We had an amazing time here at best western. We were upgraded to a semi detached bungalow room number 5111. The staff were amazing and we ate one night at the sea front restaurant and the food was delicious. It was beautiful and very close to the beach. I was happy to be close to our room from the beach as the toilet facilities where we rented sun beds were probably the worst I’ve seen, that was nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel was spotless with fantastic facilities. The beach was beautiful a lot cleaner than previous reviews. We rented sun beds to the right off beach just as you go onto beach. They cost 200 bhat for 2. We would definitely recommend this hotel

We stayed at the Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort during EDC Thailand 2025, and it was the perfect choice. Just 15-20 minutes from Boat Avenue Lakefront, where EDC is held, the location was incredibly convenient. Beach access was amazing—we could be on the sand or in a beach chair within minutes.

The resort is close to a 7-Eleven, where we grabbed snacks, drinks, and Thai Craft Beer, and used the ATM. The area also had plenty of shops for beach gear, souvenirs, and even cannabis dispensaries for those who partake.

The breakfast buffet was a standout. Every morning, I enjoyed bacon, eggs, and rice topped with fish sauce, vinegar, and chilis. The condiment bar allowed me to customize my meal perfectly. While the resort’s beer selection was limited, nearby Porto De Phuket’s Tops grocery store had an incredible variety, including imported beers from the US. Although I stuck with Thai Craft Beers most of the time.

Massages were affordable at just 500 THB for an hour. The staff were incredibly friendly, greeting us with smiles throughout the property. Basic English was sufficient, but a few Thai phrases made interactions even better.

Our room had a small ocean and pool view, though it could be noisy from neighbors at night—earplugs helped. The beach was beautiful, and walking to nearby spots like Catch for drinks was a treat.

Highly recommend for EDC attendees or first-time Phuket visitors! Be sure to download Bolt/Grab and use nearby TukTuks for convenience.

Lovely resort in excellent condition. Staff are wonderful. Pools were beautiful even tough we never went in them, we only used the beach. The only thing we wished was addressed is to have a staff member walk the beach area in front of the resort to clean the beach regularly. The garbage that floats up the beach daily, which is not the fault of the resort, but it would be better if the resort would send someone down to clean it up so guests are not swimming in it.

Great hotel, staff and location. Heaps of great food and drink options on the beach and around the hotel.
Bangtao is a great spot for a few weeks, unfortunately the beach is covered with single use plastics which wash up all day and night. The guys on the beach do a great cleaning job, but it's a constant fight. Not the fault of the hotel at all, it's humans.
Access to the beach is by rock steps which the sea has blown out and sandbags have been added. It's still easy and safe access.
Hotel seafood restaurant is terrible, the worst food I ever ate in Thailand. The Barbecue fish platter was all just deep fried and greasy. Including prawns, in shells, battered and deep fried. Horrible and ridiculously expensive (over 2000 bht for two).
The staff and hotel facilities are top quality, the rooms are big, have aircon and very clean. The staff are all amazingly helpful and easy to deal with. I would stay here again.

Relaxing location, quiet and away from major nightlife but enough bars and restaurants to choose from. Hotel itself is good and the pool areas well designed and maintained. Staff are superb. Room large (deluxe seaview) and always clean. It also had adequate amenities. Breakfast was OK but range of options was a tad limited. Beach access outside of rainy season will be great I'm sure. During it high tides and rough seas prevent meaningful access. That said the full Bangtao bay is wonderful.

Anyone who has ever stayed at a Best Western in the US knows exactly what kind of hotel accommodation it is. I read a few negative reviews and was surprised, no one should complain knowing what a Best Western type hotel actually is. This is much better than those in the USA. Keeping this in mind we were very pleasantly surprised by how nice of a stay we had. This is heavenly Phuket after all. We found the hotel clean, comfortable, pleasant, a very nice cozy lobby, the staff very helpful and sweet, and the pool and the beachside area beautiful. The breakfast area was also quite lovely, the view of Bang Tao beach wonderful to have your breakfast beside. If I had one complaint it would be that the pillows are uncomfortable but that is the only thing I can come up with. A pleasant stay, and we thank the Best Western Premier Bang Tao, we will be back if we are in a pinch ever again in Phuket.

I was originally going to book a hotel near Boat Ave, I'm so glad I did not. On the way to Bang Tao from the airport, we drove past this area and it is not very pleasant.

The drive from the airport to BWP takes 40 minutes and it is not a smooth ride.

BWP is in an excellent position on the beach. Opposite there are 3 reasonable restaurants, a 7/11, money exchange, several atm's, several massage salons and a pharmacy. There is also a taxi service opposite, use them as they charge B100 less than the hotel.

I had a deluxe room and it was as described. If you can ask for a room in blocks 1 or 2 as they are closest to reception.

The hotel staff are excellent and reception is always staffed.

2 large swimming pools, free yoga classes, hotel main restuarant and a seafood restaurant that I found to be just ok for food.

If you walk along the beach to the north, there are many beach shack restaurants set up on the sand. There are also more restaurants and bars in the northern part of the beach, it is a B400 taxi round trip or about a 30 minute walk along the beach.

I stayed in Bang Tao for 4 nights and that was probably enough, but for a family on an all includive deal, the hotel offers everything. You can pay cash for food and drinks etc rather than charging it all to your room.

I highly recommend it.

This is a very nice place if you are interested in staying on the beach and do not plan to go out of the compound. There's everything you need for a quality beach vacation, the nice sandy beach, swimming pools, restaurants, massage, water sports, etc. However the area outside the hotel is dirty, possibly because there was a road construction going on while we were there. There is no public transportation, so you will need either a car / motorbike, or taxi to explore the island. There are many restaurants and massage shops outside the hotel, but the street is dirty and unpleasant to walk. Based on the hotel itself, I would rate it 5, considering the environment it is 4.

The staff were kind, considerate and helpful, but the resort is not a 4-star rating kind of place. It might have been 30 years ago! There was a nicer resort next door, and had I known, I would have booked that place because it was modern and more to my taste. I stayed at a Best Western hotel in Venice, Italy, a few times, and because it was a very nice experience, I assumed I would have the same experience in Phuket. Sadly, I was mistaken.

When I returned to my room the evening of my birthday, “Happy Birthday” was written on my bed with cut palm leaves surrounded by flowers. A beautiful flower arrangement was in my room and a bowl of fresh fruit as well. I had a magnificent experience.

I love everything about this place. It was my second time there after three years. At check-in, I said \"Last time, I had Room X and really liked it.\" They said, yes, we know, and you have it again. Then when I went to the room, they'd used various plant materials to spell out \"Welcome Back\" on the King-sized bed. There was also a fruit plate waiting for me there. The pool was right outside my door and was fabulously clean and inviting. the beach maybe 50 yards from my door. Nice bar, excellent restaurant with buffet breakfasts every day, and various buffets every night. The place is immaculate, all the staffers smile and greet you and the desk staff is very helpful and solicitous. Great shopping nearby, including a 7-11 right across the street. I will be coming back.

Money Back Guarantee at Best Western Bang Tao?

Best Western Bang Tao?...From our Arrival for a two week stay, not just a night, and considering we normally go to the Dusit Thani Laguna,just 500 metres down Bang Tao Beach,we were less than well received. The man at the arrival was very unfriendly,as if we were at his convenience. He shouldn't be in the job,as frankly he clearly doesn't like westerners.
Then the first Room they showed us was dark,full of mosquitoes and in the middle of a 30 year old Block,when Hotels.com suggested it was \"A new Resort\"??? We stayed in that room first night & next morning asked to be moved to one of the ground floor end Apartments,which the kind Lady Manager arranged.
The other major disappointment was the food. First meal? Great. Every other Dinner we had in the restaurant was frankly very ordinary. I am still having repercussions 5 days later. We would NOT recommend a stay at the Worst Western Bang Tao,and it is certainly not Premium. It is a 3 Star at Best with 5 star Prices.
Forget it. We've been to Phuket 5 times in 3 years,and on this experience,we will not be going back.Ever. Blame the arrogance of some of the Staff,and on the haughty anti western attitude shown. We are VERY Frequent long distance long time Travellers,Internationally,but that's it for us, ever going back to Thailand.
We would like to get our $3500 refunded from Hotels.com.

Loved the different pools which catered to quiet or family time. The rooms were clean, linen nicely laundered and bed was very comfortable. The staff were helpful and very attentive. We requested for late check out and paid a minimal fee which was a pleasant surprise. We chose Bangtao beach as it was less populated and we made the right choice. Even then, there are restaurants and a great 7/11/family mart right in front of the hotel which fitted with our requirements. The hotel has a great ambience even though a bit dated in terms of furnishings. The only downside was the in-house massage spa where the masseurs were not very experienced. Overall, it was a peaceful and relaxing holiday experience for all of us.

We stayed in one of the premier villas just in front of the beach. The room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was great and varied. Nice staff.
The hotel is great for families with small kids and teens. It has many restaurants around and places for massage as well.

Lovely hotel. The rooms we had booked weren’t available so we were doengraded but given a free dinner each, which was fine. Our rooms were good, despite the downgrade.
Lovely pool, meals were very good with plenty of choice.
Reception staff were lovely, but just seemed to be a little disorganized when we arrived. Overall, the hotel staff were great.
The location was perfect, great pools and right on the beach. I would stay here again.

We stayed for 6 nights and were upgraded on arrival to a beachfront bungalow. It was an amazing location. Breakfast is awesome but could change choices more often. Staff are polite and helpful. Pools are clean and well maintained. Rooms are clean and well kept. Towels are big and thick. Gardens are beautifully maintained. Many Europeans at hotel. I think we were the only Australians there.
I liked that we didn't have to leave a safety deposit (our previous hotel charged a 5000 THB safety deposit which won't be refunded for 2 weeks after departure).
Hotel website and agreement that we signed on arrival claims the hotel is 100% smoke free, which was a positive for us. It is not smoke free! Europeans smoked by the pool, at the pool bar, walking around the grounds, in the deck chairs by the beachfront. Everywhere except the restaurant. This was not discouraged by hotel staff in fact ashtrays are provided by the pool.....??

Nice beach, pool and breakfast. Very very disappointed with the airport pickup that did not show up at 100 am. Not just us but two other couples as well failed to be greeted by a pre arranged ride. And management failed to fix our door key lock. We asked to have it fixed twice and nothing happened. Once tried twentytwo times before it unlocked. But not to be whiners...all in all a nice stay.

Jonathan at the reception desk was very accommodating and helpful and kind. He deserves a promotion and a big raise. I like him very much. I was at your Hotel between 24th and 28 August.

There was a local lady at the reception desk who was quite rough. Please do your monitoring to find out. Her voice was loud. And she was quite arrogant and sounded angry when I asked her questions. My conversation with her was on Friday morning, 25 August.

Concierge wasn't so helpful, but it can be improved.

Food at The Beach restaurant was lousy and tasteless. The food selection was bad. The menu for room service wasn't interesting. All can be improved. The waitresses and waiters should be more friendly and helpful.

Well run hotel

We returned to this hotel after two year, something we have never done before. We had researched and could not find a hotel as good as this one. I did a review in August 2015 for tripadvisor. I like the fact they clean the beach each day, we went in low season and strong winds bring a lot of rubbish, Also thumbs up to this hotel for sending a large amount of staff to clean up all along the beach. This is suitable for everyone. If you are older choose terrace rooms about three steps from the pool as they don't have a lift. There is a seaside restaurant, ask for the lunch menu even in the evening as there is a larger selection and meals cost approx. $10. Felt the buffet dinner in the other restaurant was too expensive at 699+baht. There are two large pools and you can also sit under the trees overlooking the beach and hear the waves, lovely. I would return again in a few years time.

We had a lovely stay at the resort ~! the beach is clean & quiet & beautiful. the breakfast spread elaborate & the massage services fabulous as well.

The location is great, since it is not in the touristy part of Phuket - but is well serviced by a 7-11 right outside the gate as well as a choice of restaurants a short walk in either direction ...
We were also given a complimentary late checkout on our last day !!

Perfect location for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, rooms were fantastic, clean tiday with plenty of space, both pools are nice with the swim up bar. Massage on the beach, breakfast with a great view of the ocean and sea breeze. Take a walk along the beach towards the green leaf reataurant on the beach and experience some great Thai cuisine and hospitality.

We stayed at Best Western for 3 nights in July 2017 and would gladly stay longer. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast selection was extensive. Staff was very friendly. Moped and car rental, taxi, massage shops, souvenir shops and restaurants just outside the hotel. The area is quiet and relaxing. Hotel is right on the beach, with lounge chairs and beach towels provided. Beach slippers are also provided in the room. Beds were firm but provided great night sleep.

Although the room was clean and comfortable the front desk reception was not warm or engaging and we were charged 28 Canadian dollars to stay a few more hours even though we only stayed one night. We had to do a last-minute booking the night before through Expedia and the room was to be ready at 2 p.m. we got there at 2:30 p.m. and we needed to wait for close to 1 hour and even after waiting they got the wrong room and we're not able to access the information from the booking. They offered us free cocktails for the inconvenience which took close to an hour and a half of the afternoon wasted waiting in the lobby on our last day in Thailand. Overall it is a lovely Resort but more of a hotel then Resort.

A most enjoyable stay. The concierge staff were very welcoming, and any of the staff I met around the resort were very happy and friendly. I was upgraded to a Junior suite which was a nice room to be upgraded to. The room had a little lounge area off the bedroom, a curtain divided the area. Also off the lounge was a balcony. The room has tea and coffee facilities and you are provided with complimentary water. The bar fridge is very large. There is also a universal power socket, so I could plug in my Australian power adapter without need for a travel adapter. The view from my second floor room was of the pool (of which there are two pools at the resort) and also I could see the sea. As my building (no. 4) was not near the reception, bar & restaurant it was very quiet at night. If you have kids or are older with bad knees I would highly recommend requesting for the ground (1st floor) or even the 2nd floor. There are no lifts at the resort. The breakfast had a great selection of food. Egg station made excellent omelettes. I commend the pool & beach staff for patrolling the outdoor chairs to ensure people did not leave towels there before 9:30am. The sea water was warm & calm. and beach well maintained. The hotel is close to restaurants, bars and massage and convenience stores. My only one criticism was the selection of alcohol at the bar, there was no top shelf options and sometimes bar staff were very stingy and not put a full nip (it would definitely be under) in a cocktail.

Beautiful resort on a calm white sand beach

Loved the resort it was just what I needed after my 9 day tour of Thailand. Check in was fast and easy and got my room right away. It had 2 pool areas both beautiful and big trees lining the white sand beach. We ate at the seaside restaurant that night and had the best fish and chips ever. There were places to eat and shop right behind the resort very convenient, the location was perfect and not a crazy party place.

Very nice hotel! Good place to stay with kids! Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices. Also had signs with allergy info as we were travelling with our son who has a peanut allergy. Right on the beach and has very nice swimming pool. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Good Location

Very disappointed by the bad hotel policy (seemingly verbal only!) of not letting anyone from outside to visit your room unless they checked in and paid for the night as a guest. This is not written anywhere!, so you couldn't have known this before booking. I only discovered this by being yelled at by reception when I asked a friend of mine to come up while I grabbed some things before we went out. This isn't acceptable. Most hotel practice is usually to ask for an ID which verifies the person so there is no problem. I may not have booked this hotel if I had known this in advance but it was a complete surprise last minute so had no choice in the matter - far from acceptable! Additionally, the attitudes of the reception staff were tactless and rudely presumptuous when I asked about the policy. Assuming that (because I was a male) that I wanted to bring a Thai lady back to the room. I took this to mean prostitute. I was a customer and they were treating me like some kind of sex tourist presumably because I was a male. I would suggest that those staff are desperately in need of training or a different career, this is certainly no way to treat customers.

Bangtao beach best western

Bangtao Beach is a quiet area away from the main beaches such as Patong. The hotel is great value for money and always kept very clean plus is well maintained. Staff are always wonderful. The beach is beautiful. There is a good selection of restaurants and bars outside the hotel but very quiet. Travel to busy areas and other beaches is easy via taxi for only around 1400 Bart for a round trip - the drivers you can contact when you are ready to return.

We booked the hotel one day before our actual arrival due to be super wary check in at 7am, we had email conversation with the hotel before but when we arrived they have considered us as a now show a day before, hence why the room was not ready and we had to wait after super long arrival/travels, very upsetting.

Reception staff really not good trained with minor English and area knowledge, we asked few questions about Phuket/Patong which find out online earlier but even be most wanted thirst they had no clue about it & made really no efforts help any further.

The hotel and the facilities are in good shape and well taken care off.

Decent pools areas with good space to swim.

F&B:
Breakfast was alright, good choice and selection of dishes, however the quality of all items where really minor.
Outlets and room service food was good, again good choice between western and Asian foods, surprising the European food was nice, but mostly we had Thai foods..:-).

Room service clearance really terrible up to 3 hours waiting for somebody to come clean the dishes....terrible.

Lack of service, Bar man Edmond pretty rude in attitude and behavior.
0 pool service for drinks, only help yourself, poll towels only twice a day can be changed...

Housekeeping even after topping, not once the mirror and glasses in the shower where cleaned off, lot of dirt after service was done was left over....

Hotel close to beach

I love the proximity of the hotel to the beach. It's very convenient for my family as I have 2 young kids, I could just whisk them between the hotel, swimming pool and beach within a few steps. The beach strip is relatively clean with well maintained beach chairs. Right inside the hotel is a 7-11, which is really convenient for us to get snacks and drinks.

However, I felt that the room was a little small for my liking and the beds a bit hard. it also lacks a bath tub which my boys love to play in.

Overall, it was a slightly better than average stay as I would credit the convenience access to the beach.

We came here for relaxing beach stay, and the hotel staffs are short-handed but are friendly, good command of English and we appreciated the free room upgrade. The hotel is full of guest from European countries, thus make you feel like you are in European beaches, although the beach is not white.

Spacious, clean, well appointed rooms. Handy location, close to the beach, next to 7/11 & massage parlour. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful. The restaurant is fantastic for lunch & dinner, very reasonably priced, no need to go outside for meals. Breakfast was equally great, wide variety to choose from. Happy hour drinks went down a treat, professionally made cocktails. Will definitely return & recommend to friends.

Just 25 minutes from airport a hidden gem. Nestled directly on the beach, with two great swimming pools. Large extremely clean rooms, great buffet breakfast and fantastic afternoon happy hour. Walk out the front door and quaint village on door stop, Seven 11, restaurants, souvenir shops and taxis to Patong. Everything you need at a great price.

Secluded, family friendly, great service

Stayed the 1 night in order to be close to Phuket Airport for our morning flight back to BKK. Reception staff couldn't do enough for you! Really happy, friendly, informative. Gave us a complimentary room upgrade with a sea and pool view as we were at the end of a 3 week trip around Thailand as a special celebration. Nice touch. Drinks on arrival, cheap airport transfer organised by the hotel. Very prompt. Breakfast buffet available, evening a la carte menu available. Pool area clean and well staffed. Family friendly hotel, a library, childrens' play toys for the pool area. Beautiful sea view, an abundance of sunbeds available for the pool and the beach but not located on the sand (literally 1 metre away so it's great for comfort and enjoying the beach without sand.. I don't mind sand but can see why families benefit from this). Some gorgeous restaurants outside the hotel (not many but we enjoyed the seclusion after 3 weeks of crazy backpacking/travelling). You don't pay for drinks/snacks with money; instead you sign each receipt and pay the total during check-out. No problems there, all accurate and secure payments even with card. Takes 20 mins to get to the airport. What can I say, it served it's purpose for us and more! The only issue was the aircon which blew out hot air. But all it took was for us to politely inform reception on our way out and on our return (less than an hour) our room was beautifully air conditioned and tidied!

Bangtao beach didn't seem to have a lot of things to do, so if you want bars this might not be the right one for you. It's perfect for families and people that want to relax though.

The breakfast was really excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was great.

Great place to stay.

I highly recommend this hotel, the staff are excellent. We arrived very early on the day of our check in, even though our room was not yet available we were given a free breakfast and full use of all the resort facilities until our room was ready. This even included free cocktails. Our room was very comfortable and clean, as was the resort. Plenty of pool chairs around the two pools and on the foreshore. This resort is right on the beach with a great breakfast room and pool bar and menu. It's location is good too, its not in the crazy hubbub of Patong but if you want some night life you can either walk up the beach to the Bliss bar or catch a taxi out the front into Patong. We will definitely be returning to this resort for another holiday.

Hotel is really far off from town very difficult to get taxi and for arranging to travel to phi phi or hames bond island they charge 25 to 30 percent more. Hotel travel agents as usual are high. Recommend for people who just want to stay inside the hotel and beach. Not suited for those want to go out mainly.

Nice hotel with good facilities and great location

We were upgraded on arrival and I was very happy with the room and facilities. Cleaning staff were very good. Good experience however I suggest you have a section of seating near pool or ocean that can NOT be reserved all day by placing a towel on chair and only used by guest for 2 hours that day. More people would get to enjoy the view in comfort.

The only good thing going were the staff

It looked like we were booking a fantastic hotel on a stunning beach. To some extent this is true, but the hotel was very crowded - and despite our hardest attempts we weren't able to get deckchairs on the beach. Instead there were countless empty deckchairs with towels on them reserved by otherwise absent guests! We were left to our own devices and had no help from staff if we wanted to find a shady spot by the pool or the beach. It contributed to a somewhat crowded and stressful (noisy) atmosphere on the hotel grounds.

We also felt the hotel management were mean and inflexible. There was a policy that you could only have one beach towel, if you lost your towel coupe you would be charged 8,000 baht! We had friends staying over the festive period in different hotels, but understandably wanted to spend time together. This wasn't possible unless you paid the hotel 8,000 baht per guest. Needless to say we spent the time together at their hotel. Later transferred to the Dusit Thanni - a paradise by contrast!

Great hotel

We had a great time at this hotel. Staff were really friendly and most helpful. Would like to make a special mention about Tes and Pawnee. The wi fi could be improved though as we often lost connection. Also the pillows in the rooms need to be much improved. Otherwise everything else was amazing and the pools and the beach great.
Would definitely return.
