An absolute gem situated very closely to Hay. The Agents House is the perfect getaway if you want a relaxing stay with an opportunity to adventure nearby.

A gem of a B&B

An overnight dtay for the Hay festival.
The first time i have stayed at a B&B in over 40years.
OML how wonderful my stay was, fabulous hosts Fiona and James plus the gorgeous dogs'! Super room, very comfortable and everything one could wish for. Such attention to detail. The breakfast which was a 'full English' was the best breakfast i have had in a very long time, with all either home made or locally sourced. Fiona's granola with yoghurt and berries so very tasty. A beautiful home. All superb. I will return...

Arrived in the evening with a lovely warm welcome. Room was a really good size and beautifully furnished right down to the quality, choice and presentation of the in room tea/coffee. Free Wi-Fi and USB charging points by bed was appreciated.

Good on street free parking. Lovely hosts, glass of wine on arrival. Lovely breakfast. Good pub 1min away for evening meal/drinks. Lovely garden/balcony to sit on to enjoy the weather and view over the countryside. Highly recommend

The Pawfect Staycation

Saying in the Annex was one of the best staycations we’ve ever had. Our hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming and our breakfast was top notch. We absolutely loved Pablo Eskabark and his little sister as our breakfast pals. Great location, beautiful annex. 10/10 would recommend!

Well worth a visit!

We just spent 2 nights in this beautiful, atmospheric accommodation, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The owners are lovely, so friendly and extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Additionally the breakfasts were delicious with plenty of variety, something for everyone.

In sum, the whole experience was superb.

Wonderful experience

Our stay at the Agent's House was one of the highlights of our trip. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. But what really set the stay apart were the hosts, Fiona and James. They were warm and friendly, and the perfect balance of not being intrusive, yet available for anything we might need. For example, we were lucky with beautiful weather and they offered us a drink on the balcony upstairs. I commented on how bright it was and a minute later, James appeared with a wide-brimmed hat for me to shield my eyes. The breakfast was wonderful and prepared to order for us. We truly felt pampered.

We had a lovely one night stay at The Agents House, in a quiet, comfy large room that overlooks fields and the river. Our hosts couldn’t have been more attentive without being overbearing. We sat on the balcony watching the local wildlife and listening to the birds before taking lovely hot showers and getting into a comfy warm bed. The room and facilities were all top notch with tea and coffee in the room along with a Smart TV. We were treated to cameos from Chutney and Pickles the resident cats, and the home brew was a hit with my husband. Breakfast was tasty with lots of options, with quality items that were locally sourced. We would absolutely recommend a stay here if you’re in the area, and we wouldn’t hesitate to re book here if we find ourselves in the area again.

Comfortable clean room. Very comfortable bed. Good location. Owners on site and very welcoming.
Breakfast is included- but it is prepared by the guests themselves. There was not an option to opt out of this apart from declining the food- so was part of the price.
No outside seating area, but the advertisement for the property indicates there is, which was a disappointment as we fortunately had lovely weather.
A good location and beautiful room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable with great facilities inside the kitchen cupboard. The food was very good quality. On arrival we had an excellent introduction by Steve who told us about the history of the buildings and it was nice to see that much of the history has been retained. Nothing was too much trouble for Alison and Steve and they came in every day to spruce the room up as well. Although it’s in a very quiet location, it’s only a 100yards away from the local pub, which was great and had nice food. It’s located close to Brecon and the Black mountains for some excellent walks, with easy access to Hay on wire. It’s only a twenty minute drive to Hereford as well. We would definitely stay again. We had a fantastic time. Thank you Alison and Steve.

Alison and Steven were great hosts. The spacious accommodation was fitted out to a fabulous standard, with all requirements well catered for and with many interesting and useful touches. The bed was large and very comfortable. The locally sourced items provided for breakfast were top quality and very tasty. Altogether we had a great relaxing stay.

Lovely 3 night stay

We enjoyed a three night stay at The Agents House and loved every minute. Great location, the accommodation was spacious, clean and full of character and the hosts are lovely and helpful too. Recommend kayaking from Hay on Wye and The Blue Boar in Hay for dinner. Highly recommend this B&B it was just perfect!

We had a lovely three night stay in The Agent's Office in mid-January, and were lucky enough to have sun. The room is spacious, and during the day the sun shone through the window making the whole place bright and cheerful. The bed was very comfortable, and there are nice arm chairs and a small breakfast table (watch your knees) and chairs as well. I'm old enough to remember when showers in the UK could be a little anemic; not so with this one. The owners have done the place up really nicely with modern conveniences like a shaver outlet that accepts both US and European plugs. We didn't get to meet Alison, but Steve made sure all our needs were met, and I appreciated that he was willing to let us put a large volume of waste paperwork in the recycling bin.

We were provided with prodigious amounts of breakfast food, enough to make a light lunch on one of the days as well. The cooker worked really well, and it was convenient to be able to prepare breakfast on our own schedule. I like that Steve and Alison source their breakfast selections locally.

We unfortunately were traveling largely on business this trip and didn't get to do any local walks, but there look to be a number or nearby paths. There are maps and an array of leaflets provided. There's not much in Whitney on Wye, but Hay on Wye is very close and has some very nice places to eat. I had perhaps the best lamb I've ever eaten at the Old Black Lion in Hay. Highly recommend a stay at The Agent's House!!

Really enjoyable stay in the Agent’s office

Really enjoyable stay at the Agent’s house in the Agent’s office. Superb large room full of history and our very friendly hosts Alison and Steve
were more than happy to advise us about the locality and the history of the Agent’s house and the office on our arrival and departure.

The concept of having quality provisions provided (pre-order your choice) and being able to cook them yourself in a kitchen in a cupboard when you wished worked very well for us.

The Agent’s house is close to the toll bridge across the Wye which is worth going over to get to Hay-on-Wye, if only for the experience.

We will be sure to stay again at the Agent’s house when in that area.
