Every single person we met was so kind and caring. They arranged transport from Belize city to the hotel and the concierge was so worried we wouldn’t arrive in time he messaged our driver to get our order so food was available upon our arrival. He went above and beyond so many times.

Only one night for us, but enjoyed the resort. We arrived 2.5 hours before check in, but they provided us complimentary drinks so we went to the restaurant/bar and met King, the bartender. Really enjoyed our drinks while we chatted with him and he provided a recommendation to go visit the local chocolate company about 15 min away, which worked out for us.
We were in the 1 BR, which is the upstairs of each building. Great space with a balcony looking out to the sea. Food was excellent in the restaurant and plenty of workers taking care of the grounds. Note - Sargassum was heavy - washed up in piles and still floating off the edge of the beach. The next morning they were working to clear the beach, but we were only there the one night. Nice touch was the robes in the room for use!

Note - No ice machines available but was able to get some for our cooler from the restaurant before we hit the road.

Before I left for Belize, I was in a dark place. I booked this trip as a last-ditch effort to find some peace of mind, and looking back, it was the best decision I could’ve made. I originally planned to stay somewhere else, but when that resort was fully booked, I landed here instead—and I truly believe everything happens for a reason.

From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, safe, and cared for. I met some incredible people who I can’t even call staff—they felt like friends. Michelle, Wilber, King, Kobe, Tanisha—everyone was so kind, and once they found out I was traveling solo, they always checked on me. Michelle even helped me find someone to do my hair! Their warmth made my stay unforgettable.

About Hopkins Village:
This isn’t just a place to visit; it’s a place to experience. Everyone smiles at you, everyone is kind—just make sure you’re kind back. It’s a humble beachside village full of love, culture, and flavor, and that’s what makes it special.

A Few Things to Know:
🔹 No full-length mirror in my room—something to keep in mind if that matters to you.
🔹 The restaurant closes about an hour after check-in (around 4:30 PM), so if you’re arriving late, grab some food beforehand or wait until dinner at 6.

Other than that, this stay was exactly what I needed. If you’re looking for a resort where you’re treated like family, where the people truly care, and where you can reconnect with yourself in a beautiful, peaceful setting, this is the place.

Hopkins Bay Resort is an exquisite property, one of the finest we have enjoyed in our travels. From check-in to departure, the staff elevated every experience. Rooms are beautiful, the setting breathtaking, the facilities and grounds wonderful, the dining a real pleasure. From our greeting by the ladies at the front desk and Cass at our welcome, to King and Amalda at the restaurant, everyone and everything about this resort makes us want to return again and again.

We loved our stay here. All our rooms in the bungalow had floor ceiling glass doors and had beautiful ocean views. Staff was courteous. The only issue was the restaurant menu had limited choices for vegetarians so we didn't eat there much.

Nice resort. Our room was just steps away from the ocean. Beach is nice and suits are quite spacious. Rooms need little updating as some of the furniture is showings its age. Next resort restaurant has just around the corner, which made it pretty convenient. The ocean was quite calm. But we had some sand flies problem which bit us while we lounged on the patio.

Hopkins is a sweet town in Belize close to the beaches and the jungle. Hopkins Bay is a stunning property. Most of the staff was kind, super shout out to Wilbur the bartender for making our stay so delightful. We stayed in a beachfront three bedroom villa and had plenty of room for our 4 children to spread out. Great access to pool and restaurant and most of the people of Belize are so welcoming and kind. I will say, it does take a lot of travel to get around to excursions (Mayan Ruins are about 2 hours away and good snorkeling is about a 35 minute boat ride) but experiencing the Culture and Beauty of Hopkins was certainly an amazing experience!

Very nice stay at Hopkins Bay. We traveled all over S. Belize so Hopkins was a great choice. Staff all over resort were friendly and helpful. The Rhum Shack restaurant had really good food though you couldn’t select lunch items for dinner making the menu very basic.
Not resort issue but bring deet or something to help with sand fleas- we got eaten alive

The property was nice. Staff was nice. It was down season so not much to do there. Did visit alot of nice resturants. I would suggest you get a car rental to get to places. We had to take a taxi multiple times throughout the day. They had drums on Saturday night that was amazing! I would suggest they have more entertainment since it was down season that would be nice for the guests to enjoy every night.

The resort was not only a beautiful property, but it also included things like bicycles, canoes, and games, which meant there was plenty to do! They offered optional adventures at an additional cost; the one we tried—an evening hike at a nearby wildlife reserve, was great. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals at reasonable prices and the two pools were a good place to relax. On top of all that, the staff was friendly and helpful. We’d highly recommend the Hopkins Bay Resort!

If I had to choose a area that needed improvement it would be the housekeeping. The curtains in both rooms have not been dusted this year. When taken out the trash they left some behind in the kitchen. The paper towels ran out and they didn't replace them. The kleenex and toilet tissue in the bathroom as well was not replaced. The bathrooms were straighten up, but not cleaned. The floors were never swept. Every other area was good. The ladies in the front office where great, helpful, and did there jobs great.

The grounds were beautiful and well kept up. It was a small property so easy to walk around but spaced out so you didn't feel too close to other guests. They had fishing poles for our sons and even bate to use. we loved having the kayaks and life jackets right on the beach ready for our use and we used them! The restaurant was close and cozy and had great options.

the staff was amazing. We were a little concerned when we first arrived, but after getting to know the people and the area, we felt very much at home! a beautiful place. Chloe at the front desk was a rock star as was the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We would come back to Hopkins again! We loved the eco friendly concept, and the resort and staff were wonderful. The food at the Rhum Shack was exceptionally good, and our compliments to the chefs.
Our room was upgraded due to a birthday, which was appreciated. The beach was fantastic as were the pools.
Andrew was the Concierge, and our tour guide on a full day tour to the ruins and cave diving. He was excellent, knowledgeable, and very professional! We enjoyed the tours so much thanks to him.

The property was beautiful! We traveled with another family and our kids had an amazing time. We rented an entire unit (3 bedroom) that was right on the ocean which is handy with kids. We could sit on the porch and watch them while they were swimming or looking for sea creatures. One thing that stands out is the staff. They are over the top amazing. Wilber was an incredible bartender and gave us all sorts of information about Belize. He truly made the stay that much better. We didn't know what to expect with the onsite restaurant but it was honestly some of the best food we had in Belize. We were in San Pedro before Hopkins and the food here was far superior to anything we had in San Pedro. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there one of the days since we weren't doing any excursions and all of the food was amazing. Don't hesitate to stay at this resort.

The ocean was a few steps from my door. There was always plenty of room on the beach & always a friendly staff person to ask if you needed a chair or anything else. The property is very quaint & well kept. Bikes for use anytime, & quick walk on the beach to restaurants or places to grab a beer while relaxing in the sand

Everything about Hopkins Bay Resort is top notch! The staff is very friendly, attentive to guests every need. FREE bicycles, FREE paddle boards, FREE kayaks are only a few of the perks. The Rhum Shack restaurant is amazing and the prices are reasonable. My wife and I started our stay in Hopkins Village at another property but ended our stay at Hopkins Bay Resort - Praise God we did!! We will definitely be back

Everybody was extremely friendly and helpful. We had an ocean front room and it was wonderful listening to the waves crashing when we went to sleep and woke up. Special shout out to Wilber, the best barman ever! Food and drinks were excellent. Just north of the village, so nice and peaceful but close enough to cycle in on the complimentary bicycles.

We stayed at Hopkins Bay for 7 nights. We were in a one-bedroom oceanfront with an amazing view! The rooms are huge and have a front and back balcony. Our room was on the beach and right next to one pool. The free bike rentals are very convenient for trips into town if you don’t want to walk or have a car. There are many restaurants within walking or biking distance as well as the rum shack, the food was delicious! It was off season when we went so there was some construction and repairs being done but did not interfere with our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful! We would stay there in the future!

Hopkins Bay Belize Resort, is a fantastic property. It's located at one end of the beautiful little beach village of Hopkins easily walking distance to some great local food places and local culture. We had a one-bedroom upper suite with views of the beach and the ocean. It was so quiet and beautiful. The team running the resort were all very friendly and helpful, everyone called me by name and vibe was very relaxed and comfortable. The room was cleaned and the drinking water refilled every day. I loved that it was clean and cool inside but not sterile like a corporate hotel.
We were getting scuba certified so most of our days we were going to and from the Belize Underwater dive center. Transportation was arranged by the resort and we had lovely friendly drivers. There was a fantastic activity desk, but since we were diving, we didn't book any additional tours through them. The lobby has a small shop built in with a few necessities (sunscreen etc) in case you need them and a few treats (candy, soda and chips) in case you just want a snack. The Rhum Shack restaurant/bar is really delicious and reasonably priced. The drinks are cold, delicious and refreshing. The food was so fresh, delicious well-seasoned flavors and good variety. We enjoyed all our meals there, but particularly the stuffed fry jacks at breakfast and the lobster, pastas and salads at dinner. I also tried the ribeye and it was wonderful.
Overall, I'd recommend this property to anyone, it was a perfect stay.

I liked the location at the sea, with great sunsets. There were kayaks,, bikes and two pools. The room was smaller than appeared on the website. One bed is exactly what took up most of the space. It was a small studio. Great hot water ĺd shower pressure. The food in the restaurant was okay, but nothing special. The bar service and staff were good, as was the entertainment.

I didn't Like my room I LOVED it. Studio includes whole too floor. They happily helped trans me in my wheelchair. I sat by beach waiting for Manatee to swim by. Hot water shower!!! I've been many times. The help told me the story is still being told when a worker carried me on his back to office through knee deep H2O. Thanks for daring dedicated from Hopkins resort.

My husband and I were treated like gold at this resort. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The property was clean, the restaurant was tasty, the ground well maintained daily and the accommodations were top of the line. If there was only one item to improve upon, it would be the \"spa\". We got massages, and there is no enclosed indoor facility to have those services, or even change clothes. Nevertheless, it was a unique experience and I was not disappointed with my massage. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to have a quiet, safe, resort stay that is relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable.
