Simple hotel but the exclusive suite had an amazing view. The welcome drink and sweets in room was nice. Located was fairly quiet but lots to do around.

Lost a star for charging us unknown expense at checkout with no explanation written down of the mystery charge. It wasn’t much but we had a cab to catch to the airport and didn’t have time to argue. That’s dissapointing even though it wasn’t much. They should keep track of charges they want to charge you.

Airport shuttle easy to find and efficient. The front of the hotel is hidden between shops/bars and the little alley to the front door is very off putting with scooters and clutter everywhere.
WiFi good and fast. Staff always friendly and very helpful.
Room was very clean but needs a little update and tidy.

This hotel is a little gem in Kamala. Everything about it was excellent for us. Some have noted a “trashy” entrance alley, but it was convenient to be able to walk in from the street and quieter to be set back from the bustle. The “trash” in a stairway off the alley is just household stuff from the people living in the apartment above. It’s not garbage. We never saw a single rat, and very little litter anywhere. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the rooms were beautiful. We had two adjoining on the ground floor, and the only sound we heard in 4 days was the surf, steps away from our patios out the back of the rooms. The pool is clean and extremely well maintained, and with outdoor showers, a great way to clean up after swimming in the sea. The bed was firm and comfortable, sheets pristine, bathroom fitted with spa tub and rain shower. There was a mini fridge, kettle, and complementary water, tea, coffee. Out the front door and down the short alley, you are right on Na Hat Road, easy walking to many restaurants, shops, massage parlors. It’s about 3 minutes to the taxi stand where there is always someone willing to take you where you want to go. If we are ever back in Phuket, we’ll stay here again in a heartbeat.

The property is run down and not secure anyone can walk in off the street or beach. The rooms ac was turned off when we arrived so it was extremely hot and uncomfortable for the first few hours. The receptionist charged us 120 bhat for 2 very small bottles of water when we checked out that we hadn’t drank and when challenged about it she threatened to phone the police if we didn’t pay. Overall very disappointed especially with the treatment over the water.

This property gives you the experience of being in a beachfront location in a basic setting. The property was nice and clean, however, due to being so close to the beach and the damp smell in the room I was worried about the air quality of their air condition system. The customer service was ok, not friendly and accommodating in the way that you would interact with other locals. If you are looking for a modern style, this may not be the place. With being beachfront you see a lot of tourists walking by the back patio often throughout the day, so if you prefer more privacy this is not the location. You are in fact right in a touristy district so you can pretty much walk up and down the strip and have access to pretty much everything. Location is ideal if you want to be right on the beach. The room decor was basic in comparison to other nicer hotels for the same price. They could have added more rocks in the interior river rock pocket. I would still recommend this hotel to those wanting the experience of what was mentioned above.

Make sure you stay on second floor. It’s right on beach walkway and lots of foot traffic going by. Tiny tiny pool for tiny hotel. This is not a resort. Staff is friendly and fulfill every request. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable like concrete. And seating in room the same. Steps from beach, restaurants and bars. But loud deep bass from nearby bar can be heard. Loved the views and sound of waves but not very relaxing

Not a 4 star hotel

This was a 4 night stay and we expected more from a 4 star hotel. The entrance was hard to find, you had to drag your luggages through a small alley to get to the front door. Check in was pretty fast, the staff is friendly & polite. We booked the pool access room which was clean, roomy but a little dated. Breakfast was alright, limited selection but they serve it to your room or you can choose to eat in the common area.

The hotel is located right by the beach and there are many restaurants you can walk to which is a plus. 7-11 was right around the corner. I did not see an elevator to second floor so you probably have to carry your luggages up. Also no alcohol sold at the hotel but you are welcome to purchase from outside and drink on property (first for us) They also have laundry service on site which was convenient.

Overall it was okay. I would probably stay for a 1 or 2 night trip but no more than that.

Small, simple, but immaculate hotel, with comfortable and spotless rooms, and the most beautiful views of Kamala Beach and sunsets. Ask for a room on the second floor to get the view. Super friendly staff, starting with JOY, who made us feel at home when we checked in, and made us smile a lot explaining everything in the room. Then wonderful Lita, Amar, and intern student Moona, all super friendly. Breakfast is good value for the price, enough for starting the day ready to enjoy the beach and sightseeing. Location is great for restaurants, shopping, massage, bars, everything closes before midnight, so quiet enough for us. The only reason giving a 4 star to the location is the Bar 99 downstairs, is noisy, some weed smell coming from there, so we couldn't sit at our balcony at times, and we saw their staff throwing garbage at the river right beside, which of course ends up going to the beach. Not Layalina's hotel fault at all, but didn't enjoy that part. Otherwise, would definitely return.

Loved the location of this hotel, step out the door to the beach and the ocean view was just lovely from the room. It was really nice to be able to order breakfast the night before to be delivered to the room, enjoyed eating breakfast on the balcony with a view. Kamala beach is a great place to swim and sun, lots of restaurants around and plenty of massage places, including some right on the beach. Quiet area at night. Staff were friendly.

Location was very good, across footbridge to beach. Restaurants, shopping and massages all only metres away from front door. Reception , housekeeping an dining staff, all very friendly and helpful. we had upstairs room, which was spacious. Two negatives, one was that locals use the walkway between main road and hotel access to beach as a public thoroughfare even though there is a sign at front entrance stating \"private property\". Secondly the bathroom was the worst I have encountered due to the configuration. As you enter bathroom, you open door and to side is a spa bath that is the width of the room. that's good. One step into the bathroom and you are standing in the shower, which has a back wall and one side wall that separates it from the vanity. The problem arises when you shower the water sprays onto the bathroom door and or if left open on to the floor in the hallway. The door opens onto the wall separating the show and vanity, so to access the toilet/vanity section, you have to step into the shower so you can close the door to get to the toilet/vanity.

We enjoyed the deck with an amazing beachfront view, the quirky spiral staircase from our own room to a private rooftop lanai (which could have easily been improved with a bit of ambiance - it only had faux plastic green grass flooring and two old lounge chairs). This hotel was conveniently located right in the center of a colorful cute town; amongst a market nearby and plenty of booths and fine restaurants. The staff were friendly and kind - also thankfully accommodating us with a safe place to put our luggage and permission to hang at pool most of the day while we awaited a late afternoon flight.

The hotel itself is pleasant and in a reasonably quiet spot at one end of Kamala Beach. Room was comfortable and staff friendly. Beach towels provided, which was very nice - as well as a hammock for the balcony, which my husband enjoyed. However, the breakfast was minimal and the pool was out of service. Workers were pounding/hammering near it; very noisy. The area (and not just near the hotel) suffers from an occasional sewer smell, but not inside the room, which was much appreciated. Be prepared for lots of tourists at this beach!

All in all, if you are looking for a smaller place away from some of the crowds that has nice rooms and staff, and don’t want/need extra amenities, the Layalina would be a good choice.

Walkable flat beaches. They have a paved path to some street shopping. Bring cash as most merchant will not take credit cards. Currency exchange near by. The water is warm. In front of the motel is a clear view of the ocean. We ate breakfast there with a clear view of the Ocean. Motel property in excellent condition. Staff were friendly and helpful. Helped us with transportation to our next stop.

Layalina Hotel: Prime Location with Room for Improvement

**Pros:**
- Unbeatable location right on Kamala Beach, providing stunning ocean views.
- The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and eager to help, making the stay more enjoyable.
- Foodies will love the nearby dining options—Ponds for authentic Thai cuisine and the wood-fired pizza across from the hotel, both of which are must-tries.
- The premium suites are particularly comfortable, offering a touch of luxury amidst the natural beauty.

**Cons:**
- Unfortunately, the hotel is located right at the opening of a water runoff canal. While this might not bother everyone, it can be unsightly and at times, luckily the wind is strong enough so there isnt an unpleasant odor.
- The beach directly in front of the hotel often has litter, mostly plastic debris washed up from the ocean, which detracts from the otherwise beautiful setting. But walk about 5 minutes down the beach and it is beautiful.

**Overall:**
Layalina Hotel offers a beachfront paradise in Phuket with excellent service and convenient dining options nearby. However, the sewage canal and the cleanliness of the beach are notable downsides. If these issues were addressed, this hotel would undoubtedly be a top choice for a relaxing Phuket getaway. For those considering a stay, the premium suite is worth the extra splurge for added comfort and a better overall experience.

We stayed in Hotel Layalina for two nights - one at the beginning of our trip to Southern Thailand, and one night a week later before flying to Bangkok - and we couldn't recommend the place more!

The hotel is *very* comfortable, and clean. The location blew my mind - so close to the beach. The staff were amazing - so kind, courteous and helpful. They organised multiple transfers for us.

I'm not a big fan of Kamala Beach as a whole - and I wouldn't necessarily go back there but if I did I'd definitely stay in Layalina again!! Thank you so much!!!

A wonderful stay in Kamala. Staff was excellent, views are some of the best in the area. Location could not have been better. The only thing I feel would be an improvement would be if they were to change the breakfast menu. Staying for a number of days the menu got a little old but I must say the breakfast was excellent all the same. Had a wonderful time. All and all I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay in Kamala.

Wonderful hotel, as close to the beach as you can get without actually sleeping on it.
Amazing view from the room over the ocean, which was lovely to wake up to every morning.

The staff are all excellent and attentive, check in was quick and I was shown around my room as part of the arrival process. Check out was also swift and easy.

The location for the hotel is perfect. The are is very quiet with a very beautiful beach. The are is also family friendly with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff there were very helpful, friendly, spoke very good english, and took care on any issue that came up. Make sure to rent a motorbike to save money instead of using taxis, unless you are going far away from the hotel. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the main mall on the island and the Pattaya bar area. Down the road from a 7/11. This is a perfect location if you want a relaxing vacation on the beach.

The hotel is located right on Kamala beach, at an end of the beach to almost feel like it is a private beach. Amazing location with an amazing view of the sunset. Stayed there for 3 nights in Aug-2019.

My concerns with the hotel are:
1. They do not have a bar, or serve alcohol. We need to get our own booze from the nearby 7-11.
2. Breakfast will be served in room, on the balcony (which is amazing with the sea view in the morning). The problem being we have to give our requirements the night before and the time at which it should be served. I'd rather prefer a buffet breakfast at whatever time I wake up on during a vacation.
3. The staff was least helpful in arranging for any of the activities. They did not seem too interested in getting us to do anything other than stay there comfortably, which is not all I want from a vacation stay.

But overall the facility is good. The staff is very friendly and did everything to make our stay over there as comfortable as possible.

The view of the hotel was the best thing. Waking up to the view of the beautiful beach was the best ever and of course the nice staff.
Although we were shocked when we got to the hire to see that the entrance is basically a little gutter in between 2 buildings like there is no street entrance and a loading area to get off the car and bring your stuff down. There was some kind of smell in the hotel as it is located before a seafood place and every time you walk in or out there was a pile of trash on the side of the narrow entrance where there are motorbikes lined up for rent. The food was okay not special and lacked spices. The room inside and walls looked old and a little worn out
Although for people who are on a budget that might be a good place. We stayed for our honeymoon 4 nights there after spending sometime on Panwa beach at a much nicer and cleaner hotel and honestly we regret it. We thought by moving to a different part of the island we would see more. But it was a mistake.

Waterfront. Nice staff. Very. The entrance looks dodgy. Inside it’s simple. The rooms are cool 2 level with upper loft. Say nude sun bathing. And open outdoor shower. Lower levels have nice open concept. Big bath. Clean. Tea lights lit. Hammock for the front to lay out and be ocean front on your deck. The pad Thai was the best I have had in Thailand. Close to everything. If you stay on the river side. Wear tons of mosquito spray. I let my son sleep outside on the hammock. He was eaten alive literally and went to the doctors. Just wear the spray and have fun! Beach front. Pool. Boutique.

overall we had a pleasant stay. the main reason we chose this hotel was it's proximity to the beach. the staff are friendly and helpful. the hotel is too expensive though, I have paid the same amount and stayed at better resorts in Phuket. I can't complain on anything but will probably look for cheaper alternatives that include the same comfort next time.

Very nice, small hotel on the beach.

It is one of the gems on Phuket: right on the beach (Kamala) with very easy walking to all sorts of restaurants, shops, etc. The street of the Kamala beach is happening right behind the hotel. The place is calm and very comfortable with an amazing staff.

Small hotel on the beach in Kamala

The four of us spent a few days in Layalina hotel in Kamala beach after our tour of Thailand. It is in a quiet location. Rooms are spacious and very nice, comfortable beds.
Hotels staff was very helpful. We ordered tour to Phi Phi island right from the front desk. Good breakfast was delivered from the restaurant next door.

We had two nights confirmed reservation but upon arrival they stated they didn't have us on their list. Then they did, but had no rooms. Then they had an apartment and then a crummy room. We stayed one night and had to leave. Very shady operation! A guest at breakfast said she had also been told she wasn't on their list also!!

Very nice Boutique hotel on beach with great view

Overall excellent staff, very helpful and room was 1st. class. Pool is small and little or no other facilities but all was extremely clean and well maintained.

If you need a taxi ask for Mr. TEWA at taxi stand about 50-100 meters away his prices are negotiable and he is pleasant and a very safe driver. He also didn't try to take us to tourist traps as many drivers will do to get commission.

Great stay in a boutique hotel

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is right on the Kamala beach so location is fab. The staff is incredibly helpful and given I was travelling alone , made me feel comfortable and safe.
It is however a boutique hotel and not a resort. So don't expect a lot of ameneties ( eg: no restaurant or spa in the hotel, bathroom not well stocked) . Also the front of the hotel is on a narrow street so can initially look a tad shady from the outside.
Kamala is the quieter part of Phuket unlike Patong so not much to do at night here. Do book the upper storey room with balcony, well worth the extra price.

Great breakfast

Superb. I had been up the night before with food poisoning, the gentleman at reception noticed I looked unwell and brought me some complimentary ginger tea to my hotel room to help me feel better. Such a kind touch. Breakfast and view were brilliant.

Wonderful Luxury Hotel right next to the beach

This hotel is of a very high standard and located just 2 meters from the beach. The rooms are of a very high standard and the hotel staff are very friendly and efficient. There is a small pool, which is perfect for cooling off without going to the sea

Would stay here again

Outstanding. Couldn't be closer to the beach. Absolutely gorgeous beach. Service was excellent, especially Kim who helped us set up trips and get discounts on those trips. Very quiet beach, which was just what we were looking for. If you are looking for nightlife, this is not the beach you want to stay at. Only downside was the bed was pretty hard, but that's par for the course in Asia and you can just go get a massage on the beach every morning if you need to. Would stay here again.

I didn't want to leave!

This hotel was amazing. I went with the heaven room, which means it's the second floor and includes a private roofdeck with a sun lounge and outdoor shower (perfect for cooling off when the sun gets too hot!). My balcony looked out at the ocean with a great view of the sunset. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rate included breakfast, which I chose to have brought to the room so I could eat on the balcony and enjoy the view. The food was delicious! Fresh fruit, delicious scrambled eggs, and some of the best pancakes I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of pancakes). It was also well located on the edge of the strip of hotels and restaurants that make up Kamala beach. I highly recommend this place and would stay again if I'm ever lucky enough to get back to Phuket.

Great location and rooftop terrace

Staff were incredibly welcoming and generous. The location is fantastic - right on the beach and close to lots of day beach bars and restaurants. It's definitely worth paying extra for a first floor room - you get a great view from the balcony and a roof top terrace perfect for sunbathing, complete with hammock. The bath looks out onto the beach also. It's worth knowing that Kamala is quite quiet and doesn't have the beach evening atmosphere of some of the other beaches in Phuket, but it was low season and perfect for what we were looking for.

Best Vacation Experience EVER!

We LOVE the Layalina Hotel! The rooms are beautiful and the view is stunning. It almost doesn't feel real! The staff are wonderful, helpful and always have a smile. The breakfast is phenomenal. This was the perfect hotel for the quiet, beautiful vacation we wanted. We can't wait to go back!

Perfect honeymoon vacation

We stayed there for 5 nights during our honeymoon and it was just PERFECT. Beautiful rooms, really nice staff, luxury breakfast served in the room, great sea view, a few steps away from the beach.

We love Phuket nice small hotel but the surrounding looking outside on to the beach wasn't to pleasant alot of rubbish on the beach wich made it abit dissapointing otherwise nice place.
