I liked breakfast being served to the room. I didn't like the mould on the bread.
They apologised for the mould and went ahead and charged full tariff for the breakfast on check-out. (e.g. several thousand baht plus 1Baht)

I liked the apartment big open and with ovn swimmingpool. I did not like that the kitchen did not know how to make a simple american cup of coffee. I tried 5 times to get coffee from them. But they had no ideer on how to make a simple cup. Food was simple mostly cold on arrival to my room.

We stayed at the Residence Retreat and spa villias for the last 7 days.What a tranquill place to stay, the rooms where very clean and tidy, our pool villa had an amazing homey feel. The staff are all welcoming and friendly towards us.Great service at every request.The breakfast was very filling , it was a good idea to book breakfast included with the plung pool offer, it was ideal having that daily swim as it gets very hot.Close to the main back beaches , only a short walk or scooter drive.
Will go back and stay there again...highly recommend it.

The Residence Resort and spa

Great place to stay, nice and quite. Very friendly people. Over all an excellent place and I will definitely come back. Few things they can improve are, signs showing where what number villas are, refill the toiletries on daily basi, some street lights within the compound, just a bit more attention to finishing, one of the screw in the hardwood floor in the bed room was lose.

Overall great please and I'm looking forward to coming back here soon.

Travelled as a couple and stayed in the newer villas. Overall the villa was okay, they seem to be poorly maintained. Lots of little cracks, paint chipping, moldy smell under kitchen sink, and lights not working. The bed was horrible, and as hard as the floor. After only a couple of day sleeping on it we were experiencing back pains (did not have this the entire time we were in Thailand or any of the other hotels we stayed in prior). There was rarely hot water, just luke warm. The reception area is also poorly maintained, the couches look cracked and gross but that is less of a concern as you're only there shortly.

Positives were they offered a shuttle around the compound, staff were friendly, close to Bang Tao Beach, villa was spacious, private and you get your own pool and deck.

We went in Aug 2018 which is rainy/low season and got lower rates. I would not pay the regular high price for this villa.

Nice villa - good location to everything from night markets to beach to convenience stores. Tuk tuk shuttle bus to Beach Club and Tesco daily , but also walkable to get out amongst the lifestyle.
CONS -
On arrival at night the reception area didn’t make an impression. A bit of updating is needed. Our bed was extremely firm ( should’ve complained but just accepted it ) and locks on doors needed repairing .
PROS
Lovely staff especially Su ( best PinaColada maker in Bangtao) Hard & Gibsi - they looked after us with a smile every time. Staff made everything from daily housekeeping to day to day activities easy . We couldn’t find a birthday cake for my sons birthday and that evening management personally delivered a cake to our room - candles and singing and all .. impressive
Great room service .. food was quality and affordable . Outdoor pool and dining areas are pleasing

Fantastic, private hotel

We loved this hotel. We had a private villa with one bedroom and pool. The pool and decking area was fantastic. The bedroom was lovely and we had a massive living room/ kitchen area too. Only slight draw back was it’s about a 20/30 min walk to beach which seemed massive in the heat! There is a shuttle bus but we just hired a scooter for the week which was only 400baht a day and allowed us to whizz around everywhere.

Day to day maintenance can be improved. I was short of shampoo and shower gel for two days and the lights do not work. When I told the buggy driver to pick me up from my room to spa, he did not show up.
The villa need to be up kept better, painting, furniture. Also, no other facilities other the spa. More facilities, like inside gardens and more restaurants, better reception lobby are needed.
It is however is nice for a family vacation. The villas are very private and they are home away from home, that type of a feel. They have kitchen which as a family, will save a lot to buy food in the restaurants.

Nice place, the private pool is the wow factor. Everything inside is standard. You can walk to the beach and supermarket if you like walking 15-20 min. There’s a delicious restaurant across the street and night markets on Mon and Thurs. No TV in the bedroom and only 2 bottles of complimentary water per day. The staff was helpful with an early check in. For only two people, I’d probably stay on the beach next time but this place would b perfect for large families.

Disappointing stay: nice property but poor service

The villas are very spacious and nicely furnished. But many basic facilities are not functioning! In my case: there was no water at all on day 1,then no hot water on day 2, during all stay the wifi has poor connectivity and went completely off on day 3.
All of these things can be fine if solved promptly; but at this residence, there was NO willingness to help, to the point of the receptionist who couldn't speak English hang up on me when i was chasing for Wifi to be restored. So overall a very disappointing stay in a property that could offer so much better.

I'd definitely recommend The Residence! The 3 Bedroom was very spacious, including the indoor and outdoor space. Having breakfast included with our room was also a plus! It was delivered fresh to our door every morning and the room service guy was extremely friendly! Although we did not use our private pool, it was aesthetically pleasing to looking out, especially at night time when then pool lights illuminated the courtyard. Overall, this was a great stay at a very affordable price!

Spacious villas esp for families, couples, friends

I booked the 2 bedroom villa (#109) which was good for me and my boyfriend as well as another couple. However, I will have to say that there were some minor things which weren't up to par...making this more of a 4-star place instead of the advertised 5. PROS: large outdoor pool, spacious living room/kitchen space, free \"mini-bar\" fridge items (2 beers, 2 soft drinks, water, sml juice box) restocked daily, comfy bed, reliable air con, all-you-can-eat a la carte breakfast, comp shuttle (scheduled) and use of facilities at Bliss beach club, walking distance to local market held on Mon and Thurs, close to Tesco supermarket, location in Bang Tao area. CONS: wifi connection problems first night but resolved promptly, towels weren't replaced first night, no fan in the washroom, hard wooden lounge chairs w/o pads (had to ask repeatedly to get more chairs and padding), slow to respond to certain requests, had to ask repeatedly for extra pair of keys to lock room doors, taxis they booked are always overpriced (better to use GrabCar app), hot breakfast items were cold and bland the first 2 days, secluded area not much nearby, better to stay here if you have a car or don't mind cabbing.

Was warmly welcomed and able to check in a couple of hours early. Driven to my room in a little buggy. I stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was amazing. More like a 5 star resort than a 4 star. The villa was spacious, clean and modern. The pool was a decent size with a nice water feature and Sunlounger. Very private. The kitchen was well equipped. Good tv channels. Free wifi which was a little slow sometimes but decent. The villa was tastefully furnished and overall it was just luxury. There didn't seem to be much to do in the vicinity. The resort offers free lifts down to the beach which is quite nice and peaceful. The beach club down there is quite expensive.

Great spacious room with apartment facilities with plunge pool,good for Thai humidity. Restaurant food was very good and service excellent.Linked up with Bliss beach club on Bangtao beach which was clean,safe and beautiful.Would highly recommend. We obtained a very cheap rate during oct off season. Also had a massage - excellent value for money and staff very professional and friendly.

A wonderful stay

Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Tesco just 5 min walk away and could buy food there to cook in the Kitchen. Splash pool was used often because of the heat in Phuket. Also made use of the free gym offer and enjoyed Pilates and Yoga classes with Jo! Will definitely stay here again.

The villa,is more than what the picture offers.its more awesome if you could experience it yourself...!!! its definitely worth the money and time spend there!!

The villa is near amenities like Tesco,to buy some food and snacks or drinks to last your stay at the villa.Bliss beach club is a definitely a must go!!!semi private beach club..best to catch some suntanning over there..plus the view and drinks!

The only downside is the shower water pressure is kinda low,and the price of shuttle service to and fro to patong or other places is kinda expensive..but nonetheless...

ItS awesome!!! if there is 10 or more stars for this villa..ill give it!

ill definitely comeback here for sure.

oh and dont forget the hattakarn spa massage..a definitely not to be miss!

We loved having our own little pool to relax in after a long day of scootering around Phuket. The hotel is super private and quiet - perfect for us. The breakfasts were very substantial and kept us full until dinner on most days. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were serviced daily and the free drinks and snacks were replenished daily. Highly recommended.

We loved this resort!

Incredibly beautiful resort, extremely calm and relaxing! We unfortunately only had time to stay here for two nights, we for sure wished we could have stayed longer. We stayed in five 4 and 5 star hotels in the Krabi/Phuket area during our visit and this resort was our favourite! The rooms or apartments were very spacious, came with a modern design and had an own private pool. Breakfast selection was great, the spa was of high quality, roomservice was fast and the restaurant served tasty dishes. The location was excellent, close to three beautiful and less crowded beaches. Can't say anything negative, we will come back here for our next visit to Thailand!

I had stayed for 3 days 2 nights. It's wonderful vocation for our family. Children enjoys the swimming pool a lot. Rooms were nice and cosy. Facilities in house is completed even kitchenware. Just a bit bad that not close to the sea.

Beautiful private pool, 5-10 minute walk to beach.

Had a great stay, staff was really nice. Many had limited English, but could always find someone quickly who could understand you. You have full access to a shower, chairs, and pool at the beach, they are partners with the bliss beach resort, just being the orange towels provided by the resort. Food at the red room was cheap and tasty.

The check in was good friendly staff room was clean nice layout nice pool only issue we had was the light system failed so we had to shift villas not anything the hotel could have foreseen then we had a swarm of bees move into our gazebo in wich they promptly got pest controllers to spray and got rid of them provided us with some entertainment watching from inside again not the hotels fault but overall the staff where really friendly and made an effort to look after us and getting to know them and engaging them was fun to the only down fall was it was a little to far away from a handy store or other outside amenities like just ducking out to grab things from the store was a mission but overall would stay again

Amazing everything

One of the best experiences that we have experienced. From the first day till the last, we kept commenting on how if we were to visit phuket again, we would definitely stay here again.

The staff took care of every little detail and made us feel so welcome.
It helped that they offered complimentary yoga and Pilates classes and the instructor was very good.

Breakfast was something we looked forward to as well!

No doubt, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting phuket.

The services of this hotel is commendable. Their service is prompt and efficient. Upon checked in, we were ushered to our 3 bed room villa, which was well maintained and clean. The villa adopted a modern and neat concept which is pleasant and comfortable to stay in. The bathroom of the master toilet is really huge and so pretty. They have a huge varieties of tv channels to choose from. Breakfast is ordinary, with different menu each day. This place is secluded and quiet, which is a good especially since this is a relax trip for me and my family. No worries about getting out, since they have taxi service located at the entrance of the hotel. Highly recommend this place for travellers without budget constraint and is looking for a chillax holiday. Would definitely return again!

Room for improvement.

First of all, I am pretty impressed with the price for the quality of room I booked. Location wise is not bad although for tourist who wished to have some beach hopping might have some issue as traveling take time even thou I had rented a bike. For making up the room, shower gel and shampoo were not replaced automatically, we had to call to have a new one replaced, Kind of disappointed. Facilities wise, I would strongly recommend iPod docker to be connect to their sound stereo as many people using smartphone nowadays.

I planned the trip as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday last week. Prior to the trip, I'd check with the resort if they could help me a little with the preparation. When we reached, the room was nicely decorated, they even presented us with a complementary cake on the midnight of his birthday, coordinating the time with me perfectly.
Unfortunately, I was down with stomach flu from the day before the trip, We ended up staying in the villa most of the time, but it was a great and relaxing stay. It was monsoon season anyway so the weather is not good most of the time.

The staff at The Red Room were very attentive and they even remembered what we like for our morning coffee. Buffet breakfast spread is small but decent. The egg are good.
The club cars arrive really soon after you requested for them. The staffs at the reception desk are friendly and helpful with any queries.

We rented a car so travelling around is not really a problem.

Overall, service is really wonderful.

Going down!

When it first opened I'm sure the residence looked wonderful. Now it is on the downgrade. The pool villa looked lovely, even though as a couple you need to book a 2 bed villa to get anything of a decent size. The pool was great, the roof dining area good and the villa was quite big. The kitchen lacked strainers, cooking utensils essential in a self catering villa though. The red room restaurant tried to cater for us and the staff there were lovely. The place itself was small and not all that inviting. As vegetarians there was also not much though put into the breakfast buffet. The fitness room was hot, small but adequate. The staff on front reception were not very good. They struggled with English, never really smiled and couldn't get most things we wanted done efficiently. Cleaning of the room was not done very thoroughly also. So in conclusion, he residence was a reasonable plac to stay but they certainly don't go that extra mile to make your stay memorable.

Great concept and I would generally agree with all the reviews ive seen - management wasnt great though.
We had no water one night; I would have minimally expected the offer of using another shower or moving us. Not organised when we checked out and therefore were delayed in leaving. Having a more frequent shuttle service would also generate more income in the area as it was too hard to find transport in the area without a car.
