten minute stroll into the town, which has planty of restaurants and a great bar/pub (the Mary Celeste).

Lovely boutique hotel at the top of the small town of Arromanches. My favorite spot was the living room bar at night. Just wine, beer and some spirits but with collections of armchairs and board games, it felt like home. Just wonderful. Highly recommend for a simple gown feel with great taste.

Rooms were perfect. Comfortable beds, very stylish, updated and modern ( better than expected). Staff were friendly, professional knowledgable of area attractions. Their lounge was the perfect cozy spot to share a bottle of Bordeaux amongst friends and recap the day. Breakfast -delicious. I will definitely share this location w/friends who visit the region. We were on a 16 day European road trip and stayed here after seeing the DDay beaches. It was one of the best hotels I’ve ever been on, US and abroad. We got there very early in the morning from Paris. They had plenty of parking and held our bags until check in. When we came back to check in they had already put our stuff in the room! Every staff member we spoke to was incredibly kind and welcoming. The room was very very clean and spacious. I didn’t hear any outside noise either. Towel warmer was nice too! Less than a 10 min walk to Gold Beach. I highly recommend staying here.

DISAPPOINTED!!!

Upon arrival we saw the car park was full so we tried to drive around to the front of the hotel to park. However we were quickly greeted by what appeared to be the owner, who came accross very passive aggressive and was clearly annoyed we had driven down to the front of the hotel. The pictures on hotels.com show the hotel looking glorious and immaculate but when we arrived the overall presentation of the hotel and grounds were shabby, untidy and unkept. The reception area was a conservatory at the side of the hotel. When were then shown to our room which to our disappointment was not located directly within the château itself, as we assumed it would be due to the way the hotel was advertised on the internet. There rooms are actually located at the rear in a purpose build block and didnt give us the chateau experience we expected. When we entered our room it smelt badly of damp. We had a small patio off the bedroom which was also poorly kept with weeds coming through the concrete. Later than evening we returned to the reception area to take a few photos but the hotel owner was clearly very irrigated by our presence and asked us to move to a different area. We didn't feel welcome. We felt we were in the way so returned to our room. Overall we were very disappointed in the hotel stay and owners attitude. It was very overpriced and didnt give us the château experience that it was advertised to be.
