This is a budget hotel, fairly priced and you can’t beat the location at the far end of Patong Beach. Quieter and still enough to see and do close by. I really enjoyed my stay and the cleaning staff are just lovely and kind. The owner works really hard to keep everything going.

Not bad but a little underwhelmed. Yes cost was low but place was a bit run down. Room a bit run down. Needs some TLC. In fact, it needs a new sign at top of the driveway. Hard to find the small laneway to the hotel.

Good location, handy to the beach

This was the first time staying at the AM Surin Place, I like the area, you are close to the beach and it is not too touristy. It is a clean budget hotel and personally I think it is value for money. My room had the pool right outside the door. I plan on staying there again in a few weeks time. I'm sure that the rooms in the upper floors have better views, but again I liked having access to the pool from my room. The day I left the elevators were out of order which was slightly inconvenient, but I usually used the stairs every day.

Avoid dirty

Avoid this hotel looks nothing like photos. Hotels.com refusing to take responsibility.
Hotel is so dirty and so many broken things. And they have lost of charges if you break anything there is nothing to be broken as already broken

Nice addition was that it was possible to see from pool to room's bath room/shower if curtains weren't closed :)

Overall I’m extremely happy with the state at this property. My only complaint would be the lack of warm enough water for showers. On one occasion there was no warm water at all, and others it takes a number of minutes for the water running to warm up enough. Also the water pressure leaves something to be desired. Having said that I’m also aware that I am a westerner who might be used to much better facilities than what are available in a place like this.

Spacious and beautiful room.
Staff very helpful and very close to Surin Beach.
The hotel provided free towels and beach mats and had 10% discount with Audy Restaurant (also close to the hotel).
There is also a parking space if you rent a bike and a pool on 2nd floor.

Basic hotel best suited for travelling around, and probably only best for a few nights stay, doesn’t have a bar or restaurant, only breakfast which is very good by the way, both and bananas pancakes or English breakfast! But water pressure is very low (4th floor) and there is no hot water. The hotel is close to the Surin beach (but will be stairs), supermarket, but bear in mind Surin is a very very quiet place. Hotel staff is friendly but poor English.
There is wi-fi, taxi service, good massage salon nearby and one of the best beaches.
There are no public toilets/showers and changing facilities at the beach

Lost my deposit 20,000 baht

Ii dealt with Pillip he asked me to send 50% deposit so I sent 20,000 baht when I got to the hotel pillip no longer worked there they could not find my money would not look at there bank statements for the dates transferred even though I had many emails from them , I rang my bank in Australia to get proof I paid , then I cancelled my booking and got a refund , I had to do all the work to get the proof they did nothing , I wasted 2 days of my holiday to do this . They said they had no emails even though I saved mine and showed the emails to reception , even had confirmation from pillip confirming a prompt payment , very poor management and very poorly run by re eption sfaff

Great hotel a short walk from the beach. Rooms were nice and clean, good shower and having a balcony is a nice touch. Lovely pool area. The receptionist was amazing - super helpful in giving us advice on where to go.

Good hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Nice room. Clean & no issues. Good breakfast as well nearby restaurants. Small pool on roof. Surin beach was only 10 minute walk & not that great with too many street vendors & not that clean. Bang Thao beach was much better & only a 20 minute walk north. Area reasonably quiet at night. Tourist office nearby had good rates for tours & taxis. Taxi rates are fixed prices.

Quiet hotel, close to beach.

Our second visit to AM Surin. We like it as the rates are reasonable, it is within walking distance to the beach and the pool is clean and cool. There is parking if you have a bike or car. The staff are friendly and helpful.

This hotel and staff were great. We stayed poolside and it was perfect to walk out of room and hop into the pool.
The only thing that let out room down was the shower!!! It was hot then cold. Could not stand under it for most of the time. Had to have a bath to wash ourselves.
If this was rectified it would have been perfect.
Great location and close to everything without the noice (it's 50m off the main road)

Returned to AM Surin Place 2 months after staying here last time. Still found everything to be great: location, comfort, friendly staff. Despite it being low season and strong winds on the beach, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return again.

Stayed in AM Surin Place for a week and really happy about the overall experience. The check in/out was easy. Room is very clean and big, even with a huge bath tub. Stuff are nice and helpful. The location was great, 5 minutes to Surin beach and 15 minutes to Bangtao beach. Great deal and like to stay again next time.

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. Situated in a quiet location, a short walk from beautiful Surin Beach. Walk to local shops and restaurants or a short scooter ride or taxi to Bang Tao or Kamala. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good size and comfortable rooms. Pool side is an added bonus with direct access to the pool from your room. Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

One hot shower away from an easy 5 stars

The hotel is nice and an excellent value for the price. On par with other hotels that cost twice as much.

Key points -
Location: Walking distance to Surin beach and within a 5 minute motorbike ride to bang Tao beach. Both are nice beaches. Plenty of restaurants around the hotel if you prefer to stay close and not travel around the area. if you rent a car or motorbike there are several beaches along the coast traveling south towards Patong beach.

Room: The room was excellent and very comfortable for the price. I have stayed at other places in Phuket that cost double and the rooms weren't as nice. There is one Caveat - the shower in my room (409) was probably the worst shower I've experienced in any hotel I've ever stayed. I read reviews complaining about this before booking and they are all accurate. The problem is with the water pressure. The change in pressure causes the shower to go from scalding hot to cold. At times the pressure drops so low the water almost completely stops. Not sure if this only effects the upper floors? I showered at the pool each evening as the water pressure was excellent there.

Hotel Staff: Very friendly staff that helped whenever I needed assistance.

Food: Breakfast was included in my reservation. The restaurant downstairs has 3 or 4 options for breakfast set. Food was good and facilities are clean. There is a restaurant called Audys located next to hotel. Excellent dining and they also setup on surin beach until around 5 or 6 pm.

Nice midrange hotel close to beautiful Surin Beach

We were very happy with our hotel where we stayed for a few weeks. Spacious, bright room with a balcony & view of Bang Tao Beach in distance. Cleaned well every day. Great location on quiet side street with walking access to 2 beautiful beaches, Surin & Bang Tao. Beach mats, towels & umbrellas are provided free of charge at Surin Beach when requested at front desk. Reasonably priced for mid range hotel. We booked for 10 days initially but kept adding on days. I like to compare rates for a hotel, booking direct or through a third party. Sometimes you can get a better rate through a third party.
It has a nice bathroom with countertop and bathtub with rain shower but hard to regulate temp. Had trouble with wifi initially but when we realized each device needs its own password, the wifi was fine. It is frustrating that you have to keep putting in the password. Restaurants nearby, including our favorite Riverside Restaurant, a 5-10 min walk on road towards Bang Tao, with great Thai food at great prices. We avoid the outrageous Phuket taxi fares by renting our own scooter as needed which was 300B for a 24 hour day at the time we were there. We can then explore other areas & beaches.

Simple, Basic Island Luxe

I found every staff member to be delightful, helpful and attentive. The area is a short 5 minute walk to the beach and I loved how secluded it was. A very chilled out laid back beach and not crowded at all. At least the time I was there. The near by restaurants were all so delicious. I had $2.50USD fresh Mango shakes daily and the locals were so honest, even when I accidentally over paid, they would tell me, I gave too much money and return it.

Tucked away. Comfortable and clean. Very friendly staff. No shower curtain meant that the bathroom floors got soaked every time we took a shower. Other than that, it was a great spot for the price!

problem one - on check in sorry no wi fi - hasnt worked for 24 hours sorry try again tomorrow - not good enough
problem 2 - air con didnt work and room was 35 degree all night, rang up reception to resolve and no answer, there is no one there at night to fix problems so i sweated all night which was made worse by the fact that the pillows were still damp inside from another persons sweat on previous nights and were the mouldiest revolting smell ive ever encountered - again no one on reception at 10pm to swap this
breakfast orange juice is the worst cordial ive ever tasted, not juice just undiluted filth, the next day the manger was apoligetic but sorry is just a word, no action was taken its too late to fix things after your stay has concluded, avoid this place unless the above is to your liking

Family beach holiday

Great room really big and spacious. Location excellent for access to Surin Beach but Hotel does not have a private Beach club or a restaurant (No evening meals) as advertised. Plenty of beach clubs to choose from though and fees are minimal.
Lots of very good and cheap food places on the beach and
Level of English was a problem with some of the staff.
Overall a good holiday but website should be changed to state what they have properly.

Back to the Stone Age!

First, the good thing: The aircon worked(except for the times were the power was out), the staff was friendly and the room was clean - and that is about it.

Now the not so good: There was a bathtub, but no hot water. To compensate for that, the pool was hot and small, almost like a bathtub. The room was unfinished, there was no curtain in the shower, no minibar price list, no \"please do not disturb\" sign, and so on.

Now the weird things: There was a 4 m2 humongous window between the room and the toilet, so you were able to see everything that was going on in the bathroom including the toilet from the bed. However the sound isolation was poor, so you could have a conversation while using the toilet, which was nice. Besides from that the power went off a couple of times every day.

Stayed in the penthouse suite for one night, wish we booked for longer! Service was awesome, food was great, hotel was impeccable. This hotel would easily be $500+ a night anywhere else. One minute walk from the beautiful, quiet Surin beach. A lot less busy and dirty than Patong Beach. If you're looking for a real party, Patong beach is it and not too far away. But for a beautiful getaway with a great beach in a quieter area, not far from Patong - this is it! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Worth the Walk!

This hotel is not on the beach. It's a five minute walk up the road and down a lane. Having said that ... it's definitely worth the walk. Because it's off of the beach and main road it's quieter at night - so I slept better. The hotel room was wonderful! I had booked a double - but they upgraded me to a king on the second floor, just off of the pool, which I enjoyed enormously! The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was fabulous (I had the Thai breakfast both mornings). I would definitely go back there.

ideal location just 5 mins walk to surin or bang tao beaches. Closer to surin than many other hotels actually. Very nice modern rooms, hotel mewly built (as of Dec 2014).
Minuses - difficult to control water temperature in shower (either too cold or too hot, cannot fix inbetween), also aircon either or of off without control over temperature or speed of flow. this all looks to be artificial way of cost saving for the hotel which isnt nice. Swimming pool very small but not really much needed anyway as everyone goes to either of two beaches

Fräscht och stort rum, grymt bra städning varje dag. Stor och bra kylskåp. Nice badrum och frukosten var fantastisk. Ligger perfekt mellan bangtao beach och surin beach. Dessutom en mysig familj som driver en restaurang bara några meter bort från hotellet samt en bra supermarket(Tops). Så nöjd!

Cheap but still expensive for what you get.

First, staf is very nice and helpful. But hotel is not ok for the price. Even is a cheap one, is too expensive for the services and state of the hotel. Sorrunds and pool are not ok, and many other things line hot water or WiFi doesn't work well. Sorry but have many other better options for same or less price in the zone. Need a deep refurb and clean all arround. Is not nice. Really pity because staf is very good.

Terrible service and room and on top of that also rude staff. We booked a rolm for 2 adults and obe child incl breakfast and they wanted to charge us extra for kids breakfast. Also A/C super noisy and not functioning. Think I slept tops 3 hours all night. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Хороший бюджетный отель на великолепном пляже Сурин. Внимательный персонал, чистота, уютная атмосфера. Номер 208 с выходом к бассейну с морской водой очень понравился! Не могу оценить завтраки, но зато ужинать в ресторане Audy, в который представлен бесплатный трансфер - одно удовольствие! И все это благодаря отличному менеджеру, который руководит и отелем, и рестораном. Отличное соотношение цена-качество! Огромная искренняя благодарность всему персоналу за великолепный отдых! Рекомендую!
