We reserved a beach suite.
Firstly, I disagree that the room is a suite, it is a room with separate dressing area only.
Secondly, the quality of the room is absolutely nowhere close to being appropriate to the cost. We paid in excess of GBP1,100 per night and the overall quality of the room is way, way below that level.

A gorgeous resort tucked away in a private cove on a pretty part of the Phuket coastline. The rooms are individual cottages that are nicely designed and stylishly furnished. The staff and service are top level - professional and well trained. They could not have been nicer to us and the stay was very memorable.

EXCELLENT! The Surin does not miss a thing. Every little detail from the beach bags, hats. The pillow menu. It was all just divine.
Each and every staff member who served us was so kind.
The pool is just gorgeous and the right depth. The sun beds were so comfortable, the beach- the cleanest you’ll find in Phuket.
My partner and I dined at the beach restaurant and tried the degustation and every dish was delicious and balanced.
The place does have stairs so guessing if you were needing wheelchair access it would not suit you. But we did travel with our one year old and had no issues around the property as the carts are always available to transport you where you need to go. We would come back in a heart beat and am already dreaming of it. Thankyou Surin for an unforgettable experience.

What an amazing place. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The facilities all look very new. The location on a beautiful beach was spectacular (especially sunsets). The breakfast included traditional English, French, American and Thai options. We never ate lunch! Staff helped us make reservations at a local steak house and recommended a tailor who did excellent work. Hope to stay again some day.

Very friendly smiley staff. Always helpful.

Good range of water sports facilities (non motorized).

Only downside was noise from jet skis adjacent to hotel beach and especially the morons who insist on driving up and down along the edge of the swimming area.

Spa also great and very good massages.

Food great although the price of all-in barbecue and cocktail evening a bit steep. That said, the degustastion menu in the Thai was great vale and has to be tried.

Spectacular hotel. Set on the best beach in Phuket - essentially a private beach with only one other luxury hotel having access. The service was impeccable and incredibly friendly. Very well maintained property with excellent restaurants. As frequent travellers, of the best hotels in which we have ever stayed. I cannot recommend The Surin enough.

The staff were very attentive and showed excellent care. Where possible, they will try to help anyone.
The F&B manager went around tables to check if everyone was okay at breakfast.
The staff manning the beach and sports area gave special attention to those who crossed the line and went beyond the high waves when the red flag was up!
Loved the turndown service in the evening, with cookies and tealight.

The property has steep stairs which is tiring for the guests and to reach the cottage it takes so many steps without any elevators the constant noise from the trees hitting the cottage makes it difficult to sleep well the language communication with the staff is very hard with misunderstanding all the time the doors of the cottage always don't open properly it takes time to learn how to open it the doors in the bathroom cannot close properly will not come back to this hotel again.

Our stay here was phenomenal. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The property itself is gorgeous and the private beach, while we couldn’t swim, was really the cherry on top. Be warned, there are a lot of stairs, but the staff were happy to give us a ride back up to our room in a golf cart. I cannot say enough about the staff at this resort. Each and every one of them were kind and helpful. Every time we came back to our room, our bed was made. Every time we jumped in the infinity pool from the pool chairs, our towels were folded. The restaurants have a good variety on the menu and everything was delicious. The rooms were spotless and the amenities were great. The spa in particular was a highlight. The best massage I have ever had by far. We went to another luxury resort for dinner and it was clear we made the right choice in our stay at the Surin. They made our first experience in Phuket so memorable. I highly recommend a stay at the Surin Phuket!

The only issue we faced was the choice of vegetarian food was limited, and you have to climb and walk down a lot steps to get around the hotel, it could be difficult if you have walking issue as there is no lift in the hotel , if you are ok with this then it’s a excellent choice.

Ordinary at best. Low value for the money. Unfortunately, a lot of children throwing tantrums. A more peaceful time could be had at McDonald’s playland! (You can blame the parents of ‘Jack’ for this negative review). They do have a beautiful beach with clear calm water but unfortunately, I suffer from SBE and therefore could not go in the water (hypersensitivity to microscopic sea creatures that get caught in bathing suit and emit toxins... like mosquito biteS!). The rooms seem outdated and there is not a lot of privacy. A lot of stairs to get to your room. Nice breakfast buffet with plenty of options. The beach massage services were very good and I appreciated the beach services provided by the locals!

Much better places for the money. Poor service. No beach loungers asp people reserve them with their belongings all day when not at them. No service at your lounger. Must go up to bar every time. Food is subpar except at the Thai Beach Restaurant. Hillside cottages are a trek by foot up around 200 steps from the beach. Nothing special for that price. They are banking on their high ratings but seem to have lost good service compared to other places we stayed in Thailand and Phuket. Anantara Layan was a much better stay in Phuket.

Overall, I really like the beach and the rooms are clean. Overall a very nice hotel would definitely come back again.

Cons:
Air con is really loud. I think the noise standard in Thailand might be different to other countries. But as a hotel cater for international guests, the noise from aircon is something needs to be worked on. I got wake up by the noise a few nights.

Most of the staff are very helpful and friendly especially the water sports staff. They are great! However, we didn’t think the front desk/reception staff are that good. Everytime we spoke to them, they made us feel like we interrupted them from doing their own things.

The shampoo/shower gels etc are stored in the glass bottles that is simply reused guest after guest are not really hygiene. I like the factor that it is more environmental friendly but there need to be a better way than just keep reusing the same containers. Especially the body lotion which is in a jar without a pump. You need to dig your finger in the jar to get it out.
Again with the glass containers, the pumps are not working. Once pressed, they took a long time to come up. But one pump is just one drop of product which can not cover the whole body or hair. Basically, the bottles are really hard to use.

Pool and gym close too early.

feel unwelcome

The property looks nice BUT there are hundreds of stairs you have to climb up and down to get to your room or anywhere on the resort daily. If you are old or not in the best shape, you will definitely struggle and be out of breath at every turn. The bungalows are so close to each other that you don't get a lot of privacy. When I first checked in, I saw a naked male through the window of his bungalow right next to me.It was supposed to be ocean view, but it was partly ocean view, like you could barely see the ocean from the inside of your bungalow. You could not go in the water due to the tides. There were also lizards in our bungalow and I am terrified of lizards. I had to call the front desk 3 nights in a row so that someone could come and remove them. After that, I was very paranoid, I even found one in the shower! On the bright side, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the property is beautiful, the food was good (kind of expensive though), and the location wasn't too far from some of the places we wanted to go. I would stay somewhere else next time though.

I hesitate to leave a glowing resort only because MORE people would come to this absolute gem of a hotel. It was truly one of the best luxury resorts I have ever stayed at. The Surin is one of only a few resorts in Phuket that sits directly on the beach. It's an expansive all villa property that spans the highlands down to the beach. Food and service is fantastic. I highly recommend having dinner at the property's beach restaurant. Very romantic with the sound of ocean waves and candle light. It's a great resort for families and couples. Keep in mind, the resort and rooms are a bit dated and showing some age. It's a quiet beach, but if you need action, Patong is only a 20 minute drive south.

The Surin is the best beach resort hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff is incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful, with a staff to guest ratio I would estimate to be 3 to 1, minimum. The breakfast buffet, included with the room rate, is a fabulous mix of Thai, European, and American cuisine. The attention to detail at this hotel is extraordinary, including hand crafted baskets containing coconut milk rice for breakfast and offering guests free appetizers, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages everyday at 4:00 pm, which are actually filling enough that one may choose not to eat dinner. Turn-down service is provided, including a cute, small bag of cookies with a miniature close pin keeping the bag closed. Our hillside cottage was very private, quiet, spacious and comfortable with a modern Thai feel. The semi-private beach is one of the best in Phuket, and the hotel offers free boogie boards, stand up paddle boards, and kayaks. There are a few fish along the north and south rocks which line the bay, which may be viewed while snorkeling in the absolutely perfect turquoise colored water. The only thing I would point out is this property is not appropriate for anyone with physical limitations as there are stairs everywhere and no elevators.

住的滨海别墅，打开窗就是私人沙滩和大海，晚上也可以听到海浪的声音，私密性也很好，无可挑剔。
海浪有点大，不推荐下海游泳,沙滩上有小螃蟹和寄居蟹，拍个照就好，也不要打扰这些小动物。
酒店工作人员的服务态度超级好，需要什么帮助打个电话到前台就好了，每天也有不同的活动让你参加，基本上真的不用出门。
早餐除了一般的自助还有额外的菜单可以单独点，算是很有细节的一个地方吧。
最值得推荐的是酒店的Spa，服务态度、手法、细节，全满分。
至于剩下的，免费minibar，免费红酒，免费鸡尾酒，免费Spa...
这个算是我其中一个常驻酒店吧~ 来普吉就认准他了。

Have stayed here before and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Phuket. Just an amazing resort with management and staff that figured out how to make the experience perfect for their guests. Can't say enough good things about it - wonderful and caring staff, spacious rooms with comfortable bedding, wonderful amenities, great restaurants, amazing pool, breathtaking views - looks like it is settles on the beach surrounded by rainforest! Only drawback is that there are a lot of stairs to climb up and down, but if you are not that fit they respond very quickly and pick you up by little golf cart type of vehicles which can take you to on-site restaurant or main lobby if you call. Again, just a wonderful facility and I can't say enough good things about it!

Almost perfect experience and nothing to complain about when it comes to service and rooms. Absolutely beautiful! However,beach was crowded when we were there, probably due to peak period and difficult to get beach chairs. Folks “booking” them with towels early in the morning probably left a bit more to be desired. Jet ski and water sports run by neighbouring resort so does not allow charges to be signed to room, so bring cash to the beach!!

“Private Beach” ... Not So Much

From the moment we checked into the Surin for a 3-night stay, it was a terrible experience. Rude staff that couldn’t initially find our reservation, tired rooms that need a renovation and locals hawking goods/services along the beach. Felt like I was in a 3-star hotel in the Dominican Republic. We checked out early - with much hassle - and checked into Trisara for what was a blissful stay. Avoid if you’re looking for a lovely, luxurious experience.

Amazing hotel with incredibly clean, private beach. Great views, clean and beautiful room, with extremely helpful service. Would recommend without reservation to anyone.

Perfect honeymoon location

Great hotel with wonderful staff. Beach is beautiful. Great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Buffett breakfast was terrific. Stairs may be an issue for some people.

Beautiful cottages next to The Surin beach.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Very quiet and romantic. Food is UNBELIEVABLE. The cottages the have are on Surin beach which is not open to the public and only shared with one other hotel. My wife and I spent a full day scootering to beaches and Surin beach was honestly the most picturesque one we found. Absolutely incredible.

Fabulous boutique resort on amazing beach

Loved every minute. Intimate but offered a variety of amenities and activities from yoga to boogie boards and even a complimentary cocktail party on Friday night where we met the manager. Beach is gorgeous and very private. Highly recommended!!

Private and exclusive stay

I'm so glad my husband and I picked this picture-perfect property for our 15th wedding anniversary. It has its own private beach and felt so exclusive. No dodgy characters or vendors prowling on the beach. Greeted with crashing waves, gentle breeze, warm sun, soft fine sand, and music from crickets in the hillside every day. It was such a relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this property. Only regret was, I should have booked the beachside cottage!

Great hotel - staff extremely helpful - food/drink a bit pricey - felt well pampered and rested. Easy short taxi trip to Bangtaos cheaper restaurants - few steps but keeps you fit (our 2yr old managed fine)
