Shower head was broken and water went everywhere, they did fix it straight away though, tap leaked from the base when you used it. Bed was rock hard. Pillows were hard too. Steps into the pool are sharp stones so it hurts your feet walking in. Traffic noise. Restaurant closes at 6pm which is far too early.

On their hotel website they mention they have a gym, sauna and a shuttle to the beach. None of this is true or correct.

They don't replenish and restock the shampoo and shower gel. The rooms are really dirty even after they come in to clean them. The rooms need a huge upgrade. They also don't provide any entertainment or activities at the hotel, which I thought was really ofd and strange.

The front desk staff and the waiting staff at the pool are great and all of them are kind. The location is great. Very close to beach, nightclub, restaurants, shops. Etc

I realized that I booked a cost effective and reasonably priced hotel, but I would have paid double if there was a gym, sauna and if I had a TV that actually worked where you could see the screen.

The property is conveniently located, off a very busy, somewhat marginal road however, it is run down. The bedroom had a great AC and good water pressure- BUT- the BED was sooo hard it was worse than sleeping on the floor. Thanks god there’s a massage parlor right outside the property. The room also had a balcony door that did not close properly (mosquitos bitting us all night) and the shower liner barely kept water in the shower because it was sooo old and flimsy. The one good thing- was the sheets and towels were clean. Would not stay here again.

The staff were first rate, the property itself was a bit run down but for the price was great. Being a little away from Bangla road and the crowds were what I wanted but if you want to get there it’s a 15 minute walk. Overall I got to relax and explore. I got the bungalow so not sure what the basic rooms are like.

We stayed at this hotel about 10 years ago and always said we would go back, so we returned in November.
The hotel was very much as we remembered it, but was also being updated following COVID, when I would think they had had few guests and had been left to run down some what.
That said, each day workman were on side renovating the whole complex, this work was being done very quietly and with little use of power tools (we were almost unaware of there presence).
Our room was good with everything we needed and as advertised,. The A/C worked well and was pretty quiet. The bathroom was fine, although the bath was a little worn to the base and could do with re- coating or changing.
The pool and surrounding areas are lovely for relaxing and cooling off, with about a dozen sunbeds, brollies and tables.
There are quite a lot of steps and no lift, so would probably not suit anyone with mobility issues.
The staff are all brilliantly friendly and helpful, with pretty good English, nothing is too much trouble for them if you ask.
Breakfast is not a buffet but, you can have eggs anyway you like them with meats or salad, toast with jam, fruits and as much tea or coffee as you like and fruit juice, plus almost anything from the main menu, although some things are at extra cost.
The hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the beach and town centre, so is a quiet place, but is also close enough to bars and restaurants if you don't fancy the walk.
Enjoyed it so much, going again in November

We have just got back from a stay at the Club Bamboo which was very pleading. For our first few nights we stayed in a Duluxe Bungalow which was very nice however was open to mosquitos as well being woken up by the sun at the crack of dawn. We then shift to a Grand Deluxe Double room which was fantastic, we had a pool view and the room was clean and tidy with good working AC. The room was cleaned each day and the staff where very friendly and always helpful. Restaurant is a nice retreat with nice food at a reasonable price. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of Patong its about 15 mins from the beach or 200bht in a tuk tuk. Over all would stay again and would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of town.

First off I have to say that this property does have a few nice looking bungalows and I’m sure that some of the rooms in the hotel part are nice. On Expedia the pictures make the hotel look decent. This was not our experience. At check in we were greeted by a nice young girl. The check in part was fast and easy. The room that was given to us was a different story. The room that we had was B06. It was below one of the bungalows. It had a slight dungeon like feel. Once we got it the room we could see that it was quite outdated. The couch to the left of entrance was stained. The curtain rod over the front sliding door was falling off the ceiling. Two of the ceiling anchors had broke through the drywall, the latch for the door was not very secure(didn’t look safe). The bathroom was a mess the mirror was falling apart the sink was dingy, the ceiling falling apart in some places. I’m about 6’2” and if you were to take a shower your head would just about hit the ceiling. the bed was also a little disturbing. I took off some pillow cases and noticed the pillows were old moldy and has sweat stains on them. I could go on and on. Needless to say we immediately checked out and found a better hotel. Thanks Expedia. I’m probably out the money I spent on the place but it was worth the cost to get our of there!!!

Just stayed at bamboo first room they put me in the bathroom was horrible so wast happy about that , I also payed for a deluxe room which was certainly far from a deluxe room when I complained to management I found a very rude and arrogant non helpful an pure English spoken staff. She then went on to change to a room which the exact same condition as the first along with hot water in the bathroom being non existent as well as the sockets in the room being loose and dangerous. Additionally when I was checking out they give me a bill for water which I did not used however I already signed the form as usual you don’t expect to pay for something that I didn’t use . When trying to explain the situation to management they made no effort to listen and took in no information that I was saying and there attitude was you have signed so it is too late . Overall this hotel is in need of a refurbishment also the reception area when wanting to go too pool there is a large number of uneven steps which is stupid. On a positive note I would like to add that the restraunt staff and the other memberss of staff excluding mangament where great and very helpful

The staff were excellent, nothing was a bother to them.
Our room was cleaned everyday by Mr Mew, who excels at his job.

There are a lot of steps, so if elderly or infirm, that could be a problem but otherwise we had a great experience and would definitely stay there again.

I had read quite a few negative reviews about Club Bamboo, dirty, insects etc but we didn’t find any of the problems given in the reviews.

All in all, especially for the price paid it was a great hotel with the best staff.

A hidden gem.

The welcome and subsequent help from the reception was truly amazing.We loved the waterfall by the pool and the good breakfast in particular.Unfortunately I have a painful knee at present and did not find the steps easy but the staff did everything possible to assist including offering us a room next to the reception.The free shuttle to the beaaach wad very useful.

Everything was excellent except that there is no elevator and there can be alot of steps to take to get to your room. Rooms were cleaned everday and wonderfully done. I booked this room in May 2018 arrived Jan 2019 and they said they were overbooked. Would not accommodate us until 2 hours later and we had no place to go. Our 3 bedroom villa with private pool turned into a room with 2 beds, was filthy and the mattress were like sleeping on concrete. This hotel does have a nice pool area but the pool was tiny and shaded.

I got the wrong room the first night and no apology from the management after room swap. She was very rude about it and the room wasn't ready til 7pm which is ridiculous.

The hotel was located quite far from places to eat but was quiet and they offered daily shuttles to the beach. Good housekeeping and amazing shower and spa. But the front desk team could have been nicer.

A bargain price with happy, helpful staff. Comfortable room with great AC and bathroom with big bath and a shower over it. Balcony over looking banana trees. Many steps to get anywhere but keeps one fit! Clean free form pool with operating water fall. Buffet breakfast tended to be a bit cold as underneath heater often blew out. Tasty meals at very reasonable price for dinner. Shuttle service to beach but only 3 times a day.

It started not too well, Bamboo Club overbooked our room we booked months in advance, and only told us once we handed over our passports, signed the documents and left the deposit that the room up for offer for the 1 of 3 nights was a very low budget room, but free breakfast was to make-up for the trouble for the next 3 days...

PROS:
- The pool was fantastic, great environment to tan and relax poolside.
- Views were great, a lot better than most of the hotels / resorts we stayed at
- The chill out zone up near the reception was great to just relax and enjoy the view
- On-site Scooter Rentals was convenient
- Overbooked room

CONS:
- Majority of the tanning beds were broken, and just DIY fixed with a few screws and left over wood, and some not fixed at all
- Most of the equipment besides free weights and treadmills inside the gym were broken
- Rooms often smelt vulgar

Resort Not as advertised.....Bad and vindictive.

This was the worse hotel experience I have ever had. The room. Was bare, uncomfortable, ant infested and nothing like the photo in the advertisement. You asked my opinion after checking in. Once I virtually made these same comments, the young lady identify ING herself as a manager (name Wui I believe) was irritated as she offered to move me.I after gathering my things and following her she stated she had upgraded me initially so since I complained she was now moving me to the room I paid for....disgusting. I stayed 8 days here and 6 days at another of your hotels in Bangkok which was equally as misrepresented. My last night in country was supposed go be a hotel on the airport called Hostel. How was I to know it was o not a cube with no toilet nor shower facilities and only available to me for 4 hours. I ended up going to a hotel that was 4 times the cost. Bad experience all the way around on this trip.

The Hotel is Nice and Clean, but no Lift, so if you are elderly, then you have problem Climbing the Stairs, Staff were Nice and Helpful.The Day receptionist was very helpful, but the Night Clerk was Extremely Rude , was actually snapping at me and my wife.
The hotel staff helps you to take your Luggage up to your room when Checking in , but no help when Checking out, so you have to bring Luggage down the stairs ,by yourself, there is also a nice Pool in the Hotel

- location away from the busy of the main beach and main bar/restaurant strips
- pool small but pleasant

Cons
- bathroom - shower was leaking through the bottom of the sink which wet a lot of the floor, also because the drain wasn't positioned well in the bathroom for the water to flow. Reception weren't particularly helpful to fix or prevent further leaks, we compromised to ask for extra towels to manage the leak and wet floor ourselves, but often left unchained by room service, which created more smells of damp and calls regular enough to reception to request replacement towels (which didn't always come quickly, or large enough towels to help with the leaks despite asking for large ones to begin with)
- the toilet chain broke twice so that the toilet wouldn't flush.
- the continental breakfast set was nice, but my partner did not enjoy the American breakfast at all, particularly the meats. It was not pleasant so much so that we chose to not try anything on the menu for lunch or dinner.
- checkin was quick and amendities and services were not shown to us on the way to our room. The girl who checked us in spoke so fast that we had to ask her to repeat a number of things. And she walked to our room so fast that we weren't even sure how to get back to the entrance of the hotel a few moments later to go out for lunch
- shuttle bus to main beach strip was inconvenient. EG, departing at 12 and returning 1245, so if we wanted to stay longer, we wouldn't have to wait 445pm

Very tired hotel. Room was very damp, from water seeping through bathroom light from bathroom above us. On reporting this,a fuse and bulbs were changed twice, but water still dripped through for the weeks stay. Bathroom walls and ceiling covered in mould and terrible sewage smell. Room door hardly locked and Mosquitos were terrible. We had to stay in two other rooms over night due to no electricity, but made to return to our old one the following mornings.

Toilet was blocked and didn't flush - hotel staff didn't fix. Had to go to pool toilet. Had buy coffee from hotel every morning. Supplied satchels of coffee and sugar in room but never supplied milk or cups. Sheets and bedding were not changed when room was made up they just made the beds.

My stay was very enjoyable once again in well managed pleasant resort.The large sized rooms are very comfortable and clean. Has an eye pleasing garden setting with a nice pool and restaurant that serves delightful food. The staff are always very pleasantly polite and hard working. My stay on this occasion and as well as other stays here have been a very comfortable enjoyable relaxing holiday in Phuket. Will stay again here on my next holiday.

Quiet hotel - Disappointing and Needs improvement

Although, overall, my travelling companions and I enjoyed our stay here (probably due to ourselves, rather than the resort), there were a number of very disappointing flaws that made our stay less than comfortable. I understand this is a 3 star hotel (we weren't expecting a palace) - but I think the Expedia pics are very generous. We had been upgraded, so I'm concerned what room we would have received without it.

Facilities - Pool (although ageing) was wonderful.
Food - The a-la-carte menu was generally very good quality
Buffet Breakfast - No Pro's
Location - Quiet, reasonably secluded, but only 10 mins walk from the start of Patong's main street.

Cons:
Staff/Checkin - Archaic organisation and paper based form filling. Slow
Rooms - Tired, in need of a complete renovation. Bathroom was substandard - missing tiles, broken bathtub. Bed felt like it was springs covered with a sheet - very uncomfortable. Ants throughout rooms. Stained fabrics.
Facilities - Spa is very tired. Reception is very aged.
Buffet Breakfast - Very disappointing. Meagre options and amounts of food. All very poor quality. I only ate the buffet twice in 7 nights due to this.

Overall - would not stay here again - although the price was very reasonable.

The hotel is clean and exotic but a bit old, hotel staff were very helpful. However, there were a lot of mosquitos in the outdoor restaurant. I have to cover myself for dinner. The spa was crap, pillows stink and the lady didn't have much technique. She was also late for the appointment. Don't recommend at all for the spa.

Clean, cheap, some distance from beach

Some construction noise nearby which will presumably stop soon, not too much of a problem. The distance from the beach is actually an advantage I think. It is about half an hour walk in which is good exercise, and also means it is much quieter than locations closer in.

Hotel was good for a budget hotel (clean)

Hotel was good on a budget, it was clean just a little tired. It was a little too far to walk to shops etc, therefore taxi needed to go anywhere. It did have a shuttle that ran 3 times a day which was good if you could plan your day around those times.

This hotel was good for its price, you do need a scooter as walking to main attractions of patong is not that close by, breakfast was great for eggs which are freshly cooked while you wait. The pool is also great, and the rooms are decent.
For the money paid I would stay again

Good for the price

Overall I was more than satisfied. It was cheap and pretty comfortable although a little run down. I would stay there again.

I am not sure why they don't have a handiman because many of the repairs required don't require many skills. For example, the basin tap was completely loose, but working, and the latch was missing from the door, and the veranda doors didn't close completely so mosquitoes could come in, although it wasn't a problem. Also,there seemed to at least one large ant colony in the walls because the trail led to the carving hanging above the bed. All these issues could be easily fixed by a handiman.

I had the buffer breakfast one day which was nice. Although the staff are pretty good, generally, I think they could do with a new cook. It is not bad, but pretty average food. 3 minutes walk from the hotel is a place called Nanai steak house and their food was amazing.

The views are certainly nothing to put on a postcard, but I did have a view towards the city.

I ordered room service food twice at Bamboo. The first time everything went well, but the second time I just ordered a club sandwich and they said it would take 20 minutes, but after 20+ minutes I called and they said they were busy and they would hurry and it would be another 15 minutes. I cancelled my order and passed the hotel restaurant on the way out and noted that it was completely empty.

Most of the reception staff were very polite and helpful.

I use to stay here often. Haven't been in about 8 years......use to be nice and clean and well kept. They added a building with rooms that aren't as nice as the old rooms. But if you want something cheap it is ok....fair walk to beach and a small pool. Also had a huge coach roach.....but that always can't be helped

Beautiful tropical resort

Great experience, 20 min walk from patong beach or 5 min tuk tuk. Nice and quiet away from noisy Patong beach. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Stayed in bungalow with two friends, our room was right next to pool side. The breakfast buffet varied most days, beers and cocktails were cheap. Overall like your staying in a tropical oasis. Would be happy to stay again

Excellent choice for the price!!

Great wifi, fitness room was great and the pool area was very clean. The breakfast is cheap with plenty of options. They give you fresh eggs any way you want!! Bed is very comfortable and the ac is strong. Are is decent, kind of loud at night and you aren't very close to many things. Plus this hotel is higher up on a mountain so there is a good amount of walking. I had a problem with ants because we had food in the room so be weary of that. Just put everything in the mini bar fridge.

Nice hotel at a very pieceful locality....good archetechture design...but other amenities like bike on rent, taxi service and islands tour were quite expensive when we compared with nearby agents. All staff except at reception were not able to understand English.

Great Staff! (But that's it...)

This hotel is a bit of a long walk from the beach or the rest of town. It's about 15 minutes, which amounts to about 50 times random people will ask you if you want a tuk-tuk, massage, tattoo, or suit while walking to the ocean. Also, my room smelled faintly of sewage (got used to it) and the bed was very hard (didn't get used to that). The wi-fi internet would work for about 2 seconds every hour, but when I complained about that to the staff they let me use the lobby computer for free.Which brings me to the best part of this hotel: the staff was extremely helpful, kind, and understanding. They almost made the stay at the hotel worth it.

Great location and ambiance

I stayed here with two friends while we were on a 3 week trip through SE Asia. We had booked two nights originally and ended up staying a third. The hotel is perfectly located if you want to be a little away (10 minute walk to beach) from the craziness of Bangala Street but still able to get there quickly. It was a cheap tuk-tuk ride home at night or a short walk in the day. The hotel is very well decorated and gives a jungle feel. There is no elevator so beware...the staff will carry your bags but you will climb some stairs coming in and out. hHeir restaurant had a great breakfast and good menu for the rest of the day. One night we hung out there because of the rain and had a great time. Staff was fabulous. Room was clean. Would highly recommend it!

Needs some TLC

Average hotel that needs upgrading, however when your only paying £20 a night what do you expect and that's what we had to remember. The hotel pictures advertised looked lovely but these are obviously old pictures. Rooms were basic but clean and need refurbing, breakfast wasn't great with not a lot of choice, prices of drinks were expensive so you would avoid buying your from there. So all in all we were disappointed really and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good hotel away from the main tourist areas.

This hotel has many good features, and I would find it difficult to say anything too bad about it.
The hotel is a little way away from the manic areas where the nightlife is, about a 20 minute stroll to the beach and main tourist locations. Although there is a great deal of development in the Patong area, so I would think it may not be too long before even this hotel is engulfed by the endless nightlife of the ever expanding resort.
There is a free shuttle to and from the beach which runs about four times a day, very usefull if you don't fancy the walk.
The staff at the hotel are all very friendly, and go out of their way to assist you whenever they can. Our room was classed as a superior, which in fact is their lowest class of room, but even this had all the facilities of the other rooms, it was just a little smaller and away from the pool and dining area.
The hotel is built on a small hillside, so one thing which may put people off is the number of steps, there is no lift.

Rustic charm

Located away from the busy part of Patong. Lot of steps, so you need to be fairly fit. Different from othet modern hotels, but with a lot of charm. Bit noisy during the day due to building site next door and at night laud music can be heard (quite pleasent if you do not mind this kind of noise).

Beds not confortable, Location not clean

I stayed at club Bamboo during my trip to Phuket but we did not find it the best place to be. The hotel surrounding is very dirty, there are no tooth brush or paste and had to purchase same from hotel. The beds are too hard, the Balcony is actually broken and the view was the worse ever, there is a water dump and dirt all around the hotel. The breakfast was awful and there is basically no choice of food, the staff want to be helpful but they don;t seem to have a good management to guide them I don;t recommend staying at this hotel.
