We didn’t really have contact with any staff during our stay. We had pre paid and you called a phone number to check in. We needed more towels but did not have a ready way to contact staff. The radiator in our room did not work. We believed breakfast was included as did some other guests only to find out that was not the case.
On a positive note it was clean and guests could use the kitchen if they wanted to.

Nous avons passé une très bonne nuit au sein de la guesthouse. Les chambres et salle de bain sont moderne. Cependant, nous n’avons jamais rencontré l’hôte et nous avons du l’appeler via un téléphone présent dans le gîte afin qu’il nous donne le numéro de notre chambre. De même nous ne l’avons pas trouvé au check-out.
Nous avons trouvé ça un peu étrange.

I don’t know if it’s the culture problem or what, I really don’t like they requested people to take off shoes to enter the house. The floor was not that clean and I didn’t feel comfortable with no shoes on my feet! Flies everywhere, in the kitchen, bathroom and my room! Yes, there’s kitchen but you can only use from 5 to 8 pm! Not breakfast time because they made to order breakfast ! No daily cleaning! Area is nice and peaceful! Also when you enter you need to call them to get your room, no on site person. if you don’t speak English or Icelandic, or other European languages, that may be a problem.

This is a lovely guesthouse about 10 minutes off of the main road. This meant it was a quiet location, which was actually surrounded by farms and farm animals. It was a beautiful location! We had a small room with a private bath, but there was a shared bath across the hall that was clearly marked that it was only for two rooms to use. We spent some time in the evening chatting with other guests which was fun. We did not stay for breakfast, but it looked like a nice spread and the breakfast room was lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

A very clean and nicely decorated room / property in a beautiful area. We arrived on the first day in Iceland after sightseeing a few places instead of staying in the Reykjavik area.

The location was nice! Close to a few towns and the ferry for the Westman Islands and the waterfalls! The rooms were clean as well as all the common areas! This was the first time at a guesthouse so wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a nice stay!

It is a lovely stay! Lovely rooms, modern bath. Friendly people and I saw how delicious the breakfast looked like - unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy it as we had to leave early.
And: they had sheep and Iceland ponies.
Would come back anytime.

Easy check in (there isn't a front desk per-se, there's a phone in the front hallway and you just dial up the proprietor to let them know you arrived). Very clean rooms and common areas. There is an option breakfast available (for a fee), but they also have a full kitchen and allow guests to bring, store, and prepare their own food.

We stayed here two nights. We had a shared bathroom which, we would have preferred our own. There were some rooms that did have their own bathroom, I guess we didn’t book that kind. But the bathroom was big and clean and so were the rooms. Great family working here. Loved the sheep coming up to the back porch.

Wow! This guest house was finely appointed. Very attractive. Our room had a private bath and shower. The kitchen area was absolutely beautiful. The only downside: If you didn't order breakfast from the host, you couldn't use the kitchen for breakfast preparation. That was not a showstopper for us. There is a separate sitting room/study off of the kitchen which was perfect for dining and computer work. We were amazed at the interior design of the guest house. It was spectacular! Good vibes all around. We loved it! We also appreciated the home's proximity to the town of Hvolsvöllur. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

There was no one present at the property to ensure that the rules were adhered to. The visitors in room number 2 were exceedingly noisy during the late hours, which rendered me incapable of falling asleep. Additionally, the house phone rang multiple times, and it was unclear who was responsible for answering.

The kitchen cannot be used in the AM hours because they sell you breakfast.

Cute guest house in the middle of nowhere

A cute little guesthouse in a rural area. I was able to check in via quick phone call and check out just by leaving the key behind as I left. I stayed in room #1. My room was super tiny but adequate, and the ensuite bathroom was functional. Plenty of outlets to charge my stuff. Everything was clean. The location is so rural that I don't know why you'd stay more than one night however. Probably a good stop for your first/last night on the ring road.

The worst part: if you book via Hotels . Com (where you're reading this right now!) you CANNOT use the kitchen in the morning and you're not entitled to the continental breakfast. The nearest restaurant/bakery is 30 minutes away. So don't eat I guess, or pack some granola bars or something for breakfast. If you really want that breakfast then you have to track down the actual website and book directly

Staff was very flexible regarding our check in, as we were coming in late from the Vestmann Island ferry and would miss the check in time. Bathroom and shower were very nice, however the bed was pretty uncomfortable and our backs were sore the next day. We did not have breakfast in the morning, but from what we saw, it looked to be a nice selection of foods.

Fantastic stay. The shared kitchen was the best I'd ever experienced with sharp knives, good quality pots and pans and spices that guests could use. Breakfast was very generous with a wide range of food on offer. Place was clean, easy to find and bathroom was spacious. Highly recommend!!

Lindartún Guesthouse was perfect in every way! We stayed two nights and enjoyed the many wonderful things to see and do in the area. The guesthouse was in a very rural area and the proprietor (Kristin) did every thing possible to make it feel like home, including a delicious breakfast with many choices and use of a large kitchen and refrigerator to store our food.

Lovely guest house with freindlly owners

My 3 night stay here was superb. The area is quite rural (10 mins down a tarmac road off the main 1 road) and it is amongst lovely flat farmland. It's only 15 mins away from the supermarket/petrol facilities in the little town of Hvolsvollur. It was a great location for day trips in the area, I did the golden circle on one day, the waterfalls/glacier/beaches/Vik the next and finally drove the 3.5 hours to the glacier lagoon at Jokulsarlon. The guest house is beautifully decorated and modern inside.
My single room was small but cosy and warm and the bathroom was really nice. The great kitchen was available for use in the evenings 6-9.30pm to prepare your own meals and is fully equipped with microwave/oven/hob etc. Although the kitchen could get busy it did feel very relaxed and it was nice to chat with other guests. Breakfast was \"help yourself\" to a selection of cereals, toast, meats, cheeses, fruit and there was a batter mix to pour into the waffle maker - amazing!

Great stay!

We had a great stay at the B&B. Everything was very clean. We had booked a room with a shared bath, but it wasn't a problem. The walls, however, were a bit thin, you could hear conversations and doors closing. Breakfast was great, especially the waffle maker.

Fantastic Place to Stay

The Lindartun Guesthouse was a very nice place to stay at. It's a little remote which we liked, but only a 10min drive to a little village with restaurants. The room was very nice and clean, just as shown in the picture when we booked, all quite new and decorated with a lovely touch. Check-in was easy, everyone was friendly and the breakfast offered a great choice of breads, cold meats, cheese, some fish, veggies, fruit, various cereals, nuts and waffles. I would certainly come back to this place!

The guesthouse was newly remodeled and the room was really cute and cosy. The bathroom was very clean. The kitchen had everything that we can find at home and we were allowed to use them so that was convinient. Breakfast was included and they provide a good variety of foods. We loved our stay there!

The nicest guesthouse of our stay!

The guesthouse is a few km from the route 1, but so worth the detour. The room was big and nicely decorated, plus we had access to the kitchen and dining room in the evening. The surrounding farms have plenty of horses and it is just sooo calm there 😊

I would stay here again without a second thought. I stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are updated, cute and very clean. The hostess is awesome. She was very friendly and super helpful. The guest house is located in south Iceland which was perfect as we were driving eastward. The breakfast was simple but delicious. The views were beautiful. There are also horses, sheep and dogs on the property which gave it a quaint appeal. The guesthouse is in a very small town that consists of two restaurant, liquor store, gas station and grocery store.

The setting was beautiful. Our room felt cramped for 3 people, not enough room to open a large suitcase fully without moving it to the middle of the space. Was not reminded of the free breakfast till our last day ( my fault I guess but when asked about breakfast cost was told 1800isk) earlier. Good check in process. Bathroom was large and clean. Breakfast was great ( but missed 2 days due to miscommunication). Friendly staff and nice to see lambs and horses on the farm.

Wished we could have stayed longer!

They were very accommodating when we had to arrive a bit later than expected. The room was clean, quiet, and cozy. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The farm setting, with its views of nearby mountains and volcanoes, was beautiful. We couldn't have been happier with our choice!

A nice short drive off the main route brought us to this quiet little stay where we were immediately greeted by a pussycat and some cute little baby lambs. The entire place was super clean and the room looked brand new. When closing your room door, everything was very quiet despite any activity that may have been going on in the rest of the house. The communication for our late night check-in was very good. Don’t let the shared bathroom scare you. There were other guests staying here and we never had to fight or rush for bathroom/shower time. Breakfast was excellent with a nice view of the mountains. Host was quiet but very kind. If the weather was better, I imagine this would be a nice property to walk around.

The location is great to explore the south Very nice selection for breakfast and there is access to the kitchen all day. They are a farm so the horses, lambs and dog added to the atmosphere with the mountains and glacier in on the horizon. Friendly staff and a comfortable place.

A Hidden Gem

A little difficult to find but well worth the effort. Excellent staff, clean room and great bathroom facilities. Every breakfast was above average. Located a short distance from the Lava Center and Art Cafe. Would stay there again. Take 255 off of Route 1 and the guesthouse is 9km down the road on the left. There is no sign identifying it as a guesthouse. The small road sign reads “Lindartun”.

Favorite place I’ve stayed so far while in Iceland! Beautiful home and rooms, amazing breakfast, friendly hosts. Great location for making a day trip to Vik and back. Loved petting the horses and feeding the lambs.
