Excellent location! Metro is in the same as hotel . Walkable to everything in the city ! Clean and such a cute boutique hotel . Staff is amazing , sat down with us with map and show us everything to see and mapped it out ! The owners arranged taxi service from Sorrento to this B&B, again arranged a taxi for us to the train when we left for Rome. They suggested sights to see and walks in Naples. The B&B itself is perfectly located and is exquisitely decorated. Our room was large, 20’ ceilings, with floor to ceiling doors opening on the Piazza Dante, the en-suite bath was also large and lovely with floor to ceiling windows. Linens were excellent quality. We both felt it met all our hopes for a romantic Italian holiday!

This was the biggest room we’ve ever stayed in by a mile (similar to the size of the room hah!) - 30x21 feet minimum plus the generous bathroom and 12-foot ceilings. GREAT recommendations by the staff and excellent service all around. If you like New York, we can’t imagine not loving Naples.
Our daughters are dancers and there is a dance studio upstairs (day only). It made us feel like home. We also passed by the opera rehearsing on our way into the historic old town. This is true Italy. Loved Florence but Naples is far more authentic. You’ll do no wrong at either.

Foro Carolino is a very unique hotel. It's located in a building built in 1755. This is more like bed and breakfast as its family owned, and the apartment has belonged to one family for over 200 yrs. It's a very loved and very well taken care of hotel with friendly staff and great breakfast. Its conveniently located with walking distance to all attractions. Highly recommend .

This family-owned B&B is unique and immerses you into the heart of Napoli’s exciting urban environment. The family has owned the space in this historic 1750s building for over a hundred years and remodeled it to its current purpose using only the best materials, furnishings and design concepts. Both private and shared areas are spacious, elegant and have every modern convenience. The staff is exceptional and Foro Carolino has air conditioning, strong water pressure and good storage. The one consideration is noise. If you must have quiet, this is not the place for you. Once we got used to the setting—similar to living in any big city environment—we didn’t mind. It became part of the charm, reminding us of the vibrancy of this exciting, world-class city. Foro Carolino was near every place we wanted to explore and the metro is merely steps away. So convenient! We walked or took the metro everywhere. The restaurants and nearby shopping are top-notch.

Such a lovely place to stay, looking right out on Piazza Dante. The hosts are very welcoming and provided a map of Naples with tips on what to visit and how to get there. Lots of options for breakfast with fresh coffee and juice. Very stylish and comfortable room with a large bathroom. Its very easy to walk to the main sights of Naples, and loads of lovely restaurants and bars in the area. Yes, it can be noisy at night, just like any large city- but we felt quite safe around the area and enjoyed watching the Piazza from our window at night. Would highly recommend.

Perfectly located and newly refurbished property in the heart of Naples, with a few downsides. The staff were very welcoming and courteous, but failed to inform us of a Eur15 charge for late check-in (we arrived at 23:30). We found out about the charge only at the point of payment at check-out.
Secondly, the room was neat and well-kept, but had a couple of snags; it was very hot and humid, despite the weather being somehow cooler and drier, and had very flimsy doors, which meant that both nights of our stay we were woken up at 7:30 by clanging of cutlery and crockery from the adjacent breakfast room. Speaking of breakfast, it was good but choices were rather limited.
Overall a good stay, but some things can definitely be improved.

Nice little place spoilt by the noisey restaurant.
There was no street level signage to guide us to the way to the hotel however a waiter helped us. It was off putting at times as groups of young people seemed to congregate in the area but didn’t bother us. Our room also was above a restaurant and the room smelled of pizza, it was very noisy and as the air con did not work, the room was too hot. We could only open the window daytime for air as night was too noisy from the restaurant underneath.
We did have the place to ourselves too once the other 2 guests left so it was quiet on that front. Another downside was there was no staff on site apart from breakfast on one of our mornings, check in and check out. On morning 2 we were given a voucher for the restaurant under the hotel but this was for orange juice/ coffee or a pastry only.

The hotel itself is acceptable.Booked and paid for 4 nights and the owner charged me the full rate even after I told him I cannot stay in this area and moved out of this disgusting square after 1 night.Piazza Dante is dirty,messy and broken and the element of people around the area are frightening.Historical centre but we moved after one night to Chiaia-a different world-clean-smart-great shops.DEFINITELY STAY THERE-Recommend hotel Palazzo Alabardieri.

This was a fantastic location in a beautiful building. The rooms and public areas have amazing features. Room facilities are good with all the items you need. Air conditioning was quiet and beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and breakfast was lovely.

There are many stairs to get up to your room and must have numerous keys to get through different doors. It is bed and breakfast and not a hotel. If those things don't bother you than the location and room was great.

Foro Carolino is an outstanding place to stay. It has huge spacious and well furnished rooms which seem like a palace compared to other places to stay. It is very clean and well kept. While it’s not in a location with big signs, the staff makes sure you have a smooth check-in experience by contacting you before hand and giving you detailed instructions. Check-in was a breeze for us. The bed and pillows in the room were very comfortable and there was no street noise. In addition to soundproof windows, they have wooden inner-shutters which you can easily close which blocks out light and sound. We did not get a chance to sample their breakfast since we left every morning of our stay before breakfast.
Now as far as downsides, there is no elevator so you have one floor of stairs to deal with. Additionally there is a children’s ballet school on the floor above. So during daytime hours, there can be sounds from the school. Since the sounds of the ballet school was during daytime hours, we were not bothered. During sleeping hours, the room was virtually silent.
If we ever venture back to Naples, we’ll stay at Foro Carolino.

Naples in general is fairly rundown but this hotel was great. It can be a bit hard to find but once you find the giant green gate it’s all good. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was delicious. Loved the Ferragamo products and the slippers. They had Netflix and a high end blow dryer. Loved our stay and would stay again!

Absolutely wonderful! We love Naples, but it can be a challenging city. Foro Carolino is an absolute oasis of calm. It clean, comfortable, well run and the people are extremely nice. When we return to Naples, we would not even consider another hotel.

It was a great stay, there were only two things to be aware of . The hotel itself is very difficult to find, if there was a picture of the outside of the building it would've made it a lot easier to find. Also, if you plan on traveling during the fall/early winter, it's about 50-60 degrees outside and there was no AC so we had to keep the windows open and got attacked by mosquitos.

Very nice room. Very friendly host and staff. Very helpful staff. The breakfast was very nice. If you don't mind the music and noise outside up until 2 am this would work very well for you. It was difficult to find and the signage outside the location and in the hallways is poor. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags up a long stairway. An armoire to put some clothes away with also be very nice. Make sure you advise the hostess of your arrival beforehand so she can unlock the front door for you. Location-wise it is very close to the old city. The subway is right outside the door. We think that we may have been better off staying closer to the harbour where there are more restaurants and better shopping.

Hotel stay was ok, if unremarkable and perhaps expensive for what it is. Our issue began after check out—we left behind a bag (wholly my own fault), and attempted to arrange its return. I offered to pay for both the cost and the trouble of sending it onward. However the hotel simply stopped responding to my messages. Fearing the item totally lost, I contacted my credit card company to try to make a travel insurance claim. When they reached out to the hotel, the hotel said they had the item, invalidating the claim. However they still don’t respond to my messages. Frustrating communication all around.

Wow. Wow. We took a shot in the dark on Foro Carolino for our one night in Naples on the way to the Amalfi area, and it blew our minds! First trip ever without our young kids and first time alone together in years. Maria and Francesco have restored a centuries old family home into an exquisite, tasteful, and classic hotel. Our room was magnificent. High ceilings with these gorgeous pockets of exposed beams. That fabulous bathtub! All the appointments are super modern, clean designed, luxurious. But the feel of the place is so timeless and not at all ostentatious. Breakfast and coffee and cappuccino are all stellar.
But what really distinguishes Foro are Maria and Francesco and their great staff. I pulled an all-time boneheaded move and left my computer bag in the taxi from the airport. Early am arrival, all night flight, I was wiped out. We were checking in and it dawned on me in slow motion what I had done. Maria went straight to work, called every cab company in the city, came out to the Piazza with me to ask around with other drivers if they remembered my guy, ACCOMPANIED ME TO THE AIRPORT! to try an all-time hail mary and find the guy. The story is too long, but somehow - deep into desperate conversations with random taxi drivers - we found somebody who knew my guy and Maria negotiated the safe return of my computer. It was an outrageous miracle, made possible only by the dogged and immediate attention that Maria had no business paying us. Still blown away by it!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Foro Carolino. Our room was immaculate, with views overlooking Piazza Dante and a relaxed atmosphere that was started each morning with a delicious breakfast and concluded each night with a really comfortable bed. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly and couldn't have made us feel any more welcome. Additionally, the steam room is a small extra cost but absolutely worth it. The hotel is perfect for exploring the Spanish Quarter and Centro Storico. We couldn't have asked for any more.

Alessandro and Gennaro created the inviting kitchen and comfortable solid wood beds, ensuring guests enjoy both aspects of our 'bed and breakfast' experience. OVO celebrates Neapolitan craftsmanship with approximately one thousand hand-painted tiles, replicating the ancient designs found in historic cloisters and houses.
The large canvas featuring Lele the elephant, a creation of architect Massimiliano Lombardi, adds a touch of whimsy to the space. Local artist Luca Davino, inspired by his travels, has adorned our walls with four dreamy watercolors capturing the spirit of Naples.
Our passion for design extends to carefully chosen furnishings, including the iconic Maralunga sofa, Hay chairs, Nessino and Dalù lamps, and a vintage Neapolitan toilet, all complementing the two antique Tuscan chests. Every detail has been meticulously considered, reflecting the essence of our name, OVO (egg).
