Great place to bring kids. Staff were super friendly and helpful (shout out to Ding at the pool bar!). Great location, walkable to many restaurants and shops. We loved the kids club and the pools. Only recommendation would be to maintain/update some things (kids club sand toys were broken, ping pong table falling apart, bathroom was a bit dated, etc) but otherwise this place is perfect for families with kids.

Sunwing Kamala resort was perfect for a family break in Phuket. The hotel has a number of pools to choose from, slides, kids entertainment, and kids clubs for all ages. The location is perfect, situated on a beautiful stretch of beach, with lots of options for shopping and eating near by. 7 even 3 minute walk, a local night market Monday to Friday right outside, you cannot ask for more.

This resort is amazing and by far the best resort we've stayed at. Our family had a great experience staying here for the 2nd time.

Check in was quick and easy and the rooms are spacious, clean and the best were very comfortable.

Plenty of pools and chairs so you never struggle to find a place to sit by the pool.

The staff are incredible! So kind and helpful and always saying hello when you walk past.

The Buffet breakfast was delicious with so many choices it never got boring.

I really couldn't fault the resort or the staff. I will defintely be staying here again!

Kids eat free if you dine in at the hotel restaurant. The hotel is card only but most places out and about are cash. Overall a great holiday and would definitely go back. About an hour transfer from the Airport.

We had a great experience staying at Sunwing. First we stayed at their beach bungalow as our 3 children love to be close to the beach, then we moved to the pool access family deluxe rooms. Renelyn from customer service was amazing helping with room recommendation and managing all accommodations for us. the hotel staff was very friendly and attentive to all of our needs. I will definitely stay there again.

Overall, it was a great experience. I had an upgrade room, which was nice from the hotel, and i really appreciate it, but the only disappointment thing was the bathroom shower box and sink was not draining , they manage to fix the sink but bathroom shower box was not draining , i was pushed to take a shower in a couple of mins to leave the shower before it gets drowning !

We stayed in Sunwing Kamala Beach with our two kids for two weeks.The staff looked after us very well from the very first moment until the end of the holiday.

Rooms are very spacious and clean.
Pools are big and kids definitely enjoyed 3 water slides in the resort.
Resort is right on the beach but unfortunately Sunwing Kamala doesn’t have any sun beds. On the same time it was great to see hotel staff taking care of the rubbish on the beach to keep beach as clean as possible.

Breakfast buffet had options for everyone, lunch and dinner options in the restaurant had a great selection of Thai or International dishes. Complimentary kids a la carte was a nice touch.
It was our first time in Thailand and we had mixed expectations prior to our holiday but I have to say Sunwing Kamala Beach Resort is on the top of their game. I would definitely recommend it for the families with kids as it is very “family oriented” hotel.
I also would like to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU to all the staff in the resort but particularly to FON who looked after us and take care of us very well. Beside of the taste of the dishes her warm and friendly service brought us to dine in the hotel restaurant several times a day rather than eating outside of the hotel. I come from the hospitality business and those staff members are the key of success once it comes to the service. So please keep her as long as you can.

Peaceful Resort but away from the main town.

We stayed as a family of four(2 adults & 2 kids) .Hotel room was perfect for our family and the staff was friendly and accommodating.Hotel has good entertainment for children ,the only hitch we felt was the hotel location was far away from the famous attractions in Phuket,at least 30 minutes drive. Beach is accessible from the hotel and there is food street in walkable distance.Overall good experience.

We stayed in a 'royal pool suite'. It was amazing! Get out of bed and jump in the pool! Free water in fridge every day and good service. FantaSea and Carnival just over the road. Markets outside the hotel 3x a week. They have souvenirs, clothing, gadgets and an awesome food isle. Hotel is close to/at the beach, but the front beach side is reserved for travellers over 16 yrs old. The back side is for families with kids. Very good fun with the 3 big water slides, pool bar and kid's activities. We didn't book any meals here. We just went to restaurants and shops outside. Would definitely come back here.

The place is in very good condition. The facility is well taken care of and it is super big! The buffet is awesome, the pool is beautiful with big slides. The vibes are amazing for kids with kids clubs and activities. Very punctual and well-priced transportation to and from the airport. Reception very helpful and responsive. Rooms are clean, spacious and very cozy.
The one thing I did not like is that although the hotel has beach access they do not have umbrellas at the beach. If I want to use the beach I need to rent form Sun Prime which is right beside them and that did not make much sense to me.

The property stunk of sewerage. The curtains are not block out curtains - they did not reach the floor. The rooms are not sound proof. You can hear everyone talking from the next door rooms and from the corridor. Bed sheets were stained and dirty. I requested and confirmed two single beds but got a king. There is a kids club but I felt it wasn't clean. Restaurant food was not of a good quality. Buffet breakfast was average at best. Kids meals were not fresh. Pools were extremely hot from the sun. No shading.

Kid wonderland at this hotel - everything you can imagine to make a kids holiday fantastic meant Mum and Dad were relaxed. Wifi was OK but you would have to pay extra for streaming. Disney channel was shown on 2 screens in the restaurant so parents can read the menu and eat. Kids club and activities were like good quality daycare. Massage on the beach was excellent and the same price or cheaper than down the road or along the beach - they did kids mani/pedi/hair braiding while Mum and Dad got massages! The mini shop had everything we wanted at quite reasonable prices. I counted 8 pools if you include the really shallow one with a seal fountain for kids. The staff were amazing at handling stressed parents and jetlagged kids. The yoga was in the neighbouring property (10 metres through reception) which was the adult version of this resort so you could escape the kids. Wow! What a fun, relaxing holiday we had.

We liked that the property was kids friendly and catered for family, but the property needed to be updated as the room we stayed in was very dated and needs modernising.
The power in our room went off a several times during our stay and the air conditioning system leaked onto the floor next to our bed.
The paint was peeling off the wall below the air conditioning system where it was leaking and damp walls below the air con system where it looked to have been painted over.

Very nice hotel. We were there in 14dage and our daughter so we almost did not because she was too busy with everything that was happening around her. Subjects to be playing with kids is really talented. If you are a great inflatables, there is ample opportunity to get a dip in the hotel's many pools. Every Thursday there is a market right next to the hotel, so one could get their appetites controlled with a good deal. But otherwise it is only 5 mins walk to town. We will certainly recommend this hotel for families traveling with children

Tuk tuk's waiting outside to take you anywhere. Only 25 mins to Patong & Fantasea 750 meters up the road.

I didn’t like how they make you use cards for pool towels, especially that they don’t offer towel service after 6 pm !! So you may end-up losing the towel or the card and then pay for it !

Also I got food poisoning from eating from the restaurant next to the pool, I had a cheeseburger. I stayed sick for 5 days, that ruined the rest of my holiday.

Perfect Family Getaway

We had an amazing time at Sunwing. There was a plenty to do for kids and adults alike. The pools and slides were safe for kids and big/deep enough for adults to have a decent swim.
The onsite restaurant offers a huge breakfast buffet catering for absolutely anyone. We had all our dinners there too. All delicious and fresh. Kids (all under 12) ate free.
I would definitely come back and will recommend Sunwing to my friends and family.

Another great stay at the Sunwing

Our third trip to a Sunwing and this time it was just as great as all the rest. Good service, great value, lots to do for families and children. Overall, an excellent vacation. The ONLY downside was that our AC unit occasionally made a loud knocking sound that caused a few issues our first night. That aside, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and well taken care of. The performance staff and the people working in the kids club were exceptional and seemed to truly enjoy what they were doing. The beach was excellent. Clear water, soft sand, lots of dining options. The town is small but fun to walk around. Kamala Beach and the Sunwing in general are excellent spots to relax with a family. We'll be back again!

The beach is right behind the resort and a short walk around the beach leads you to a street filled with shops and restaurants. The rooms are massive and very clean. My family and I had so much fun at Sunwing!

My family and I stayed at Sunwing Resort for 4 nights! The facility and workers were very professional and accomodating, and they were quick to send up help to our room when our shower drain started backing up with water, due to sand. It is a FAMILY resort, so there were kids everywhere which was great for my own child! He loved the pools with the slides and played on them every day that we were at the resort! There is a very large open air restaurant underneath the rooms which has a professional kitchen and serves many types of food and has a great buffet for all meals. The breakfast buffet is extensive and free!! It felt very all inclusive, with the great restaurant and a bar on site with plenty of food, and a small store on the premises, more pools than I can count, two locations with numerous massage therapist that were GOOD, and a walking path straight to a gorgeous beach! The cost of our room felt very affordable for what the resort has to offer. I was impressed by Sunwing Family Resort and am excited to know about it and to make a return trip in the future!

Nice hotel near to beach and town area.

- Overall hotel experience is good. They have so many pools that you can try one every day. The grounds are well maintained.
- The hotel is just a stone throw away to the beach and you can get a massage along the way. Full body massage was 300 Bhat for an hour.
- Just a walk away to a nearby town where you can find restaurants, shops and travel agents.
- The restaurant staff could be nicer e.g offer to find seating for a family of 6. I had to ask 2 - 3 staff before I got a seat. Food spread was decent but limited to mostly western dishes. Very little asian cuisine.
- What was a big \"Wow\" for us was the daily live performances. My young boys really enjoyed the shows.
- Rooms - beds are comfortable, toilet facilities and mini-kitchen are good but the room decoration could be better. Wifi would be really good to have. A little more light would be good too and a bluetooth speaker would have been a nice touch.

Booked this hotel with another family with a total of 4 young kids and everything was great. If you don't have kids or don't like being around kids, don't stay here. Lots of pools, slides and such to keep the kids happy. Nightly entertainment that was not spectacular but entertaining. The food at the breakfast buffet was pretty good and the Thai food for dinner was just as good as surrounding restaurants and the price was the same. The western food was not that good and a little on the expensive side. There's a night market down the street on Friday and Sunday nights that's pretty cool. The rooms are large and the king size bed is practically the size of 2 queens put together. Everything was kept clean and neat. My only complaint is that they don't have wash cloths so bring your own if you use them to wash in the shower. All in all this hotel was an extremely good value and a great place to stay for families.

Perfect for a stress free family trip.

This is the first time we have done a \"family resort holiday\" & it was great. Perfect for anyone with small children. Lots to keep them busy. Note: if you book any tours/day trips (with external operators) you will likely have to pay a small additional transfer fee as the hotel is out of central Phuket. It's worth the peace and quiet to be staying out of the madness. Depending on tide - the beach at the hotel can be dirty. We preferred the pool. We travelled off-peak & resort seemed only about 30-40% full. It was peaceful enough & had enough of a vibe to keep us entertained. Unfortunately the hallways can get noisy as people let their kids scream and run up and down till the late hours. I would imagine in peak season the hotel would be intense. Highly recommend travelling in late Oct. Weather is hot enough & only the occasional late afternoon shower. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Hotel menu is decent. Cocktails are sensational. Family friendly but won't come back here again

Family friendly. The room was big. We upgraded to happy baby which is near by kids club and baby pool. There are baby stroller, baby bathtub, baby seat which is really good for toddlers. Our room had a problem with air-conditioning but need to be fixed 4 times in the middle of the night so we moved to the new room and got dinner for complementary. But the restaurant can't really cook steak. They don't know how to cook medium rare beef. My husband ordered seafood soup and it was so salty. Once is enough for this hotel. we won't come back here again.

Great for families

Two kids aged 5 and 7 loved it, as did us parents. 3 awesome, big waterslides and 7 pools with different atmospheres. Something for everyone.

Family friendly resort

Big size of swimming pool. There are 4 different slides and my children liked them.
They have open air massage spa and worth to try. They are amazing.

Budget family friendly hotel

Hotel is run down definitely needs upgrading. The food is very average. The staff are all helpful and friendly. This is a great place if you are on a tight budget, not fussy and want your kids entertained. it's about a 20 minute drive to Patong and 45-60 minutes to most activities. Phuket fantasea is right around the corner.

Sunwing Kamala beach was PERFECT for a family with smaller children. One of our daughters has a nut allergy and we were more than comfortable that her health and safety was not comprimised in anyway.

Excellent choice for family with children

The hotel was amazing. Room was great. Even a family of 4 would find it spacious. A 1m tall family fridge. Utensils for children. And the pool is right in front of the balcony. The pools were big and built with slides for different ages. Price of massage in the hotel was same as those around. Restaurant was cheap too. Taxi was always available in the hotel, of course price was same (sometimes even cheaper!) than those outside. Kamala Beach was right next to the hotel. The only two thing not good I could think of was the wave was too strong for swimming or snorkeling. And the breakfast buffet was just ok.

The hotel provided a lot of free children activities from day to night (magic show. Little disco. Kids club... Blah blah blah). Though I didnt have time to join any of them, it was too thoughtful for a family to stay in.

It would be an excellent choice for family, and even familiessss to have a trip together.

Would not recommend- tired, old hotel

I did not enjoy my time at this hotel;
Pre-booked hotel transfer showed up an hour and half late.
Water leaked from the air con unit on day 1, a significant amount of water fell on to the bed side table including lamp & wall socket. It took an hour for the front desk to send somebody by.
Room riddled with mozzies, killed about 8 within the first hour.
Buffet breakfast - probably the worst I've ever had in any south East Asian country; at 8am when there was plenty of turnover the food was stone cold, not luke warm - COLD!
Food in restaurant was poor quality, Pad Thai and the green curry (2 local staples) were lack luster and lacking flavour. The pizza my son had was undercooked and doughy.
Slides in pool are showing signs of wear & tear, should have been replaced years ago.
Awning over restaurant was very badly stained and again needed replacing years ago
Most of the staff were quite friendly.

We checked out after only 2 nights and moved to a similarly priced hotel not very far and enjoyed the rest of our holiday.

Kids friendly hotel

Great stay at Sunwing with our kids. Very clean hotel with friendly stuff. Great breakfast, huge pool, nice beach. Very big and spacious room. Only issue no internet in the room and because of that everyone is sitting in the lobby. Recommend families with kids
