Fabulous location within easy walking all around Barceloneta, the beaches and Port Vell. Right off of Metro and buslines, including both companies for Hop On/Off city wide touring buses. Good value for nightly pricing. Fourth floor - patio balconies - hidden gem!!! (Some traffic noise)

Room was very clean, great amenities. We had a veranda which was a surprise, we enjoyed the spot to relax and enjoy the view. About 20 mins walk to la rambla, maybe 15 mins to gothic quarter. Staff were nice. Our AC stopped in the middle of the night, they offered to move us to a different room but we opted to stay and just opened the door to the veranda. We stayed for one night.

It was ok, we had a rooftop deck but not really much in the way of services. The morning breakfast was really nice but you had to pay for that on top of your room fee as well as a fee for parking the car in a parkade away from the hotel. I feel as though it ended up being a lot of extra money for an ok hotel, no lobby, confusing check in with a car (no available 5 min parking) or any services. However, it was clean good location adjacent to Gothic area and the people were friendly!

This is not a cheap hotel but you would think so by the way the rooms are supplied. No shampoo, no conditioner, no Kleenex.
I booked 2 rooms for 3 people. One had 3 beds and room to move. The other had a cot thrown in which blocked access to the closet…really a double.
Also, charged 10% tax on the city tax. No other hotel I booked in Spain did. Feel like a hand in my pocket for no reward!

As it’s sensor light, it’s scary to go out the room when it’s dark. It’s not pleasant experience. Some guest may be afraid of dark and can potentially have heart attack. I recommend to changing it to permanently turned on. The breakfast buffet is not worthy to my opinion. Not many choices

This hotel is the perfect location in Barcelona. We stayed for 10 days and walked to the beach, the port, all through the Bari Gòtic area, and over to La Rambla. For exploring further away, the metro L4 Barceloneta station was only a couple of minutes away and from there you could get anywhere else. We loved coming back after a long day of shopping and sightseeing to sit and have a drink on the personal patio for our room. We will definitely look to stay here again when in Barcelona.

5 stars for the location - easily accessible to various parts of the city. Walking distance to the train station. Staff were great and allowed us to check in as we were really early. Downside is that there was no tea/coffee facilities and you only realise how much you need it, when its not available. We were in Barcelona during the power outage and unfortunately, had to walk back to the hotel from the train station which was halfway to Sitges. We had no cash on us so couldn't take a taxi/bus. When we got to the hotel, they were just as helpless unfortunately. Could have provided us with free bottled water. They didn't even have any temporary light fixtures to guide us as we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs in absolute darkness. Overall, it is a lovely place, perfect for venturing out in all directions..just think of the customer sometimes..and what would you like to be done is such situations..

great location , close to absolutely everything , even the train station, 200 mts from the water front , right on the hottest spot of Barcelona, the gothic quarters, close to la Rambla, Paseo de Gracia, etc, hotel is small but very nice, the breakfast is great, comfortable and nicely decorated, the room was clean and nice but small, that is the only down, a bit tight to place luggage and clothes around but the terrace was great, beds were comfortable, drains in the washroom were not great, seemed that the tub and sink got the drains a bit clogged, other than that we really liked it, next trip back we will stay at the same hotel.

The breakfasts and staff are excellent. The hotel rooms and accoutrements are in pretty good shape for an older hotel. Scarlett and Sekh stand out as great employees. The city should be alerted to the distraction and concern guests have over the street people. They need help and we are unsure of what city or national services are in place to reduce their plight. We would happily return to this hotel for the above pluses and its perfect location.

We stayed in Hotel del Mar for New Years and chose a room with terrace. The room is simple, clean and has all basic necessities, bed was comfortable. Staff is very helpful with anything you need (ice bucket for Cava, glasses, call a taxi, etc). The bathroom was large, nice shower with hot water, and several toiletry kits are provided. Our room had a small fridge that we loved to use for orange juice, cheese and wine, it chilled very fast. The terrace has one lounger and a table with two chairs. Ours looked over to the marina and the beach. We saw the New Years fireworks show from the terrace!! Location is perfect, close to many restaurants, metro station close, bus stop right in front. Walked to El Born, Ciutadella, Santa Maria del Mar, Catedral, Barceloneta. I would stay here again

Hello we stayed for 3 days in the property wish that the hotel would be honest about the accommodations upfron. The hotel advertising that it has central air is false they run the air system on a loop and it is more like a fan vs AC. We had someone from the front desk come and check on the room and there was nothing to be done. Also someone came into my room while I was alone not a very pleasant experience with the excuse that they wanted to check if the international channels where working in the room. A phone call could have been an easy solution for that.

Didn’t give a 5 star review as we had requested two twin beds and were given a room with queen bed. Made it work for the 2-night stay since we really didn’t spend much time in the room. Having a terrace to sit out on is really what made the stay at this hotel nice to ‘wine’ down in the late evenings since the weather was excellent.

Overall the hotel was fine. However the room was not very practical. The room was very small and lacked basic amenities like a kettle and coffee machine. the bathroom was very poorly designed. The shower was separated by a panel of glass from the sink. The panel did not go from one wall to the other, it only went half way which meant that the water went everywhere when you showered. There was no storage for your toiletries above or below the sink. More importantly, the water had a very strong odour of chlorine.

This was in an ideal location for me. It is adjacent to the port, and there are literally dozens of small restaurants within easy walking distance.

My only real complaint was that the mattress was hard as a rock, making sleeping a challenge.
Breakfast buffet is excellent. All in all, this worked out well for my two week stay for work purposes. Contrary to what was suggested online, there appears to be no in-house laundry for customer use, but you can send laundry out if needed. It is a small hotel. Nothing fancy, but in a great location. Three star is an appropriate rating.

Property was clean and well positioned but room was very small and the only window looked straight out at glass lift shaft, anyone going up,down in the lift could look straight in the room, room was dark and gloomey! In Short VERY expensive for facilitys provided. Would not stay again.

The view from the balcony was not as good as advertised. The “city view” looks directly into the back of another building except the West most facing room. We wouldn’t have booked if we had known this originally.
The beds were very small and uncomfortable. There were also some insects (ants and a cockroach) in our room. Aside from that it, felt clean.
The service was really wonderful and everyone who worked there was very kind.
I suppose it would be a decent place to stay with friends, but if going with family (like I did), I’d recommend getting something nicer.

Perfect location near the beach

Perfect location if you want to spend time at the beach while in Barcelona. Also right near the Gothic Quarter and walking distance to the Basilica.
No complaints with the hotel itself. Clean and large room and bathroom. Nice terrace with seating also
