Not sure who is in charge of Entertainment but definitely need help. Also there was no music at any of the bars, who does that. The lounge bar should have at least a digital juke box with a variety of music. Maybe next time I'll take my own music 🎶 👎

Clean room, if you book an ocean view make sure u are facing ocean view and not sided. Great and friendly staff. Great food especially the french and Italian ones. Nice shows every night at the theatre. Pool okay but ocean was great! Overall I loved it

This resort is the one & only resort I’ve reviewed on here just because I feel like it deserves the hype! Staff was always so wonderful, kind, & helpful. The whole resort is STUNNING & so clean. We did the Elite club which was worth it to us for the private pool & cabana. The drinks were TOP NOTCH. By far the best inclusive resort I’ve been to!

I just want to warn everyone: do not stay at Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan. It was a terrible experience and one of the worst hotels I’ve ever been to. Don’t trust the reviews — it shows a 9.2 rating, but it’s not accurate at all. The staff was unprofessional, and the food quality was very poor.

We have been decades long Moon Palace loyal. This time we decided to try something different mostly led by my desire to find crystal blue waters which MP has never had. RIU KUKULKAN did not disappoint!! RIU K. won in most areas hands down. First, the ocean is amazing and there are many areas to enjoy it from. Even if you’d rather stay poolside you can still see the amazing ocean. The food at the restaurants is comparable to MP but RIU still wins here. A few areas that I wish/hope RIU K. can improve to fully squash MP in my mind…..and this is a big one…..ENTERTAINMENT. RIU has several nights during the week where there is ZERO entertainment because their entertainment team leaves to go to the bigger RIU hotels for PINK PARTIES, JUNGLE PARTIES, NEON PARTIES etc. Unfortunately, due to these parties it leaves a large amount of people at RIU K. with literally zero unless you call a musician in one of the restaurants entertainment. I feel like traveling to another hotel for a wild party mainly for likely under 35-40 year olds leaves out a big population still at the hotel with nothing to do. Glad I could mirror my phone on the tv to at least watch a movie. The 2-3 shows they did have at RIU K. were good but sadly we did miss seeing the Michael Jackson show and Popstar show like at MP. Regardless, I feel like it’s not a hard thing to do to have entertainment even for the people left behind. MP also wins on the beach towel situation. RIU is strict at 1. MP has no limit.

ROOM: I had an ocean view junior suite on the fifth floor. It was spacious. This area of the resort can be loud in the evening (it's right by the performance area), but events end around 23:00. My friends in the other side didn't hear the loud music, so request for that area if you're an early sleeper. Housekeeping is on-point. There's no bubble bath for the tub avail in the room.
FOOD/DRINKS: I was pleased with the buffet choices. Specialty restaurants were also very good. Service was fantastic. Lounge Bar was quiet, but nice bartenders. Coffee shop pastries were stale, coffee wasn't bad.
GYM & SPA: Gym felt small & can get busy in the morning, but it's ample for what you need in a vacation. No barbells. Spa was clean, & staff was nice & attentive. You can book a time to use the indoor heated pool & the steam room for no fee. The indoor heated pool wasn't warm enough, but no biggie. I do wish they had a jacuzzi. I booked a pedicure with scrub & foot massage. The staff are very sweet but I wouldn't recommend the service if you want a stellar massage. The pedicure hurt a bit.

Overall staff was very friendly just not greatly informative. Outdoor pools and beach area was clean with plenty of seating. The buffet, Mexican and steak restaurants have fresh great food. Just be warned the steak restaurant usually has a few minute wait for a table. The pool area lacks entertainment on the Tuesday we were there. They are slacking on stocking the room refrigerator. Overall I had much higher expectations. I would not recommend for a couples trip, only with a group of friends.

Solo travelled to Mexico Cancun. Had the most lovely and relaxing vacation staying at hotel Riu Kukulkán. Everything was well organized from flight to airport transfer to the resort and vice versa when my stay ended. Food was great especially their buffet. There was always a table available for you to be seated no matter how late you came down. Felt safe and would absolutely stay at this resort again.

The food is mostly average with some above average. Nothing was bad but putting leftovers out from the night before was a bit concerning. Especially sushi. The lady at the Asian restaurant that seated us told us we could order 4 things to share and then we have to ask for more. When we asked for one more thing, she said, “you want MORE?!?” It was really awkward so we just left. (Two of the items we ordered were 3-4 bites.) When we went to get dessert at the buffet and went to leave, they made us cram our dessert into a cup like you drink out of at the pool. The manager was called over to do this stopping my husband like he was stealing something. It was awkward.
The staff overall was excellent. We were in room 315 and our cleaning lady was excellent. I wish I knew her name. Alma and Johnny at the pool were awesome. They made our trip much better and were very nice. The waiter outside was awesome too. The lady cleaning floors in the lobby all day needs a big raise. She was amazing. They really need to try to remove seaweed off the beach. The lifeguards were awesome tho. They saved a bunch of people while we were there.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The shows were good except ABBA. we didn’t do any big parties. We might go back to a Rui resort in the future. It was nice.

Security team was top notch when there was a couple who were fighting. They intervened immediately since they were disturbing other who are sleeping. No basketball court nothing much to do in the area. Was boring and nothing to do much. Food was great. Staff are courteous and friendly. Blankets are too thin.

The room service was unsatisfactory, I had to request four times for me to have club soda in my room, my room did not get cleaned up till in the afternoon 3 o’clock, there was barely any alcohol in the room, and also transportation service that you had it was very bad. I had a hard time when I got to the airport and also when I was gonna leave again, they forgot to cancel my previous appointment that I had for a pick up and I got very frantic overall, the services you have it wasn’t my satisfactory

Beautiful beach, excellent staff and a beautiful hotel. On the smaller size compared to some of the other Riu’s, but also more intimate. Our room was clean, modern and had a nice view of the ocean. I would say all the rooms likely offer a great view of the ocean. The food selection and quality were also impressive. For those that do come here, don’t forget to tip the help. My first time at this Riu property. As per usual, the place is very clean and well maintained. Great service by all the staff. I thought the food at this Riu was especially well prepared and beautifully presented. My only complaint is that the pools are on the small side, and one of the two pools is used for volleyball, so really only one pool available for swimming. I also don't like how loud and obnoxious the music is by the pools. Other than that, great value at every Riu resort I've stayed at

Property endorses the ripping of off taxi to the airport. Bellman called a taxi at stated price of $25 then the taxi scammed me by charging 5x the amount on my credit card. A common scam apparently in Cancun. I called to log a complain and was dismissed.

The pools are so beautiful. They are constantly cleaning the property. The food is outstanding. All the restaurants are incredible. The food is top shelf like big city dining. Rooms are so comfortable, spacious. Beds are comfy. Staff are so friendly and willing to do anything to make your stay more comfortable. The buffet Has everything you need or want. But just a tip enjoy all the restaurants. Something different every night.

This was a beautiful resort! All the property and rooms were kept very clean. The landscape and pools are all beautiful with a great ocean view! Drinks and food were great as well! Didn’t try the restaurants just did the buffet but it was yummy. Staff were friendly and attentive as well. We got the elite pass and honestly didn’t see it was necessary or major perks of it aside from the private pool with nice lounge beds. Highly recommend!

I stayed at this resort and had such a great experience! Everything was so clean, and the staff stayed on top of every detail. The pools were spotless and never overcrowded, so I never had to fight for a spot by the pool. The food was also really good. Even after checking out at 12:00 PM, I never felt rushed or like they were trying to kick me out. I still had access to the amenities and food until 5:00 PM, which made the whole experience even better. It’s the little things like that that really make you want to come back.

Stay was great but phone & ray ban meta glasses were stolen by a staff member and the customer service did little to nothing to help! Was told they would review tape because there are cameras everywhere but they never got back to me, and now a week later my phones location has since moved from property to mall in Cancun as I believe someone is trying to sell it!! They hide terrible service behind a language barrier . even when you translate and speak spanish to tell them exactly what you need, they just say no no no repeatedly. from the moment we checked in, they didn’t give us wifi codes or towel cards or bother to bring up our luggage we had to go back downstairs and collect it ourselves after waiting 45 mins. (no instruction here) every other resort we stayed at provided this service for us

I went for a solo getaway and am extremely happy I chose this resort. The property is a good size, very clean, has for pools and the buffet offered lots of food options. Staff walk around the pool and beach asking if you want a drink. They also bus you to the Rui Caribe for parties. I will definitely stay here again.

I felt safe, welcomed, and I’m looking forward to going back. One thing I must say, please people, be courteous, be considerate, and be kind to the staff. Tip the staff they deserve it. The price of everything in the world has gone up for us and them too. Everyone has families and expenses. Multiple times when I was out for breakfast lunch and or dinner, I was seated next to people who would eat multiple plates of food, order drinks and then leave without putting a tip on the table. I thought that was pretty rude. There needs to be an email sent after the confirmation about resort etiquette. In my opinion. But what do I know?
