Good, not 5*, but really fine.

Other than being a bit noisy and the curtains not being blackout I think this turned out to be a great hotel.
There is only one staff member working reception and bar so don't expect anything special or fast there.
The room was really clean, air con wasn't too intrusive, balcony did slope but totally fine, bed was comfy.
We used the terrace multiple times including renting it one evening, it was lovely.

Fantastic hotel

Fantastic hotel, from the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly helpful staff. The reception area was pristine. We had arrived late in the evening but check in was fast. There is a lift in the building to all the floors. Our room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic with hot and cold food, breakfast was from 7 am to 10 am so no need to rush. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great as it’s in the centre of town but was also very quiet. The bed was very comfortable.
The staff were always on hand if needed and was knowledgeable about restaurants and things to do in the town and the local area. We are already planning our next holiday and will stay in Hotel Bonotto, highly recommend.

Friendly staff. Parking is at a nearby garage, you pay the hotel and they give you a card that lets you drive in and out of the garage as often as you like.
Good breakfast (much better than most in Europe) on the rooftop. So nice morning view across the lake.
Desenzano de Garda was a pleasant surprise. A very nice town with lots of places to eat, drink, shop or just walk around.

Hotel was okay, not sure why all the excellent reviews as it is just an average hotel. The view we had was horrible so I would request a high room. The balcony was one of the worst I have ever seen, full of rust. The hotel is in need of renovation. Breakfast area was nice and breakfast was good, scrambled eggs looked horrendous. We had a problem with the parking, it never worked the hotel said it wasn’t their fault but the garages they need to get these things right for their guests. Apparently there is free parking nearby but we were not told about this . Overall good location, hotel just ok. We stayed in a lot nicer for the same price around Garda.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Clean well equipped rooms with recent addition of tea and coffee making facilities and mini fridge. Very good buffet style breakfast selection with fantastic views over the lake and available until 10am. Two minute walking distance to the promenade and five minute walk to shops and restaurants.Stunning views from the roof terrace across town and up the lake.

Good location close to restaurants. No car park so paid €10 to park 100m away. Main issue was that air con was inadequate on a very hot night. Not able to get a drink in the bar in the evening, night receptionist disinterested. On a positive note breakfast is included and the view is great.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and speak good English. The hotel has fantastic views of the lake from the breakfast terrace, and is well located for the lake, and only a short walk from the town centre. We were very pleased with almost all aspects of our stay; the only negative one being that our room was a little small for four people.

Good location, easy walk to town and downhill from train station (but recommend a taxi back). The hotel itself is nice, clean and the views from the breakfast terrace make it worth it. Only niggle is that the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours and the air conditioning was very noisy (the heat made it unbearable without it).

Brilliant experience at this hotel. So close to everything and with stunning views of the lake from our balcony. We received a welcome drink on arrival which we thought was lovely! Breakfast area has a panoramic view of the lake and I would highly reccomened this hotel. Walking distance to the pier to jump the boat to any other destinations around the lake.

Really good position, 20 min walking from train station (downhill), staff kind, they would keep our baggages after check-out. Room clean, just a bit weird with glass door for bathroom as you can see and hear everything. It's all electronic, so just didn't like that the air con would start every time on its own or we couldn't leave the \"do not disturb\" sign when going to breakfast. We then found the cleaner in the room when we had to quickly get ready and we left all our stuff around. Really nice breakfast hall with view on the lake. Haven't tried any meal there. Overall, great stay!

Excellent location, we used the ferries, train and bus for getting round the Lake and visited Verona and Venice. Verona was well worth a visit as was sirmoine, Gardone and Garda. we didn't want to come home. We loved the atmosphere in Dezensano on Wednesday Evening with the bands and singers. It was a perfect evening sitting in many of the bars and cafes watching the bands and listening to the music.

Our second stay at this family operated hotel. Stayed 2 weeks in October, 2015. Very please with the hotel, its excellent staff, great location and great breakfast.
The breakfast buffet is great with an amazing view of the lake, surrounding mountains and the city from the 5th floor with unobstructed views due to the sliding glass doors making up the walls.
The owner, Emanuel Bonotto, is on site greeting guests, asking if the room is ok, if there is anything that is needed or if he can provide any tips or suggestions. This spirit permeates down from the owner to all employees which makes for a great experience. The hotel is 1 block away from the lake, about 5 minutes walk away from the city center, about 15 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes away from the bus stop in Desenzanino where you can take the bus to Riva, Limone, Salo etc.
Will definitely stay here again when we return to Lago de Garda.

Splendid hotel.

Hotel Bonotto is located perfectly for tourists. No more than 5 minutes from the Desenzano train station and virtually on the edge of the lake as well as next too many shops and restaurants.
We met many staff and all speak English fluently and are eager to help; particularly Mr.Bonotto whom personally ensured we had a great time.
Rooms are cleaned daily and of a high standard, looking modern and having TV and WiFi. There was no kettle in our room so I recommend bringing a travel kettle if this would be a nuisance to you.
The hotel itself looks great inside and has a bar as well as a spacious lounge area. Breakfast is included and pretty good, certainly an important aspect due too the lack of other breakfast options in Desenzano itself. The hotel does lack a swimming pool but this really is irrelevant as Lake Garda is so close.
Overall a great hotel, with a great location and great staff. Would definitely recommend to anybody wanting too visit Lake Garda.

Rooms small and bathroom small. Kept nice and clean but cleaner left room unlocked twice. Breakfast just ok. Hot food was cold and bread rolls very hard but kitchen staff worked hard. There was a defumigation for spider infestation whilst we were there! Told about it via message in lift the day of spraying. Told about city tax on departure. Staff oblivious to the fact that we are managing euro cash at end of holiday for taxis buses to airport etc. This annoyance could easily be rectified by informing guests at the beginning of the stay not the end. Overall a mediocre stay but the lakes are expensive and you get what you pay for. The saving grace for the hotel is the location. Good for lake, restaurants and ferry.

Comfortable hotel for the touring holidaymaker

Good value for the amount we paid the rooms were of adequate, although the size and view from the balcony was a lovely bonus. The hotel staff were excellent with anything to do with the hotel and extremely helpful with knowledge on local transport, restaurants etc. The breakfast, and the breakfast room on the top floor overlooking the lake were exceptional, as were all the staff who made a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Without a doubt we will endeavor to return in the near future to enjoy the hotel and visit the sites we didn't have time for.

Never again will i book a non-refundable hotel!

We were supposed to stay here for 6 nights but only stayed one because we were so disappointed with it. Breakfast - ok the view was good but couldn't drink the coffee as it was undrinkable. Bedroom had no privacy - we heard snoring all night from somewhere else - only way of seeing outside was through a glass door in the corner. I could only ever stay in that room again if I was sedated. Lovely view from the balcony but enough room only for a chair - it was like siting on a windowsill in a big house - you could see all your neighbours.The staff could not have been nicer though - this and the fact it was clean are the only positives. The town was not my cup of tea either - too quiet and no atmosphere and it wasn't the sort of place were you could dander down to the lake for a swim & I think us and about 6 others were the only ones out of bed at 10pm.

Superb hotel in great location!

We have just returned from 4 nights at the Hotel Bonotto and wish we could have stayed longer!
The staff throughout the hotel can not do enough for you and were so helpful particularly in recommending trips out for the day and looking up boat/ bus / train timetables.
The location is wonderful with a 1 minute walk to the lake and 5 minute walk into the centre where there are just simply too many great restaurants to choose from!
The rooms were comfortable and we had balcony overlooking the lake which was a bonus! The bathrooms are dated but functional and clean so fine for us!
One of the huge benefits if the hotel is the 7th floor breakfast room with panoramic lake views- truly stunning and there is also a roof terrace with sun loungers perfect for relaxing with a book! Overall great stay and will definitely be returning!

Average Lakeside hotel

Hotel Bonotto is located literally on the shore of Lake Garda in Desenzano del Garda. There are various high quality restaurants, bars and cafes on the door step to the hotel, many of which look on to Lake Garda itself. The room we stayed in had a balcony, which provided awesome views of the lake and surrounding area.

Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by very friendly staff who on the whole were friendly and helpful throughout our 2 night stay giving good advice on where to eat etc.

Unfortunately on our first night we discovered that the walls between the rooms were paper thin and we could hear the occupant next door snoring loudly, which kept us awake in to the early hours. When we eventually attended reception it took a good half hour for us to convince staff to give us a different room for the night and this was only done so with the condition that we returned to our own room in the morning.

We were interested in doing activities on the lake itself throughout our stay. When we approached the staff member on duty to make further enquiries regarding the options and possibility of doing this we were told that there were no water sports in the area only to take a short walk down to the pier and discover that there were several companies offering boat hire services even if you did not have a boat licence. A clear lack of local tourist information.

The room itself was of average quality. The bathroom was small and the fittings dated, although it was clean. The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together and were again average but by no means luxurious and as previously mentioned the walls were paper thin, so just hope you don't get a snorer. There was a mini fridge and safe facility available and as stated earlier if you get a good room the balcony can provide great views of the lake. On the whole everything you'd probably expect from a 3 star hotel.

The breakfast was very basic but good. There was a selection of cereals, yoghurt, cakes, meats and cheeses, breads and hot drinks. Again basic but what you would expect from a 3 star hotel.

Overall this hotel is in a great location with great views and basic facilities and service you would expect from a 3 star hotel.

Excellent hotel with views of Lake Garda

We had a room on the fourth floor with fabulous views of the lake from our balcony and similar views from the breakfast room on the fifth floor. Buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold foods and was available until 10 o clock. Room was not large but very clean and lovely comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. Ideal location only minutes from a small pebble beach and the ferry terminal, also numerous bars and restaurants nearby. Our first visit to Lake Garda but I am sure we will return and would certainly stay here again.

Hotel that goes the extra mile

We found our stay at Hotel Bonotto was just what we needed. The staff were just fantastic and incredibly helpful with everything we asked of them. They made our stay feel like we were in our own home.
The room was comfortable and clean with everything we required. Our young daughter was very happy straight away, which was helped by the hotel being very child friendly and the staffs attitude towards their guests.

The breakfast room on the fifth floor is a breath taking way to start your day. The view from the balcony is an amazing view of the lake, alps and town. Breakfast was great with a good selection of savory and sweet, coffee and juice machines and hot breakfast if you wanted.

The location of the hotel is just outside of the town and only about a 2 minute walk from the fantastic restaurants.
We ate in a different one every night of our one week stay.

Its a great base to have if you are wanting to tour the lake and see the sights that this great part of Italy has to offer. This was our 3rd trip to Desenzano to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We got married here too and love the area. Everyone is so friendly.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Emanuele Bonotto and his staff for an amazing holiday and hope to return soon.

Hotel staff were fantastic. Truely 5* service.
Rooms are basic in nature, family(Quad - Bunk and double) , slightly smaller than expected but clean and perfectly satisfactory.
AirCon at the end of season isnt switched on so you may need to compromise between an open window and road noise and cooking a little...
Breakfast is great - good views and simple but great buffet style food.
Reception lounge, bar and piano good too.

Hotel within easy walk of facilities in the town. Room was clean and bed comfortable, additional storage would have been helpful. Super view across the lake from the fifth floor breakfast room. Staff friendly and helpful. Would have like to be able to lower the heating temperature - 19/20 degrees too warm at times. Main negative was the traffic noise from the
road and the road sweeping which began quite early in the morning.

Friendly hotel close to Lake Garda

We spent two weeks at Hotel Bonotto in Desenzano in September and had a very positive experience. The hotel has been refurbished recently and is quite modern. Rooms were a little on the small side by north American standards but were very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean as were the public areas. The highlight is the rooftop breakfast room which has stunning views of the lake and the mountains. The breakfast was excellent with many additional touches such as gluten free products and a variety of different toppings for the cereal. Staff were very friendly and helpful and were fluent in English. There were several neat touches - heated towel rails and the softest, fluffiest towels I have ever encountered in any hotel. The hotel is very central, a couple of minutes walk from the lake, about 7-10 minutes from the ferries and the buses to various places in the region. The train station is about 20 minutes away, but that would be the case if you stay anywhere near the lake front. The owner took a personal interest in all his guests and made them feel welcome. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning there in the future.

More like a 5 star ,wonderful breakfast area on top of the hotel overlooking the Lake and town, very good location. Train station about 20 mins. walk. you can catch local bus near to the hotel. 2 minutes to the lake edge and 5 minutes to the central area of Desenzano. Staff all really friendly and helpful.Rooms clean and well equipped, smartly furnished and decorated. Lovely, modern bar area. Everything just perfect!

Stayed as family of 4 (two teen girls) and couldnt have been more pleased, breakfast was good choices of tuna, meat and cheese, cereals, yogurt and fruit. We liked it..

This hotel is excellent . We consider we struck lucky, especially as we only booked a week before we left and there was little choice, either this or expensive.

The only negative is that there were only 2 small drawers under the wardrobe and as we stayed for a week, and don't live in beach wear, the storage for non-hanging clothes was minimal.

When we arrived we were given a map and told to turn right at the bottom of the road for the town centre which is lovely, but If you turn left and walk a little way there is a family restaurant, Al Ceppo, that has a very reasonable tourist menu, but no outside seating.

A tip here, If you are using the train, there is likely to be a slow moving queue for tickets, which are valid for 2 months, so you could buy all your journies in one go. Make sure to buy local tickets as there is a fast train at 3 times the price and not much quicker.

This is 3 star hotel with a 4 star ambiance. The owner is a genial guy with high aspirations for his renovated hotel. The 5th story breakfast room is spectacular, as is the breakfast itself. The location is fabulous - just 2 blocks from the beach! We highly recommend Hotel Bonotto!

Nearly Perfect

This proved a pretty good choice of hotel, providing excellent value-for-money. Situated just away from the main town, on a slight rise, it is still an easy 5 minutes or so walk to the harbour - a pleasant walk if you go along the lakeside and the weather is nice, or you can go via some shops ! The front desk staff were always friendly, and obliging with any queries. There was a sufficient choice at breakfast, which is now served in a rooftop breakfast room, with great views. Our room was very clean and modern, with a balcony again affording views of the lake. The only downsides I would note is that there is not too much storage space in the room - a couple of very small drawers and a wardrobe (even with our limited luggage we kept some items in the suitcase). Our room on the third floor also picked up quite a bit of traffic noise. The road isn't too busy, but it took a little getting used too for the first few nights. That said, we would certainly stay here again and I would recommend the hotel - particularly for couples.

Average standard of hotel but feel that we got what we paid for. Would go back to the same area but choose different accommodation if we were staying for longer. Ok for a weekend break....

Great location

The best thing about the hotel is the location - a minute walk from the lake and the town centre and the harbour. The rooms were clean and airconditioned, but we found the beds to be pretty uncomfortable and the shower wasn't great - however i believe ours was one of the few rooms awaiting refurbishment so perhaps these will be addressed with the refurb. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, with a good selection of foods and drinks and regularly replensished. I'd not hesitate in recommending it to friends or family.

Equipe super gentil. Perto do lago e de restaurantes. Bom conforto do quarto. Mas parte do chuveiro pequeno para pessoas obesas. A minha única sugestão é alternar as comidas do café da manhã pois é sempre o mesmo, embora bom.

Es wurde ein tolles Frühstück abgeboten. Die Matraze war für mich angenehm und fest. Ich empfand nur die Bettbreite für einen Mann meiner Grösse grenzwertig. Gerne würde ich das Hotel wieder buchen.

Tipp topp opphold på Bonotto. Lago del Garda har stjelt hjertet vårt og vi kommer gjerne tilbake. Hotellet kan anbefales. Ligger sentralt i Deszenszano, nært både strand og koselige smug med restauranter og butikker. Vi hadde familierom med fire sengeplasser. Noe trangt men vi oppholdt veldig lite på rommet uansett. Frokost var av god kvalitet og oppfylte alle våre behov. Pluss for frokostsal på toppen av bygningen der vi kunne nyte morgenkaffe med fantastisk utsikt over innsjøen.
Det som må nevnes spesielt med Hotel Bonotto er servicen vi ble møtt med. Gode råd og tips området Dagen for avreise var det trøbbel med å få tak i taxi d ble vi kjørt til togstasjonen av hotellets manager

Hotelli on erittäin siisti, siivous on joka päivä.
Monipuolinen aamiainen.
Kadun puolen huoneessa liikenteen melu häiritsee öisin.

Siisti, mutta pieni huone. Hyvä äänieristys ulos, liikenteen äänet eivät kuuluneet. Huoneessa ei ollut juomalaseja, pahvimukit olivat vähän halpa ratkaisu, eikä uusia tuotu käytettyjen tilalle. Kaikki toimi ja palvelu oli ystävällistä. Hyvä aamiainen, ja miellyttävä aamiaishuone upealla näköalalla.
