The hotel, restaurant and coffee shop were bustling with New Year revellers. The hotel accommodation is rustic. Rooms are bit too small for the size of the beds - no space for luggage. Plenty of options for a pint or a bite to eat, either in the hotel itself or in the village. Great spot for scenic walks and the smokehouse at the back does some great fayre. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Booked into the Inn for 2 nights. The room and bed was very small. No table. Shower was ok. Dirty carpets on stairs. We did eat there and food very expensive. Although I was aware of no refund policy I did Ask for a refund for 2nd night and was assured that when I contacted Expedia this would not be a problem. When Expedia contacted the inn they refused. Very disappointed and the Inn was adamant that I was not assured of a refund. Very disappointed

This is a fantastic location to stay. The falls are stunning and the Inn couldn’t be in a better location. We could see them from our triple room despite it being the last room in the corridor. The room was clean, cosy and had everything needed. The staff were great. We ate dinner here at the restaurant and it was fantastic. Highly recommend the Scottish tapas, which is enough as a main dish despite being on the starter menu. The breakfast was also extremely good; large portions of traditional Scots food with the usual toast and cereal if preferred. Highly recommend this charming Scottish Inn.

The stairs to the bedrooms were very steep with inadequate handrails. It was very difficult to climb the stairs whilst carrying luggage. The bedroom was very small and cramped making it difficult to move around. There was no carpet in the bedroom.

The bathroom in our room only had a tub, no standing shower. The ceiling was so low that you had to crouch to use the tub. The toilet seat was broken. The floor of the room was dirty.

Atmospheric bar & restaurant, beautifully appointed room. Breakfast was incredible! I looked forward to my smoked salmon every morning. Husband had the vegetarian breakfast and said it was also excellent.
I liked the system of selecting breakfast the night before.
The town is super walkable with location next to the peaceful & romantic waterfalls. Outdoor tables packed with people gave it an energetic but casual hub-of-the-village vibe.
Hallway carpeting (with old water stains?) and walls showing some wear & tear, but nothing that impaired function or charm. Good value.

We did not stay. We were not given the room that was booked. It was terrible. Tiny room, disgusting shower - I wouldn’t put an animal in it. The bed cover absolutely disgusting. It looked as though it had never been washed. I went to see the Manager and unless he could give us the room that was booked I said we are leaving and we did. It was extremely disappointing as it was a birthday holiday and we had to drive 220 miles where we were able to get accommodation as I rung from the Car Park. It needs to come off your site. You are selling it on the view - full stop.

Friendly staff, charming old interior of restaurant/bar and cafe. On the upper floor where the rooms were, the carpet was filthy with large stains from an old skylight leak. The bed was so old you could feel the springs in your back, pillows old and lumpy, quills of feathers in down comforter pricked your skin constantly, bathroom sink light was out, tiles behind toilet had fallen out. It was impossible to get any sleep.

Beautiful area and bar area, room was not great

We stayed two nights for a birthday celebration as the pictures looked beautiful. The surrounding area is indeed beautiful, the falls are worth seeing and the village is lovely too. The bar area is lovely and you can tell lots of attention given to details there. The gas was off for one of the nights we were there so we didn’t have hot water, it was also my birthday and I wanted to wash so wasn’t the best. Unfortunately, our room was not in the best condition. It looked like it needed a good spruce up. There was a vent in the bathroom looking up you could see loads of cobwebs. The ceilings are slanted and unfortunately you hit your head a lot. There were cracks in the ceiling where people had hit their heads previously. There were also other peoples hairs in the sink when we arrived. Wouldn’t spend the money we did on this hotel again but the area around is beautiful so if you want somewhere convenient this is the place to be.

This is a beautiful area and the hotel is right across the street from the Falls. The dinner and breakfast were excellent as well. They make smoked salmon on site where it can also be purchased. I was sad we only stayed one night, could have stayed a few more days to explore the area more. The room was very clean. We had the family room with the twin bunk beds. The stairs up to the room are very steep so if you have any mobility issues it could be difficult.

The location of this property is amazing. It’s quirky and full of character and the staff are really friendly. This is a small family run business and has local beers and locally sourced food. 5 stars all round for us. Only negative is could do with slightly bigger TV and better areal or sky.

A busy inn

A typical inn, bustling when we arrived. Check in easy but in the pub so unusual. Food was excellent, especially dinner. Staff very friendly and super helpful. The room we had was very small, and in need of some grooming. But the location and quaint atmosphere were great.

You get what you pay for. Our room was above a very loud droning sound, whilst fairly clean the bathroom had not window, when we went for breakfast we were given cows milk and when we asked for soya were told this is all we have. Waitress was rude ! If youre on a budget its fine, otherwise stay elsewhere.

This is my favourite spot in Scotland and the Falls of Dochart Hotel is a fantastic place to stay, eat and drink! Great service and wonderful food, Sharon really did make our stay! So laid back and welcoming! I’ve been before and I’ll definitely be back. One bit of advice… book early as it’s popular! Loved our river view room, sitting by the window, having a drink and watching the falls, people and world go by!

Very much worth it despite some issues

We stayed in room 1. Free parking, busy but always a space available for us. View of the store rooms and kitchen with an air conditioning unit below the window. The room was hot so we needed to keep the window open. The room was small with limited storage and the ceiling of the bathroom sloped so impossible to stand up to shower. No shower curtain either so only option was a bath - I'm not a fan of a bath and prefer to shower. The fittings, finish and furnishings were of a very high quality as were the toiletries. The bar had a very good range of beers, wines and spirits and the food is frankly excellent and absolutely worth the short comings of the room. Service was odd ... everyone friendly and lovely but on day 1 we waited an hour for our starter and on day 2 I had to go to the bar to ask to order after we'd been sat down for 20 minutes. Free deserts were given as an apology, which was very good customer service I felt. Genuinely really enjoyed our stay ... the good outweighs the negatives by far.

Great weekend away - lovely cottage and pub food

Amazing weekend away with cracking weather and a great stay at The Falls of Dochart Inn.

Accomodation was cosy and located behind the main hotel; nice and quiet given the restaurant and bar were packed given the great weather.
If I had to be super picky; then the finishing on the ensuite left a little to be desired but the cottage was well kitted out.

Food was simple and good mix of classics and Scottish classics for dinner.

Breakfast was simple and very wholesome.

Cottage was lovely and we couldn't have asked for more helpful staff or a better location. Bedrooms were very spacious and really comfortable beds! The cottage could do with some TLC in some areas but overall we were really happy with it. There were only 4 towels provided when we arrived, so for a 5 night stay in a property that sleeps 6 normally it was a bit odd. There were about 12 bath mats though!!? As there was only 2 of us it wasn't a problem and I'm sure if we had asked the staff for more they would have happily provided them. Other negatives were no info pack in the cottage and no small welcome pack (milk/bread/eggs). For the price this is just something we would normally expect to find. With no info pack in the property we had to do our own research to find out what was available in the area which was a bit frustrating. Overall we had a lovely comfortable stay in the cottage and would consider booking again in the future :)
