The location is amazing and a great view of Lake Temiskaming. I got to swim at the beach in early June and the water was perfect, since it is seperate from Lake Temiskaming, otherwise would have been too cold. It was a highlight to be able to swim at the beach right by the hotel.
The staff is really friendly and they make an enjoyable free breakfast for the guests.

The bed was clean and comfortable. I was there three nights and in the second morning there was no hot water for the shower. I guess there were too many others at the motel that consumed all the hot water and their water heaters couldn't keep up. Not being able to shower before a business day was not expected.

Fantastic location! Gorgeous scenery down the lake.
From the moment we opened the door, we were assaulted by an unpleasant, strong smell. The towels and bedding were dark colours which really didn't make us feel too comfortable. The curtain rod was held together with duct tape. There were many wires just hanging loosely and certainly not safe for small children.
In general, okay for an overnight stay but definitely not for a few days.
At $188 it was definitely overpriced for what you get.
We were very disappointed.

I won't hide the fact that it's a motel, and that the rooms aren't exactly up-to-date, but the owner is so nice, the egg mcmuffin is delicious, and the view is worth the detour!!!

Lobby is like walking into a closet. We stayed in Room #8. It smelled clean but door lock was broken. Had to put a chair under the handle for security. Tiles were cracked in the bathroom. I would not recommend to anyone. Not worth $160.00. I can’t believe the review average was 9.0/10.

I have stayed about five times in the past year and I’m happy with the motel,,stafff are great and the rooms are fine,, I stayed in room 3 my last visit and could hear a conversation in room 2 as well as snoring??,,the breakfast starts at08:00 to 09:30 so I can’t comment on it as my day starts well before that.

Normally, I would rate this place a 5 star stay across the board, Ive stayed several time at this particular motel, but I wasn't as happy with the accommodations this time around. That being said, I was lucky to find any accommodation at all as late as I did, and only got lucky because someone had checked out early.

Most issues this time around were small (like the cable), as was the accommodation, but I would, absolutely go back and stay again. The owners/staff are wonderful and you can't beat the view at any time of day. Sun up, sun down and the stars over the lake are breathtaking!

So dirty wouldn’t go back.

I was booked for 6 nights and only stayed for one - debated for a refund. Stains on all 8 pillows, short black hair and dirt in the wrinkled bed sheets, toothpaste crusted on the green towels, garbage under the bed and so much dirt on the floor I had to wipe my socks off before I put my feet on the bed. They argued the floor was vacuumed yesterday until I showed them pictures and offered to sweep the floor and bring it to them.

The unit cleanliness was disappointing. Baseboards were dirty, floor around the toilet had accumulated dirt, cobwebs in many corners and dental floss from previous client was left on a window sill.

For summer, this property is fantastic! There’s a Swimming area, bike trails and walkable paths. The view is gorgeous.
After asking twice for a hairdryer (as Advertised), I took a long bus ride home with dirty hair! My advice is bring your own. Otherwise, clean, cute rooms with all new appliances and fixtures. Breakfast is minimal but included.

The Haileybury Beach Motel is truly worth the ride beyond the chain hotels in Temiskaming Shores - the been-there-done-that hotels. This hotel is right on the waterfront in Haileybury with access to walking paths and views of incredible sunsets at the end of your busy day. The room was extremely clean, and it is clear that the owners have taken great care in ensuring their property is very well maintained. The hosts are very pleasant, kind, and left me feeling like I was a true guest in their home away from home. I believe in supporting independently owned businesses, and this one is on my go-to list!

Directly on the water with access to a public beach next door and waterfront park, this vintage motel is fabulous. Its inviting from the outside and even better inside. The rooms are super clean and comfy, the owners are friendly and helpful. There's chairs outside, so you can watch the water and maybe chat with your neighbour. If you're looking for luxury, go elsewhere, but with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and breakfast, this is absolutely perfect for travelers looking to support the private owner while experiencing an economical option with a vintage vibe.

We did not like our room but were told they were full. The whole point of staying there was a view of the water but we were in a corner room with windows that only faced the back and side with the view of grass that was 2 feet high. Those windows had cheap blinds that let the light in at 5 am whereas other rooms that faced the water had blackout curtains. The breakfast that was included, although made fresh, offered no choice. Egg McMuffins with either bacon or sausage, hash browns, coffee, tea or juice. There were no other alternatives like cereal, yoghurt, toast or fruit like many other places offer. There is no eating area so you have to take a tray back to your room. Staff were pleasant. Location is by the water so you can walk around the waterfront. For what we experienced, it was overpriced compared to others in the area.

Took a long weekend exploring Temiskaming Shores and decided on this waterfront motel in Haileybury, which is right in the middle and on Lake Temiskaming. A picturesque little town; the services are all in New Liskeard to the north, but only a scenic ten-minute drive up the shore. While the rooms are small, they have been renovated and have what you need in them. The big bonus was the owners' takeaway Indian menu you could order, which was some of the best Indian food we've had in Northern Ontario (there's a lot more such food up here now). So if you stay here, plan to eat in. The breakfast options are also affordable and filling. There's a great view over the town's marina onto the lake. The town is quiet, and it was priced affordably. Would definitely recommend this motel.

We have been to Haileybury many times but never stayed here. It was such a delight and we will be back for sure! We especially enjoyed the restaurant which has an amazing menu of veg and meat Indian dishes. The owners are lovely and made sure we had breakfast-to-go … even though we were a little late to get up!
