The location is amazing if you want to stay out of the party scene, the hotel has direct access to the beach which was a huge plus. The buffet has more bread and fruit options than meats, still great options. Overall a great experience.

We chose to stay at Novotel expecting a reputable and comfortable experience, but unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. We had booked an Executive Twin Room, which turned out to be located in a low-grade building that felt more like a two-star property.

While the hotel appears appealing from the outside, once you enter, the rooms are located extremely far from the main area. I was not aware that only the ocean-facing rooms are in the main, higher-standard building. We had to change rooms three times due to a persistent damp smell in most of them, which was very frustrating after a 10-hour journey.

The staff was not particularly cooperative during this process, which added to the disappointment. On a positive note, the restaurant food and breakfast service were excellent — both in quality and hospitality.

Overall, apart from the dining experience, the stay fell far below expectations for a Novotel-branded hotel.

The Novotel is set in a lovely beach. We had a lovely 4 night stay there. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great! The only thing is the hotel is tired and needs a renovation in my opinion. Lots of broken flooring around the pool. Light fittings in the pool coming loose. Really slippy tiles behind pool bar. It was reasonably priced but probably because of the condition. Our room was upgraded which was lovely. The room was clean but again - tired. Overall had a lovely time!

As a single woman, I was initially given a room in the farthest building, where I had to walk through a very long and dark corridor. When I asked to change rooms, the receptionist ignored me and stared at her nails as if I were bothering her.

The Novotel Kamala has a great beach (Beach #1). Easy to walk to restaurants. Twins restaurant on the beach has an awesome seafood glass noodle salad. Cafe Del Mar has changed. They fenced off the whole operation so no beach access. Only via the front street entry where you’re subject to search and wristbands. No thanks. Instead had dinner one night at Shimmer. It’s part of montezure hotel. Awesome sunset view with dinner. Expensive for Thailand. 4,400 baht for two. Unfortunately, when got back to room, got sick and pucked dinner. 3 weeks in Thailand, never had problems with delicious Thai food. The blue crab yellow curry ended up in the toilet and on the floor.

The hotel location was just what we wanted. It wasn't crowded and we pretty much have the beach to ourselves most days.

The bed were comfortable but the pillows were really lumpy. They needed to update those.

The pool was in the smaller size but as we were there in the off season, it didnt pose too many issues. The beach being so close made it okay. Some of the lounger needed to be updated as it was sagging and found the bar across was digging into our back, unless you have rolled up a few towels.

Staff were really lovely and attentive.

Food was lovely most of the time but there days that food was too salty. I ordered Spaghetti and Pad Krapao and they were very salty. I loved the sticky rice and mango and my kids loved the club sandwich. I wish the menu hada bit more options for Thai food. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options but only offered full cream milk for coffee. If you are lactose intolerant, you will need to provide your own milk.

Overall, I was happy with the hotel and staff. I would go back again for sure.

This hotel is everything you want in Phuket. We were upgraded to a villa with a private pool and I am certain next time we come back (we will!) that is what I will reserve.
The beach is wonderful, there are many options of local restaurants and bars you can walk to form here- but if you want to stay, the hotel also offers very good food.
The staff is very friendly and eager to help, the gym is very well equipped and while we didn’t use the pool (we had our own pool), the view and ambiance from the pool was great too.
Great location, I recommend the surfing lessons, and while the area is alive wharves many people waking in the beach, it’s still quiet and relaxing. Definitely the best place to stay in Phuket.

The hotel was very outdated and dirty. We didnt sleep comfortably as it was very itchy to sleep on the bed during the first night (We suspected it was dust-mite) We asked the hotel to change the bedsheet and the second night was okay. The kids club was dirty and really rundown as well. A lot of mosquito and ants in the kids club.

Also the overall facility was dirty and outdated. The staffs were the best part as they were helpful and friendly. However the front staffs requested as to pay for the room on spot (the room was paid on hotels.com prior to the arrival) and it took us ~20 mins to explain and show them the payment receipts ...etc.

Also two groups of guests checked in at the same time with us and both got upgraded as they booked directly with the hotel. We were told that they do not upgraded bookings made via third party.

Not the prettiest Hotel and I feel more 3* than 4*

Having travelled around Thailand, and staying in some lovely hotels (some with a lesser *rating), we were a little disappointed with this hotel. It's more western style (think lego land) than Thai style and is showing signs of wear. That said, once we pointed out the problems with our room we were quickly moved to a better room. On the positive side, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the position is very pleasant...right on the beach, and the food was quite good too!

A very tired looking hotel. Quality of the building and finishes is poor. For example, the glue was still left in the tiles in the bathroom, there was mould in the silicone and grouting.
Pillows and towels old and poor quality. However, staff were friendly and helpful, some in the restaurant did not speak or understand English . Excellent location. The foyer should be air conditioned and decor needs updating.

We love the pool areA and easy access to the beach. The hotel lobby looks inviting, open and beautiful. However, surprisingly the room is really outdated and can use a makeover. The first room we got was small and dark. The bathroom was not so cleaned has some mold. There's a private pool in which we have to walk out to the balcony and up the stairs. The stairs were very slippery and dangerous...I slipped and fell and hurt my ankle. The pool from our room is not inviting at all and has no furniture, which is a waste. After the fall and find the pool is not usable we requested a different room. Without hesitation, they upgraded us an ocean view room but not until the next day due to room unavailability. The staff was so kind, attentive, and concern... After I told them I fell they sent a note apologizing and gave us a plate of fruit. This hotel would be outstanding if they upgrade it and better maintaining it. Thank you to all the staff for being so helpful, friendly, and attentive.

Loved our private ocean villa. Hated that there was a black swamp sewage river that flowed right in front of the hotel. At night time you couldn’t even cross it because it was so wide. Smelled absolutely AWFUL! Everything needs updates and cleaned too. But room service was great. And food was very good. The breakfast they have in the morning had a lot of options and fresh fruit.

We were at Novotel Kamala from 23.10 - 27.10 for our honeymoon. We booked a standart room via Expedia but when we came to the hotel, the Front Office Manager made an upgrade to a better and bigger room with Oceanview (room nr 127). This room was so nice and had the direct view to the ocean and every morning we had an amazing view. It was our first time ever in Thailand and this stay was just positive. The beach is amazing, we took a lot of pictures all the time, there was a very fancy cafe nearby (Cafe Del Mar) and the hotel is located at the end of the beach so it was very relaxing and not noisy at all. The staff was excellent, the service very good and our room was always clean, we had free water all the time (3 bottles a day) and the food at the restaurant was very delicious. On our last day we went to the spa for a couple massage and it was the first time ever we got a massage done. We loved the massage and the therapists were very kind and professional. We hope that we can come again to this magical place !!

From the moment we arrived, which was late in the evening, they greeted us with that exceptional Thai service. From the cold towel and refreshing tea they served at check in to the accommodations and friendliness, everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. When we noticed some ants outside by our private jacuzzi, they sent staff over to spray and sweep immediately. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The food was good, particularly their Thai basil dish. The only complaint was when we were dropped off by our touring company, they dropped us off at the gate and we had to walk the long steep hill back to the lobby. Would have been nice to have let the van into the property or sent a cart to pick us up. Would definitely recommend staying here for both couples and families. Definitely upgrade to the private villas for those amazing views.

We had some water leaking into the room when we first checked in. Fortunately, the staff immediately started preparing the next door room for us, and we had no further water issues after changing room. The manager (Paul), also checked in with us regularly to ensure everything was alright.

Soul Kitchen also had really good food. The best we ate on the entire trip. Desert was also surprisingly nice.

There's also a counter that helps with bookings for island hopping and FantaSea etc. Very easy and hassle free.

The hotel is not really near any shops though, and the main road is hard to walk with all the traffic and no sidewalk. Fortunately, there is a shuttle bus to Patong Central, just remember to book at the counter early to get it's limited seats.

The beach is very near, which is just outside the swimming pool. Water is not clear though (we went in Sep), but still kinda fun to play among the waves. You will need to go island hopping to see clearer waters and fishes.

Overall, a decent hotel with excellent service from the staff. You will feel very welcome here.
