I was able to check in early upon arrival. Location was very clean, secure and quiet, which was a huge plus. I traveled alone as this was my first visit to Rome. Very convenient to shops, cafes and restaurants all within a 5-10 minute walk. Valeria was an excellent hostess as she was very friendly with many suggestions for cafes and restaurants. Yes, I would certainly stay at this location again “when in Rome”.

My entire stay at New Design was magnificent! The room was beautiful, very cozy…high ceilings, a hot tube, great a/c and heat, wonderful housekeeping staff, a spectacular bathroom, big screen, outside elevator…I can go on and on! Stefania and Valeria even helped me booked a taxi to FCO at an awesome rate! I truly cannot say enough good things about New Design…I’m definitely gonna stay there again on my next visit to Rome (very soon)!

The property is located within a residential building next to a quiet enclosed courtyard. Because it requires passcodes to get into the courtyard, the building as well as the hotel, it feels quite safe. We did not drive but saw that there are some street Parking’s around the property. The room is clean with interesting and high ceiling. Staff is friendly and very responsive during working hours. There are quite a few restaurants near the hotel with just a short walk away.

THIS IS NOT A HOTEL!
We had a very dificult time finding the place. They are located inside a rather large older development that is under renovations and you are surrounded by construction work and garbage. The number is almost impossible to see on the exterior of the building and upon entering the door to the complex you have no idea this could be a hotel.Our Taxi driver couldn't even find the building and a coffee shop next door had never heard of New Design St Peter! I have several pictures of the construction garbage in the courtyard and the state of construction .
Service is only available from 9.00 am to 2.00 PM and communication is through an app called WHATSAPP- You can send them a message after 2.00 pm but you do not get a response until after 9.00 am the next day-Great for an emergency!
The rooms are barely adequate and we could hear someone coughing in am adjoining room many times.
We had a written confirmation from Expedia outlining our cost but it was not honoured by |New Design St Peter. They said there had been a change in some kind of tax about 2 years ago -I objected to paying the increase as they would have received the same information about my stay from Expedia that was on my confirmation but they would not give us the key unless we paid the extra. And unfortunately all of this was taking place by telephone as they were not onsite.
If you want to be considered as a Hotel you need to provide better service, need more signage and have staff available.

New Design St. Peter is in an excellent location and safe area. Felt safe walking even in the wee hours of the morning or late at night. Walking distance to Vatican Museum, St. Peter's Basilica and Metro A station and other tourist areas. The area has lots of nearby restaurants. The room is clean and descent in size. Our room was on the 3rd floor (4th level) and was difficult for 80 yr old couple to carry luggages on those 4 flights stairways…..our arrival on 7/20/25 was after 2 pm past their office hours of 9AM - 2PM. Departure was early too, so no one could assist with our luggages.
Thank you to Valerie, the owner who was very accommodating and solved our AC problem.
Would recommend this place after all the construction is done. Beautiful and modern interior set up! Safe place to stay too.

Beautiful accommodations and a wonderful hotelier. Valeria was sweet, helpful, quick to respond to our questions and made wonderful recommendations on places to eat. There is a lovely sitting area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, fill your water bottle and collect your thoughts. Many food options nearby as well as a Metro station. Easy walking distance to the Vatican. We used a cab to access the historic district as those sites are farther away.

There are renovations happening on the grounds and courtyard which prevented us from enjoying them. The elevator was also under construction and we could not use it.

We had a safe in our room and all entrances to the property, building and floor required an access code. This made us feel very comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily and having WiFi access made it easy to stay in touch with home and research our tours and restaurants.

Having so many places to choose from and being first time travelers to Rome, we were very pleased.

The room is newly designed. It would of been a pleasant stay based on location and accessibility, especially with the way New Saint Peter was advertised... unfortunately there were many points as to why it was a bit disappointing. We advanced booked 2 seperate stays. On the first stay, after the first night, the air conditioner did not work. On the second stay, on the first night the air conditioner started leaking soaking the floor. In general, as well, we were not informed that the place being stayed at was under construction and that elevator was out of service despite being up 3 flights of stairs with luggage (*note for those disabled or with wheelchair). We were only informed after the booking was unrefundable. We asked for a refund for the second stay as we wanted to change our mind, but was not allowed.

This is a beautiful property which I would have rated five stars if there had been a lift in operation. The four flights were difficult to navigate. Thank goodness for staff member Maria, who carried the big luggage up and down for us. I am 78 and would not have stayed here had I been aware that the elevator was not operational. However, the facility is absolutely charming, Stephania was friendly, helpful, and delightful to deal with. If you're young and in good shape, stay here . . . it's a lovely facility.

I cannot fault anything about New Design St. Peter. I am so so glad I made the choice to stay here with my husband during our weekend to Rome. The staff is incredible warm and helpful. We communicated mainly through Whatsapp to coordinate self-checkin, self-checkout, and recommendations of where to eat in Rome. Everything was seamless.
One of the owners Stefania is such a kind, lovely and classy human being. The location is also unbeatable. It's a beautiful neighborhood with excellent food within 15-minute walks.

Excellent property situated in the best location. Right next to the metro, 10 mins walk from the Vatican and best of all close to the best pizza and burger places you'll have in your life... Stefania and Nelmar were our hosts. Excellent service from both even made an effort to come see us. Which is fantastic. Room was really good comfortable bed and good size TV. Room size is more than adequate for two people and was cleaned daily. With daily towel changes... Breakfast was Italian i.e crossaints, orange juice and coffee. Good and kept us going until lunch. Fresh croissants too. Don't expect an English breakfast as obviously you're not in England or America. But other cafés do it (for an inflated price)

Other reviewers have mentioned but will say again this is a guest house and not a hotel as such, so you dot have your usual hotel facilities. On arrival you may have a bit of difficulty find the right entrance, especially in the dark and if the taxi drops you off at the wrong place. The entrance is a large double door at No.8 with the New Designs intercom at the bottom right-hand side of the door. Once contacted Neymar came down to meet us and take us up to the reception and our rooms. Neymar was good and kept us right all through our 4-night stay. The rooms were clean and modern and cleaned on a daily basis to a high standard. On our first night Neymar gave us a voucher to use at a restaurant just a few minutes walk away, this included a free bottle of wine and the food was good. If you book the breakfast as well this is served in a small cafe again just a couple of minutes walk away, the staff here are excellent and helpful, but if you like breakfast tea take some tea bags with you, this applies to your room as well as they just have flavoured tea and coffee here. (to be fair after we mentioned it a tea bag was placed with the others each day). Good location for St. Peters and the Metro is just a few minutes walk away and this will get you across the city to other points where you can then just start walking. Overall a good experience and would recommend trying if you are just looking for a good place to rest your head after a day of walking the Roma sights.

Stefania is a great hostess and know exactly how to keep her guests happy. We were able to check in early for our 2-night stay and upon arrival she, personally explain everything we needed to know about the property and the city. She also made recommendations for local authentic restaurants with gifts from her, 30% discount on one, and a bottle of wine on another one. Breakfast is included in the price, either in the room or at the facility next door. The room was superb, very high class, modern, CLEAN room and bathroom, COMFORTABLE BED, queen/king size, classy bedding, 3 sets of nice classy clean towels in 3 different sizes, eco friendly and nice containers of shampoo, shower gel, liquid soap, body lotion, shower cap, and more, a basket for used towels under the sink, YES they cleaned our room and gave us clean towels. The room has a small fridge/mini bar with items to purchase at a reasonable price, it's indicated on a card. The place is at a great location! We walked to the metro, about minutes and close to the Vatican Museum, about a 10-minute walk. We felt very safe, you get your own keys to the place and it's very private and secluded, and it has an elevator. There is a beautiful, private garden inside the building/patio. Stefania was very helpful, practical, and super friendly!!!! She kept in contact with us throughout our stay via WhatsApp, she was even willing to come from the other side of the city, after hours to bring an iron I requested. BEST EXPERIENCE IN ROME!

The staff, Nelmar and Valeria, were amazing! Very kind, accommodating and thoughtful. We were treated so well and all the little extra touches were amazing. The room was spacious, Room 204, and we had a king size bed. The bathroom was large, clean and well-stocked. Located in such a cozy, quiet neighborhood too. The only downfall was there was hardly any storage space/dresser for our belongings and we couldn't change the language setting on the TV from German to English. Lol! I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay at New Design St. Peter again!

We arrived to Rome September 11th to this hotel and was warmly welcomed by Stefania and Angelica. Stefania was very informative and gave us tips on how to get to the metro, where to eat, etc. The location of the hotel was close and conveniently placed to everything you might need. There are plenty of restaurants and stores in every block and the metro is about 5 mins walk. Getting to the center of Rome takes about 15 mins via metro. The room we stayed in was very clean and smelled really great. I felt very good at choosing this place to stay after numerous research online because my pet peeve is of course dirty rooms and bathrooms. Housekeeping was everyday and breakfast was beside the hotel which is very good as well! The place itself is very safe. Close to the Vatican. While we stayed here we felt more like we lived here as it gave more of air bnb feeling which is nice. The staff isn’t around 24 hrs but you can contact them easily via telephone and Stefania was very responsive to our needs and concerns. The beds were very comfortable. We stayed in Paris and then Amalfi before arriving here and the bed we had is most comfortable at this hotel. The AC in the room worked well and kept us cool. The fridge in the room and coffee maker was a plus for us. I also liked that their hair dryer was powerful and worked great. I usually bring my travel one but not as good as using their own. We really had a great time and will recommend, stay here again for our next visit to Rome! :)

A great location to explore Rome from, easy access to Metro Ottoviano, although easy walking distance to significant landmarks. Guesthouse was in great condition and staff were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The free breakfast that was included, at local Cafe(Artgiano del Cafe) was perfect in Italian style, staff friendly and eager to please. A great week of lasting memories.

Very happy with our decision to select this place for our first Europe/Rome pre-cruise accommodation. Close to everything we need to go for our short two nights but most importantly that the place was clan, clean and the service from the owner and her staff was amazing. Very helpful with recommendations for our tours and also booked our taxi for us to hotel and to cruise without any hassles. The place they selected for free breakfast and free wine for dinner also were amazing as well. We’ll definitely will stay here again on our next and much longer Rome trip. The bathroom had mood lighting and the shower was really powerful . It was less than a 5 minute walk to the Vactian and same to the nearest metro station

Need extra light above bathroom sink to help with cleaning and flossing teeth and applying face moisturizer/makeup. Also extra light where the big mirror was next to the bed. The table/desk could also use extra light. The recessed lighting in the ceiling was nice, but in general, extra lights would be nice.

Enjoyed the stay. Nice, clean and quiet! Excellent communication with the owner. I was very grateful that the owner allowed me a late check out (3 pm) without any extra charge. Free breakfast and awesome location (a few mins walk to the Vatican:)

The property was quirkey . Like living in apartment block. Lovely comfortable room clean and modern bathroom. Everyday room was turned down and freshened up . People very welcoming although no permanent reception you can communicate with owners via mobile and they will do anything you ask . Eg bookmtaxi , restaurant etc. Breakfast again available in lovely little cafe a few blocks up from the hotel . Really lovely break . Recommend this hotel .
