We had an amazing time, a week of sun and no rain. Very organised transfer to and from Varu via speed boat. Our room was the water suite with endless views of the sea. Good selection of food at Lime and Chili. Teppanyaki was worth the extra cost, managed to book the restaurant without sharing it with other guests. All staff friendly and welcoming. Managed to get lots of things done on the Island from star gazing, spa treatments, watching the sun rise and set!

We love our stay at Varu. All the staff are extremely friendly. They started remembering our drink preferences after a day or two and are very attentive. Our room is always clean with great view. The water villa are on higher walkways so they do not recommend for younger kids but they were able to set up an extra sleep space for our son. We also appreciate the comprehensiveness of their all inclusive plan, including all food, drinks, alcohol, spa, excursion and water activties. We did not have to spend a lot extra to have a great experience.

Don't expect too much for buffet in main restaurant after you stayed few days in there. The Nu is a must go specialty restaurant, tasty food, exceptional service and excellent view.

The diving center is highly professional, good for value to spend extra to join the diving activity.

We had a water villa with a pool and felt extremely comfortable from start to finish. Every single person greeted us with a smile. Mr. Iqbal's room service/cleaning was amazing. He was always very kind and even asked us if we had any special requests. Plus, whenever he had enough towels left over, he made something cool out of them, like some cute Swans for example and made the bathtub really lovely :)

The food was excellent. My wife and I didn't eat a single thing during the week (and we tried almost everything) that we didn't like. The chefs, Mr. Radwan and Mr. Lotfi, were incredible – they made us unique, extremely delicious, and lovingly prepared meals, elevating our stay from a 10/10 to a 12/10. Literally. Neither my wife or me ever had the experience of such amazing chefs making us special meals and I can't find enough words to thank them. They made our stay unforgettable.

At the bar, the Bayrouge, Vita, the new Indonesian lady, Shafan, and others were always extremely accommodating, smiling, and good for friendly and funny small talks. We laughed a lot with them and loved their cocktails and mocktails. The snacks at the bar were also very good.

Mr. Ahmed, the front desk manager, always made us feel like we could approach him at any time if we had any questions or concerns. And he, like everyone else, was very accommodating and extremely nice.

All in all, I can highly recommend the Varu to everyone – it certainly won't be the last time my wife and I stayed there.

Varu by Atmosphere offers beautiful, spacious villas and an excellent all-inclusive experience. During our 4-night stay, we thoroughly enjoyed the included meals, drinks, and complimentary speedboat transfers. The room was spotless, with housekeeping done twice daily, which kept everything fresh and comfortable.

Everything was hassle-free, and all amenities were included as promised. Friendly and attentive staff were present everywhere, always ready to help with a smile. Definitely a resort worth visiting!

My experience at varu was amazing and it was due to Arsham our butler. He was very helpful and booked everything for us and replied very fast to our needs. He was simply AMAZING. The food was great at Lime and chili great variety. Charcoal was the best restaurant the least favorite was Nu. The beaches were great but there was a lot of stones and shells that made it difficult to snorkel and swim. The ladder in the water villas need to be changed it is rusty and difficult to go for a swim maybe wood that is durable to water would be a better option with bigger steps. The housekeeper that was in charge of our villas 505 and 507 was very kind and made all arrangements to our needs.
Winston the trainer was also amazing during our classes at the fitness center. Jet ski activity was very fun as well.

Varu was exactly in its name, an Atmosphere experience! From the drum ceremony arrival to the birthday dinner on the dock gazebo to the food and the service. Impeccable! I celebrated my birthday at Varu and absolutely loved the experience. Abby, Zune and the entire crew were phenomenal. I made new friendships here. My only suggestions are more entertainment during the evenings. It's a little bit dead after 9pm during the weekdays. But we would absolutely recommend. Charcoal is worth every moment! Food might be the best we've ever had. Try the lamb skewers, Wagyu and Pork Belly. Phenomenal! My water villa was what dreams are made of! Will definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time! All staff were wonderful and really made our trip great. Also, all restaurants were high quality and the buffet (Lime & Chilli) had excellent variety with options for all tastes. Great alcohol options for wine, beer, spirits etc as well.

The water is a crystal clear and great for snorkelling, and we did some additional water sports (paddle boarding, kayaking etc) which was a lot of fun.

My trip was ok because I didn’t expect much. Unfortunately on my side that I lost one of my diamonds bracelet right before the departure time so didn’t have time to look for it. However your staff texted me a couple days later that they found my bracelet and will send priority mail to me. I was happy to hear good news. Unfortunately they didn’t mail. It had been over 4 months still don’t see my bracelet. I have been using Messenger tried to get updated from Aida Medeubayeva but didn’t get any replies.

Treated like royalty, a truly brilliant experience

It is hard to describe just how truly excellent this hotel and its staff were. From the moment of stepping off the air conditioned boat after a 45 minute ride from Male, you experience a beautiful luxury island and warm and informative welcome from the staff.

Daily newsletter provided via WhatApp with news of the day and things to do, our host helpfully pre-booked restaurants and excursions for us and was then able to change to match our preferences. Nothing was too much trouble.

We sampled every restaurant, the food was superb in all, particularly worth visiting and experiencing was Kaage which provided truly excellent traditional Maldivian food.

Across the board the staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful we were treated like royalty and made to feel really special, it seems unfair to name individuals as everyone was so kind and helpful, but of particular note look out for Ritika, Christine, Manoi, Heni, Antarika and Rahul.

The boat trips, snorkelling and scuba diving were all fantastic, do the sunset fishing trip it is well worth it. The reefs around the island are a little sparse so well worth doing the included snorkelling trips. This island sets the standard, we had a fantastic week and will certainly go back. Thank you Varu

One thing that can be fixed are the small fixes needed around the villas. The toilet seat in Villa 512 is broken and the lock is messed up on the front door. In Villa 519, the shower head was messed up. I understand that the place being next to the ocean and in a humid environment leads to things breaking faster but these are everyday use items and should be in their best condition at all times.

This resort is really nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The food is good, they have many options but it can taste better.

The main issue with this island is that you will get a lot of “No’s” from the staff for requests.
They are usually very helpful but expect to have a lot of your requests turned down and not able to help.

The food service was the main problem for us.
All the restaurants close at 10 pm. The room service also closes at 10 pm. There isn’t any 24/7 service. So if you’re hungry after a long day you won’t be able to eat anything till the morning. The breakfast food is good, the lunch and dinner options are okay, definitely can be better.

The prices of the excursions are crazy high. Everything is a huge markup.

I personally wouldn’t call this place a 5 star resort at all because of the lack of amenities and not the best food options.

We had bugs in our room and bed, we were told they were from the outside and due to the rain.

The absolute worst part of this entire experience was the boat ride to the island. We almost died. Not even joking. The weather was horrible but for some reason the Island Host told us to get on the boat and head to the island. The rain was very bad and the boat was constantly being slammed by crazy waves and couldn’t see out the windows. The men on the boat didn’t speak English. The real issue was that they didn’t give us any life jackets and I had to get our own after the boat too

We loved every second. The airport transfer was easy without problem, almost 1 hour of boat travel. The welcome greeting by the staff at the island harbor was very nice with local music. The room is perfect with a pool next to the beach and to the ocean. The room is very clean and there is two times cleaning a day. The pool and the beach is also very clean. The pool gets cleaned every morning. The food was nice with variety of options. Lots of types. We loved the special restaurants as well with special regional foods. The staff is very respectful and always with a smile. They help you all the tome whatever you need. Special thanks to our host Julia, and Hemand from Bay Rouge Bar, especially to the general manager and ret of the crew. Our housekeeper was the best. Surprised us everyday for our honeymoon. We loved our time spent at VARU! The staff was super friendly and helpful! Lea at the Alena Spa was great! Balal took great care of our room and made sure we had plenty of water. Sonu was a fantastic hostess at Lime and Chili. Fiaz was such a sweet waiter, and Rahul was a fantastic manager. The grounds are gorgeous and the water is incredible! We went May 3-9th and the monsoons started about 3/4 of the way through the trip, but we loved it! Cooled the weather down a little bit. Lots of options for food. 5 star! Don’t hesitate to book Varu. We had room number 416 over the water bungalow with pool and it was a perfect location. We could snorkel to the beach, grab a drink and snorkel back. The sports center staff was fantastic. We enjoyed our excursions and highly recommend doing the jet ski tour with the manta rays and turtles. The staff went above and beyond. The only con would have to be that we stayed for 10 days and the food got a little repetitive but it was still delicious. Hopefully we get the opportunity to come back some day!

However, it is not a five star resort no matter how hard, and often too hard it tries. Make no mistake for the cost is an an excellent value.. if ur looking for value. If your looking for a true five star plan on spending 2-3 times as much. Here are a few four star reasons- all meals are served and consumed in open air accommodations. So your hot, sweaty, and will adjust as u sit looking at ocean . Even the \"al cart($)\" are open air.. Great food but would love to be cooler. The staff over does it with attempting to help u at every turn. At every single turn. to a point of, ok i know you know my name and i never met you before, but if like to be a little anonymous and left alone on this middle of nowhere little island. For example, my key would not work, and the maintenance man let me in the phone rang off the hook to new key as i napped on deck. They came by, called and called, and , texted me.. more four star examples. My boat home 2 pm. Was told upon arrival \"late check out if available\" (standard). But upon my call on last am, a charge of $100 is tackless. Then as i ate lunch at 12:05 i got a text letting me know, the meal plan ends at 12, but allowing me this curtesy.. then a waiver promising \"not to post anything bad\" or i guess we wil see

Varu by Atmosphere is excellent all round! The whole island has a lovely feel and is kept in immaculate condition. The food on offer in all of the restaurants is of an extremely high quality but the best thing about the resort is the people that work there, as they are extremely pleasant and can't do enough for their guests.

My wife and I had our honeymoon at Varu and it was such an amazing experience and vacation! As soon as you enter from the airport, you are treated with such luxury going on the speed boat going to the resort. The staff were extremely friendly, everyone from the servers to the host! A few standouts for my wife and I was Chamila the bartender, he was super friendly and provided great service. The buffet restaurant server, I believe his name was Shashil was also super friendly. Everyone was great! The restaurants that they had were amazing. Kaage had amazing Maldivian food, Charcoal, had the most tender filet mignon I've ever had, and Nu was amazing Mediterranean food. The standout for my wife and I was Nu, simply delicious and high-end! It was really great that they gave you 3 dinners if you were staying 6-7 days which we had. The activities were solid too, but to be honest we did more relaxing than anything else. The only thing I'd change is the weather, it was wet season so a little more cloudy and windy, but just how it goes. If I were to come again, I would definitely choose a different time of year in dry season. Our water villa was amazing. The sounds of the ocean was so soothing and memorable on the back patio and being able to snorkel in the backyard was great but a little rough. The water and beaches were unforgettable. Crystal clear water and the sand was white, breathtaking. Overall it was amazing, couldn't have picked a better honeymoon destination at Varu!

Great service and hospitality! However, I wish the all inclusive package comes with complimentary motorised water activities, every motorised water activities is excluded and will incur extra charges.

Come during period between May to July if you dont like hot and sunny weather.

From the day we landed till the day we left we were welcomed to the utmost. I can say enough about the staff there so nice pleasant and respectful and would go out of their way to make sure we were happy. The island itself was beautiful with plenty to do and not do if you want. Food was amazing and we tried everything couldn’t say anymore how much we loved all the cuisines.
