From the moment we arrived at Jaguar Reef we loved the resort. The rooms felt like our own little sanctuary. I loved the plunge pool and outdoor shower. So private and with so much space of our own. We never had a problem finding chairs at the beach or pool. Everything at the resort was very clean. The grounds were beautifully groomed. And the staff was amazing! Kayla made us feel so welcome and made sure our room was always taken care of. And Lucas and Martin took such good care of us at the bar. We appreciated how they always knew what we wanted.
After walking into the village one day,and regretting every minute in the heat...we rented a a golf cart straight from Jaguar reef, which was super easy and convenient, thanks to Greg.

We would definitely come again!

Almond Beach Resort exceeded our every expectation! It was our last stay during our trip to Belize and we felt pampered and spoiled.

The staff were fantastic (kind and friendly), we felt safe and the property was well taken care of. The pools were clean and the space never felt crowded. We enjoyed early sunrises on the pier and the kids enjoyed swimming and watching the fish from the pier. Definitely a highlight feature! We enjoyed the complimentary kayaks and paddleboards too. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay and are already considering returning....which we rarely do! 5 stars for us!

Our room was gorgeous. We had our own balcony and actually had two rooms in our suite the staff and the food and the ocean or just stunning. Had quite a bit of a problem with the sand flies. As soon as I stepped on the sand I was covered my legs were covered and bitten. Otherwise I would’ve given it a five. Linda Boyes.

Toilet wasn't flushing well when used. Refill was super slow in the mahogony suite vs the JBS. one of the AC remote was not functional. I was a little disappointed with that but oh well. I messaged staff but they said that they had it fixed. I had to wait 20-30 minutes before the toilet can refill so I can do my business. oh well...

We had booked a deluxe room with plunge pool for our 5 day stay, however upon arrival, our plunge pool seemed to have a leak and could not be fixed during our stay. Needless to say, we were disappointed that we had to pay for something we couldn’t use. The hotel and amenities were great. One comment is the rooms could use a place to put bags/clothes away such as a dresser and a luggage rack would have been nice. The resort was very clean and it was so nice to have the main dock right there to watch sunrises/sunsets and to swim off.

The food at the resort restaurant (The Paddle House) was good, but overpriced in my opinion. That said, everything else about the resort was excellent - staff were first-rate, my particular room (Sandia) was incredible, the resort spaces (including the beach itself) were impeccable, the snorkelling trip the resort organized was great, and I even saw a manatee one morning out on the ocean on my own while using one of the complementary kayaks the resort had available. I would absolutely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here and really enjoyed our vacation. The room was wonderful and very close to the sea, with an incredible view of the water right from the bed. We loved the sun loungers on the patio where you can relax throughout the day and take occasional swims in the sea.

The staff were friendly and supportive, and we appreciated being able to communicate through WhatsApp. The restaurant was tasty, though a bit expensive. It would be nice to have more grilled options and fresh vegetables on the menu.

The staff at this property was incredible- they learned me and my son’s name by day two of our stay- and they were on top of everything. The resort offers free bikes and kayaks, loved that. Food at the restaurant was good, ceviche at dock bar was outstanding. Overall, property and room were clean. Unexpected treat was the fire pit with s’mores for the kids nightly. Highly recommend staying here.

This resort was amazing! All of the staff was so welcoming especially Captain Larry, Alex, Mark, Big Sexxxy and all the others whos names I can't remember even though they all knew my name and would greet me everytime I saw them. The Snorkeling and Bioluminescent tours were outstanding. The room and food was top notch. My only concern was the leaves constantly falling in the outdoor shower and private plunge pool, but there's not much the resort could do to fix that. Amazing vacation and I'll be back for sure!

This property is actually part of Jaguar Reef (a total of 3 resorts) with 2 pools, multiple bars, food options and the amazing dock bar. We had such a fantastic time here. It was relaxing, but also there are plenty of activity options to book if you want to fill your day. Our room was top notch and felt luxurious. We can't say enough nice things about the staff. They took great care of us, learned out names, and made us feel at home. The staff and the people of Belize in general, are such beautiful, kind, human beings. We are already talking about going back!

Quick points about our stay here in the Kinep room

Bathroom lighting is very dim, it has the only mirror in the room, the bathroom window, which faces the pool, does not have a shade on it.

No TV in the room. Normally not a big deal but because we were hoping to watch the NCAA tournament, it was disappointing because there was no place on property to watch.

Bed was very uncomfortable. I think it was just a mattress on a piece of plywood in a frame. One of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever tried to sleep on.

The door to the outdoor shower/back entrance had a broken latch so it couldn't be locked.

The room does have it's own water cooler/dispenser which was very nice to have.

The room is steps from the beach and right next to the pool, which is a great spot. Only downside is you can hear EVERYTHING the workers are saying in the morning when they're near the pool.

The staff, in general, were very cordial and accommodating. Captain Larry, Jerry and Stephen (bartenders), and Chris (concierge) were great.

The resort partners with a group called Marla's house of hope for any donations guests what to bring/buy/leave. We brought a number of items and put it in a backpack for them to deliver to Marla's. When I dropped it off, the person at the front desk asked if they could have the backpack. I found out later that they took the backpack and told other staff to take whatever they wanted. Disappointing. Be aware of this if you're thinking of donating anything.

Our stay was March 16-23rd. Two adults and an 11 year old. We stayed in the Deluxe Garden View room which actually had a very nice view of the ocean and was also a suite of two bedrooms, so our daughter had her own room which made her very happy and comfy. The room was beautiful throughout.
The staff got to know our names quickly and it very like home by day two.
The resort was full but the pool was never really crowded nor was the beach. There were many times where felt like the only people at the resort. The restaurant and bars available on the property were great. The dock had a really cool spot for seeing fish at night. Our daughter loved it. The beach and water were really nice though there was a sargasm mess for a few days. It didn’t hamper our fun.
Hopkins village is loaded with food spots. Our two favourites were Ellas Cool Spot & Nice Cream Ice Cream Shoppe. We rented a golf cart for the week which made it easy to get around town.
We took a tour to Xunantunich which was amazing and also went on a half-day fishing excursion which was also crazy cool. We caught a barracuda and numerous snapper.
A truly perfect week for us. Weather was exactly as forecast with no surprises.
I highly recommend this place. We spent a bit more than expected while there but it was definitely worth it.

The Almond Beach by Jaguar Reef was a beautiful little resort in Hopkins. Very quiet and a little out of the main town. Great for relaxation. The only issue we had was the water wasn’t working in my building for most of the afternoon on our second day. This made it difficult to shower or use the facilities, all was rectified around dinner time and the resort was nice enough to offer a free bottle of wine to our room for the inconveniences. A little note, that the resort should supply cutlery, napkins and extra plates if you are doing takeout to your room from the pizzeria restaurant.

Food was ok
Beach had a lot of garbage wash up every day that wasn’t really cleaned up well. They had one guy picking up washed up garbage and 7 guys raking sand. I wish the beach would’ve had the same amount of attention as the grounds.
I would recommend getting a golf cart as the village with lots of great places to visit is about 2 miles away.

Came for a Christmas getaway to relax on the beach and escape the North American style holiday. Unfortunately we got to hear ths same North American music on repeat over dinner which really killed the vivlbe we came for. The resort seems to be trying to make North Americans feel at home not realizing we want to come here for Belizean beaxh vibes and culture. The food at the paddle house is excellent, the ceviche at the dock is fresh and the garlic shrimp at don tonitos is spectacular. If ever booking again we would try to stay at the main resort vs the house suites across the road. It didnt feel very safe as we had some raucous visitors on night three which scared the kids leaving us sleepless through the night.
Overall a beautiful place but as we spent about $2000 cad a day there, it definitley was not worth the money

My wife and I stayed May 6 through May 11th at Almond Beach and had the beach cottage. We loved being steps from the beach with our own deck. The room was large and inviting. We used our outside shower the entire time preferring the breeze and sound of the ocean day and night. The ceiling fan didn’t work and the housekeeper brought us a stand up fan which was great. The Nespresso machine didn’t work and after some trial and error a maintenance worker got one to work. The doorknob was quirky with the key, probably should just replace it.
We loved the Dock Bar day and night. Lucas was a great bartender and nice guy there. Pool was nice and Cliff at bartending services there was a cool guy. Grounds are beautiful. Saw the landscaping guy trim a hedge neatly with a machete. Pretty cool. They had a pit fire at night that had marshmallows in a jar for toasting.
The restaurant was nice and airy. The food was okay. Favorite meal was special snapper with a chipotle glaze one day and had a great Mestizo black soup another. There is a resort fee on food and drinks to be aware of. All staff members are great and friendly as well as attentive. We ate outside walking distance to Tandoori which has a great butter chicken. As well as the other restaurant next door for some great curry. There are sometimes blackouts which we were aware of and packed headlamps. Shout out to Vanessa w/ guest service and lady Verne. Staff makes this place magical.

My friend and I booked a stay at “Muna” guest house for this stay. The house was very beautiful and had all amenities you would need! However, when booking, it did not seem to specify in an obvious way that this house would be off of the resort (about a 3-5 minute walk) so this surprised us. Even though it is off the resort you still can use all resort amenities though. Other than that, the guest house was clean, quiet, and beautiful with tons of birds and wildlife around.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the staff was very friendly. It’s 4 hotels that share amenities but nothing was ever crowded. There is one swim up bar/ pool and one restaurant for everyone to share but food and drinks were very good. Prices are reasonable especially for a resort. There are plenty of places near by to eat and drink at you can either walk or rent a golf cart. While we were there the water pressure was real weak and WiFi was down but they did offer us a credit.

Fabulous resort in the charming, quiet, friendly village of Hopkins. Almond Beach Resort has everything you need and nothing that you don't. Our beachfront cabin was truly special, the main restaurant and bar is stunning and the food excellent. Friendly and helpful staff make you feel at home. Amenities are excellent. The Big Dock bar and ceviche bar are a wonderful feature. Borrow bikes and pedal into the village for lunch.

We will return to this little gem!

I am a woman solo traveler and felt genuinely comfortable on the resort. The staff are unbelievably kind. Captain Larry worked at the resort and he was funny and kind. Lance worked at the Paddlehouse restaurant and his customer service skills are extraordinary. The room and resort looked even more gorgeous in person. Please plan a trip to Almond Beach!

Fantastic hotel and facilities. All the different places (Almond Beach, Jaguar Reef, Colonial Inn) are effectively clustered together as the same resort with the same facilities i.e pool, restaurant, bar. The Dock Bar is especially great, at the end of the pier overlooking the water you can get great cocktails and fresh cerviche. There’s also a pool bar and jacuzzi. The rooms were also great, nice and big, spacious and clean, with Belizean ornaments to make you feel part of the culture. We also loved that bikes are free for a short ride into Hopkins for other bars, restaurants and the supermarket. Overall one of our best every stays

Local food places do deliver to the resort and there are a lot of food options around the resort! Very clean and we didn’t utilize the pools but they were clean. The restaurant, bar, and maintenance staff was so friendly and helpful! The girl at the front desk was not. My phone was broken the entire time I was there and she did nothing to help. I had to go talk to her three times before she actually sent someone to my room. I also asked for house keeping to come by and they never sent them until the day before I left and that was just because I went back down to the front desk and asked a different person that was not her.

Due to the virus hotel was not completely open they did make the best of what was open. The Room I booked through Expedia was closed which was disappointing they did give me a very nice Room to make up for it and credit on my account. The girl at the reception desk Odalis could not have been nicer or more helpful. My review would probably be different if she was not there. One of those employees you don't let get away

The transportation service to and from BZE was horrible. We were told of a 12:30 shuttle and one never arrived. We even paid extra upgrade charges on Southwest airlines to ensure we would be outside of airport for the 12:30 shuttle. When we arrived we were told by the shuttle driver who was 2 HOUR LATE, that he was the 3:30pm shuttle and no one told him we would be here at 12:30pm (even though travel times were shared when booking). And since no one told him we were going to be there he went shopping. After he arrived late, we then had to wait an additional hour for the next group of travelers to arrive by plane. They do not share this information: YOU WILL HAVE A SHARED SHUTTLE AND IT WILL MAKE AS MANY STOPS AS THEY HAVE TO FOR OTHER GUEST. It is not a private shuttle and you will pay over $200 for it. You are better off taking a taxi for only $20 more. A taxi will be there at your set time and you will not have to wait 2 HOURS for your schedule shuttle to arrive. Staff was friendly once on resort. Our favorite was Walter at the pool bar. He was wonderful!

Perfect place to stay in Hopkins

Almond Beach Resort was a perfect place to stay for 2 nights while visiting our friends in Hopkins. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with nice decor. The pool was right outside our door and the beach was only steps from the pool. Breakfast and lunch were very good and the Happy Hour drink specials were great. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. And the price we paid was very reasonable compared to other similar resorts we stayed at in Belize.

The cabana hut on the beach was perfect! The food is great on and off the resort and all the staff is excellent. Good choice of activities on and off the resort. Close enough to town to walk or rent bikes or a golf cart or a taxi. The sand fleas were the worst but of course that cannot be helped. It is hot and very humid but if you can do activities near a water source as it was good to dip yourself or able to take a break in the shade and enjoy a cold beer :).

Great place, not the warmest welcomes

The place is beautiful, no doubt. Gorgeous setting on the sea, palm trees and hammocks. However, I was turned off from the minute I arrived at check-in. I arrived a day earlier than my group and booked the same type of room so I could unpack once and not have to move rooms. I had called to confirm that was okay. When I arrived, I was told I'd have to move. Fine. Not very cool, but fine. But what really rubbed me the wrong way---they would not let me take my luggage wtih me to my room. A small carry on bag. Literally took it from my hand. I had my heavy laptop backpack on it so I didn't have to put that on my back, but they took the roller bag, yet didn't mind seeing me schlep the backpack by myself. I waited in the room 10 minutes (no phones in the rooms to call for status) then walked back to reception and voila...bag still sitting there where I was forced to leave it. Seriously? I don't mind letting people do their jobs, but then deliver! It just felt rude and unnecessary and their attitude was \"Well, you're on vacation.\" I am actually working, and wanted my bag for personal reasons for which I didn't owe an explanation. Needless to say, it spoiled day one. Luckily I have two more days to enjoy the beautiful setting. And FYI, since there are no phones in the rooms, I will now have to carry my bag and backpack to the lobby to change rooms.

Loved the whole experience. The staff, accomodations, food, etc couldnt be better. Loved the beach, pool over looking the beach, the free activities (kayaking, paddle boarding, rope swing to name a few). One of the best places in the world for snorkeling and diving. Great excursions available.

This place was amazing! The staff, rooms, property, and everything else was great. The food for each meal during the days were delicious. The pool areas were clean with quick service. Beachfront with plenty of seating. Excursions were available to book for great prices right on the property and the spa was also very nice with affordable prices.

Great location to relax, but also has many activities, organized by the hotel staff. Snorkeling is really good, and the jungle adventures are also lots of fun. Food was quite good, although it would be good to add some spicyness to it.

The staff here was excellent!! everyone was friendly and helpful. They really made you feel spoiled! I especially loved the bartenders Persinnio and Marvin! The manager of the restaurant Charlie was also great as well as Elvin! everyone here works very hard to make sure you have a great time. The dock bar was breathtakingly beautiful and the villas made you feel like a rock star. My only complaint was that we had to cancel a snorkeling tour because I got sick and they wouldn't waive the cancellation fee. I was pretty bummed about not being able to go, and that made me feel worse. Trust me if people are sick to their stomach you probably dont want them on your boat in the hot sun anyway. Other than that I highly recommend checking this place out especially during the low season cause you essentially have the place to yourself and get to know the staff. I felt like we had great conversations with the people who worked here and made some real connections! I'll for sure be back one day!

Our stay at the Almond Beach Resort was pretty incredible from the moment we arrived. They are limited on parking but aside from that, their staff are all very friendly and always helpful. The room with the plunge pool was amazing, great layout, great view which we were worried about since we didn't get a beach side room. We were still able to see the pool and the ocean from our door at the Starfruit. The property was well maintained daily, and the sitting areas were perfect. This resort exceeded our expectations and would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the Hopkins area.

Great place to relax!

Is a very nice relaxing place but so is all of the area of Hopkins..very nice staff...food is ok, both desserts we got, the rum cake and choc cake were dried out and terrible..I would recommend Hamanasi or Love on the Rocks that cook your dinner on hot stone or Belizean Dreams for food..the Gazeebo Bar called Big Dock at Almond Beach was a huge plus for having drinks over the water and appetizers.
