Wonderful stay on the lake

We had a room looking into town. Could see the hillside and church but no water. Views from the restaurant were great overlooking the lake. Bed was not that comfortable but ok. It was too cool and rainy to use the pool but it looked inviting. Great breakfast was included and dinner was very good but a bit expensive.

Lovely hotel, great location. Views amazing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very clean.

Lift is quite small and a little dated, creaked quite a bit which was a bit worrying, could probably do with an upgrade.

Air con in room was excellent and a very welcome reprieve from the heat of the day. Not noisy either, so didn’t affect sleep.

Shower was quite small, and difficult to move around in without banging elbows and knees.

Although food looked well presented in hotel restaurant and staff very attentive, thought choice on menu was a bit limited so didn’t end up eating at the hotel which was a shame…also a little expensive.

On the whole though would definitely return again but maybe ask for a room on a lower floor so I don’t have to use the lift.

Wow, wow, wow! Having a room with a lakeside view is a must. You will not believe your eyes or be able to tear yourself away from your room balcony! Such a lovely hotel with warm, friendly staff. Located in a perfect spot that is only a short walk to the main piazza in one direction and the ferry port in the other. Equipped with an outdoor pool and a lakeside restaurant, it’s got everything you need for a relaxing stay. The rooms are spacious and airy. The only downside is that the shower is tiny! The breakfast was simple but offered enough to set you up for the day.

We enjoyed our stay at Bellavista, the location is excellent, and views are wonderful! We had a lake side room with a large balcony that was fantastic. We did not eat at the hotel other than for breakfast one day, and they had a nice standard Italian breakfast offering. Although the facilities are old, they are well kept and clean. We did find that our room had a significant cologne smell that we found overpowering and some noise due to being over the restaurant and pool (despite having windows open over multiple days), that said, a pleasant stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Bellavista in Menaggio, Lake Como, Italy. The location was fantastic to explore the local Italian villages, and the city of Menaggio was delightful! The Hotel staff was very helpful and informative. We had panoramic balcony views from our rooms, providing an excellent Lake Como view! The location was close to the Ferry terminal, providing easy access to Verena, Bellagio, and Como during our stay. We had a fantastic meal the last night at the hotel restaurant. Of particular note, we had a great experience with Christiana, a local server and waitress. She was most helpful and courteous to us during our stay. This hotel is highly recommended to others!

The rating I gave was generous. There was no hot water for the shower both days, and the walls are paper thin. I also cut myself pretty badly on the shower door the last day, and the staff just gave me plasters. No apologies, just some comment about how there should have been plastic covering on it. I showed them the huge gash on my leg. Clearly there was not a cover. The only thing this place has going for it is the view.

Perfect location. Just a couple of minutes walk from the ferry terminal.
Breakfast was just OK. Beds are quite firm. Rooms are quite small, but perfectly adequate. Shower is very small, good water pressure and hot.
Parking was easy, just make sure you reserve ahead of time and there is a charge.
The views were spectacular from the lakeside rooms.

Very easy to find with or without a sat nav.
The view from the rooms out onto the lake are beautiful and having such a huge bed is a real plus.
They have powerful showers which is also really good thing.
You must eat at the in house restaurant, the food really is flavoursome and fairly priced.
If you ask for parking upon arrival, it is helpful as it can be busy around the streets.
We will defiantly stay there again.

The good, the bad and the ugly. Wonderful setting, room and prices. Great breakfast. One ugly: At 230 am during our first night, the fire alarm went off. Down the staircase we went (dodgy carpet and under lit) from the fourth floor until my wonderful wife fell on the second floor landing, twisting her ankle. After going outside in the rain with no help from staff, we finally filtered our way back to the hotel lobby and practically had to beg for ice. Initially, and for the next four days, despite some subtle hints, we basically received no concern or sympathy from the staff. The injured ankle put a limit on our ability to enjoy the holiday. Again, nice place but do a little bit more when there’s a (false) fire alarm and someone gets hurt.

Would say that on this occasion we were in a street facing room; the shutters and double glazed windows did very little to lessen the street noise. Traffic died off eventually so we had a good night’s sleep. Shower cubicle is tiny and there is nowhere to put your cosmetics within. The shortcomings are taken into account with the price, which seems like good value! We’ll pay more for a lakeside room again next time, but there wasn’t one available on this visit.

Hotel Bellavista was a fantastic Lake Como stay! We had a room with the small balcony option and the views did not disappoint! The hotel and rooms were clean, comfortable and very conveniently located. The hotel is right on a bus stop and about a three minute walk from the ferry stop. First off, communication from the property prior to arrival was great.
Upon arrival, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Check in was efficient and they quickly guided us to our room.
The room was fantastic, the view over Lake Como was briliant. I will say the floor was a bit creaky, but I suppose that's character :)
The Concierge was a gent, he quickly directed us to the hotel parking (underground and very secure, although it is tight) and also helped with our luggage. Top man!
Would definately stay at this hotel again. Thanks again to the staff there.

Amazing Value!!!

Amazing hotel! Great location, close to the ferry and also the main part of Menaggio. The pool is incredible, right on the lake with great views. Staff was incredibly friendly and made our stay even better!

5 star stay at Bellavista

The staff at Bellavista are amazing, attentive and friendly. There is a great variety at breakfast with the best view. The pool and bar on Lake Como's waterfront makes a great day for relaxing and admiring the views.

Only problem I had in the room was one of the shower heads was broken. Luckily there was another one to use but would have been perfect if both worked.

The Most Perfect Hotel

If I could give Hotel Bellavista one hundred stars I would. This was our first time visiting Lake Como, and the hotel absolutely made the trip. Everything about this place is perfect. The view from the room, the pool right on the lake and the friendliness of the hotel staff. You absolutely have to stay here if you are visiting Lake Como.

Family run hotel in excellent position overlooking lake. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. Food very good. All the stafff were friendly and especially Reception staff so helpful & knowledgeable and spoke English (my Italian very limited!), and it was super clean! Would definitely stay here again, but
next time book room overlooking the Lake -traffic noise from road in spite of Double glazing, and my first room was small but I moved to larger one after first night without any hassle

Best Hotel in Menaggio

Perfect location right next to the ferry dock. Beautiful, clean, modern rooms with lake view balcony and without. Located on one of the main roads, but the traffic wasn’t noisy or disturbing.

Beautiful pool! Excellent service at the front fest and bar. Didn’t try the restaurant.

If Menaggio is your destination I highly recommend staying at Hotel Bellavista!!!

The views!

The views are amazing! Right on the water and literally a minute from the main square and less than 5 from the ferries. Great restaurant, roomy rooms (this is a big deal for European hotels), and friendly staff. Would stay here again.

Great location - beautiful lake views, easy to catch ferries across to other towns on the lake, easy walk to multiple great restaurants (Luganos and Divino 13!), easy free parking 5-10 min walk up the street.
Nice large sized room and bathroom, with amazing view of lake from bed. Downside was terrible flat pillows, and not any extra pillows in room which may have helped plus would have been nice to prop up on for watching tv or just taking in the view from bed when raining. Also very noisy - timber floors so could hear every movement of those in room/floor above.

We loved the location of your hotel. We were with a group of 7 so there were 4 rooms reserved between the 7 of us. We were extremely disappointed that we were the only one of the group that did not have a balcony. Other than this aspect we were relatively pleased with our stay.

Bella Vista as good as the views

I would say of our five weeks in Italy and most of the experiences being very good this one did not disappoint. Nice room and a wonderful location close to everything. Quaint town without all the congestion. Updated room with balcony on the second level. Only comfort issue was the mattress very firm but as things go in Italy it has been the norm. Otherwise no complaints!
