The cute little room was clean and airy, the bathroom products were fully stocked, and a full hot or cold breakfast is provided. The room is up a set of outside stairs just above the restaurant, which has a nice variety of options on the menu. We enjoyed our stay both on the way to Canna and overnight on the return.

We had a delightful overnight stay in the room with twin beds. The shower is small but has lovely shower heads with good water pressure for washing long hair. The room is just up the stairs on the side of the Inn, so a quick walk to the restaurant for the included breakfast. There are cold breakfast options, and I had a nice strength latte and the hot breakfast. The service was good. I would stay here again.

We were only here for one night. I thought it was on the isle of sky. It is not but in the town of Mallaig. We needed to take a ferry to the island or travel 2 1/2 hours around to get there. We didn’t know this, so we missed scheduling. The weather was very cold and wet the next morning so we decided to bypass the isle of skye. The drive to Mallaig and all the sites of glencoe and the highlands made the trip totally worth it. We were in total awe.

Accommodations here are very basic, but it does the trick. Basic bed(s) in a small upstairs room with a small, but clean bathroom. Staff is super friendly and welcoming and that goes a long way. The restaurant serves quality food, including the made-to-order breakfast and the bar is well stocked and gets lively at night. I would recommend staying here but don't expect a 4 star experience. Great for a quick night stay or two, but might feel cramped longer than that.

Very convenient for us in the heart of Maillag, the food at the pub was great, room clean and comfortable, we had to leave very early in the morning to get on the first ferry to Skye and the staff was very attentive to make sure that we had what we liked for our breakfast/lunch to take away with us! They gave us multiple choices and packed it carefully for us leaving it in a refrigerator close to our room so it was effortlessly easy to grab in the morning. We truly loved the place and had an amazing time! I wish we had one more night!
Thank you all at Chlachain inn, I’d love to come back one day!

We stayed for 1 night for work and we had an excellent stay. The staff are the highlight of this place, super friendly, welcoming and professional. Food was soooo good and lots of local options, very reasonably priced and the bar/restaurant and rooms were immaculately cleaned. We had the room with the little outdoor balcony and that was a great bonus. Make sure you have cash as tips for the staff (service and food is so good you will want to tip!) can’t be added on card payment although you can pay your bill by card. Will definitely go back, outrageous value for money. Thanks for having us.

Sticky wooden surfaces. No hairdryer. Though we had reserved a table for dinner, we were consigned to bar area on battered seating and near exit to toilets.
Room was above the bar up steep , external concrete steps into a narrow, noisy corridor. The bar had a licence until 1a.m. so was blasting out music until then.

Very good for an overnight stay before catching a ferry. The menu and the quality of food at the evening meal was excellent. Croissants, coffee and cereal offered in the morning with hot food if requested.

All perfect, the chowder, was.the best ever eaten.
Staff fab, even when mad busy ran a case upstairs for us. They never stressed.
Some may have a little with the noise from downstairs stairs quite late but we were fine with it

Proper stay for a night or two. Very friendly welcome at the bar. Room was recently renovated with a good mattress and clean bathroom.
Improvement points: Hallway to the rooms smells to smoking. Service at breakfast could be improved, the lady seemed in a bad mood.

The room is really lovely, very calm and contemporary. I love the fact you have a kettle but you could also do with a fridge. Also because we had a balcony was a welcome bonus

Breakfast was great, a lot more generous that we were expecting.

The inn exceeded my expectations.

The only negative was that the front door made me feel vulnerable as it wasnt locked and the wind kept blowing it open during the night and anyone could walk in.

Clean, mostly comfortable room - the pillows were the only let down. We had a really lovely evening meal in the pub and very good breakfast. There was an unpleasant smell of smoke in the hallway outside our room
which was likely from the cigarette bin immediately outside.

This was a great find. A budget hotel with good breakfast, free car parking, easy access off the motorway, and easy to walk both into Glasgow City Centre or to The Riverside museum. Definitely looking at booking for the Commonwealth Games in 2026

Good value Inn in Mallaig. The room was small but functional and comfortable. Matress and shower very good.
The quality, value and service in the Inn itself was excellent, as was the included breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Although we enjoyed staying at the hotel it is important to realise that there is no on site parking, it seems there is normally street parking 50 metres up the road, not sure how it easy it would be to park \"in season\". Also you need to be aware that the rooms are up a steep flight of stairs, totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Saying that, the hotel is convenient to the port, the price is reasonable, the staff are friendly and the food in the bar is very good. The bar is underneath the rooms but we were not disturbed by any noises from below. There are also nice balconies which would be good in reasonable weather.

Great location for our early morning ferry to Skye however paper thin walls meant we barely slept. This was due to the loud football watchers in the pub below and next door shouting and cheering, followed by full volume music and singing(shouting) until around midnight (surprising on a Sunday evening) & another guest next door deciding to do shower karaoke. Lovely room and staff but lack of sleep ruined it I’m afraid

The bed was very uncomfortable. The puter door didnt close properly so caused a draft and made our bedroom door rattle constantly. Breakfast was very disappointing. The morning we left, our muffins which we had been given were actually mouldy.

Very cozy room and bed. Yea making facilities in room include mini fridge with two bottles of milk as well yoghurt and juice. Breakfast confined to packet of cereal and muffin due to Covid; I was looking forward to a hot breakfast. Pleasant staff.
