As Expedia VIP members who frequent luxury hotels, we were extremely disappointed by the service here. We called twice in advance two weeks before and the day before to confirm that engagement photos were permitted for guests. Despite this, staff interrupted us three separate times during our shoot to demand ID and room numbers. It was unprofessional and felt like harassment, especially after we did our due diligence to follow every rule. While the historic look is beautiful on TikTok, the service does not match the aesthetic. We expected much better for such a significant life event. March 1, 2026, room 106.

The manager, the staff, the amenities were all fabulous. The front desk manager, the front desk, staff unbelievable professionalism they welcome you, they care for you. They make your stay a beautiful journey . The Health club Spa Pool all very clean, up-to-date steam room, and sauna very clean a great getaway.

The room was fine. The Bellevue charged me a Destination Fee of $32 and a City Occupancy Tax of $4.96 for a total of $36.96, which felt like a double charge.

My son and I stay in Philly for few days every holiday season to attend the Philadelphia orchestra concert, this year we choose the Bellevue Hotel due to its high quality rating and overall feedback by guests. Unfortunately it was not our experience. The room was dark, small, with some paint on parts of walls that did not match. Heat didn’t quite work, was set to 80 yet only blew at 70 no matter what. Bathroom was cold regardless of the heat. The cabinets smell of mold. The door to court yard didn’t lock. The bed corners were so harp we both kept bumping in to them. Lastly the buckle on my son’s ( birthday present) backpack went missing. Bag never left the room, I find it super disturbing to discover that someone came to the room and went in to my bag. We walked in with the buckle and left without it. The $900 backpack ruined. It seems as someone tried to open the bag and didn’t know how to close it back up. So they just took the buckle with them. Terrible experience for both of. Absolute ruined. Waisted time and money.

The hotel was lovely and very clean. The location was great- lots of stuff was within walking distance. The elevators are very slow and breakfast was very problematic- there was a long wait and then there was literally no food. They said they would bring more but we waited over 45 minutes for them to bring food out. They did have gluten free bread, which was a nice surprise, but it took about 40 minutes to get it.

It was 6:30am I only wanted a coffee and the server asked for my beverage comp card yet coffee is free in the lobby. I did not have a problem paying for it. It was kind of her but she left a family with a child waiting while asking me to look for the comp card on the 19th floor.

This is a beautiful and historic hotel that exemplifies everything you want in a place to stay. Classy but not pretentious, it perfectly balances upscale amentities with a down to earth personality that is unique to Philadelphia. The exterior architecture and interior decor is stunning, the rooms are thoughtful and spotless, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. From the vast public spaces throughout the hotel to the exceptional tilework in the bathrooms, there is always something to appreciate. In addition, the guest access to the Sporting Club takes this experience to a whole other level.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Located right in the heart of center city, walking distance to so many points of interest in Philly including Old City, Rittenhouse Square and more. The rooms were well appointed, clean and spacious. My only critique is that the restaurant, while beautiful, had subpar food, wine and service. It was nearly empty every night and for good reason. With such close proximity to so many other dining options, it could’ve been so much more. Otherwise, great stay. We would absolutely stay there again.

The hotel is beautiful and luxurious, especially the lobby. The room was tastefully decorated and felt more like an old-world apartment with modern touches. The walk-in closet space was very large, the bathroom was spacious, including the shower area, and the room had adequate seating areas. The bed was comfortable. We were on a high floor, making it very quiet at night. The staff, especially the head of the bell staff, were not only friendly but very helpful. We were, however, disappointed in the breakfast service. It took 45 minutes to serve a simple order, and the staff seemed disorganized. A more extensive buffet offering would be a better option.

The front desk manager Benjamin was extremely helpful, polite and delightful. The concierge was spot on with recommending a spa and his follow through impeccable. The cleaning staff were cordial and thorough.
The engineer was swift and very capable of fixing our door lock which malfunctioned.
The front desk women seemed very timid, cowed and unable to stretch beyond rules that they perceived as rigid.

The only thing I did not like was room service breakfast served like take-out, with plastic ware in a paper bag. I wanted the cart with real plates and silverware .The food was good, but no effort in presentation .

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! When we checked in, we were told there would be bottled water available in the room but that there were currently two only. Since we had a party of three, they apologized and stated they would bring a third bottle. They never did. Checking in was easy. Checking out was easy. Parking was easy. When you first enter, you have the option to choose how many nights you are staying. You pre-pay so that you have in and out privileges for the duration of your stay.

We had a nice stay at the Bellevue. Our room was comfortable, and clean. Our biggest issue was at Pergola, for breakfast. We ordered eggs and omelettes, which seemed a safe bet. Unfortunately, they came with potatoes that were covered in garlic and onion powder, rendering them completely inedible. We sent one of the plates back and said we couldn’t eat it , it was so bags. There was no apology, and they still billed us for it! We should have argued, but instead chalked it up to a learning lesson, and probably won’t be back.

The Bellevue was excellent for our stay. The Sporting Club that’s available for hotel guests to use has everything you’d need in a health club and more. Lovely renovated hotel in a great location

This is a beautifully renovated hotel. The room is large, uncomfortable, with the top and finishes. We were on the first floor, so unfortunately, we could feel the subway going by underneath. We went for the buffet breakfast this morning, the room was stunning and bright. However, the Food was not as bountiful as you would hope. Most of the dishes, run out quickly and took a while to be replaced. Service was very slow, although the staff were lovely.

We had a really nice stay at the Bellevue for a graduation weekend. The hotel is located in a great part of town around wonderful restaurants and it was easy to navigate to other parts of the city. The room was huge and beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The service was okay- we had a few issues like we never got a bottle opener we requested from the front desk to open a soda that was delivered by room service so we needed to use keys to get it open. Room service also took awhile during peak times and in room dining closed before 10pm. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

This was my first stay at the Bellevue. It has been beautifully restored, both the public areas and the lodging rooms. I especially appreciated the Nespresso mini coffee maker and mini-fridge.

The hotel is on the block to the north of the Academy of Music, so it was very convenient for my visit to the ballet.

Disabled access is less than ideal, but I understand that they are building a ramp entrance near the front of the lobby. For now, you go to the back entrance and use a little lift to get into the back lobby.

Several excellent restaurants within a block: Estia (Greek), Le Pain Quotidian, and Tuscany Cafe were my favorites.

The historic nature of the hotel was stunning and the surrounding buildings were also rich with history. Our hotel room was huge and clean, but it had a window that wierdly opened to nothing, smh... made the whole room feel bit dungeness and we were on the 12th floor! There's no room service and the advertised food court is no longer there. I have mixed feelings about recommending this hotel at the moment, but I'm willing to give it a second chance in hopes of a better experience. BTW, staff at the only restaurant in the hotel was really great!

DONT STAY HERE NO COMPASSION NOT SAFE!

I was staying there so I could be safe because at home I was not. They cancelled an up coming reservation and would not let me extend my stay because they feared the “safety of their staff”. When NOTHING happened and my outside issues did not come into the establishment. I was actually safe there and they just threw me out to the wolves and had zero compassion for why I was staying there. Spent thousands of dollars to be treated like dirt and made me feel worse about my situation instead of giving me comfort and security of which a hotel should be giving. Nothing happened at the establishment and nothing would have happened because no one knew I was there. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone or anything. Staff at first was welcoming and when they found out I was there because I wasn’t safe at home they kicked me out right back to my outside situation without hesitation. Now I have to find another place to stay. Spend more money. Don’t ever stay here if you want comfort. Plus their back elevator that is supposed to require a key card to operate is able to be used by anyone without a key card. Open for anyone to get on and go to any floor or room in the hotel.

It is such a beautiful hotel. It has an ild world feel. The marble colums and stairs is very reminiscent of the days when women dressed glamorously. The restaurant was nit too bad and there's a consevatory where youvcould relax in, at any time. The staff were nice. The gym associated with it, is about a minute walk. It had everything you could imagine. For a gym rat like me, that was heaven. Overall, we had a brilliant time. Im glad i chose this hotel over the W.

I have been staying at this hotel for years, and have loved it. It's a great old hotel in a great location, and the free use of the Sporting Club gym is definitely an added plus. However, it is presently under significant renovation/construction, which was not disclosed to me when I booked the reservation, and there is a lot of inconvenience that comes with that. Finally, there is no longer free coffee coffee service offered in the morning. I got charged $10.08 for two cups of regular black coffee!

Hotel stay was excellent, however the booking from hotels.com was an issue. Hotel manager couldn’t find the booking due to mis communication from
Hotels.com to hotel property. We had to wait for over an hour for them to sort it out.. and then not all the booking details like breakfast included were past on. Overall the hotel staff was very collaborative and properly was nice, the issue was mainly with hotels. Com booking experience

Overall all the amenities were excellent.
The service in your restaurant the Pergola was below average.
The gentlemen who appeared to be the manager was not friendly or made us feel welcome at breakfast. We were the only ones there at 7:30am.
The service was somewhat attentive although would disappear for extended periods of time. 18% predetermined gratuity for a buffet breakfast was a bit presumptuous. We stopped there for a drink on Saturday nite and again not an inviting atmosphere.

Our room is large and rather without personality but we like it. There were no bathrobes and they were not provided until I asked a second time, 5-1/ hours later. The phone in the room either doesn't work or is too hard for us to figure out. The room has been very cold but a friendly service technician came up and found the previous tenant had found the room too warm so the unit had been set to provide only cold air. The temperature had been quiet for a number of days but lately it has been in the high sixties during the day and down to freezing at night. We're still waiting on an extra blanket but it looks like we won't need it. There are loud guests in the hallway and it's past midnight. Also, only one of the robes has a belt, but I may have dropped it since they gave me robes at the front desk and the belts were not attached. I filled this out because I received a request to submit concerning our check-in experience, but the questions include much more.

I found the front desk to be cool, and was generally underwhelmed by my welcome. It also seemed understaffed. I found the room extremely mediocre with aging infrastructure, and I could not get hot water out of the tap. There were less expensive options on your site, and I felt that paying over $400 a night. Great historic hotel in downtown Philadelphia. The staff were excellent. The room was good for the age of the hotel. My one major complaint was the noise from outside. From 9pm throughout the night, dirt bikes and loud vehicles drive recklessly down the road echoing into the hotel. There is no noice insulation. This is a major problem and will keep people from visiting this city if things do not change.
