This was our second time staying here and we love it. The room was spacious as was the bathroom, and very clean. It's a smaller hotel and we like that. Breakfast was served daily - if you buy that option - and it was delicious, eggs, meat options, french toast sometimes pancakes and of course fry bread!! Fresh coffee, juice and fruits. The pool is smaller but feels refreshing on a hot day. Everyone on the staff is great, very kind and helpful. The property is kept up daily. Thank you again!

It is an older hotel, so that was a bit of a shocker for us at first. But the location was great and after the receptionist changed our rooms we were quite happy, we got a bigger room with a smaller shower, (not to small) and shady outside sitting area, we were quite happy. The room and bathroom were clean, and because we only stayed 2 days we did not need the room-service. They did bring beach towels and emptied garbage. The breakfast was good and plenty, People lovely, and a superb location.

This was our second time staying at Caribbean Shores. It's clean, comfortable, and the setting is very relaxing. The hot water wasn't working properly in our shower, but it was at least warmer than the solar showers where we stayed prior. Everything is relative. :). This property is a little ways out of Hopkins Village proper, but there are restaurants in short walking distance. It's also not on the beach, but we weren't looking for that since we liked the location for access to Bocawina/Mayflower, the Jaguar Preserve, and other sites.

Comfy and friendly

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and good. The grounds are well maintained and just a shortwalk down the trail, you are at the beach!

I have been to this property 3 times now. The first and second time everything was clean and service was great. This time around was not. The bathrooms had mold on the shower wall and the floor grout was black. The refrigerator door was so caked with grease and dirt it came off on your hand when you opened the door. The utensils were greasy too. When I went to grab forks, I had to wash my hands due to the grease I guess that were all over them. The ice machine was broken so we were offered 1 ice cube tray for 6 people. There were no amenities. No hair dryer, no shampoo, no conditioner,
no tissues or lotion. We had one towel and wash cloth a piece and were not given or offered any more. Our trash was not emptied while we were there. When we drove by 2 days later the bag was still sitting outside. We ended up leaving once another place had availability.

The staff are excellent. They go above and beyond. The condition of the property needs maintenance but thats a owner problem. The breakfasts and the interior rooms are what gives this place its 5 stars. The willingness of the staffto help is like no where else. Highly recommend if you like your independence on a holiday.

Nice, quiet place to stay in Hopkins

Nice place to stay in Hopkins. Staff are very friendly. The rooms (we had to swritch rooms) are super clean. Pool was also very clean. Other parts of the grounds are a bit tired. The breakfast was okay, but lacked variety. Coffee was terrible; but I coffee was terrible everywhere we stayed in Belize.

The room was surprisingly nice and they provided breakfast (eggs, beans, tortilla & sausage) but the pool was too cold to swim. To get to the beach, you needed to walk thru another resort's premises but it wasn't far. They had bikes on the premises that we could use. Mine was decent but the bike my husband used was in bad shape. Instead of a desk they had an extra bed. Office doesn't open until 9 AM so if you want to check out early or need use of the bikes, etc. before then, make prior arrangements.

Really nice well kept old building, classic architecture with a lot of charm. The entire staff is fantastic Georgina makes you breakfast every morning always perfect. Extremely helpful other travelers were very friendly. The pool is immaculate. It is by far the best place for the dollar in Hopkins

The pool was nice but jacuzzi was broken. The ac in the bedroom was broken. Dead lizard on bed. Nobody there at check in had to wait over half hour for some one. Beach was inaccessible fenced off had to ask permission from next resort. The breakfast was nice. Staff was friendly.

After two nights in some sub-par rooms near Belize City, Caribbean Shores felt like a luxury stay. A few minor things need attention, but overall, this place was clean with very nice amenities in the room. Georgia, the cook, was delightful and made delicious breakfasts. It was a short walk to the beach, a few minutes drive to the main part of town, and we enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool after a hot day of jungle hiking. We would definitely stay here again.

We checked in after a long, exhausting day of travel. Caribbean Shores was exactly what we needed. The shower was excellent, and the bed was so comfy. The Macaw room was perfect. In the morning, the birds were singing while we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with perfect cinnamon rolls. Thank you Caribbean Shores for being everything we needed and more!

Our room was ground level and dark. We had two cockroaches in the bathroom to deal with. Staff were very disinterested in us as guests, couldn’t find reservation through Hotels.Com, breakfast mediocre at best and check out again disinterested/rude staff. Would not stay again.

We really enjoyed Cleo and Georgia who cooked breakfast every morning. They were always engaging and a wealth of knowledge. Also the guy that runs the Italian restaurant was an excellent cook.

The only thing that was a challenge was the communication with the management about arriving after 6 p.m. but this was partially on me having been really my first trip outside the USA and understanding how things work.

Hopkins is a quaint Garifuna fishing village in southern Belize. It has beautiful beaches, but the sand fleas are awful. At the B&B, . I had to report several issues to the staff 3 days in a row that there is “something” in my room that is biting and stinging me all night. I had welts on my arms and legs and I noticed it most when trying to sleep. I didn’t sleep for 4 nights before I was switched to a different room. Carla does the cooking and cleaning the rooms and she is super!!!
Iwas also out of soap, toilet paper, towels and needed the room to be cleaned and sprayed for bugs. I have never stayed at a hotel where my trash wasn’t emptied, the room cleaned or my bed at least shaken out every day I think I requested a partial refund for 4 days and didn’t get a refund. . Because of Carla. I really didn’t want to give them a less than good review, but I thought I should warn people.
Finally, the “stairs” to the office are shaky cinder blocks, which were ugly and dangerous.

Awesome staff! They are so friendly and accommodating. Make you feel like a family member coming for a visit. Room and accommodations are what you would expect at a bed and breakfast, in a village. The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious. When we return to Hopkins, this the only place we would think of staying.

We experienced a very enjoyable stay at Caribbean Shores. It is well-maintained, the staffing is wonderful and knowledgeable, and the facility is conveniently located to the beach, great restaurants, and attractions.

Particularly notable was the staff. All were extremely friendly and helpful. We had to leave early on our last day and would have missed breakfast, but the cook prepared us some fresh banana bread and left coffee ready to be brewed. We also had an air conditioner malfunction one night; the manager was prompt to take action, despite the late hour. She also arranged various tours for us during the week and helped us find a medical clinic for a traveling companion who needed care. Can't say enough about the staff.

The facilities were clean and comfortable. Caribbean Shores is not right on the beach, but a 2 minute walk gets one there. There is a well-maintained pool on site, as well.

Breakfasts were tasty and hearty and served with ample coffee. Rooms were clean and functional. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance, and a short drive into Hopkins Village provided even more choices with many small locally-run eateries. The Barracuda Bar and Grill, Maxim's, Driftwood Bar and Pizza Shack, and the Lucky Lobster were especially good.

All in all we very much enjoyed our stay in Hopkins and would definitely return to Caribbean Shores.

Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was nice; recently renovated. Great common area, nice pool, short walk to the beach which was great. Breakfast was included and was terrific. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hopkins. Roads in and around Hopkins are being repaired so that should no longer be an issue

Pleasant stay at Caribbean Shores

Caribbean Shores had very pleasant staff, great breakfast, nice, clean rooms. Beds were a little too soft. It is not on the ocean but you have easy access to nice,long beachfront through nearby resort. It is a good distance from Hopkins Village but bicycles are available to get you there. You can also rent golf carts nearby or use taxi. Swimming pool was nice.

Clean, modern, affordable place near the sea

The bed and breakfast is modern, comfortable and clean. We loved the breakfast that they provided! The staff was friendly and very anxious to please the guests. You can’t see the sea from the resort but it is a short walk to the beautiful white sands of the Caribbean.
On the down side, the internet service is pretty sketchy and cell coverage is not good for those using Digicell. The road from Hopkins to the resorts area was horrible; in one place it was so bad that even 4 wheel drive vehicles passed with difficulty. With the exception of the internet, none of these are the fault of Caribbean Shores. The staff thought that all the resorts would band together and improve the road by January, 2018. We hope so. It is an economical place to stay in beautiful surroundings if you can stand the drive to get there.

I'd stay here again

It was a very comfortable stay. The staff are VERY nice (all Belizeans in general). The pool is open all the time; there are lights at night. If you prefer the ocean, it's almost literally their backyard. There's something (good) in the water. Our skin felt better after every shower.

The breakfast and Wi-Fi could be better, however. I rarely connected onto their network. I'd bum off of an unprotected network called \"Chicken Shack.\" The road is rough around these parts, and the hotel is a bit away from the main road. But there are many eateries outside and on the way (we tried lobster at Lucky Lobster and were not disappointed). Free bikes for exploring around!

Breakfast!

The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom spacious but the breakfasts were great! It was always more than I could really eat and of course made while we waited. A very pleasant place.
