Overall the stay was good. If you are looking for a family oriented hotel but this offered activities and amenities geared towards young families. The resort felt outdated. There was a few times when there was no water but the hotel did try and solve the concern immediately. I found the AC in the rooms were too strong so either you had it on and were cold or had it off and then eventually became too warm. The staff is very friendly.

Lovely hotel, good warm welcome from the lovely laid on reception and everyone was so helpful. Nice touch the luggage being taken to the room after a long day. Maybe the slide safety needs looking at as we are 20 something and went flying!! Really relaxing start to our trip. We will be back to stay again.

The service was very poor took 3 days for room service to come fix a the two TV that was not working and even then when they finally did replace them they did not tune them or connect them to the setbox. COCKROACH in the room! There were many things wrong with the room and hotel but the biggest is that there was a cockroach in the room. We caught it in a glass and left on the balcony and asked the staff to come and get it. We also asked the staff to send someone to clean the bathroom where the cockroach was. They said they would send someone but never did!!

The room was falling apart. The towel hanger in the shower broke, the phone to call reception wasn’t working and the cleaner didn’t clean the rooms properly (for example, just sweeper the floor and nothing else. She took our old towels but didn’t come back to replace them with new ones!)

The phone not working was a huge issue. We needed to run down 2 flights of stairs and across the hotel to get to reception in the case of an emergency. One of our guests fell on the concrete stairs and we couldn’t call reception, one of us had to run over to them. Any issue we had, we couldn’t call reception. If the cleaner didn’t replace our towels, we would have to walk far to reception. If the towel hanger broke, we had to walk over.

This is not a hotel I recommend!! Any time we would complain to the staff they would not help at all.

I really would not recommend staying here.

I read all the reviews and most of them were great, there were a few negative but there is always one. I hate to say it though but they were right. Don't pay for the breakfast, the hot food was always cold. We ended up just having toast or buying 711 to heat up in the morning. The food and beverage prices are western prices so this is not the hotel to sit at the pool bar, though we did 😅.

Our room kept losing lighting, which was so weird and you had to run around in the barely warm water of the shower to get wet. The beds were seriously rock hard, one of the reasons I booked this was the beds had a good star rating??

On a positive, the staff were so prompt and helpful whenever we had an issue. It was always attended to straight away. All the serving and bar staff were great. Can't fault them there.

The most disappointing hotel I’ve stayed in.

A very disappointing hotel that feels like it should close for renovation. This should be accepting guests, and it definitely is not a five star hotel. The listing feels very misleading and I wish I’d paid more attention to the negative reviews. The staff kindly relocated us to the Radission Red, which was significantly better. Avoid.

Old hotel, not very clean, overall ok

The hotel is old so not a lot to expect but let's just say the upkeep and cleanliness of the place isn't great

All the Sofas and chairs were smelly and dirty like they had never been washed

Had a problem with the showers keeping a single temperature,

Plates at the breakfast and cups from the pool bar were dirty like they hadn't been washed properly

Overall relatively poor-moderate grade in terms of cleanliness
Food was fine, drinks were good, pool is good, facilities ok

The gym was just... very old and not kept very well, sort of like the rest of the hotel

Property was okay and the rooms were fine but lots of noise nearby from a construction going on in the adjacent plot. Aircon in the room was quite noisy too. The breakfast selection was very good. Unfortunately the pool had small tiles coming off and some were scattered at the bottom of the pool which was very dangerous. Cleanliness average and lots of bugs in the area which meant the fumigation was not top notch considering this was rainy season. Kids were screaming most of the day around the pool area due to the water slide. Kids club was okay but again cleanliness was average so overall the general feel was basic.

The entire hotel really is in need of renovations. The hot water and A.C. stopped working pretty regularly. Only one T.V. out of the 4 in the room worked properly. The pool looks nice and the tiles were loose and sharp. It was a danger to the kids. The staff was very nice and accomidating. I believe they are also understaffed. Once brought up to date, i thinknl it will be a great place.

The room layout and hotel facilities were great but is due for renovations. The two bedroom suite was very generously sized, functional and practical for a family of four or more.

There were maintenance issues in the room and pool. Tiles were falling off inside and outside the pool.

There were no elevators so can expect to walk up to three levels. The buffet breakfast was average at best.

The hotel location itself is about a 20 minutes walk to 7/11 and other attractions. The staff were friendly, the room with balcony was awesome.

After a renovation this place could be wonderful again. Overall we did enjoy our stay for 2 nights, but for the price, we could find something closer to beach and other attractions.

We showed up at the resort about 5:00 PM, (normal check in time is 2:00 PM). We had to wait for about 1 hour, as our rooms was not ready yet. They were nice to give us a complimentary drink as we waited.

Good hotel away from Patong

This property is back off the main road before you reach the township of Kamala, it is sign posted but it is easy to miss (if heading to Patong and you get to the Phuket Fantasea area you have gone too far) Very well appointed and well maintained this hotel is a great base if you dont want the noise and hustle of Patong. The room was fine with a large living area, a small well appointed kitchenette area and two comfortable bedrooms. Bathroom was a little small but was usable. The pool area was great as was the main restaurant area. Overall a good stay.

It’s not a 5 star hotel , probably a3 star at best. Rooms shabby but the location is terrible. I was looking at a building site and the opposite view was a shanty town.. truly awful.

We booked a 3 bed suite at 3k for 5 nights. When we arrived we didn’t even unpack- we demanded to be relocated to a sister hotel. We were moved but they charged us £500 for the night ( we didn’t stay there that night). The relocated hotel was much better.

The hotel is not as described and the one day cancellation charge left a sour taste.

Absolutely love that it is sucha kid friendly hotel. Ala club med. A lot of activities for children and adults.
The kamala beach is within 3 mins via hotel buggy + 5 mins walk.
It was a pity that the pool slides was under maintenance..so we couldnt experience that.
The hotel staff was rather flexible with checkin time, as they got us our room as early as noon. Nong at the reception was helpful.
The spa was also a bliss. Koi the therapist is god sent!

We have a 2 bed rooms units, both rooms are quite small, however they made the space for living and dining areas. I felt that the bed rooms and the bath room should be bigger instead.
The room is due for refurbishing.
The unit is kept quite cleans. The chairs and side table at balcony facing pool side need to refurbish.

Property is very close to the beach (just across the road - just be careful when crossing since it’s a busy 2-way street). There are restaurants along the beach which you can walk to - since the resort only has one restaurant. Resort room/facilities are a bit old and worn but it has all the basics and rooms are clean/spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Area is relatively quiet (but there was construction behind the resort) compared to the busy Patong area. Most taxis have fixed/flat rate - usually about Bt500 to/from Patong and Bt800 to/from airport.

The resort is well equipped for families with a kids club, great pool, and other activities such as table tennis, pool and other planned daily activities.
The rooms are lovely and spacious with most of them having a pool view.
It is set back from the beach (5 min walk) and at the other end of the beach from the town centre (10-15min walk along the beach). So if you have young children you might consider a stroller, or be willing to pay for a tuk tuk to get into town.
We loved our stay at the Swissôtel Resort.

Mostly it was very nice and buffet breakfast excellent! We would say rooms although very clean do need upgrading and painting, shower door wasn’t good and after every shower water would leak out of shower door and side panel all over the floor.

This is really nowhere close to being a 5 star hotel, shabby and tired rooms, bad location and badly run. Pool water murky, breakfast buffet terrible and staff who were unable to provide anything gluten-free for one of our family. There are a couple of nice looking hotels (really) on the beach in Kamala, Novotel & Intercontinental - book there instead !

The Swissotel was a great hotel, well placed - just a 10 minute walk from Kamala beach and a 20 minute drive from Patong and Bangla road. The staff there were more than willing to help you out, special mention to Falada on the front desk who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be, booked all our excursions and sorted any mini problems we had.
Breakfast buffet was great, more than enough choices to satisfy you every morning, some freshly cooked there and then.
There's free water replaced daily in your room. The air con worked very well cooling your room down.
The cleaners were a bit inconsistent with the times they came to clean your room but don't take that away from the brilliant job they did!
The prices were a bit much for our liking, they had a ++ system which we didn't know about until we were charged more than we're thought we're should have been and asked about it! Whatever the price was, add another 10%, then another 7% for service charge and government tax. Try to have the right money because sometimes we didn't get our change which was a bit naughty. There's a bar/restaurant 2 minute walk down the road called Baan Mai which was fantastic and had good prices, if not walk down to Kamala Beach and go to Lillo Island, another fantastic place to go with plenty of choice at great value!
Evenings entertainment was more focused at children with this being more of a family hotel so not much for the adults.

Not so good experience in Swissotel Phuket

Below par service at Swissotel Resort Kamal Beach, Phuket. Room service was reactive...they wont replenish toiletries, bathroom essentials, wont replace bath towels, bedsheets until i asked them. We reached and checked in late, around 9.45pm local time, went for dinner in their in-house restaurant and the service from restaurant staff was as if they were doing us a favour...they switched off fan even though we were having dinner. The resort location is also not that good, it is not that convenient if anybody wants to roam around Phuket. Overall, i will avoid Swissotel resort if i ever come back to Phuket for another trip.

Absolutely no regrets. This place was very welcoming. Alessandra, one of the customer service mangers, and Nong, a front desk receptionist, were absolutely wonderful people. We are a German / American family; Alessandra came up with the idea to put an Independence Day gift basket in our room on July 4th. Not a big deal on its own, but this is just an example of how thoughtful the staff is. They also stood up for me when I felt slighted by an external company. They called the management of the outside company and made sure our family was properly represented. They really went the extra mile. I already miss the hotel staff and Thailand in general. Oh, the kids... they were in kid heaven. The staff has scheduled activities and the pool is warm and super kid friendly. They have movie night every night, a kids only special menu in the awesome restaurant, special kids drinks they call mocktails, and, most of all, the staff let the families play - never emplacing a bunch of rules in the attempt to control, rather leaving parenting to parents. This place made for a truly memorable family vacation.

Excellent for family I stayed 4 nights . My kid enjoyed alot in the the resort with the facilities and food is so good as well. Staff is good ,its hard to communicate with some staff .

I got free upgrade , Birthday complimentary cake is tasty. Very near to the Kamala beach. Highly recommended for family as they have every day activites in the resort with lots of FUN.

And your child never get bored in the house, as enough facilities inside the room itself for my 3yr child to play.

We will visit once again in future.

But, two feedback. 1). not much food options for lunch and dinner (only one restraurant and limited choices, Westerns and some Asian. 2) the breakfast box was not prepared due to their intermal mis-communication, although the recepition clearly informed me that they could prepare for them understanding my early morning departure one day before. Though they told me they could arrange for it, the driver was waiting for us already. We could not spare time for it. In the end, we end up paying for BF at the airport

The bedrooms were very very small. Not enough room to store my clothes. Bathroom only had room for one person at a time. No bath tub. Not suitable for kids or family with young children. Hotel was clean but provided very limited amenities. No toaster in my room.

Breakfast buffet had a large selection. However, I felt food wasn't fresh. I pointed out to the staff that a bird was eating the food through the top of a cover that had holes in it. She just swapped the food cover around which means another dish was being eaten by birds instead.

I've rated your service as mediocre. Friends visited me while I'm there and they were giving them attitude. It's not fair to judge people by their clothes.

No shuttle from the hotel to the main street. When the hotel is a bit far, I would expect there to be a shuttle service provided.

Rooms are not sound proof. I would expect hotel rooms to be quiet which they were not.

I liked:
Location and how close it was to the beach
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful

I didnt like:
Smell of toilet/baths
Cleanliness of hotel. Room service wasn’t collected for days or left in front of the door which invites bugs and bad smell
Tours organised were so much more expensive compared to street prices

Shower continually flooded floor, with no solution provided,
Personal items removed from room by cleaning staff.
Overall a disappointing place to spend the majority of our time in Kamala. Do not recommend this accomodation.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We liked that as much water as you needed was provided by the hotel and they would bring water to your room whenever you needed it. The hotel lunch food was good but the buffet breakfast was a bit overpriced.
The 2 bedroom apartments were perfect for myself and my Dads stay. However, they were a little dated. The back of the hotel is a bit of a junkyard at the moment and the hotel could benefit from building an adult only pool at the back.
Unfortunately when booking I didn’t realise how much of a family hotel this was, the hotel pool was taken over very much by very loud children whose parents didn’t care much for them splashing everyone around them. Not the hotels fault and will definitely check more carefully first next time.

Not too many choices of breakfast and something not really fresh. Especially salad bar. Hotel staffs very helpful and friendly. Hotel is close to the beach which only 5 minutes walk or take hotel shuttle service.

Well thought off activities for the kids. Everything with safety of kids in mind. Proximity to Kamal beach and very courteous and responsive staff.
Breakfast is good but Restaurant’s food mean is not all that great.

Decent stay for the price

Overall a pleasant stay at Swissotel.

The hotel is a little bit older so the rooms are not in great condition. Bathroom was quite dingy and the door to the shower cubicle couldn't be shut completely and water would leak out to the bathroom floor.

The pool is a good size, although the water was a little murky.

Good service from reception.
Breakfast variety was also good.

Hotel was walking distance to the beach, with a free shuttle service.
Lots to eat around the hotel.

If you are looking for a family resort, this is perfect! Location, ammenities, great pool. All the staff are wonderful! Restaurant had great options and tasty. The spa is fabulous! Good restaurant, shops, and bar are walking distance.

However, if you are single or a couple and want quiet poolside time, this is defintiely not the right hotel for you.

The resort was good and staff were friendly. The pool area was nice and lots of activities for kids.

Would have been great if the resort offered a free shuttle service to the local shops as the walk was a little far in the heat, and a taxi to the local shops is 200bht each time.

Very nice and safe.

Very nice hotel, only small hick up is the breakfast staff. I always needed to ask for a spoon or a cup etc.
I am sure adding a few more people to the staff in the morning would solve this. Other than this, this hotel is superb.

I hope the construction next door will not ruin this sanctuary.
