Hotel muito confortável, bom atendimento!
Porém falta um carrinho para levar a bagagem até os quartos, item de baixo investimento para um hotel desse porte não ter, tive que carregar no braço junto com a minha família, todas as compras que fizemos de vinhos. Outro ponto importante, o café da manhã, os bolos e pães não são frescos, são bem massudos, mas pra mim o pior ponto é o fato de não ter o carrinho.

The hotel is quite old, but clean and everything worked. Water taps are a little tricky, and their online check-in (for automatic key pickup) didn't work. Breakfast is quite simple but ok. The location is nice, a few blocks from the park of the three borders that has a couple of nice restaurants.

The pictures on-line don't look anything like the property. The pool has no umbrellas and a grand total of 8 chairs. The bars are unstaffed and unused - the \"pool bar\" served almost nothing. The breakfast consisted of some bread and a vat of wet scrambled eggs. The lobby is very nice but our room was horrible - old and run down and the air conditioner barely worked (it was 90+ degrees outside). We requested assistance with the AC, a room change, anything to make our stay tolerable. We were so miserable that we forfeit the prepayment of our second night and moved to another hotel. Hoping Expedia will make it right since the hotel would not refund our money since we bought through Expedia.

An older hotel but nice. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Nice big & comfortable lobby. Nice grounds. Pretty good pool. The room was comfortable and bright and nicely cleaned. Wifi didn't work in the room likely because of the concrete walls but still week in many areas. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would stay there again.

Two star experience, four star price

The room was not great--older mattress and furnishings, but the worst was the strong odor of mildew in the bathroom that made the whole room smell bad. The included breakfast is somewhat decent, but it's continental and the only substantive item is scrambled eggs which was more oil (lukewarm, by the way) than eggs. Upon checkout, I noticed I was charged twice for a meal (which was over $20 for a less-than-mediocre buffet), and when I brought it to the attendant's attention, he pointed out that I had signed the receipt. I said yes, I was sorry, it was a mistake, could he please remove the second charge. It was a much more difficult negotiation than it should have been, and in the end, he only discounted the extra meal!
It's not a bad place if you need somewhere to crash, but to pay $180+ a night for it is completely unreasonable.

Iguazu falls retreat

Enjoyed a detached unit for a week. These units are across the street so room service takes a bit longer. Nights were a bit loud for our taste, we noticed many nationalities primarily Brazilian, the area is changing partly due to less than favorable economic conditions in Argentina. We walked on main roads at night with no problems.

It's the other side of town to the falls so costs a bit more in a taxi to get there. We were there in late December and everything smelt a bit musty because of the dampness from the afternoon rains.

Great value for your money

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is close to the border of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay so that was a nice bonus to be able to walk to the view. The bus to the park was right across the hotel and comes every 30 minutes or so. The pool is great and the breakfast was a good value. The only things that could have been better: have more people working during check out time, air conditioning in room could have been better. Overall, a great deal and close to the town.

I booked this hotel torwards the end of my trip because I wanted something nice. They claim it is a 4 star hotel. It's not terrible but for the money it is not a 4 star hotel. I paid 110$ USD for a King room.

When I got there they lost my reservation and didn't seem concerned at all. After 30 min they found it. I was crunched for time and wanted too see iguazu and this did not help.

I was 30 min before checkin and they still wouldn't let me go to my room.. Pretty annoying. I had to freshen up in the lobby bathroom which was not nice, before going to iguazu.

The room was ok but the bathroom was kind of dirty. Not 4 star material.

Later I ate in the restaurant. Horribly slow service. Terrible food. I didnt even know about the buffet because they never told me so I ordered off the menu. Awful and expensive.

Location wise it is not that great. Not dangerous but not close to any stores or restaurants. I had to walk 20 min to get to a mini market to buy water.

The staff was not very friendly either.

I would not recommend it. The interesting part was that it seemed pretty busy. A lot of Argentinian guests. Maybe this is 4 stars in Argentina but if you are coming from US, Australia, Uk etc. It's not.

My main complaint is that the price and that they claim it is 4 stars.

If the price was 50-60$ then I would have no problem. Not worth 110$ no way.

we arrived and were given a cabin on the outside of the complex. it was nice but it felt isolated. it was spacious and clean but we just felt way away. we called inmediately and asked if we could get a room in the main building of the hotel. they agreed. we were given a much smaller room but comfortable. it had a nice balcony with a view to the river. after that everything went smooth

Will never stay at the hotel Raíces Esturión again

I hated staying at the Raíces Esturión hotel. I found the hotel way too expensive compared to what I got. The hotel promises more then you get and the service at the reception was awful. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel while you visit Iguazu.

Nice place. We stayed three nights in one of the cabanas and were happy with our stay. Everyone was exceedingly friendly, alacritous, and professional. Most spoke English, Spanish, and Portuguese with aplomb. There is a tourist friendly section of town and this place is outside of town, in quiet surroundings, but within easy walking distance to groceries, restaurants, shopping, etc.

Quiet hotel located close to the three borders

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It is conveniently located to the three borders of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay as well as Iguassu Falls. Be aware the hotel is on the Argentina side, but crossing into Brazil was easy. Argentina requires a visa. The hotel and area is very quiet. Wifi worked well. Pool area is nice and the hotel and grounds are well maintained. We did not use the tennis courts but did see them used at night (we were told there was an extra charge for the lights ). The included breakfast buffet is excellent and they will provide day lunches for a nominal charge. There were occasionally short power surges/disruptions. The hotel has a wooden exterior providing a rustic charm, but it is very modern. Guests do need to be able to climb some stairs(about 10 into the main lobby and about 6 down to the elevator). We had a room with 3beds that the staff quickly converted into a king plus single. Would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was very good: eggs, an assortment of pastries and toast, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit and delicious juice, coffee, tea and mate. We left happy because the hotel corrected an initial problem: we were in the cabanas, which were beautiful, but dogs barked all night. We asked for a different room in the main hotel and were courteously accommodated. We had a pleasant stay.

Excellent service in gorgeous location

The building is gorgeous, and I had a lovely river-view room. The staff also helped me a lot before my departure by printing my boarding pass and allowing me to use the shower in their spa (I was feeling pretty gross after an entire day in the park and had a late flight back to Buenos Aires). Location is pretty good, as the bus that goes to the falls literally stops right outside the hotel's entrance, so you can be one of the first people on and get a seat! It's also close to the Tres Fronteras marker, a nice place to catch the sunset. Only downsides are it's not super close to the main town (I was traveling alone so didn't feel like walking 15-20 minutes for dinner when it was dark--I just ate in the hotel restaurant--but my taxi driver to the hotel assured me that Puerto Iguazu is very safe) and my room wasn't very soundproof (there was some sort of event going on at the amphitheater near the river I think, but it might have just been because it was the evening of Easter). Dinner, including the restaurant service, was so-so for the price, but the complementary breakfast had lots of variety.

I spent one night in Iguazu and wished I had stayed more days at this hotel. It is by far the best hotel at Iguazu. Nice breakfast, nice room and very close the the Center. Taxis can take you anywhere from here. I would recommend visiting Brazil since it is a 25min ride from this side.

Nice hotel, but disappointing

Before I made the reservation, it said free cancellation. Once our flight was cancelled and we called to say we would be a day later, I got an email saying there would be a fee for changes. Nobody at the hotel was willing to help me out at all! For the price they get per night, you would think they would be more flexible.
The rooms were immaculate, the pool and the food were fantastic!
Our air conditioning didn't work well the first night. We told them about it and the second night was better but still not cool enough for sleeping.
The location was good. Within walking distance to shopping and tres fronteras. Easy to get a taxi or bus to the Cataratas.

The Esturion was great! Staff is super friendly, and the property is very pretty. Although the property is not in town, it's only a $25 peso trip from the center of town back to the hotel and taxis are very easy to come by. The only complaint my friend and I had was the AC in our room wasn't the best so it was a bit warm, but we spent very little time in our actual room since Iguazu was so beautiful!

Located a little outside of the town it was still a quick walk to restaurants, and only a few moments to the three points where Argentina, Brasil, and Uraguay meet. The pool was good, and grounds were beautiful and the continental breakfast was great, the earlier you went, the more selections there was. I wish we had time to enjoy a massage in the outside spa.

Great Visit to Iguazú

I had some apprehension about staying at this hotel based on some of the negative reviews I read. Now, I wonder what hotel these people stayed at. It surely was not the Estureon. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The breakfast and the one dinner we purchased were very good. I highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is a bit of a walk from downtown but the cabs are cheap and plentiful.

Oasis from the falls

Awesome spread for breakfast, and beautiful pool. The hotel is clean and modern with free wifi everywhere. A $20 taxi to Igazu falls, or take the bus for ~$1! 10min walk into town with lots of restaurants. Overall, very pleased. Even the lunch and dinner prefix is a great deal!

Nice bed + good location - everything else.

The staff was sometimes friendly, sometimes not. They often seemed to favor patrons who appeared to have more means than my wife and I (we're also both late 20's early 30's, this might be a factor). Their information was often incorrect, the restaurant was horrible (though breakfast was decent for what it was), the air conditioning turned to heating without notice and then got stuck and couldn't be turned off, the plumbing had issues where the bathroom would smell like urine even after being washed by the cleaning lady and there were ants in some of the food.
On the other hand the bed was comfortable, the decor is nice and the pool was enjoyable. Also it is quite close to the city center and the bus stop to the cataratas is right across the street. The falls were amazing and well worth making the trip to see (especially if you manage to reserve for the full moon walk) but there are better hotels to do that from.

Overall, I like the hotel experience, it was a bit far from the town, making the bus the only option to go to Iguazu Parque Nacional and taxi fare to airport is quite expensive. But, this hotel was very relaxing after all the walking in Iguazu Parque Nacional.

There are many other choices, some must be better

Looks great, has pool, tennis courts and clean interior. Food is mediocre at best. Air conditioning poured water onto floor from ceiling despite them \"fixing\" it. Staff obsequious, but not friendly. Wifi barely useable except in lobby, then so-so. Fairly far from town. Because there are so many other choices, would explore those; I wouldn't stay here again.

- Good locatation, next to the taxi and bus stop to go to Iguazu Falls
- Nice dining area/restaurant with buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner for about $20 USD/pp; but also had good a la carte menu
- Nice pool, good service, nice common lobby areas
- Strong Wi-Fi from your room! (a must for us!)
- Mosquitoes are everywhere in Iguazu, so we expected them. Esturion had very few of them.

Would definitely recommend!

worst hotel room ever

In all my travels I have never had a worse room. I believe we were given this ground floor room because we staid only one night and they did not like Americans. The room had 2 single beds, an old TV, and a chair. The bathroom was small and smelly. Every time one flushed the toilet or drained water in the sink, it leaked in the bidet. The lighting was poor and the towels and sheets old, thin and torn. The room smelled. We were told there were no other rooms available. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast OK. They spoke very little English and we had to take a Taxi into town to get more information about the Iguazu Falls, because they could not communicate information to us. Very disappointed!!!!!!!

We had a nice stay at this hotel. It is on a bus route to the falls and is walking distance of the town and the point at which the rivers meet. Rooms were adequate (if a little musty as the air con only works when you put the room key in the light switch). The staff were very helpful in organising a moon walk and a morning trip to paraguay. The pool area is relaxing. The food was ok too.

if you plan on eating between 4 and 8:30pm don't stay here!!! the bar closes at 4 and the dinner doesn't open until 8:30pm. The service is SLOW SLOW SLOW and for being a tourist place for Iguazu they don't know much about the tours. Do yourself a favor and walk into town to buy water bottles instead of trying to buy them from the hotel!!

the service was really the worst ever... everybody outside the hotel said the esturion had its glory but now it was the worst hotel in the area. the room smelled humid and wet. the faucet and shower leaked. the air cornditioned made a loud noise every night when we were trying to go to sleep. the tv in the room was at least 40 years old. the computer system was the most outdated we have seen in any hotel so far...even in ROME whre our hotel choice was bad, the computer and the TV were new.
the only thing that was acceptable was the restaurant service... they were nice and made and made an effort tofeed us when were hungry.
we hated the Esturion. WE had a lot of fun in the area of IGUAZU... its beautiful country and we had many fun trips that WE planned.in the two occassions we asked for restaurant recommendations. the two places suggested by staff were closed. one permanently and the other because there was no electricity in the restaurant

Esturion Hotel - Puerto Iguazu

This is an overpriced, lackluster hotel.

Internet service is not good.

Pool is so packed with people, you can't get a spot.

Staff seems to think the customer is not right.

To balance this negative report, I must say that the breakfast was very good.

Not worth the money; check around folks.............

When visiting Iguazu Falls

The hotel had very good facilities - one of the best breakfasts we had whilst travelling, and lovely pool.
One strange thing though was the 2 nights we were there loud music was being played just on the perimeter of the hotel at approx 4am and nobody at the desk could explain what was going on, so not sure if this is a regular occurence.

Esturion Lodge - Disspointed

This hotel seemed from the first look to be really nice but on further investigation it was lacking just general care and attention. Our room did not have cold running water and we had to wait for maintenace to sort. The toilet roll holder kept falling off. The windows shook in the frames every time someone shut a door and not just our room door but our surrounding guests as well. I would recommend but with reservation - just don't expect too much and you wont be dissappointed.

Good hotel- good price. Room was comfortable with great bed. Short walk to town. Breakfast was very nice. Ask for a room higher up for the best view and away from the elevator if noise is an issue. Not but but started early. Lobby was especially nice and a great place to sit and people watch.

Very friendly staff. There was a confusion regarding the booking, but staff at reception sorted it out very quickly and we got the Lodge we had booked. The lodge was great and everybody was very friendly! Great breakfast!

A lovely place tostay

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel is old but has been recently refurbished. Is about 1km out of town but it is a easy walk or you can take the bus too. Serves a very nice breakfast. Great value for money.

I would recommend this hotel

Good place, clean and the staff was very kind and helpful. Only 10 minutes walk to town. There was only one problem: there is a pub on at the back of the hotel and loud music, fights and drunken people woke me up at least 4 nights in the week I stayed there.
Other than that, everything was fine

reservations about noise in area.

The hotel seems updated from an original 1970 or 80s construction. located on a nice property with decent pool and nice gardens.
some perks on large veranda in front: beds for lounging with cocktail and snack service. The public areas were quite nice, the rooms decent, but beds could use some better pillows.
I had asked for a quiet room facing pool after reading of dicso noise at night on river side from other visitors on your site. However, we were given a river facing room and couldn't see any discos so relaxed . At 1:00am music began blaring from river are below and continued till 6:00am. The front desk explained it comes from kids in parked cars having portable parties. To their credit, the front desk staff moved us to a pool facing room which was quiet the second night.

Esturion Hotel And Lodge good value for the money

We enjoyed our stay at the Esturion Hotel. The rooms were clean and large enough. Breakfast buffet was very good with lots of selection. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel to catch the bus to the Falls. Since this is one of the first stops passengers will find a seat. As the bus pass through the town it is standing room only. The town is about 15 minutes walk - not too bad but hot and muggy if this is not your thing. Taxi to town is only $2-$3 if you don't want to walk.

big hotel with B&B charm

The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds very attractive! Food was available at the pool outdoors, with great service, atmosphere unrushed and relaxed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant and gift shops very charming. Two problems: the music was so loud in the lounge area until 10 pm that it was impossible to get to sleep, or even relax, any earlier. I asked the front desk about it and they were unable to tun it down or off. Also, the elevator did not work during half of my stay, but I got prompt help with getting my luggage up the stairs. Overall: attractive setting, good food, friendly service, a bit far from town center, but plenty of taxis, and easy access to bus going to the falls. Would recommend to friends!
