Thank you to all the hotel staff for their kindness and attentiveness. The hotel and its location seemed to be the best in Surin for us. We would have liked more variety at breakfast — by the end of the 6th day it became a bit repetitive. Also, one of the two rooms did not match the photos on Expedia: there was no mirror and no sofa. Otherwise, everything was good. We wish you further growth and improvement!

This lovely boutique hotel ticket all our boxes. Modern, clean and very comfortable. Decor was trendy with a holiday theme throughout all done very nicely. Two lovely small pools with plenty of sun beds and seating area. Breakfast was great, fresh and lots of options. The staff were friendly and helpful and very attentive. Beach was close by. Would recommend without hesitation.

Tha staff were very friendly and so so helpful. Always polite and cheerful. The hotel was very clean and new. We had a family suite, so it was on the third floor and had one more flight of stairs to the bedroom upstairs. No elevators, so got my workout each day. Bathroom was clean and large with an awesome huge shower. Location was great and just a shortwalk to Surin Beach. Two nice pools.

So outrigger is an excellent hotel chain. It is a true higher end 4 star hotel. That being said, I have stayed at world class hotels al over Thailand and the Surin outrigger has the best trained staff I have seen at any hotel. They are exceptional, everyone working there is just so kind and accommodating always. I always stay here when I come to Phuket.

Would call it a hotel rather than a resort however terrific experience for my and 2 young kids. Staff, in particular Peter and Fern, as well as the restaurant servers were genuinely accommodating and friendly. The beach is beautiful although the waves are quite intense for young kids. Overall a great stay!

Wonderful stay at Outrigger hotel in Surin! Highly recommend staying here. ( I am very fussy) arrived late at night, check in was fast and easy hotel to find with Grab. The first room was very noisy( slamming doors, paper thin walls) immediately I was upgraded to a bigger room with private pool. Guide(manager) listened to all my concerns and solved them swiftly. New room was beautiful, quiet ( except when a family checked in above me, kids jumping and banging Around) the private pool was cold and I loved it. The hotel is beautiful and clean. A walk across the street to Surin beach ( they have security to help you cross) the beach has bigger waves, lots my prescription glasses in the ocean. guide brought me my spare glasses to the beach so I could see! The breakfast is good and changes. The service here!! Omg it’s so good. All smiles. Everyone said hi and checked on me. I was solo and 6 months pregnant. I felt very safe and taken care of. The only down side is that people can smoke in the seating outside the restaurant and with the doors open your eating while breathing in second hand smoke. It’s a shame because it’s toxic for our health. They did offer to bring me my breakfast to my room( since I’m pregnant) but I also want to enjoy the restaurant. I think they should not allow smoking at the pools or restaurant for everyone’s health. Other than that I would go back 100% the staff made my week there amazing! Thank you Outrigger team! Thank you Guide!! Best manager!

Hotel and restaurant staff are all very friendly and eager to please. Not much to see or do immediately near the hotel. Unless you are a surfer. There is a great surfing beach directly across the street.
Made for some great people watching.

Stayed for 10 nights enjoyed every minute, staff were excellent, friendly, too many names to mention. Breakfast was varied a lot to choose from, Auddy seemed to be there with her smile all the time. Rooms very good bed was a dream to sleep in could have done with firmer pillows i should have asked. Only thing missing was a shortage of drawers to put clothes in, i mentioned it to the manager he agreed there looking into it. Just 500yds from the beach which was good. I found the drinks a little expensive like all Hotels. Reception staff excellent if you needed anything they sorted it out for you.

The best service we received in Thailand this year

Spent three nights here in March and I was extremely impressed by the quality of the rooms and especially the kindness of the staff. Their breakfast is À la carte, the portions are quite small, but the food is really good and you can order as often as you like during the set breakfast hours. The hotel is located across a park / parking from Surin beach, which (I didn't know this) is a surfers' beach. They have a modern pool and a really nice Happy Hour around 6 PM each day.
What really stood out for us though was the impeccable service provided by the staff during our stay - a special thanks to Plug (who checked us in) and Guide (who took care of all of our needs during our stay), they truly epitomize what gracious Thai service is all about. A big, BIG thank you to everyone for a stellar stay!

We LOVED our stay at Outrigger. We weren’t quite sure what to expect given the recent remodel and covid-related travel restrictions but here are some highlights:
Location - We loved staying on Surin beach. We debated a resort with a private beach but this turned out to be even better. It’s a 2-minute walk to the beach, where you can rent a chair for 100 baht and feast on fruit shakes and street food. The vibe is more relaxed than the more developed beaches (kamala, kata, karon, patong) with food stalls instead of brick-and-mortar restaurants, though there’s not much in the way of nightlife. The water is pretty clear and the beach clean. 7-11 is just around the corner.
Amenities - The resort was recently renovated and has a fresh, clean feel with really beautiful design elements. A few things about the quality of construction could be better, but nothing was outside of an acceptable range. The pool shower didn’t function and our A/C worked just okay, but these did not impact the enjoyment of our stay. The restaurant offered somewhat generic western food (steak, pasta, etc). For the free breakfast, you order aka carte off the menu which includes excellent espresso drinks.
Service - The staff were absolutely incredible to go above and beyond to meet our every need.
We highly recommend this hotel! The value for money is great. In our experience, this was better than a big resort that would have been 3x the price.

Our hotel transfer didn't turn up due to a car accident,we had to arrange this at the airport,cost more & funds then came from our cash flow.Ibrahim & staff greeted us & apologised.Our room was a large suite costing $172AUDpn
the AC didn't work,we changed to another smaller room which had a private pool.We asked to be compensated but was told the room is more expensive.The pool was dirty with foliage,paint from the building,pool lights floating in the water.A voucher for dining in the restaurant was given.Breakfast was good,fruit was room temp.Last day I went to take some fruit back to room & was told no.A lady I had seen everday took food back to her parents in a container,handful of pastries etc.When I questioned this was adv she paid extra for A la Carte,she was eating the same food from the buffet.The hotel provided pool towels,we waited two days before the towels came in & one staff mentioned the Germans don't like to spend money.
Noc at reception did everything within her capability for us to have a pleasant stay, to which we are grateful. She arranged for our return transfer to the airport which the hotel paid for. Jay in the restaurant was also pleasant & provided good service also at the pool bar.
The hotel desperately needs some money spent on it.The room next to us had the ceiling caved in & the pool was not clean.Tiles around the pool edge were loose.Close to beach,supermarket

The people at the front desk are very pleasing and try to resolve uprising issues. We had a tour guide cancel without notice and this gentleman rushed to try to book us a taxi for 4 hours. We got to sightsee at a lower cost and he kept reminding us to smile. The hotel was pleasant but not over the top and the included breakfast was okay. The women constantly got the wrong order that I believed the egg whites were actually orange. On the last day, the gentleman actually gave us egg whites. I want to believe it was the language barrier. The hotel restaurant food is bland and every time I asked for sticky rice, I was told it wasn't available. I wouldn't come back to this property.

The best accomodation compared to other hotel as it is really really near to the beach. You can have your breakfast overlooking the beach which is amazing. They upgraded us to premium room without charges. Shower was great in the room. Food was good though slightly pricey compared to nearby seafoos restaurant. Toilet in the room smells like sewerage and one two cockroaches will comeout from the manhole but its a tropical country, it happens many time in other places too. But maybe the management can look into that matter. They provide beach mat which was a huge gesture because we manage to avoid spending money on beach towel, lazy chair or whatever they trying to sell you at the beach.

Seeing the pictures, it seemed like 4 stars, but the facilities and rooms are maximum 3 stars. There are much nicer 4 stars for the same price. Pool chairs were old ans disgusting. The furnitures in the rooms were very old and ugly, not like in the pictures.

I found the morning receptionist unfriendly, if I had consumed minibar why can just charge my credit card, instead he asked me to sit at checkout counter and wait 5 mins, weird.

Consistant Gem in Surin Beach.

First time I have stayed in the new building rooms, they upgraded me from a deluxe which confused me until I realized there exist a group of rooms on the main floor that appear to not have any windows, room I was upgraded to did with a balcony but unfortunately was only suited for a smoke and drying clothes due to the small size and blast from the split A/C unit half outside. Compared with the older and larger rooms they have in the other buildings, I am going to say this newer room was awkward in design but okay; in the future I would opt for the older rooms which are suites .
The pools; lovely as always but there are some minor issues with maintenance with wood trim on one area of the older pool that had wood nails exposed & frame separating on a raised dais.
One of the main reasons I love the Manathai is the proximity to the beaches. The political landscape has changed the availability of amenities & venues on the beach front but Surin Beach remains lovely. I did have a significant disappointment regarding Laem Singh Beach which was within walking distance but now completely blocked by the owner of the property where paths led you down to the beach. Not the hotel's fault but a great loss for their customers who previously enjoyed the convenience.
Breakfast was good.
Wifi was okay.
TV stations (20+-) not the best and don't do the modern flat screen TV's justice: I would recommend to the hotel to upgrade to SMART TV's and improve their internet to support this.

From check-in to check-out. My experience was amazing. My flight arrived late (2am) and the hotel staff was there to greet me with fresh tea. My room was amazing and flexible for a family of three. Breakfast was great as well. On my final day, I requested a late check-out because of my late flight and the hotel provided me with another room to relax and shower prior to my late flight out. I’m already planning my next trip to Manathai Surin Phuket.

The hotel isn’t necessarily bad - it’s got a nice design layout and the family suite was nice. The aircon in the room was leaking for our entire stay, and the desk staff just seemed less than enthusiastic. Whenever you could find them, we felt as if we were inconveniencing them with any request we had. The Pad Thai and poolside service was good, but that’s about it. With a different attitude and some slight adjustments, this place could be so much more.

Surin escape

Surin beach is a quite, and much different compared to the experience many others had in Phuket. We had a relaxing stay. There is not much to do in Surin and taxis to most places nearby are pretty expensive compared to other places we went in Thailand, the hotel was steps from the beach. There were two pools that were nice for cooling off. The lobby wasn’t air conditioned so it was very hot in there. The room was hot and the ac took awhile to cool it down so we ended up having to run it all day while we were gone. The bathroom was a bit disappointing, it wasn’t very nice, the sink wobbled a lot and there was black mold in the shower. The soaps also smelled really bad to me. The bed was comfortable and we especially loved the pillows. The restaurant had awesome breakfast, we especially loved the French pressed coffee each morning. Worth it for the hotel if you are going to Surin. For us if we had to choose somewhere in Phuket we are glad we chose Surin beach, however based on all the great places we went in Thailand we would probably not return to Phuket.

This was a very comfortable hotel, in a great location just a short walk across the road to Surin Beach. I’d love to visit again! Udeep on reception was so welcoming and friendly! She took the time to remember our names and always asked about our day. There were some small areas for improvement on the housekeeping side, but in general, the facilities were really great and breakfast was simple, but sufficient.

View to the sea when having breakfast

We booked to 2 suites but on the night of the arrival only one was available. My husband and were given a standard room that I would not recommend. But the suite in which we stayed after was spacious and confortable. We were offered lunch because of that first night, which we greatly appreciated. The staff is very nice and helpful. On our last day, we asked for a changing room because of our late flight, we got it without problem. Our stay was really enjoyable.

Pleasant Stay At Surin Beach

Nice boutique hotel in great location at beautiful Surin Beach. Rooms showing a bit of wear and tear and with a bit more attention to minor room repairs (our room had a cracked mirror in main room and peeling paint under sink from past leakage) this would be a top level resort.

Service was outstanding and accommodating.

Hotel has excellent restaurant for both breakfast and local Thai favourites.

I stayed in Surin Terrace room, which was very spacious and well planned with big bathroom with Terrace area off bedroom overlooking pool.
On cloudy days there was no hot water as advised by front office manager this was due to solar panel heating and no backup. Swimming pool was very clean but overcrowded.
You I will returned to this property, however it is not a five-star property more a 3 1/2 Star boutique Hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Manathai Surin. The staff was so friendly and helpful-- everything from helping me check in early, to assisting with booking tours, and the security guard even gave me a ride to the marathon start the day of the race.

Had the pool right outside of my room, which was so convenient! A great hotel overall. I was very happy with my stay and would stay here again, without a doubt.

The small pool is obvious to everyone and then... there is another amazing poll which I only discovered don my last day :( You need to keep walking towards the motorbike parking place and then the second pool, much bigger, is right behind.

A truely beautiful hotel so tastefully designed and decorated. Everything about it we loved. We were upgraded to a duplex room which was 1st class! The staff are lovely. The breakfast really good quality and the egg service a great idea. A very peaceful and chilled out atmosphere throughout the whole hotel. The location is ideal,local eateries either side and the beach 1 minute across the road with a lovely security guard who will help you cross. We were sad to come home.

Pleasant stay

Stayed in the pool access room. Love the room, pool, and location near the beach.
Welcoming and helpful staff.

Water pressure in shower is a bit soft.

Need improvement for breakfast service.
Breakfast venue is small and full on some days. Then you have to wait for table.
Service is lacking when restaurant is full.

Lovely hotel, close to the beech.

The hotel was beautiful, the staff were incredibly friendly and supportive with my first visit to Thailand. It was wonderful to be welcomed so warmly and sinscerly throughout my stay.

The hotel is very chic, however my room wasn't to the same standard as the ones photographed but none the less it was pleasant.

Manathai is in a great location, just across the road from the beech which is rustic and full of charm. I would highly recommend this hotel as I felt valued and appreciated, this was due to the high level of service I recieved, I felt I was staying in a family run hotel.

AMAZING RELAXING PLACE - ALL YOU NEEDFOR FAMILIES

Very nice place for those who dont like crowed bug resort. Feel like in hidden place but just 5 min from the beach, convenient stores juts walking distance.

Family room is perfect you have enough place for everyone. Very clean. Wifi works fine. Baby crib available. Personal very nice.
Good breakfast, hight chair available. Down side is there is no lift so for stroller not that easy. Only 2 floors so thats fine. ONLY thing missing is a bath tub
Restaurant expensive and not impressed, better to go to local place around.

Great to be in Surin during the day beach was clean and plenty of food and drink options if you like street food which we do. Wr reccomend audy for lunch and the banana pancake lady for dessert. Surin more limited at night but 500 baht from taxi to Patlong nightlife ( about 30mins). Overall a great stay.

Perfect for our 3 day getaway

We were visiting Phuket for 3 days and booked it through hotels.com . The staff was very welcoming. We booked a moped from the hotel. In all we had a pleasant stay.

Bad shower and noisy construction

This hotel needs to fix their hot water system: the water temperature changes from hot to cold to hot, and the water pressure goes up and down. There is construction noise going on next door which makes it impossible to relax by the pools or in the room during the day. The breakfast was excellent. The bed is huge. I spent my last 2 nights in a different hotel.

STUNNING room

We booked a deluxe duplex suite and stayed for 4 nights. I love Surin beach because it is beautiful and not so crowded. The room is clean and comfortable but is bit old. The stuffs are very helpful and friendly and we have a very pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel with great service

Hotel was great, the staff are lovely and know what customer service is. They are extremely patient and will give you your full attention. My only problem was the water, at first there a strange smell of the shower water and the pressure of the water is very low and not consistent. The showers need to be a bit bigger.
Location wise, its fantastic & quiet area, close to beach and regular shops.

Pool access room quite small although very clean and bright. Bathroom closes off with a shower style curtain from rest of room, no privacy. Lovely pool access right from room. Despite pool access being lovely and quite a novelty decision was made to upgrade to the duplex as the room felt small and we needed more room. Duplex fantastic, huge, beautifully finished and a pleasure to be in. Hotel is overall very good but it is boutique so small and quaint. If you want ample facilities and a sprawling large resort this is not the right place for you. I recommend this hotel for a short stay for couples, but not families.
